paramedic!dick is so special to me<3 it very much i think hits what dick needs and wants out of his civilian life but also directly influences his vigilantism too

my main three takeaways are these:

it's a highly rewarding but deeply traumatizing career and it scratches his innate need to help people without violence & fear

it's a little bit more training than a police officer but i think covers a field of knowledge dick knows but doesn't know intimately like he does criminal justice or law. it would also benefit his "night" job to be more equipped to handle traumatic injuries

ems schedules are chaotic and all over the place especially if the garage is down a paramedic or ALS provider or just overall understaffed but the overall structure of it would be good for dick (if he can balance his work-vigilantism life healthily, depending on how you write him)

One of the things that I enjoy about Teddy and Sah being my faves is that they’re some of not that many Casualty characters with canon ages/dates of birth, because I’m the type of autistic that needs that kind of information. (Honestly, I should make a post of the boring details I’ve gleaned from minor moments in Casualty/reasonable assumptions I have based on canon because I wanna go on about that stuff so much.)

Anyway, the Valentine’s Day post that just went up on the official Instagram technically confirmed some of the other characters’ ages assuming you take it at its word (which, hmmm, I don’t know if an Instagram post is ~really~ canon) and a couple of them are older than I thought based on this. I kinda assumed the new-ish (I guess they’re not new anymore) nurses, or at least Jodie and Cam, were a year-or-so younger than Teddy but this says they’re actually 2 years older than him. Point is: I’m pretty sure, and quite surprised, that Teddy is still the youngest main character (he’s 24).

#I'll have to go back after my last exams to finish this stupid fucking rotation #It's only two weeks but two weeks they're taking from my SummerOfFreeTime I've been dreaming of for YEARS #I was hoping we would be enough students in the unit to take some vacation but it seems like it will not be the case #Like at best I'll get to leave early but I'll have to go eveyday I think #Fuck them lol I'll do anything to leave early and I will go out every night if I want and I'm gonna be so fucking useless #Like I don't even give a shit about this speciality I was curious about it for like two days but that unit fucking sucks the week I spent #there were some of the worst of my whole training and lord knows how shitty our rotations usually are lol #I hate being a medstudent it's the worst fucking status to have in hospital your exploited and underpaid they justify it by telling you it's #your formation not a job but then they make you all the shitty tasks and don't give you formation #+ they ask you stuff you're not supposed to do #Sometimes the paramedical team hates your guts from day one they don't even give you a chance #In this particular unit the nurses were so rude lol can't wait to see them again #Also you depend on other so much sometimes you just have to stay here with nothing to do just in case the might need you later to do some #Random shit again lol

I was out today and I just happened to be standing in front of this woman who was starting to have a seizure. Me and about five other random strangers immediately ran to help

Thankfully I have first aid training and a bunch of the other people who came to help did too

Sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time, and you can make a difference in one strangers life

My team saved a life today. We did that. Everybody is saying I did it and like yeah I did part of it, but the team did it together. I guess I'm still in a bit of shock and numbness, I keep thinking I should feel better about this but I actually feel a bit sick. But like we did that.

I keep forgetting that there’s a very good chance that both Buster and Johnny have concussions at the end of Sing 2. 

Like, when Buster was caught, it was a sudden change in his body’s momentum and could have easily resulted in a concussion (why people get them after falling). 

As for Johnny, he was hit several times with a (likely steel) staff. At one point it even looks like he’s hit in the face. A blow like that or from his falling could also easily result in a concussion.

They at least need to be checked out by paramedics or something I swear, just to be safe. Because knowing those two, they’d just brush off any injuries and just end up making it worse because they do that.

There were several metres between them and an essentially guaranteed fatal drop beneath them. "My name's TK, I'm gonna get us both out of here. Okay?"

my biggest fear is a time jump so big they have to be in a serious relationship. cause no matter how happy they portray them, to me they fumbled it beyond repair? like, I'm stuck on that worse than the parent redemption arc lol the "cool" death story, her being just another woman who flees him (seriously, aren't they tired), the "shouldn't we leave that to the professionals?" and the "she sees me" which was not only rude but also a big ?? to his development. he had already realized he doesn't actually need anyone to see him

no all of that was so crazy and out of pocket I will genuinely eat my fuckin hat if they have her stick around as his love interest
