Not to mention, he has one of the most badass weapons in the game 🔫

He’s married to a woman named Kathy and has two daughters, Moira and Polly. Moira actually is a playable character alongside Claire in Resident Evil Revelations 2 (which Barry is also in!).

His family is a big part of the plot in Jill’s scenario of RE 1/Remake; Wesker is blackmailing Barry for nefarious purposes by saying Umbrella is threatening to kill them if Barry doesn’t go along (which it’s all Wesker and Barry overhears him monologuing to Jill and backstabs Wesker).

Lore wise he’s pretty important; he’s who got Chris Redfield into STARS once he got discharged from the Air Force and he’s besties with Kendo who owns the gun shop where STARS members get their weapons.

hanging out with the burtons is the closest thing to be reunited with her family that claire can have, time spent with them always recharging her whenever nostalgia hits too hard. this weekend kathy had invited her over for polly's birthday, and after settling with chris on a gift to give to their youngest daughter, claire had promised him that along with her would have come her school books too - a small boring price to pay to have a better future, at least that's what he says.

so here claire is, sprawled on a bed in the spare room while chatter settles downstairs in between waiting to finally eat cake. her mind is already half shifting into a moment of distraction, light steps approaching her curiously sparking a sudden interest of her own. "hi moira," sweet smile is flashed up before returning to read, body scooting slightly to make some space for the younger girl. "what are you up to?"

@barrysbaby : can you keep a secret?

"a secret?" textbook falls on her stomach as head turns to face moira, full attention on the child as she ponders what to say. could she? possibly. after all claire knows all about secrets, had of her own and kept for others throughout most of her formative years like precious treasures - which is exactly what she intends to do with the youngest burton... unless it's something bad, that is. "sure, pinky promise i'll keep your secret forever."

so, this is me rambling through a rundown of most of what they cut from the final version of r.esident evil r.evelations 2. This is all summary of what was gathered from the horrid mess in the data files that a friend datamined and we sorted through about a year after the game released. It's a goddamn nightmare in there.

To make a very lengthy story short, they had the full game set to go until about 2 weeks to the first episode being released, and then basically halved it after delaying it for about another week with no explanation??? Nobody knows why they decided to go this route and we probably won't ever know. they left the game data in a bit of a cobbled mess with those data files still in it (and when I say it's a mess i mean it's a M E S S. it took three weeks to get just some of the dialogue that was missing and then much more to make some semblance of sense of the whole thing and piece it all together. like why not just delete all of it???? unless it was a case of 'if i remove this tomato the entire game will cease to function so it stays in this spot outside of the stage'-) and some dialogue tags and actions have zero context to them in the game in its current state.

i'm also not putting in the dialogue tags and am instead summarizing them because this post will be 10x longer than it is.

I also want to note that as much shit as I'm about to give it I fucking adore this goddamn game, it got me through some very dark times in my life, I even have Moira as my alias for most websites- it's amazing, but the fact that they left this much is kinda bizarre and makes me wonder what could have been. also it's v weird to do this summary again. i've done it once before but some details are missing from what i had in a draft of the deleted post i wrote and the post that a friend wrote so some of this is from memory.

alas.

The first episode is basically the same in terms of story. Claire and Moira get kidnapped, they wake up and Moira is freed after Claire does the first puzzle in the cells. It's much more hyper in pace and intense then smoothed into the more liminal space horror that we get in the prison currently. It was lengthy on both sides with a bit more of a reflection on things from barry's side in reference to Moira and LOTS. OF. PUZZLES. ON CLAIRE'S SIDE. kind of a blessing i'm not going to lie. alex went fucking hard (she literally set all these traps herself with a bit of help from neil) and her dialogue tags are ruthless. the xbox 360 demo they sent to cons and press reflect this.

The second episode... jesus fucking christ my guys.

For Claire's side: So instead of the ending being based solely on the choice you make in the third episode, there were a couple of different choices you can make in the second alluding to different endings where some characters die, some don't, ALL CHARACTERS DIE, all but one live, etc (I'll explain this in the fourth episode). Basically, you can help guide Moira's conquered fear a bit more instead of making it based around this one pivotal moment. It's a nice, slow blend into the root cause of her fear. She even talks more about what happened and Claire encourages her to try to protect herself more, even knowing what happened. Moira seems a bit more sympathetic, though is still angry at Barry for being over"bear"ing (ba dum tiss). It's not a constant slew of 'I HATE BARRY'' 'DOES HE ALWAYS TELL THAT AWFUL JOKE' and teenage-ish angst, there's actually much more of a blended mix of her trying to process what's going on and what happened between her and polly years ago. ( also there's a lot of what I like to call "Burton Joke Moments" lmao )

Also. I must state that the N.eil x C.laire dialogue was not present and actually isn't present in the original script of the game still, either in the old version and in the script in the japanese version. C-usa is notorious for implying things in their translation of R.esident E.vil stories (they got some fucking fire up their ass from Capcom and the development team after this one though, it was BAD.). The basis in the japanese script is that they were coworkers, he's the boss, without him terra save might crumble, and the script went more in the route of Claire being concerned about Neil as the leader of Terra Save as a whole.

Also, CLAIRE ACTUALLY ACTS LIKE CLAIRE. While the moment of Moira and Natalia bonding over the bracelets is still present and connected with the other pieces of dialogue, in the pieces of dialogue we found she is much more presently concerned with the actual fucking child they have tagging along with them. "Natalia, are you okay?" "You can come down" "Can you jump that high?" "Do the monsters scare you?" "You've got this, we'll get you out of here, don't worry." "Wow you're strong!" "do you need to catch your breath?" etc. While some of what was found can also be implied to be towards Moira, all of it sounds much more uplifting towards the kid than what we get in the present version.

Pedro's death is marginally the same, though the dialogue is that much more heartbreaking. That man was so fucking scared and Alex taunting him seemingly pushed him even more and made him an example of what those bracelets can do. Claire is also much more reassuring to him and trying to take charge of the situation before it eventually goes to the hell it turns into.

that's what i remember of claire's side, barry's side-

It was so much more creepy because Alex actually follows and watches you throughout the chapter (tbh a bit of an inside joke between me and a friend is that Alex walked so MR. X could run). There's animations and coding that imply she was supposed to be loaded into each scene in the city. Once you load it with the monster Alex model that's covered, she is permanently Watching you it's really fucking weird and was honestly funny to watch my friend test out (after it took hours to get it to Function). This also goes along with the present implications of her watching through cameras and through the revenants. She is literally Always watching you.

Speaking of! Fun Fact that I love just bc of its creepy factor- Alex is literally watching you through the revenants, but even this mechanic seems a bit faulty, or it's faulty on purpose? They don't seem to see Natalia, but heaven forbid they touch Barry if he's hiding it's an immediate grab (npc controlled or not). Oddly enough this is kinda the same for Moira in Moira's dlc chapter. They see her but also kinda dont? i'll explore that in my own hc for her later. Makes me wonder if they have this whole system of snuffing out who's infected and who's not it's really fucking cool. Or if it's glitchy. I'm gonna go for the former option bc it's cool.

anyway- that is most of what i recall from his side of ep 2, i think there was more with the pedro fight but it was mostly repeats of his scared rant in claire's side, if i remember more i'll add on to this.

episode 3-

i dont remember much about anything before the big neil fight, so im not sure if much of it changed aside from the aforementioned script stuff with claire and neil. there was a bit more talk about barry from moira following the encounter with evgeny and it's much more defeated than the high strung nature we get from her in the first chapter. "i didnt have to be told i did something bad" or smth turned into something like "i just wished we could have talked more without being stubborn". like honestly it seems less that they always fought, but were more complacent and silently tense until one of them poked the bear. kinda like a "not causing a fight for the family" sorta deal???

the fight though- i think it would have been so much stronger with the dialogue that was taken out. like i am not saying i dont like 'WE WERE SUPPOSED TO SAVE PEOPLE IT'S IN THE GODDAMN NAME!' but, claire is really going in on what neil has been doing, she's much more reactive after she has gotten some more clarity on what neil has been doing.

there's also like this document found in the chamber where you can find the dead butler, and it talks about albert and his visits and how ppl would just look really weirdly at this dude dressed all in black leather and telling them not to mind him lmao

barry's side didn't change much. barry's discovery of evgeny and then of moira's phone hit me like a goddamn brick wall and i dont think it changed much aside from the little different bits of dialogue you can hear from moira in episode four (i'll explain this in episode 4's piece)

now. episode 4.

holy shit on a shitstick-

some of this will be a mish mash of what i remember, what is missing, what is in concept art pieces, and what we had to gather from all of the above.

Starting with Claire's episode. So, there's a massive reason why claire episode 4 is only 10 minutes long as opposed to the other chapters, in short, there was a LOT cut out of it and connected to other pieces that were cut out, etc. I'll start with smaller bits of info and go up into the rather massive thing that we could only piece together and theorize about because, quite frankly and as much as this might make no sense, what we found makes no goddamn sense unless we connect it to scene stuff.

so, little weird things first- moira was supposed to get a katana from the tower at one point. for some reason alex kept one around, highly suspected to be albert's but i don't know. there's also a silenced pistol that implies that claire was supposed to silently shoot at the glasps that are released once the tower starts to go into self destruct mode. There's supposed to be more puzzles strewn about the lab, and more sight seeing around it too. Like you were supposed to see around it a lot more and not just from the confines of a glass box.

and then you get to moira's death.

you were supposed to hear her voice recording to barry as claire is walking away. that's fucking heart wrenching. like there's a reason why she has her phone in hand but not doing anything with it- she was about to record her final words to her dad, thinking she was about to die.

Now the big thing.

When you take the camera away from the insulated box they have you in with claire and moira and go beyond alex, you can find some bits and trinkets: two hospital beds (of which you can already see) some tricell equipment and purple tubes with rocks. Close inspection shows that they look a hell of a lot like lava rocks. Now hold on you may say, would that imply alex was trying to clone a certain brother of hers- i don't believe so. However, it implies that she had his dna. It's also implied that she was testing out what she was doing with natalia to see if she could do the same with albert's dna. which. makes a lot of other things make sense. Honest to god the one thing i hate about the way they did this is all the disconnected plot lines, like the one that "you were right albert it's not enough to live i want to transcend" alludes to. Like they left that in there and just didn't bother to explain why and let you assume he just rambled on about it to her one time and he continued that ramble into 5- yeah just. ugh.

another thing to ramble about before going into the brief discussion about barry's episode 4- the ending of barry's episode 3 (among other things) is just so. so unclear without the piece that is missing from claire's episode 4. alex grabs natalia and there's a brief moment where alex shows genuine fear, that's because her experiment worked, but only half way. See, half of her escaped and transferred into natalia and now lays dormant, the other half, however, is cursed to stay into the mutated form she is in. The only problem is this half in natalia is the worst half. this is where the "true or false, you, natalia, are false, i alone am true" thing and her raging hatred for natalia comes into play. only thing is they didnt show this or explain it.

and then barry's episode 4.

so, the multi-endings bit kinda comes into play here. Right now we have only two endings, a good ending and a bad ending. However, there's parts that make it look like the ending was supposed to be split up. Barry and Moira were supposed to work together for a bit (like when they escaped the area the first boss fight with alex happened in, it just cuts to them somehow running outside even though this cave was DEEP into the ground), there's some lines for evgeny (even though he dies which is honestly really curious).

that's honestly all i can recall at the current moment and as i dive into old files i might find more. hope yall enjoyed my ramblings.

Cold walks- oneshot

A/N this is a prompt that comes in almost every one shot, And ironically it's my favorite prompt! This is an human AU though, since tnbc is like a afterlife too me. Enjoy!

Sally was in her father's house cleaning. He had been in a horrible accident that had permanently damaged his legs, thus meaning he could no longer do some task of cleaning. Sally's mother, jewel, had hit her head hard in the accident and she was still in the hospital healing. Her brother was also in the hospital so it was up to her to help the family. You might be asking 'well why isn't she injured?' To answer your question she was at home, Why? Because she was sewing to late one night and she was "grounded". Sally right now was the only one who wasn't injured, she's great full yes, but still she couldn't go outside now.

father had Just got into bed and Sally was feeling more restless then normal. She grabbed her perse and then went out the door.

Jack skellington was just enjoying the night. He had Just got out of his job and was walking around his town. He was a king but he still much preferred when he was a child. Before he was king he was living with his aunt and uncle being a commoner till he was a young teen. He took over being king due to his parents dying at sea from a ice burg. He missed being just a child. He was a adult now and not many friends.

He was walking around with not much to do. When he saw Sally, climbing out the downstairs window. He watched quietly as she reaches into the bushes and puts a stepping stool infront of the window she climbed out of. She puts her hands on her hips and smiles. Jack smiles at her cute gesture and clears his throat to make himself known. Sally jumps and turns around. "I guess I just witnessed a escape?" Jack says as he leans into a wall. Sally blushes and rolls her eyes at the man. " I needed some space, I'll be back soon." Sally stated looking away. Jack smiled "Alright. Want to join me, Sally?" He gestured to the path outside the house. Sally Nodded eagerly as she reaches his side. They made there way out of the gate and took an path leading to the graveyard.

About 15 minutes later Sally rubs her exposed arms trying to warm herself while shivering. Jack saw something that reminded him of the Tim burtons ' The dream before valentines day' and was about to point it out to Sally when he took notice of her shivering. He stopped walking and Sally stopped too.

"Sally?" Jack said putting his hand on her back. Sally shivered more and felt her face warm a little. "Y-yes?" She responded teeth chattering. Jack frowned at Sally's coldness and slid his jacket off his shoulders and puts it on Sally. "Here, your freezing. I am fine without my coat anyways." Jack offered smiling. She bit her lip nevously, her face turning more red. "Thank you Jack..." Sally muttered "It's no problem at all Sal." Jack chuckled out. He looked around then pointed to a art shop "Does that not look like Jake and Polly from TDBV?" Sally giggled at Jack before nodding.

They where near the graveyard and Sally though her torso up was warm but that doesn't change the fact she came out here in nothing but a dress. knee length dress. Her legs where wobbly and she was close to just falling. Her hands were going numb She looked up at the gate hoping she wouldn't fall right now. Jack was looking else where sneaking peeks at Sally. Sometimes he wonders why she's not dating any one. She's a wonderful Woman and probably the only person Jack wants. He quietly observes as she rubs her hands together. "Sal." Jack said Sally looked up at him with a short smile. He comes infront of her and lifts up both his hands. "Here let me warm them up." Sally blushes and gives him her hands. His eyes widen A little. "There so cold.." Jack muttered quietly. Sally sucks in her breath before saying...

"My lips are cold too..."

A group of young desperados is hunted for several years by a determined bank guard (Jack Palance). Both the gang’s actions, and their demise in a climactic finale (à la “Bonnie and Clyde”) are very graphic and violent.

𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟎 - 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟖, 𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐄 & 𝐒.𝐓.𝐀.𝐑.𝐒

during high school, chris barely made passing grades despite his intelligence and spent more time in the principal’s office than any actual classes - due to a lack of attendance and his refusal to take school seriously as he had already planned not to go to college. his best friend, billy rabbitson, was a straight a student and the two were seen as an odd pairing. at the age of seventeen, chris enlisted in the u.s air force - training at the usaf weapons school in nevada. during his basic military training he showed exceptional marksmanship as well as a proficiency in mechanics and combat. it is here that he first met b/arry burton and established a lifelong bond as the two became partners. f/orest s/peyer was also serving in the united states army and the two formed a close friendship. during this time, his best friend from school billy (who had moved on to study at m.i.t) , would write him letters, however chris would never write back (due to time constraints and a lack of motivation).

barry became a close friend and surrogate father figure for chris whilst he was serving, often being taken to family dinners and babysitting moira and polly, being an almost godfather figure to the two girls, which would only grow in time - along with his sister claire bonding with the two.

during these years, his military career and skills first flourished. showing a preference, when required, for hand-to-hand combat, he taught these skills to his younger sister claire, along with teaching her how to safely and effectively use a gun for self defence. during his time in the air force, he reached position of staff sergeant during his third year, and served in the air division during the gulf war piloting an f-16 fighting falcon, though gained experiences with many other aircraft - a skill that he has retained to this day, and has flown in several instances despite no longer being a part of the air force ( see: escaping the antarctic base, escaping marhawa academy, destroying the missile in chinese waters ).

despite an impressive record and unquestionably being a good fighter pilot, chris began to show issues with authority - notably, that he would disobey orders under the impression he knew best, preferring to put his morals over missions. even the father figure he had gained in barry was not enough to deter him from this behaviour, and chris would often insist that saving the lives of as many people as possible was more important than completing the mission objective ( growing disillusioned with the notion of war and the u.s’s involvements ). due to his successes, as well as barry’s attempts to make up for chris’ poor behaviour, he was given a second chance to improve.

however, the success would not last. upon orders to abandon his squad to ensure the success of the mission, chris abandoned his duty in order to rescue the rest of his squad - and whilst he succeeded, and the mission was still completed, his growing attitude and constant disobedience of orders from superior officers led to him being dishonourably discharged.

prior to his journey home after being discharged, he received a call in the middle of the night informing him of a fatal accident involving his parents, making him claire’s legal guardian. taking up several part time jobs in order to provide for claire and make enough money to send her to college, he stayed in their hometown of until she was able to do so. then, he continued to work, attempting to find work in law enforcement but lacked in the sense of co-operation, along with authority issues still - failing to get into swat because of it. eventually, he found himself in raccoon city.

in 1996 his experience and skills were deemed a perfect match for the r.p.d unit s.t.a.r.s by b/arry burton, who suggested him to captain albert wesker. alongside his former friends, he joined alpha team as point man - being partnered with burton and solving many cases together. often he participated in the r.p.d’s shooting competitions, leading to a competitive rivalry with forest, though the two remained good friends along with joseph frost who often spent free time in the suburbs of raccoon together. assigned to be /jill valentine’s partner when she joined, he trained her in marksmanship and developed a close bond with her despite an initial rough start.

often, claire would come to visit where he lavished her with gifts and introduced her to the team, enjoying the night life (despite claire not being old enough, but chris was charming and had good weight with many people due to his job), and gifted her his s.t.a.r.s combat knife. despite issues with captain w/esker due to his attitude, chris preformed well on missions and was recognised as one of the best marksmen in the r.p.d. however, chris was also constantly and publicly antagonising chief irons, often pushing his behaviour as much as he could without losing his job - he was popular and well-liked amongst the rpd, but often seen as a irresponsible and overconfident jackass by anyone under iron’s thumb. chris, forest and joseph became good friends and would often spend a lot of time in and out of work together, but were seen as a rambunctious trio. despite his many attempts to get jill to spend time with them, it usually didn’t work.

in raccoon, he reunited with billy and their friendship continued. billy had begun working for umbrella, and in april 1998 moved to chicago as part of a research project, but had been gone missing and was presumed dead after the plane to chicago crashed. prior to the incident at the arklay mansion, chris received a call from his ‘dead’ friend who revealed that he had never boarded the plane in the first place, and had made a mistake involving himself in umbrella and asked chris to meet him to discuss it in person. it was during this night that chris first saw the cereberus creatures - launching his own investigation against orders from irons in order to discover who was trying to kill his old friend and what connection it had to the recent murders. chris, like the other s.t.a.r.s had been over-working himself prior to this event investigating the current and growing murders in raccoon city, and was beginning to grow more and more paranoid (something that would only increase after the arklay mansion incident, as would his constant-working and tendency to run off on his own to investigate). however, upon finding him ( alongside jill, who had been sent to retrieve him and bring him back to the rpd ) chris watched him die as they ran into the first zombies they would see, his dying words being that the company he worked for ( umbrella ) had forced them to create a virus that turned people into zombies. informing we/sker shortly after, it was then that they went sent into arklay after the missing bravo team.

this timeline details Claire's story from 2007 until present day. opportunities for plotting are labeled , though you're not limited to them. they are there just for both our benefits to signify that I want to add more there once it's plotted and developed. questions are always welcome.

2007 ― 2010

just like she knew that he would , Claire watched her brother throw himself into work rather than deal with the pain of losing Jill. Claire did her best to ensure that her terrasave jobs would overlap with Chris' BSAA missions. she'd begun writing articles about the connections , tricell , umbrella , and WP ; disguising them as ' what if ' articles and describing things that ' could ' happen. she knew that she was putting a target on her back , but she was willing to take that chance in order to trigger some real change.

'09 , after finding out about Jill's survival , Claire took a leave of absence from terrasave in order to spend time with Jill and help with her recovery. Claire knew that it would mean a lot to her brother , and honestly it meant a lot to herself as well. she had been heartbroken over the loss of Jill , and the relief of being wrong meant everything to her.

2011 ― 2016

Claire and Chris maintained their relationship with the Burton family throughout the years , even after the Burtons moved to Canada in the late 90s. Claire made sure to visit the Burtons whenever she could while working with terrasave , even sharing some of her stories with Moira and Polly about how ' cool ' her job could be. this would result in Moira's want to join terrasave when she was older , despite her parents' urge to choose a different path.

'11 , Moira joined terrasave and began working with Claire. her first day on the job , several terrasave members were captured and transported to Sein Island off the coast of Russia. they were infected with the t ― phobos virus and were studied by Alex Wesker while she attempted to find the perfect vessel for a copy of her consciousness. after the fight with Alex , Claire and Moira raced against time to escape the facility before it was able to self destruct but they were unsuccessful. Moira was hurt and demanded that Claire leave rather than die with her. Claire hated doing it , but she left as she was instructed to do. she jumped into the water to escape the island. later , Claire was found washed up on the beach and was forced to tell Barry that she believed Moira to be dead.

six months later , Claire worked as backup for Barry who went back to Sein Island to try and find Moira. together they successfully rescued both Moira Burton and Natalia Korda.

december 24th , 2012 , while in Edonia , her brother Chris was attacked and beaten within an inch of his life by a BSAA agent who had been infected and mutated. he was knocked unconscious , and though his life was saved by his partner Piers , he would go on to develop post traumatic amnesia. when he came to , he informed the hospital employees , BSAA members , and Piers of his amnesia but escaped the hospital before anything could be done. immediately following his departing , Piers called Claire who was in the hospital herself thousands of miles away. she checked herself out immediately and went to Piers to help with her brother.

it took nearly six months to find Chris , with both Claire and members of the BSAA working tirelessly. he was found in a small village in Eastern Europe , having become an angry drunk. Claire was with Piers when they approached Chris to bring him back to the BSAA. she was very careful with Chris as they discussed what he remembered and what he didn't remember. she had been working very closely with the doctors who would treat him once he'd been found and knew that she couldn't force his memory to repair itself.

july '13 , after Chris' release from the hospital and his returning to work , Claire made her way to the Burton residence to visit with them after all they'd endured. on the way there , she was informed by one of the members of the BSAA that Chris and Piers would be going to China. at the end of the mission , when Chris was offered retirement , part of Claire thought he would take it ― she was happy to hear that he'd turned it down to honor Piers.

late '15 , Claire , as a member of terrasave , is called in to investigate the death of an orca that had washed up on the beach in San Francisco , California. she took samples and statements and brought them to the BSAA only to learn that the organization itself had received similar intel. deciding to work together , Claire teamed up with both Chris and Jill Valentine to investigate Alcatraz Island. later , they find that Leon Kennedy is also investigating the island and the four team up together to defeat Dylan Blake and Maria Gomez.

2017

august , immediately following the events of the Dulvey incident , Chris told Claire that he was beginning to not trust the BSAA anymore. there were a select few agents that he did trust , but the rest of the organization had rubbed him the wrong way when they decided to cover up the incident rather than call it what it was. when they would see each other , Chris had begun teaching Claire a new way to send and receive messages between them that couldn't be traced. he knew that the knowledge would come in handy sooner than they'd like. because of his suspicions surrounding the BSAA and new umbrella , Chris formed an elite unit within the ranks of the BSAA and called it the hound wolf squad. within months , Chris and his unit went rogue in order to track a biologist and cult leader named Miranda.

after having dealt with Chris' disappearing act before , the BSAA immediately called in Claire. they requested that she took leave from terrasave in order to help the BSAA search for the hound wolf squad. rather than take a leave , Claire permanently retired from terrasave and instead joined the BSAA. she knew that she was being watched very closely , but she was okay with that. she wanted to find her brother just as much as they did and had no problem being the center of attention until it was time to turn it around on them.

CLAIRE REDFIELD

claire is originally from the resident evil franchise

claire is around five and a half years younger than chris. when she was thirteen , their parents were killed in a suspicious car accident. rather than go into foster care or go to live with distant relatives , chris decided to become claire's legal guaridan. he enlisted in the air force and brought claire with him , though she stayed on base with the family of one of the members of chris' unit , the burtons. during this time , claire was being home schooled by kathy burton along with their daughters moira and polly. claire grew very close to the burton women , and she also grew even closer to her brother. she would train with him on hand to hand combat and weapons , learning his training alongside him during his basic training for the air force.

by the time she'd turned eighteen and graduated high school , she and chris were as close as possible , both calling each other their best friends. he encouraged her to go to college , even when she suggested joining the air force with him , stating that she deserved a normal life. she gave in and enrolled in washington university in st. louis to study journalism.

she enjoyed her time in college , taking interesting classes and meeting even more interesting people , but she kept in contact with her brother. they'd never gone longer than a week without checking in , even when he was on missions out of state , and even that was rare. claire could count on hearing from her brother every three days at least , so when two weeks had gone by without a message or an answer to her calls and texts , claire knew something was wrong.

the last message he'd sent her had been about going back to raccoon city , that there had been trouble but ' alpha team was on the way to clean up the mess '. he'd promised to update her later , both having been born in raccoon city , missouri , and had lived there until their parents had died over six years prior. but there had never been an update , never been any contact since. that was not like chris at all.

so claire decided to leave school and go find her brother.

while investigating the raccoon city police department , claire found papers that suggested he'd gone to europe on a mission , but the letters sounded off. claire wasn't in the mood to trust anything after going so long without speaking to her brother , but she had to find out for herself. booking the flight , claire went to an umbrella facility in paris , france. there , she was kidnapped and taken to a different and secure location , rockfort island , where she was held prisoner only for a short amount of time. the man who'd captured her , rodrigo , decided to let her go after realizing the complex was overrun with the dead. she leaves and tries to find a way off the island , meeting steve in the meantime. together , they find out that umbrella had been surveilling chris for a long while. using the same computer that held the information about chris , claire reached out to leon for assistance getting off the island.

eventually chris does come and rescue claire , but not until after steve is dosed with the t veronica virus , mutates , and then is killed trying to protect claire. together , chris and claire leave the island.

after ensuring that everything was alright , and that they wouldn't go so long without speaking again , chris and claire parted ways. claire continued her college education while chris continued working with the military , creating a unit called the BSAA in order to combat the bioterrorism that umbrella was committing.

after graduating college and becoming a full fledged journalist , claire was recruited by a company called terrasave. the company's main goal is to provide aid to communities affected by bioterrorism or medical related incidents. terrasave works outside of the government , though most often their goals are aligned with local government. claire knew that she belonged with terrasave , it was her own way of helping her brother fight the ongoing biological warfare.

claire continued work with terrasave throughout the events of RE6 and RE7 but immediately following the dulvey incident , it became obvious to chris that blue umbrella and the BSAA weren't to be trusted. after leaving clues that only she would understand , chris went rogue against the BSAA and went on the run. knowing that he would need someone on the inside , when the BSAA came to recruit claire for the task force that was meant to find the hound wolf squad , she enthusiastically said yes.

throughout the years leading up to romania , and during romania , claire is a full member of the BSAA. she participates in missions and sits in on briefs , though her main mission is to find her brother. she knows that the BSAA doesn't fully trust her , but she's doing her best to help them see that they all want the same thing ― chris to come home.
