Ukraine Uncovered: The Current Situation

The recent political and military turmoil in Ukraine has displaced a significant number of Ukrainian citizens, many of whom have sought refuge in neighbouring countries like Romania, Hungary, and Poland. As a result, many organizations have been established to provide aid and support to Ukrainian refugees.

One such organization is PlayForUkraine, founded by Jaaikaran Chanana, which aims to support Ukrainian refugees in countries such as Romania by providing them with footballs, pumps, shinpads, and other essentials needed to play the beautiful game. The foundation also works to raise awareness about the plight of Ukrainian refugees and encourages people to donate to the cause.

Through our journey, we have collaborated with charities such as UNICEF, United Way Romania Foundation, and the Organization for Aid to Refugees which has an ongoing appeal to support Ukrainian children affected by the crisis.

Football is also a way to support Ukraine. Football clubs like Shakhtar Donetsk and Metalist Khariv are popular in Ukraine and supporting them not only helps the team but also the country. Also, the Ukrainian national football team is a source of pride for the country and is a way to show support for Ukraine.

Lastly, it's important to note that mental health support is also necessary during times of crisis. It's important to keep in mind that many refugees have gone through traumatic experiences and may need support to cope with their mental health.

先日のオンラインレッスンでやったボルシチ。 ボルシチって実はウクライナ料理だったって知ってた？ 毎日悲しいニュースの流れるウクライナ。 メニューに今回選んだのはたまたまですが（はじめはおでんにしようと思ってた）、タイムリーというかなんというか…。 先日、ストーリーズに20年くらい前の留学時代の写真をupして、見た方もそうじゃない方もいたと思う。 私と一緒に写っていたのは、ウクライナ人の友達。 彼女と私は語学学校の同じクラスで、まだどう英語で伝えたらいいのかわからなかった頃から親しくしてくれた。 当時、クラスに日本人は私だけだったから、今から思うと割とみんな気を使ってくれていたと思う。 あの頃のことは、本当に楽しかったことしか記憶にないくらい。 そんな中であの写真は、 「彼と日帰りでブルージュ（ベルギー）行くんだけど、一緒に行かない？」 と、誘ってくれて。 行ったはいいけど、あの写真撮った後急な大雪で観光できずにカフェで過ごした。 なんか拙い英語でお互いのパスポート見せ合って、家族のこと、国のこととか話したなぁ。 私の持って行ったおにぎりを「お寿司みたいね」と言って、何度もありがとうと言いながら食べた彼女。 そんなに大したものでもないのになぁと恐縮した。 そんなことを久しぶりに開いたアルバムから思い出してしみじみしたり、テレビから流れてくる映像みて、涙出てきたり、ここ数日間は情緒不安定。 こんなことをSNSに書いていいものか悩んだけど、友達の国がこんなことになって、なんだか他人事ではいられなくて。 どんな理由があっても戦争なんてしてはいけない。 そう言われて育った私には、起こっている現実の意味がわからない。 小さな子に泣きながら「生きたい」なんて言わせる世界はなんなの？って思う。 1日も早く悲しいニュースを見なくてよくなる日が来てほしい。 そして、彼女の無事と幸せを祈り、祈る力を信じたい。 #cooking_workshop8 #cookingclass #cookinglesson #cookingclassonline #playforukraine #ellegourmetjp #料理教室 #料理教室千葉 #ボルシチ は#ウクライナ料理 #エルグルメ #フードクリエイター部 #宇田川多眞季 https://www.instagram.com/p/CaeWXPBlTrl/?utm_medium=tumblr

Play the game or even just keep the site open in your browser and it helps send cyber attacks to targetted Russian sites used by the military, as well as financial institution. They’ve succesfully knocked a load of sites offline for up to 5 hours now, and todays included a few banks as well as Gazprom. It just relies on a constant stream of people playing or at least having the website open. It won’t stop the war but every disruption helps!

A website has been developed that attacks servers of Russian sites used by their military to disrupt and knock them offline. It works as you play the game or even just if you have it open in your browser.

Sharing the twitter rather than just the website scroll through to see it’s safe and verfied by various Ukrainian tech/media companies.

For anyone else struggling with doomscrolling the game is also a good fun but mindless way to break from the news.
