I am deeply obsessed with the manuscript as the closing track of the anthology. returning to that first big life altering heartbreak, the one that inspired some of the most acclaimed and beloved work of her career, but it's a distant past now and it's almost as though it happened to someone else. and then, in the wake of all the intense loss and turbulence that the past two hours have documented, she knows what the agony was for. because just like all that now remains of that past relationship is the art that came out of it — including all too well, a song that was changed for her over the years into something beautiful and joyful — one day all that will remain of this period will be this manuscript, this album and all its feelings that eventually won't even be hers anymore but will belong to her past self and to its future listeners.

hey, out of curiousity, why are the majority of your posts of people’s pets? is it because like.. these pets are most definitely dead now and you want to share their memory even if you didn’t know that pet? or because theyre just easy to find on dead flickr accounts?

It’s what you first said about sharing their memories, and more specifically the reason for that is that I’ve spent literally my entire life with cats (you’ll notice I mostly post cats) I mean since I was a newborn baby, there has always been at least 2 cats in my house, right now there’s 3.

Also to add on to that, as a little kid I actually had my own digital camera I took pictures on like the ones I share here (the whole reason and passion for this blog really) and I in particular really loved taking pictures of my cats. So it’s kind of personal and nostalgic to me. Here’s one I took of one of my childhood cats Kittenface, died 2013 or 2014 around 20 years old. I don’t know the date on this picture, but I probably took it 2008-2011.

#I have more cat pictures I took as a kid to post I just have to find them first #they’re all either on hard drives or in a physical photo album I’m looking for #this is just the only one I have saved now

嫁殇 (Marry and Mourn) by 椿乐队.

A 嫁殇 (jià shāng) is a Chinese tradition in olden times of either holding a marrying-off ceremony for a woman who died young after already receiving a betrothal gift, or it refers to a ghost wedding for individuals who are already dead (so they can be considered buried together and their families can be joined).

Paul: And the cover story... you know that... the cover where we looked stretched, the photo's stretched... that was the kinda thing would happen then, which... we were all very into that kind of random, little exciting thing that would happen. The photographer was Bob Freeman and he'd taken some pictures round at John's house in Weybridge and we just had our new gear on, the polo necks, and we were doing straight mugshots, the four of us all posing. And he came... back in London he was, it was in someone's flat, and he was showing us, he had a little carousel of slides and he had a piece of cardboard stuck up on a little chair that was album cover sized, and he was projecting the photographs exactly on to it, cause you could imagine exactly how it would look then as an album cover... it was a kind of good way to do it. But just as he... we'd just chosen the photo, we said, well that one looks good... and we all liked, we all liked ourselves in one particular shot, and he was just winding up when the card it was on just fell backwards a little bit, and it elongated the photo and it stretched, and we went 'Oh!' we went, 'Can we have that! Can you do it like that?' and he said 'Well yeah, I can print it like that' and we said 'Yeah, that's it! Rubber soul! Hey-hey!' John: You see there's no great mysterious meanings behind all of this, it was just four boys, you know, working out what to call their new album
