Respite for the Weary

Summary:

Luke, still affected by the loss of Professor Layton, has a difficult time falling asleep at Rouge's Tavern. He sneaks downstairs, and overhears Phoenix and Rouge talking about what happened to Maya. Phoenix's demeanor troubles Luke, and he wonders if it's possible to tell Mr. Wright that he completely understands what he's going through.

#i played it full like. 4 years ago maybe. my memory is accurate enough. maybe 5?#plvspw #plvsaa #the court sessions were good and the puzzles were fun and the investigations were even better than regular AA investigations #because you get to do layton puzzles in between!! it's fun!!!#what. what do you mean the ending was bs and didnt explain everything #have you even PLAYED either franchise #fake town fake people hallicunogenic gas lmao god i will NEVER let go how they mashed entire Layton trilogy twists together #also the music goes #i remember rly liking the AA OST bits since they were old school but had that sweet layton violin over it #listen i WILL replay plvsaa actually! i started the first chapter #but im saving it for when i played all the other AA games #i just. need some Phoenix and Maya content saved for later okay. I MISS THEM SO MUCH

2022 Fanfic Meme

Most popular story: “Jason Todd...Ghostbuster?” with a total of 366 kudos and 4854 hits! (Though I will admit, I was hit with a kudos bot last year, so my kudos are skewed unfortunately)

Story I’m most proud of: Again, “Jason Todd...Ghostbuster?” has to be the one I’m most proud of because it’s my longest one with almost 50k words and I’m not even half-way through what I have planned!

Funniest: It’s a toss up between “What Do Bees Make?” and “More Than Meets the Eye.” WDBM? was a crack fic I wrote at midnight because I love the ‘What do bees make? Honey? Yes, Dear?’ gag. MTMTE is also funny because I love writing Karliah just growing increasingly exasperated at the stupid and weird things about Duna (my Dragonborn for the fic).

Saddest: "To Live Another Life,” hands down. I wrote this after a friend mentioned how if you go back to the prison cell you start off in with the Alternate Start Skyrim mod, there’s a skeleton in the bed, kinda implying you had died and were reincarnated into your current character. Legit teared up when I wrote it. (I was also (lovingly) shamed by my friend who beta’d it because I wrote the draft in Comic Sans)

Least Popular: “More Than Meets the Eye,” but I expected it because it’s an OC story. However, I am pleased to see I have some subscribers for it! Also, funny thing to note. One of my friends had actually read this fic before I told them I wrote fanfiction.

Most Cringe-worthy: I try to be proud of what I wrote, so I’m gonna take a page out of wordsofawanderingsoul’s book and go with fics that were out of my comfort zone. “To Live Another Life” was definitely something that was new territory because I had never written second-person POV before. It was a fun exercise, and I’m happy with how it turned out.

Favorite opening line(s): From “What Do Bees Make?” “They’re totally into each other.”

“I don’t think they are.”

“Apollo, I can literally hear the affection in their voices,” Athena deadpanned as she pointed to her ear. “Plus, you still can’t accept the fact that Klavier has been flirting with you since day one, so I'm taking your opinion with a grain of salt right now.”

Favorite Closing line(s): Also from “What Do Bees Make?” Neither of the two men said anything for a few seconds, both content to keep their faces hidden.

“Well, Phoenix, I believe that, as some of my students would say, we’ve been ‘had,’” the Professor sighed.

Phoenix groaned in agreement before he slowly removed his hands from his face.

“Okay, you got us.” He moved back to the couch and grabbed Layton’s hand. “Hershel and I are dating.”

A Daredevil/Batman: Under the Red Hood (comic) crossover fic

Basic plot summary: Jason settles down in Hell’s Kitchen after his confrontation with Batman ended with his throat getting slit by a batarang and leaving him unable to speak. He ends up meeting Matt Murdock at a church and has an enlightening encounter with the man.

Interview under the cut!

1. How long have you been in the Ace Attorney fandom?

Since 2016. I had been told by friends that the games were good, but I didn't actually get into them until the anime came out and I decided to start watching that first. Loved it and managed to play all five main games plus AAI, AAI2, and PLvsPW so I was caught up before SOJ came out. Then bought that day 1 and never looked back.

2. What's your favorite aspect of the Narumayo ship?

I love that they're friends, first and foremost, and they love each other whether you see it as romantic or platonic.

3. What is your favourite thing to draw/write? And are you working on anything at the moment?

I like writing anything, pretty much. I love domestic slice of life, I love angst, I love smut. Anything goes when it comes to this ship. Unfortunately I'm not currently working on anything, and even when I am actively writing, I mostly write one-shots that don't take a lot of planning.

4. (If applicable) What are some other fandoms you create for?

Basically none. I have seven fics total on my AO3 that aren't Ace Attorney related. Compared to 73 that are Ace Attorney fics, a few of which have multiple chapters worth of one shots in them as a collection. I guess within the Ace Attorney fandom I don't only write narumayo fics. I'll write basically any pairing with a few exceptions and I like doing gen or family type fics too.

5. Are there any of your previous works you'd like to share?
