I can't remember if I've seen Warehouse 13 all the way through, so I don't remember what happens when I say this - and NO SPOILERS for anyone who sees this.

As much as I love the friendship between Myka and Pete, and I think the actors were fantastic at it, I do and will always ship them. Like, I get the Wells and Myka thing too, and honestly all the problems would be solved via polyamory or a polycule, but I really do love Pete and Mike because of the chemistry between both the actors and the characters.

Anywho, just needed to get that out. Wells and Bering shippers please don't come for me.

So the Warehouse went to China or whatever, and everyone went on with their lives.

...

“People find Doctor Bering focused, even remote. She has little patience for time-wasters or fools,” said the Chair of English Literature, standing beside the tea trolley that had been wheeled out to herald the end of the evening. “She is that lecturer — the one the students both hope and fear will notice them.”

“I am intimately familiar with both sentiments,” said H.G.

“She is always the complete professional,” went on the Chair, “A conscientious teacher… a brilliant researcher — even I must admit that. The most dependable, reliable member of Faculty...” She gazed across the room. “And then that man comes to town and suddenly she’s a twelve-year-old.”

They both stood watching as Myka, furious, punched Pete Lattimer in the arm, paused to listen to his response, then punched him in the arm again.

“They… have been through a lot together,” murmured H.G.

“Yes, I can recognise the connection. The military wasn’t it?”

“Homeland Security, I understand,” said H.G. giving the Chair a glance that showed she could recognise when someone was delving for information. The Chair gave her a wry smile of acknowledgement.

Pete was now speaking quickly while Myka regarded him with a face of abject disbelief.

“It doesn’t bother you, the bond they share? I know if my husband…” the Chair trailed off and gave H.G. a long look.

She was still watching the two, Myka now gesticulating and Pete putting up his hands in apparent supplication. After a moment she said “Myka never really got to have a childhood. Not an easy one. Pete gives her that, lets her be that person, have that freedom.”

“You never tried to… I don’t know, oust or… diminish Mr Lattimer’s role in Myka’s life?”

H.G’s smile faded. “Only once, very soon after I had met them both. Pete had the kindness to forgive me for that. Eventually.”

She turned to regard the Chair. “You speak as if in condemnation. Yet I suspect that you’re not really that perturbed by Myka’s relationship with Pete Lattimer.”

The Chair laughed. “Perhaps not. Perhaps I was merely… probing. Honestly, seeing Myka like this reminds me of Thanksgiving.”

“Oh?” said H.G. interrogatively.

“I have three sisters. One is a surgeon. Two are lawyers — Raquel is a D.A, of all things. And yet, come Thanksgiving — or Christmas, or a some other family thing — within an hour of being together all four of us are teenagers again, bickering, and pleading with our mother — who is in her eighties now — to listen to our side of the argument.”

“That sounds charming.”

“I… yes, it is,” said the Chair. “So perhaps I can understand Myka’s need for play from time to time.”

“Good,” said H.G tonelessly, and the Chair gave her a quick, appraising look.

“Forgive me,” she offered, “if I have… overstepped.”

“Not at all,” said H.G.

They both stood watching as Myka threw bread rolls at Pete Latimer, who was trying to deflect them with a serving tray. One still hit him in the head, and Myka did an awkward little dance of triumph, arms raised as she shuffled around in her chair.

“Yes, Ms Wells, as I said: I am pleased that Doctor Bering has an outlet for her inner child,” said the Chair, “And yet…”

“… And yet perhaps it is time I took the two of them home before they start setting up some species of obstacle course and propose we all participate in Indoor Games. I quite agree,” said H.G, turning to her and giving a small bow, “Good evening, Doctor Halliwell. I do always enjoy our conversations.”

The Chair nodded back and watched as the slight woman, with a touch on Myka’s elbow and a poke to Lattimer’s ribs, managed to herd her charges out of the hall. An odd trio, she thought. But pleasant enough, all three of them. In their different ways.

Dismissing her thoughts, she turned to the people on her left and joined in the general condemnation of the new anthology of Imagist poetry a rival college had edited.

well, my headcanon for them is that they actually end up together, but nobody knows :D they suspect, but pretend they don't see, like I am pretty sure that they would not want their relationship be known to everyone, at least not in the beginning, maybe half or an year after asjkhajkhd so it would all lead to stupid situations, cos I love when they have fun and just laugh and nobody dies

I have 2 fav moments, actually more, but I can't choose all, the first would be 'we're forever destined to meet at gunpoint' the moment I realized I ship them, the quote that made me go insane, the entire scene, the entire episode is like the best thing ever, whenever I feel down I just go and rewatch for the team, instant boost, best thing ever.

and the second is from 'reset', I will just throw screenshots here, cos I have no ability to put emotions into words when I watch this scene

I knew I will fall for HG Wells before I even saw her, because let's be honest, you can't not fall for Jaime Murray, look at her, she is the best, but I definitely did not expect to fall for the ship so hard, like I did not know anything about this fandom before I started watching it, nobody told me there is tHIS! you have to give a fucking warning here for the newbies, look at me, years passed and I come back to gif every goddamn moment with them, I have not finished giffing it all yet, cos I can't gif some scenes in peace

how do you gif HG's sacrifice without 3 mental breakdowns in between????/ I giffed this part from reset and wanted to chew on my laptop cos you can't just gif it and not yell every second of the process

that's insane they are not canon, but who gives a fuck about canon, cos they are more than canon, they are literally the definition of angst and pain, I will forever hate the show for doing what they did and giving them straight lovers and making myka and... well, I never finished the show cos of that. cos how can I?? anyone remember this show for myka and pete being together? I don't for sure, and I don't really see anybody talking about it after so many years, we remember the good things - which are Bering and Wells lol. yeah, I know there were many great things in the show, stories were fun, characters great, etc, but I remember this show and still gif it and love it due to Helena Wells, and specifically this pairing, I don't think I would have loved it the way I do if there was not HG or this couple. They are WH13 for me. and while being canon is not important for me, just imagining what an impact they would have if the show let them be together, that would be fabulous.

Okay, to start with: I do not have a WIP folder. My Google Docs is a conglomerate of utter disorganization that somehow manages to still function as a repository of writing. Sort of.

Many of these are just snippets that are more or less a ghost of an idea, or that probably deserve their rest in the quiet soil of the cemetery of fleeting ideas. Others are determined to haunt me until I give them some sort of manifestation, or finish shaping their forms. Who knows, maybe y'all will turn one into the other?

I tried to denote different docs that belong to the same general work/universe via asterisks, at first, but at some point its accuracy is questionable. :P

(Okay, there's more, but I have to come to some kind of stopping point. I think once I come to documents I haven't actually opened in like four and a half years, where I have to check what the title actually means and whether or not I've published them… I think I can safely call those "in hibernation" and not really "WIP"s at that point… :P)

I like the above one best because it's just aesthetically pleasing idk xD but it cuts through the w14 image in a kind of weird way because I used the long 1×3 pic on purpose for that so... Didn't turn out to be my final selection bc of that, but it gets the place of honour here!

A bit about the AU:

Honestly, I don't have any clear cut thoughts on this, just many ideas that even contradict each other in parts... Which is why I probably won't write an actual fic for this, but if someone else feels inspired by my idea, feel free to adopt it for yourself!

Both Myka and HG work but don't really work as the the pilot and fighter (May), Helena because of Slightly Unhinged vibes, Myka because she could be reluctant to go back in the field after Sam dies on her watch, so she'd have that in common with May... H.G. of course works better as a scientist, but from characteristics she doesn't have a lot in common with the SHIELD ones

Skye and Claudia would definitely take over the world via computer!

HG could meet Captain America, and bemoan the way they are lost in time together!

The Tummy Date, aka Dirk & Vanessa (WIP): An experimental story of intentional kink that started out as a love letter to my favorite fic of the same name on StomachacheCafe (may it rest in peace). I love the OCs that came from it enough that I'll probably end up writing more for them. Set in the same universe as WAIC.

Wild Mountain Honey (WIP): More self-indulgent goodness centered around a bear shifter named Orson, the small mountain town he calls home, and his love interest Jia, a burnt out big city lawyer who's inexplicably attracted to Orson's big appetite. This is still in its early development stages, but the eventual goal is more or less kinky supernatural romance meets Hallmark movie. Set in the same universe as AMOM.

Kinky Blorbo Micro Manifestos

Ask me about any of these if you want exuberant infodumps and hyperspecific headcanons. Pretty much all of these have at least one back-burner plot bunny attached to them.

John Pope and Sara from Falling Skies: Pope is my blorbo to end all blorbos, the bright star on my horizon, my #1 t-kiss F/O. Sara is his kick-ass girlfriend, one of my favorite female characters ever, and someone I'm working up the courage to also make my t-kiss F/O. He's a trigger-happy berserker who's also a chef and eats more times on-camera than anyone else on the show, she's a plucky former graphic designer who asked him for Pringles at gunpoint—need I say more?

Nick Burkhardt and Sean Renard from Grimm (TV): The stars of the first kinky fanfic I ever felt brave enough to actually post online (which I will continue Someday™). I low-key ship them and Adalind in a kinky OT3. Sean x Cheesecake 4ever (based on an outtake that would've been memed in a larger fandom).

Pete Latimer and Myka Bering from Warehouse 13: This show is best known for its amazing and tragically non-canon femslash ship, Bering and Wells, but y'all, we are sleeping on Pete. He had as much kinky canon material (proportionally at least) as a certain gruff-voiced monster-hunter, right down to a signature favorite dessert, and he may have his flaws but his masculinity is a hell of a lot healthier overall. Meanwhile, Myka is a canonical stress eater with a canonical sweet tooth and a canonical best friend/partner (Pete) who's always trying to get her to relax. Pyka was queerplatonic and I will die on that hill.

Batman/Bruce Wayne and Catwoman/Selina Kyle from Batman: The Animated Series: I've had a long-time crush on TAS Batman, and tummying him is the inevitable result of that. It's practically canon that BatCat is some flavor of kinky, so Selina talking Bruce into self-care via feedism doesn't seem like much of a stretch to me. I'm also 100% down for kinky WonderBat and/or WonderBatCat.

The Leverage OT3 (Eliot Spencer, Alec Hardison, and Parker): I'm still working my way past season one, but I have already made it my life's sidequest to believably tummy these three in various ways. Eliot's a hobbyist chef in desperate need of R&R, Hardison's hacker snacking provides endless windows of opportunity, and Parker has a major sweet tooth and zero inhibitions.

Flip from Slumberland (2022): Y'all. Y'all. I am feral over this man. A goofy outlaw and reluctant father played by Jason Momoa with fangs and a clingy T-shirt who carries snacks in his pockets and spends half the movie touching his belly is illegally tailored to my interests. Also the movie was hilarious and adorable and gave me feels and you should watch it.

Rewatching Warehouse 13 and the episode “Around The Bend” (in addition to indicating that Doylistically some of the writers were X-Files fans while Watsonianly Pete himself might be as goddamn if his paranoid fantasy didn’t bear a hell of a lot of trope similarities) acts as perfect foreshadow-linking that Pete/Myka romantic tension would be temporary but mean Myka/HG would be endgame (yeah I know she had someone at the end but there’s a lot of loose ends that cut-to-flashforward didn’t really tie up/room for that relationship to potentially end) as during his paranoia-induced antagonistic turn he was also making enemies out of Warehouse top brass to protect those he loved and stealing a staff-like artifact with land-affecting disaster-causing powers and about to use it to kill before the team snapped him out of it (in a final confrontation that even took place on rocky terrain). Also another little HG parallel is HG was supposed to be Caretaker until the events that led to her bronzing and there’s all sorts of little hints for Pete (like Leena saying he was special and in tune in the pilot and in the finale his defining moment being his entire time at the Warehouse) that could add up to the theory that unless fate was always going to call Claudia to the Warehouse, in a universe where she never came that variant of Pete could have himself been the destined Caretaker-successor.

Pete, I've clocked you as bi for many seasons. I would absolutely be fine if the endgame for this show was a polycule thing of Wells x Myka x Pete x Steve. There were definitely moments before this I was like, I could totally go for Steve x Pete.

(Also, side note, like how Pete is this white guy in his 40s in 2009-2014 and he's been this supportive of queer people. This show is so goddamn queer positive in its own (probably heavily censured) way.)

Actually, for the first time in a few years, I really want to read fanfiction and might have to do so when done with this episode.

I guess Warehouse 13 made a miracle happen and reawakened my shipping ability AND my desire to read fanfiction.

I will be forever grateful for this. Well, if I find the right fics. Oh god. Oh got that could go very badly.
