Would you be willing to elaborate on what you meant by "Law’s cannibalized his importance"? While it does look as if Law is important from Punkhazard to Wano because of the whole alliance to take down Kaido, before petering out in Wano and just goes along for the narrative obligation. I don't understand what cannibalizing would entail.

back on Sabaody, Kidd was explicitly set up as a foil for Luffy and the Straw Hats. He was the one with the first mate with a bounty over 100 million like Zoro, had the most similar bounty with a slight difference due to a kill count for civilians, and explicitly wanted to be King of the Pirates. What I thought was most interesting was when he said he killed anyone who made fun of his dream, which is pretty much the exact opposite from Luffy during the Jaya arc. I thought Oda was setting up something with that idea of Luffy’s dark opposite (in a different sense than Blackbeard) because as I’ve mentioned before, Oda loves writing foils for his characters. But that aspect between Kidd and Luffy has gone pretty much unexplored, with Law getting all the love post time skip, and overall has had the much better showing in the New World.

oh spongo u know just how to push my buttons huh..... well for Bitten by the Cold i'm excited to write law getting to meet his crew again because i have that scene all plotted out uwu and maybe once i've gotten past that i can get to a smolaw reunion and that excites me because i have zero idea how that's gonna go, i just know i want it. and you know i'm working on the modern au which is gripping me so hard i wish i had more time to write it... and also bc punkhazard anime was Like That for no reason i'm plagued by so many ph smolaw thoughts i'm goign mildly insane

humm this is a hard one... well for Bitten by the Cold i thought about including a flashback to law and bepo before arriving at the ship, but so far it hasn't fit anywhere and i'm not sure it'll be needed anyway. oh, and one of those days chapter 3 almost continued further with law and chopper following up on that idea of cooperation to treat his condition, but the chapter break happened naturally and i didn't wanna get too plotty anyway. who knows, maybe i'll write a supplemental someday.

As someone who is pretty new to One Piece (I’m finishing up Alabasta), I’m curious what you think are some of the best and some of the worst One Piece arcs are?

Ones I don't like..

Enies Lobby [water 7 is great till CP9]

Fishman Island [sanjiis peek annoying and there's many annoying chars]

Dressrosa [has some of the best and worst parts in OP and goes on 8000 years]

Zou [just found it boring]

WCI [didn't care for 99% of the chars introduced this arc and not into Sanji enough for fucks to be given]

I also didn't like the mini ASL arc but that's me not liking kids not the arcs fault.

Ones I DO like

Arlong - to me this is when One Piece really hits. First time they come together and for Nami. Namis backstory still hits hard and I enjoy the chars.

Water 7 - just love it. Tom and Franky and Iceberg and all of Galley La. Great.

Davy Back Fight - fucking ridiculous and I'm in love with it. So dumb and fun.

Thriller Bark - maybe I am just a spooky bitch.

Impel Down/Marineford - as a package but not on their own cus you need the silly of Impel before your heart is ripped out and stuffed up your ass.

Punkhazard - just ignore ceaser.

Wano - the Roger and WB flashbacks and moat the stuff after the fucking prison has been great.

(in one verse she finds it as young as 4 and in another as old as 7 or 8) • she also always finds it while being young, and thus is given a sea-stone (prism?) bracelet that mostly just blocks its power til she’s old enough to safely learn to use the powers. • she is as much of a trouble maker as her father was when he was a kid, just minus the anger issues.  • both her parents are stubborn s o  she is too • she has potential for Conquer’s Haki. and this is purely because so far in the series, theres a lot of evidence that at least the first born child of someone that has Conquer’s Haki will also have it. (parent/child examples: roger & ace, big mom & katakuri, dragon & luffy, ect... | eldest child with unknown parents: boa)
