Shred the Dragon was created with partial Wisp DNA to stabilize her genetic code. Therefore she has inherited their hyper-go-on powers, and so can temporarily turn herself to pure energy and give her powers to a host she trusts. Which have so far only been Sonic, Shadow, and Silver. Her mixture of chaos and hyper-go-on mixed fire gives it it's powerful unique properties. Since she's fast, strong, and incredibly cunning and keen. So all the hedgehog's already existing traits are amplified. Sonic becomes ever faster, Shadow's strength and chaos powers magnify, and so do Silver's psychic abilities. But of course Shred's own unique abelites are given to them as well. Her physical features such as her wings, tail, markings, and flame chamber. They themselves don't technically get her claws, more like she changes their gloves and shoes to attain claws (Like how Sonic's shoes changed when he became a werehog.). Her hyper chaos fire powers is also theirs to control, and makes them unable to get too cold, and makes them fire proof (They basically use it like firebenders, except unlike Shred they don't breathe it from their mouths). Whenever she or they know when they come together, they instantly know the knowledge of. Though they can focus on either end to keep things confidential. Shred can split herself three ways and give all three of them power at once, though she can't do it as long as one. She can also give them power in their Super forms. In all their Shred Super forms their wings are all golden feathered. The wings are different to suit the host.

I know the fandom loves making Rui cry. Hell, I love making Rui more than anything. But I think we're also missing that Rui— never cries.

I think it adds onto the subhuman factor. After all, monsters don't get to have emotions, was there ever a story where a monster cried? Exactly.

I think it's also remarkable that the time we see Rui close to breaking into tears — Curtain Call — he does NOT cry. In fact, Asahi describes it as "a weird face". suits him quite well, doesn't it?

Rui doesn't know how to cry. He can scrunch his face but... He just doesn't know how to.

And then we arrive at Our Happy Ending and he's laughing and crying with all his friends, a messy pile of hugs and arms and warmth and utter desperation for the lost. And he cries, and there are little tears in the corners of his eyes when he leaves the Wonder Stage. He doesn't realize it at first, but when Nene sneers at him and Tsukasa gives him a tissue he suddenly does.

Maybe monsters can cry too.

Starting off the 2024 season with Keiki because I've been thinking about her a lot lately

Artist's Note:

I decided to experiment a little more with my rendering style via using a more traditional approach to drawing in the shadows. I like how much texture this piece has as a result, my friend told me it looks like something out of a storybook and that was the look I was inspired by so I'm glad it turned out that way.

Also, when it came to doing the front view of the nose, I just went "fuck it" and made it a dot because why learn anatomy when you can just default to what 5 year old you did when drawing faces?

I also had an idea of how to draw Keiki's dress as that has always been something I've struggled with since it's kinda confusing to draw lol. I also gave Keiki some earrings in the shape of a kofun tomb because we need more Keiki with earrings (I could have also taken from IRL but I'll save that for when I draw Keiki next). Speaking of Kofun tombs, I made the thing she's laying down on the shape of a Kofun tomb, because this is also kind of a redraw of some old Keiki fanart from 2021 that I will show right here.

I liked the concept of it (i.e. Keiki in the middle of a Kofun keyhole with the fire thing she has surrounding her) so I decided to try at that concept again just for fun. Back then I was very adamant on staying as close to canon as possible, but now I'm a lot more lenient with how I draw the characters. The pose in the 2021 drawing was inspired by that one Shinra-Bansho records MV where Keiki showed up for 5 seconds and the rest of it was Yachie but yeah. Also I always thought Keiki's apron was a dark green BUT NO IT WAS JUST A DARK SHADE OF FUCKING TEAL ZUN WHAT IS THE COLOUR THEORY BULLSHIT YOU HAVE CONFUSED ME FOR SO LONG-

anyways, I would say this is a pretty strong start to 2024 art wise, I'm gonna keep experimenting with this new rendering style because I like it a lot!
