am mostly writing these rambles for you monica, so i hope you’re looking over here. i was supposed to make this into a simple text post with a couple of screenshots but well, this happened instead. i hope you like it :’D

TOP 10 Puen Outifts explained:

10. Home Alone an all-black slacks and dress shirt + gray jacket -combo. i am obsessed with how puen looks in all-black here, especially when he takes the jacket off. he just looks So Good. i can almost ignore the pain and heartbreak. i can almost forget that talay is not there with him. tbh am questioning why he needs to wear something so sexy when he’s missing, yearning, longing, grieving, lamenting.

9. Kannes Film Festival suit a green-brown striped suit with a black shirt under it. out of all the suits puen wears during his time in the other universe, i like this one the most. i also like the one he wears to their first movie premiere (the gray gradient is cool) plus the magenta suit he wears to the wedding, but i do not like his white slacks. tbh in that wedding, talay outshines him so i had to leave that one out. this one however comes with the most fashionable friendgroup, a beautiful bf (in navy blue), and a chest pin i find fascinating. am so sad we see so little of it.

8. The Yellow Jacket a simple jeans + a sleeveless shirt -combo with a light yellow jeans jacket. from my favorite episode, from one of my favorite scenes. i love the soft yellow on puen and how it makes him light up. he absolutely beams when they’re filming the interview video and he gets to tell talay how much it means to him that they got to meet. the outfit also seems to make him extra playful and i love it. a big minus is that this outfit is the one puen wears when we last get to see joob.

7. All denim an all denim outfit with matching jeans and a jeans jacket + a one colored shirt under it. puen wearing denim on denim makes me go wild. every time i see this outfit i just drool a bit bc he looks so fine. what a man. i think he should wear all denim more often, mix it with all the shirts he owns, maybe get a couple of color variations; a faded blue, a darker blue, maybe an all-white one... the options are infinite.

6. The Green Shirt a simple dark green long sleeved shirt and dark jeans. nothing special really but i love how the shirt looks on puen. it shows off his body and arms, makes him look fashionable but super cozy. his hair looks darker and the outfit comes with a plant! also am just very fond of the “love confession” puen makes in this shirt and the satisfied smile he gives when talay ends up looking at him with his mouth open. i support my menace of a man in all of his chaotic life choices.

5. Moonchild a combination of black pants, a dark blue shirt, and a gradient black & white jeans jacket. the jacket here is truly a legend. i love it so much. but the outfit also works so well without the jacket, and i think that makes it even better?? two outfits in one! so handy. puen looks sinful in the plain blue shirt, and with the jacket on, just very cuddly. one hug is all i ask for, dear sir.

4. The Suspenders black slacks with a simple white dress shirt and suspenders. someone really said here, “we’re going to introduce puen in the first part of the first ep and leave the whole audience reeling” and got away with it. they really had to give puen the most glorious five minutes of his life and i think i am still somewhere in the ditch bc of it. this outfit has everything; it looks snazzy, his waist is snatched, hair is styled, tits are out. it comes with the smirk of a pleased cat and the fond look he gives to talay’s antics, truly the best thing ever.

3. First date dark jeans and a simple, v-necked red t-shirt. puen owns three variations of this same red shirt for all the big events of his own love life: the first date, falling in love in the glass house, and the big realization after the bucket hat. each shirt has different length sleeves: t-shirt, long, and sleeveless. my favorite is the first date outfit with a simple red t-shirt bc i get to see all of puen. there’s so much leg and the characteristic hand-on-cocked-waist -lean. i love the flirtiness. less is really more with this guy.

2. Reunion tastes sweet light blue jeans and a sleeveless, light gray-brown top. it’s really a tie between this sleeveless shirt and the orange one that comes later but am obsessed with this episode so. also i love, love, love the scene where they’re sitting on the stairs bc puen’s hair looks like that. he looks so cool and pretty and cute, and then makes me so sad bc am so soft for him. someone really decided to put all the comfort in this one man and then dress him like this and yeah, i really get it talay, i also would count every minute without him.

1. Drunken night out a dark blue button-up with black jeans. tbh the biggest reason i even wanted to make this list was this outfit bc how could you not mention it?? my absolute favorite outfit on puen hands down. the blue denim shirt! the skin tight jeans! the goofy smile and drunken stumble! the soft hair! gosh he looks so good but is also such a baby. i don’t want to talk about him sprawling on the stairs like that bc i have a reputation to keep. bonus points for the snacks bc puen gets to enjoy too little of those! and gosh don’t even get me started on those puppy eyes, my heart is melting.

Bonus: Homecoming pajamas a set of light blue-gray pajamas, didn’t include this one to the list itself bc pajamas don’t count as proper clothing right? but god, i never really thought about what puen wears when he sleeps so i remember just squealing when i saw him like this. he’s so soft! so baby!! idk how talay isn’t just instantly cuddling the heck out of him. he looks so huggable it makes my hands itch. and he’s so happy like this! i bet he never wants to change out of his pajamas again.

When it came out that Leia was supposed to be a product of a one night stand; I had this aching suspicion that Callie was casted as Eric's daughter. Not Donna. It wouldn't surprise me if that came out as the truth.

I don't think so, as Netflix had rejected that proposal, and iirc, the creators described a son coming to Red and Kitty's door. And, I think casting came some time after that first proposal was scrapped and after the second proposal was put into motion.

However, I do think the remnants of that idea remained in their second proposal, and its execution. It is readily apparent, by how they cultivated Leia's character, and who they chose to play her.

1. Leia is firmly designed as Eric's daughter, with Donna's traits being an afterthought. She is pretty much a smarter Eric with Donna-ish interests (but cultivated in an Eric-y way).

This would be fine, as a whole, if the other new characters were unique entities, but all the other new characters were made in this way. With the intended OG character as an overwhelmingly obvious base, but with a couple of differentiating traits. Like Gwen is way more extroverted and dynamic than Hyde, Nate is a jock (unlike clumsy Kelso), etc. They did better with some new characters than others. Nate and Ozzie, in particular, are the worst of the bunch.

2. Callie can easily pass as Eric's daughter, but Eric's daughter with someone else. Not with Donna, because there are physical traits that don't mesh with both Eric and Donna being her parents, unless something from two/three generations back suddenly popped up. Her parents and grandparents all have light colored eyes; where did the dark brown eyes come from? Her parents and grandparents are very pale/cool toned, but she has olive skin that tans.

Plus, the first proposal really illustrates how little the Turners care about the characters and the integrity of the OG show (minus season 8, which also had zero integrity). The second, fleshed out version we got is only marginally better, too.

Thus, I think T9S is a result of this weird mix of tunnel vision and adhering to real-life circumstances. With some Star Wars gimmicks sprinkled in for good measure.

1. The Turners were reminiscing about their daughter's Gen X teenagehood in the 90s, and they were willing to discard/contort canon (and ages, as they oddly attempted with Eric) to make it happen. When, obviously, the gang's kids (other than Betsy) would probably be Millennials. Duh.

2. Hyde was omitted (entirely?) due to DM. Jackie and Kelso were plopped together because of Ashton and Mila being together in real life. So JH and KB were likely retconned, as was most of the second half of the show, with only convenient, insignificant details/gimmicks from later seasons remaining. Except for JF and the last few eps, because Mila and Wilmer were putting up a stink.

Thus, T9S is a result of these two major factors, instead of keeping true to the characters. If they did, there would be a That 00s Show revolving around JH and ED's kids, at their houses, perhaps with Eric being a Mr. Feeny type and/or with Hyde being the owner of the kids' default hangout spot, Grooves. But that would never happen, for a variety of real-life reasons, and there's money to be made in an ill-conceived venture instead.

This Week In BL - Japan is BRINGING IT

June 2022 Wk 2

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying the most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Triage (AISplay Mon) Ep 7- This ep was mostly to give movement to the romance plot and since (oddly for me) that’s the bit I find the least engaging I wasn’t as wild about this installment. Next week looks VERY dramatic tho.

Check Out (IQIYI Sat) Ep 1 - This season’s messy gays be messy series! I gotta say I love the intro credits on this one: character + actor names. I need that in all my BL. Our leads are Nine (Chahub) and Daonuea (Best). (My boy Plustor is coming too!) So Daonuea is pining for the boy who ghosted him after a hot fling AND a boss/ex/cheater that wants to date him again. Of course boss & fling turn out to know each other. Best is GOOD. I like an office setting but I’m not wild about the execution here. But the messy exes drama is relatable and fun/different. Captions are quite poor.

KinnPorsche (iQIYI Sat) Ep 10 - Well KimChay moved fast. Meanwhile Kinn’s bodyguards are all pretty naff, letting Tawan get away. The traitor(s) = no particular surprise. Oo death! Also dumb crazy drama gay, but whatevs. I’m mad that everyone looked for Porsche but no one looks for Pete? I guess it’s good to be the boss’s f-toy. Oh, I’m salty abotu this show. Sigh. At least it was an exciting ep?

Sky in Your Heart (Fri YouTube) Ep 2 - It’s perfectly serviceable. I’m not wowed by the chemistry but it’s fine.

My Secret Love (YouTube Sat) Ep 3 - Fake relationship is a go and watching them lampoon BL tropes is kind of fun. No screen caps because, you know, fakel but they covered (deep breath): head in lap, picnic, feeding, back hug, movie date, sharing earbuds, and library assignation. Just because I am having a really hard time keeping this straight (pun intended) here is the character breakdown (aside from the leads): campus star = P’Tim (he comes with portable adorable bestie); pair in the 7 year relationship = P’Park & Lee (who switched departments) - they use rao/ter with each other (cutesy). Everyone else = unimportant.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

To My Star (Korea Viki) Ep 1-2 - YES FINE I’m watching it. I said I was gonna wait but... I CAN’T. OMG I’m so scared. The doorway being used for transition shots between past| |present was very clever. Also my goodness I almost forgot what really good acting looked like in BL! The year separation after a break up is a classic Korean drama plot point that usually comes at the end of a show, not the beginning. It’s going to be interesting and bumpy to watch them deal with this reverse plotting. They better come up with a really good justification for Ji Woo leaving and being that cruel or heads will ROLL. Also, that better be his sister and not an ex girlfriend, I have it up the here with faen fatales. Please don’t betray our trust Hwang Da Seul.

Love in Spring (Korea grey) Ep 5-8 - I love to see a brushing hair trope (in a way I don’t love the usual hair dry trope we get in BL). I have no idea why. Also we had an example of the boy protecting “the girl’s” reputation with fisticuffs. This story reminds me a little of those girl disguised as a boy host club shows we got from Japan for a while – same kind of comedy that is a little beyond my ken and slightly jarring. At ep 7 it finally got good as the leads develop a genuine friendship. The snake thing was odd though. To be fair there’s a lot of odd in the show. I’m enjoying the tension and liking it more each ep.

Plus & Minus (Taiwan Viki *rec* & GaGa Fri) Ep 10 - The dreaded unnecessary break up. At least we understand the bar owner’s motivations. I don’t know where I am with this show now, but I do like that its general assumption is that everyone is at least a little bit bi, and since I too like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, I’m not opposed to seeing it on screen.

Want to See You (Vietnam YouTube) Ep 1 - Boy likes his baths, that’s for certain. Standard psycho female character and a basic but uncommon servant/master set up. I’m getting Jane Eyre or something. Nice kisses already but this is no Mr. Cinderella. (The bar has been set, VBL, now I know what you can do.)

Getaway (Singapore Mon YouTube) Ep 2-3 - Look, I’m the first to admit that there’s a lot of bad and awkward acting in this genre, but for some reason… it feels a lot worse in English. I like how unabashedly gay this show is but (how do I put this nicely?) if I’m gonna watch English language gay-vacay shizz – I’d rather watch Fire Island. Still, as one might expect, the heat execution is good (Taiwan still holds the crown, tho).

BLs That Finished this week!

Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul (iQIYI Weds) Ep 12fin - I was mixed over the sides, but in the end, they were a cute couple (weird kisses thing notwithstanding). This show had a very Korean style unnecessary-separation in the last ep. But I guess I’m used to that now. Are KarnNat the best Thai origin couple at domesticity? Seems like. The show’s ending reminded me A LOT of Love: Life on the Line (Director’s Cut) so if you like that you’ll like this one, but it’s not strictly HEA. I thought it suited the narrative so I’m not mad. But I’m not sure I’ll ever rewatch it either. Like Peach of Time, everything was set up for us, so the end wasn’t surprising and it managed to be substantially happier than Peach or Grey Rainbow (shudder). So maybe I rate it higher because it could have been a lot worse? ARGH. Decisions. 7/10 RECOMMENDED WITH RESERVATIONS Full review here.

Close Friend 2 (Viki Thur) Ep 6fin - I liked the dealing with celebrityhood and fandom storyline, although I thought it was too generous to those fans. But in the end this is, like the first installment, fine but forgettable. I did like the breaking the fourth wall and mentioning each other‘s projects at the end. That was fun insider trading. (I guess we get a season 3 featuring DunBas, not my favorite. Shrug.) Anygay, both pairs did well but in terms of content and story, I wasn’t wowed. 6/10 WORTH WATCHING BUT FLAWED

Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai! AKA Mr Unlucky Has No Choice But to Kiss! (Japan GaGa *rec* & Viki Fri) Ep 8fin - since this is in the My Love Mix-Up vein of JBL, I was not expecting a final kiss. I consider us lucky that we got the launch kiss, quite frankly. That didn’t stop me from being a touch disappointed, but the final boyfriends cuteness wrestling in bed (VERY Cherry Magic of them) was perfectly serviceable. A solid little JBL. 8/10 RECOMMENDED

Gossip

I still can’t believe they’re allowing it but it really does seem like Korea is bringing us A Shoulder To Cry On starring Jaehan (oldest) & Yechan (maknae) BOTH from Kpop group OMEGA X. Enemies to lovers, school set, 12 eps, due out in the fall.

Also in Korea announced adaptation of Lily's comic Heesu in Class 2 . About a shy unpopular boy with a secret crush on best friend. Looks pretty pat but I’m always open to KBL school-set stuff.

Japan announced BL adaptation of Minamoto Kazuki's comic: Kabesaa Doujin Sakka no Neko Yashiki-kun wa Shounin Yokkyuu wo Kojirasete iru starring Matsuoka Koudai (I know him from Five) and Nakao Masaki (Kakafukaka, Bow Then Kiss - he’s a BIG DEAL ya’ll) slated to be released in October. (source) The description from Crunchyroll is up on MDL but it’s incomprehensible.

Cambodia released a trailer of upcoming Khmer BL មើលបានហាមសម្លឹង AKA Eye Contact. We are in “don’t bet on it happening (or finishing)” territory.

New Thai drama My Coach seems to have a BL side plot.

Art Adore En got a trailer. Country boy studying at a university in Bangkok catches the eye of his senior.

2 Moons 3: The Ambassador announced a cast. That came out of nowhere.

This is one of those times that I really wish I read Thai and could confirm it, but Thai BL actor Copter Panuwat seems to have come out as non-binary. Copter has always been super supportive since the 2 Moons days. Someone at MDL is ON IT and has updated Copter’s profile to they/them in the bio section, even if the MDL system doesn’t offer it as an option (someone oughta change the back end code on that).

In Case You Missed It

Korean BL Blueming is getting a movie version. Since this aired on iQIYI not Viki, not sure if inter fans will get to see it.

iQIYI has picked up SantaEarth’s friends-to-lovers (possibly sad) BL My Only 12% from Wabi Sabi, coming late summer.

Japan is airing a BL comedy-drama adaptation of Naruko's Fudanshi Bartender no Tashinami AKA Accomplishment of Fudanshi Bartender streaming on FOD. About a fancy pants bartender who is secretly a nerdy BL fan.

3 BLs have been submitted for consideration to the Seoul International Drama Awards 2022: Semantic Error (Korea), I Promised You The Moon (Thailand), and My Beautiful Man (Japan).

The boys from Kissable Lips are pair branding. (They are rumored to have a new series The Circumstances Of Pungdeok Villa Room 304.) I mention this because it’s my first time seeing a Korean pair consciously use Thai techniques on their social media.

We’re hitting the Thai summer slow down season, thank heavens. There was too much for even me to keep up with for a while there. I could used some down time, except Japan won’t let me!

Monday: Japanese BL Old Fashion Cupcake adapted from the manga of the same name by by Sagan Sagan (trailer on FB). Seems to be a hyung romance: office set, employee/boss, age gap. About a subordinate with a crush on his boss - seems a bit Cherry Magic light? Only 5 episodes, coming to Viki!

Thursday: Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai AKA I Only Want To See You only 4 eps, starts June 16, Hulu JP. Not sure on inter.

Friday: Senpai, Danjite Koidewa! AKA Senpai, This Can’t be Love! is taking over Mr Unlucky’s time slot on Fridays, reported as picked up by GaGa for international although I’m showing it listed for Viki.

Oh yeah and then also: Love Mechanics disaster muffins start Saturday on WeTV.

Ok I get that direct viewership is affected by general tv demo decline, different weekdays, time slots, etc. But that doesn't explain the lower +3 and +7 of GK vs Walker. If GK is more popular, it should have higher numbers

Hello idiot that self-argued, "I know these things, I swear, but then I whine and point out I don't, and pretend this counts as a challenge. I'm going to make confused monkey noises on why GK is in top HBO and Walker isn't and hasn't been for 2 years beyond the week it was first uploaded. I am being very logical."

I cannot emphasize enough I desire nothing more than you to stop being combative ignoramuses in my inbox.

Also please see a therapist if you think Walker has averaged higher. One day that you perceive as low because you simply do not understand the TV environment does not make up for three whole seasons where Walker was not reaching the number you are pointing a finger that GK didn't for one whole episode. I am over you people trying to find a way to be valid

If you understand days, you understand that Tuesday operates at 20% deficit compared to the rest of the week. If you understand that particular night it did 20% worse than the prior Tuesday and not just on GK. If you understand time slots you know that 9:00 p.m. comes after 8:00 p.m. and has low ratings. And if you check there plus threes and plus sevens and the percentile of who has performed in the range of 0.2 this year, Walker managing one or two episodes over a 20 episode season is not the flex you think it is sweetheart.

And if you understand reality, Walker has never been on a top digital chart ever beyond the first week that it's content was bulk uploaded and held the slot for that week. Not after not since and frankly never again. Walker independence is not the same show. I have mentioned very often it does well digitally. And this doesn't even TOUCH covering the normal decline on show premieres in almost every show ever, GK's held out +2 eps longer than normal, and that 20% value. Now what's 100% minus 60%. That's right, 40%. GK premiered at 0.1. If it declined according to the night it would have been a 0.04. It wasn't. Now take the concern trolling and start applying it to "why did walker only round to 0.2 on 10% of its season?" instead of cosplaying being concerned on why GK supposedly didn't for one whole episode.

Sit on a tack and spin and realize that all you did was verify my last post that you guys continue to send combative asks that only illustrate that you don't have any idea what you're talking about while claiming you do

Saying you understand it and then turning around and in the same sentence pointing out how much you don't understand it reads like a child that is trying to say they understand how to read and pointing at the word bird and saying that they think it means cat. Stop

Saying in words that you understand something only to immediately illustrate that you don't does not prove that you actually know the thing that you just proved you did not I do not understand why this is complicated for you guys to compute internally and process to yourselves.

Somehow i'm expected to educate an entire fandom of stubborn ignorant motherfuckers that don't want educated, they just want to argue to feel smart, while proving perpetual mental vacuity to anyone but their own friends lined up to hear the wind tunnels blowing through their own ears. You guys don't understand scale for SHIT, you're all obsessed with your personal shows to slapfight about like ten year olds and pretend there's no media industry with actual rules, like it's some made up gambit you can all pee and opinion about and somehow all be right, because none of you ever take accountability after years of being wrong.

You don't understand linear, you don't understand ratings, comms, productions, studios, mergers, you don't understand any of the large scale shit in play, you don't understand the metrics and yet for some godsbaned reason you still feel both compelled and entitled to argue as long as you tell yourself "I understand it" first and expect me to chew this garbage cud after years of this cyclic bullshit.

I think I might make this a weekly or biweekly thing to keep track of my BLs and to hold myself accountable to watch them. I was in a BL rut for a couple weeks so I am now watching a lot of finished BLS. These will not contain spoilers. I will just tell you guys what I like and dislike about the show. The episode I am on is in parentheses.

Gameboys S2 (Ep 5)

Finally figured out how to watch it as I live in America (if you want to know just send me an ask)

This is one of my comfort BLs so I was very excited for Season 2

I like how they incorporate scenes from the movie, but at the same time adding new scenes for more context

You kinda get to see more of Terrence and Wesley’s relationship

Unforgotten Night (Ep 8)

I was really excited for this show when the trailer first came out

I feel as though I really like the characters, but the plot is not all the way there

Something about this show is not letting me drop it, but I feel the mafia plot could have been better

I thought the BDSM part was gonna be more prominent in the show

Vice Versa (Ep 5)

One of the best BLs I am watching rn

I love JimmySea and their acting

The plot is so good and I cannot wait for more

If there is one BL that would recommend for you to watch it is this one (and another one later on the list)

Plus & Minus ep 8: a Serious Review™

#plus and minus #plus & minus #plus & minus ep 8 #I mean...I thought it might be soft and full of fluff #but it was SO SOFT #I love all four of them #now I have my predictions for the coming angst...#so don't read on if you don't want to know #but I think the woman who wants the divorce #is zheng ze shou's mother #this only works if she left when he was so young #and doesn't recognise her because his dad hid all her pictures #but I can see it as a possibility #I'm not sure of the conflict between jian and yuki though #and actually I don't want to make a prediction for them #anyway I love this show and these soft darlings #and I'm wondering what the purpose of that last after-the-credits scene was...#it felt like they were trying to push a message #are they going to leave us with a cliffhanger and then make a movie which will be in the cinema???

BL Tag Game

I was tagged by @25shadesoffebruary thank you for tagging me! :)

If you had to watch one drama forever which would it be?

Bad Buddy is my comfort show, I love it so much and it is genuinely such an excellently crafted show (and also the first BL I watched ever ((back in January)) so it is sentimental).

If you could change the ending of a drama, which would you choose?

As much as I love the ending and think it fit the tone of the show, I would change the ending of Miracle of Teddy Bear. It may cheapen the show a little, but I like happy endings dammit!

I would also change the ending of Plus & Minus - it started out so good and the ending fell really flat. Same with Kinnporsche - the writing went really sideways imo after episode 8 and the final episode was... something.

While I wouldn’t change the ending of History 3 Trapped, I would add a special reunion episode (side note but the anime No 6 is also in this same boat).

Name your favourite drama and who your favourite character was.

I’m going to cheat and list 3 because making decisions is difficult.

1. Bad Buddy - Pran

2. Triage - so many but if push comes to shove I’d say Tol

3. A Tale of Thousand Stars - Tian

Name a drama you dropped within a few episodes.

I’ve only dropped 3 dramas in total, so Check Out and That’s My Candy. Check Out was especially disappointing because I loved the special ep.

Name a popular drama you've never watched and why.

Lots, since I am a drama newbie. A relatively popular one I have never watched and don’t intend to is TharnType. Some of the more popular ones I intend to watch sometime are SOTUS, Love by Chance, Utsukushii Kare, and the rest of the History series.

Name a drama you regret watching.

The episodes of Check Out I watched - I wish I had just kept the special as a one shot in my brain. Other than that I don’t really regret anything I have watched, even the shows that weren’t very good I still finished because there were enjoyable elements in them. The only possible exception to this is WBL2

Name a drama you thought you'd never watch but did and ended up liking it.

Honestly I didn’t think I would get this into BL in general - I assumed it would be like watching the yaoi I had dipped my toe into in high school, and we all know some of the uncomfortable tropes in old school yaoi asgkhjhxsjkd. There are definitely series which show this lineage more, but I started watching at a good time it seems, when more queer people are involved in production and there is a greater variety of stories starting to be told. Even the more tropey shows I have watched have been for the most part enjoyable.

Man, I hope I worded that ok, I can’t get it to read like I don’t have a giant chip on my shoulder oops.

Specifically I didn’t think I would like 2Gether at all - I just watched for background for Still 2Gether because I wanted to complete P’Aof’s filmography. While there were parts I absolutely hated (cough the way they wrote Green cough cough) I did mostly enjoy watching.

Name a pairing you want to see.

MilkLove full series, please please PLEASE. I also think Gigie Chanunphat and Jan Ployshompoo would absolutely kill it in a GL. I have more GL pairings I want than BL honestly, though I am still holding out for NanonChimon. Edit: I also really want Mild and Baifern to do a GL together, their dynamic on 46 Days was so fun

Name a pairing you didn't think had any chemistry.

BrightWin. Also both pairings from Star & Sky, though I am not sure that that isn’t a case like OffGun, where as they got more comfortable they would develop chemistry and not just come across awkward.

Name a pairing you've seen in another drama that you like.

I am confused what this question is asking. Is it who we want to see more of? In that case, ForceBook please please please, and I will never say no to EarthMix.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Unforgotten Nights (Weds on GaGa) Ep 1 - why yes I do like it better than KP, expectations are a bitch, aren’t they? TRASH WATCH REBORN!

KinnPorsche (Sat iQIYI) Ep 12 - This ep featuring dum arguments, bad pottery and questionable hair. Why is Chay suddenly in an awful wig? Did he have ror dor? VegasPete are saving this show but still a dead hedgehog does not a cactus make. (Well THERE’S a sentence.)

Sky in Your Heart (Fri YouTube) Ep 4 - It’s cute I guess.

Love Mechanics (Sat WeTV) Ep 1 - oh it’s great, also very very messy, but in my part of the world you need a sub to watch it and I am just not going to. I love YinWar, but not enough.

Check Out (Sat IQIYI) Ep 3 - Getting back together with your ex is a bitch especially when she is? I guess we know why Daonuea was ghosted. This is definitely a messy cheating story, although actually nothing happened.

My Secret Love (Sat YouTube Sat) Ep 5 - no ep this week, resumes next week

Triage (Mon AISplay) Ep 9 - I’m still waiting on this ep.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Old Fashion Cupcake (Japan Mon Viki) Ep 3 - OMG this show is wonderful, glorious, life affirming, charming. Just leaves me with the biggest grin on my face. Frankly it’s the only BL I am genuinely enjoying right now.

To My Star 2 (Korea Viki) Ep 5-6 - oh it is extremely painful and I just can’t. Pass me another tissue and more ttopokki. (I may be disassociating with BL because of this show.)

Senpai, Danjite Koidewa! AKA Senpai, This Can’t be Love! (Japan Fri Viki) Ep 2 - I don’t love this one, but I love the flipped POVs. It’s taking me a while to warm to Kaneda, but I finally found him cute when I realized how painfully subby he is. Also a TOTAL praise slut. I’m not there yet but I think I’m getting there. No ep next week, resumes week after.

Plus & Minus (Taiwan Viki *rec* & GaGa Fri) Ep 12fin - Why the baseball field? That bit I don’t get. This is probably the most cheek-kissy couple ever – kings of the trope! Both couples are cute and kiss pretty in this one. All in all, I’m satisfied. It’s not groundbreaking, I liked all the cameos. I don’t know why Vicky says that there are 15 episodes on this one. Obviously this is the end. In conclusion, solid sweet unassuming little show. Full review here. 8/10 RECOMMENDED

Want to See You (Vietnam YT) Ep 3-4 - The faen fatale character is just so asinine in this one. The brother is truly adorable though.

Love in Spring (Korea grey) Ep 9-10 . . .

Frankly, I picked up Alchemy of Souls which is the Kdrama take on a wuxia dumpster fire I have been waiting for. It’s het, but I do not care because it’s like CW level craptostic and apparently that was all I wanted in life. What I’m saying is: I have a limited capacity for flowing robes, scenery chewing villains, wooden female leads, and slightly terrible fight sequences. So I am less enamored of Love in Spring, and I already wasn’t much enamored of it. I’m not saying I’m DNFing, just that my judgement is off.

Gossip

W-Story, the Korean production house behind Where Your Eyes Linger, Sherry Blossoms, You Make Me Dance, and Mr. Heart is doing a new project: Jun and Jun. No further info.
