Another "probably not unpopular" take but, going alongside my previous take, RPCs overall benefit from public RP events! It'll of course depend on what kind of source material the RPC stems from, but the type of events that require muses to work together to take on a challenge or threat can especially breathe some life into the community! They can also serve as bridges for people new to each other to meet, and potentially for new mutualships or friendships to form.

I've spent most of my RP years in a community that hosts events pretty frequently on average, and going from that to this hella quiet community tripped me up a lot. I know public events aren't easy to do, and they can be very stressful to organize + maintain, but they can be a stellar time to enjoy & create good memories for many people. I think DB's setting has a lot of potential for allowing engaging public events, and it's somewhat saddening that things have been so dry for so long.

(Ngl for the past year I've on & off entertained the idea of hosting some kind of event myself, but I have zero idea where to start...and I have the sneaking suspicion that a lot of people wouldn't partake in an event if I was the creator of it. That might just be the devil that is my paranoia whispering to me though.)

Ryu, I know my writing can be intimidating. I prefer to stick to long, descriptive, paragraphs that can be overwhelming but you need to keep in mind that I don't need partners to match my length. Give me something to work with and I'm happy. I don't reblog a lot of memes but you're welcome to send stuff in, you just HAVE to start labeling your asks with your blog name. It helps me a ton.

Nathan, I think you're a wonderful person and can be a little too hard on yourself sometimes. It's okay. You don't have to be perfect and I'm very happy we've been able to start writing together as we have. I know all my threads run on a queue so it takes a bit for me to get to replies, but I do enjoy writing with you.

Raven, you're so amazing. One of the sweetest muns I know. When we started writing together, I was always worried that I wasn't good enough. I'm so glad that those thoughts faded over time because you're one of my best friends. I am always so happy being able to write with you and see the antics Star, Horizon, and Snowy can get into. 🔥 (unpopular opinion on... fandom?)

I think one I have is that people are often too charitable to their fandom creators not even in a way that I want to harass, criticize them as a person when unneeded, but overall writing or direction of a show. I think a good example of this is ViziPop or w/e her name is, as she has enough ooc problems herself for her past and with her employee treatment that I don't need to go into, but I find her fans that believe her at face value to be annoying and when they praise arguably bad writing or characterization such as with 'Stella' who's basically a cardboard cutout for a character when she's rather important to Octavia, Stolas, but rather she's simply there to be 'bad' which is fine.

//Not to compare such a high budget film and production, but Jack Horner comes to mind of a simple, classic villain done right of being entertaining, characterized and really just stealing the show of what he does best, being a cartoonishly evil bad guy and a good one at that in a simple manner. It's why I'm okay with such a basic 'bleh bleh she's actually a big abuser!' but it feels like a bigger writing crutch to the story of why Stolas cheating on her was okay, as we all sympathized with Stella at first and with Stolas and their situation, but it was rather clear that Vizi wanted to change that perception in the dumbest way possible, along with Stella being all around eh, pretty unlikable in canon even from a villain standpoint? As to me, it's bad writing to play the sympathy/empathy card to get you to like a character in a rather sudden hamfisted way, but eh, it is what it is. I'll admit I've lost interest in the media as my attention will go to other things that I'm interested in eventually if there's not enough to show for it.

I like writing smut with people I trust or like a lot, but as I tried to rp Verosika for a while but it always devolved into sex even after plotting, which is fine... but it got grating after a while when I was being approached solely for that when it came to her to the point I like rping her and using her, but I got bored and eventually tossed her aside despite being in my primary. I like rping with her and still do, but even with my rp partners I try to at least characterize them a plot point that'd interest their character but also not over-do it with the smut as I had gotten 20+ smut requests her at one point when Helluva Boss was really popular at the time. Other than that? I have no real problems with anyone, as no one I follow is a drama hog and I don't think anyone I've ever interacted with is a drama hog from that fandom, but I do know that's a problem in the fandom as well that a lot of messed up things happen in the bg or ppl rp things like non-con, incest openly with ZERO fade to black in a fucked up fetish rp in public of all places, though rarely anything pedophilic happens thankfully from what I know.

~ Not my fandom, because there aren't many characters, I actively dislike just acknowledge they exist and move on but THIS BITCH.

People give Sakura shit but no no no this WORTHLESS ASS character is ACTUALLY USELESS. And I actually hate anytime she is on screen and think her addition does NOTHING and the fact the incel ass loser mangaka got so pissy he had to self-insert himself as a fucking child to calmly 'debuke' his mother, who was supposed to be a stand in for the people who rightfully hate Tamak, on why it's okay the author just has her almost naked everyone time she shows up 'because she has a beautiful body'.

Ugh. This is the same mother fucker who made Soul Eater, and aside from the anime's shit ending, and I never finished reading the manga it feels so odd he creates a character like Tamaki.

Like, gag characters are fine, so is fan service, but when you make a character that is NOTHING but an excuse to be a fucking creep, yeah nah people going to say something.

Fucking MIneta is better than her, and he is trash,
