are dogs or cats more effective?
New Post has been published on https://petnews2day.com/?p=50240
are dogs or cats more effective?
Tumblr media
Branding expert Andy Rice tells Bruce Whitfield about the findings of a new study on animals in advertising.
Any pet lover is a sucker for a cute animal picture or video, and likely to forgive advertising agencies for exploiting their soft spot.
But when it comes to a choice between cats and dogs, which is more effective in drawing customers?
Tumblr media
Andy Rice explores the topic on this week’s Heroes and Zeros on The Money Show.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the answer depends on whether the ads are in tune with consumers’ notions of dog and cat characteristics.
The research is contained in a recent study by SAGE Journals.
If you do a fly-on-the-wall treatment with creative departments in advertising agencies dreaming up their extraordinary new campaign… you’ll find the debate goes at some point to ‘should we have animals on board?’
Andy Rice, Branding and advertising expert
That debate will then turn into a hotly contested argument about whether to choose cats or dogs says Rice.
The findings of the new study show that dogs are usually associated with eagerness and reward-seeking behaviour (no surprise there).
The researchers found those associations meant that consumers were more likely to respond to more promotional advertising that featured dogs… like promotions that happen in-store.
Andy Rice, Branding and advertising expert
By contrast… cats are usually associated with vigilance, which meant that consumers were more likely to respond to prevention-related ads that feature cats.
Andy Rice, Branding and advertising expert
Perhaps we should be using a meerkat in local advertising or going back to using elephants comments Rice, although of course they’re not as cuddly.
Listen to the conversation on The Money Show’s Heros and Zeros (animal discussion at 6:08):

Post 7 of your favourite male characters and let people GUESS your type!
Here is a list of just ‘some’ of my favourite male characters from fiction, and I can already see some sort of pattern lol! Let me know what you think and why not make your own!
In NO particular order.
1. Ichabod Crane (Sleepy Hollow 1999 Version).
I’m not a Johnny Depp fan (don’t at me), but this is the one role I really liked him in, he fitted in perfectly. His hair, speech, mannerisms and dress were really attractive to me, especially when he first arrives at Sleepy Hollow. It’s that subtle beautiful, reserved, intelligent manner I appreciate a lot.
Tumblr media
2. Viktor (Arcane).
See what I mean about a theme here? I don’t know why, because they’re nothing like what I’ve actually dated or been approached in real life by, the complete opposite. Which, hasn’t worked for me - they tend to be too dominant, judgemental, aggressive and incompatible. Maybe because I’m quiet, reserved and like to talk about very obscure social topics, like astronomy, philosophy, science etc, just doesn’t seem interesting to them. Anyway, if their were a Viktor in my life, I’d find it hard to not fall in love the moment we spoke.
Tumblr media
3. Spartacus (Andy Whitfield WIP)
Sadly, this actor died before he could go on to star in anything else, but I watch Blood and Sand almost once a year since first watching it. It’s that good. Andy was so unbelievably beautiful, and his character of Spartacus is a great flawed character that evolves beyond his own wants. I honestly lose myself in his eyes when watching him.
Tumblr media
4.  Astarion (Baldur’s Gate 3)
Well, obviously. Neil Newbon is the voice actor and he does a great job. Astarion is also incredibly beautiful, from facial structure to his snow white hair and tipped ears, and poity teeth. He is also very expressive for a game character. As an Irish person, I think theirs this secret underlining attraction to English people, and I think English have that to Irish people. It’s all that colonialism over centuries that caused us to stay apart , just building up, I’m tellin’ ya! :P
Tumblr media
5.  Vincent Valentine (Final Fantasy 7)
A theme. Gothic maybe, emo definitely. Dark perhaps. Dangerous slightly. All have a theme lol! Vincent was an early crush of mine. He seemed so lonely, so used and abused and never listened too. He was also really witty.
Tumblr media
6. Legolas (The Lord of the Rings)
Surprisingly, not emo or darkness. He is bright, beautiful and has witty humour (with what screentime he has). I loved his design, I loved how different he felt to the others, and I realised how much I loved guys with long hair.
Tumblr media
7. Dunpeal - D (Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust)
My only animated beside Viktor, but only Anime character. His design is iconic, his voice actor (English) was amazing, and the movie is a visual masterpiece. I also love vampires. So bonus. He has such a Yoshitaka Amano touch to his design, sleek, curved beauty. Love it.

Characters: Bernard “Barney” Oliver Milton P. Fife and Thelma Lou Whitfield Fife
Media: The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1966)
Played by: Don Knotts and Betty Lynn
Setting: 1960s, Mayberry
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife is as colorful a character as small-town Mayberry, NC, has ever seen, managing to carry a gun with no bullets, awkwardly catch criminals, and participate in every social opportunity in equal parts.
Thelma Lou is Barney’s long-suffering girlfriend, tolerating his erratic behavior and countering it with her own doggedness to make him give her the respect she deserves.
Barney and Thelma Lou have constant ups-and-downs in their relationship, typically due to misunderstandings that become entirely out-of-control. Though Barney steps out with waitress Juanita once in a while and Thelma Lou conspires to make Barney jealous with various men of town, the two ultimately love one another and always find their way back together after their multiple short breakups. Muddling their way through a myriad of situations (buying a broken-down car, arranging disastrous blind dates for their friends, and launching an massive unnecessary cave rescue, to name a few), Barney and Thelma Lou share a bond that is unbreakable by trouble and time, as they prove episode after episode.

Note
this is probably weird, but do you have any fcs that look like a "less conventionally attractive" (if you know what i mean :P) Andy Whitfield? And/or some generally "not conventionally attractive" non-model men in their late 30s/early 40s, preferably british ...
Hello!
You have: Dan Stevens, Cam Gigandet, Tom Mison, Luke Hemsworth, David Anders, Gustaf Skarsgård.
Hope it helps c:

Un gladiatore non deve temere la morte, la abbraccia, la accarezza, la fotte. Ogni volta che entra nell’arena infila il suo arnese nelle fauci della bestia e prega di aver finito prima che serri le sue mascelle. –Enomao Andy Whitfield 17/10/1971 11/09/2011 You are SPARTACUS!!! #spartacusseries #spartacusbloodandsand #andywhitfield #beherenow #beherenowfilm #capua #gladiator #liammclntyre #gannicus #enomao #lentulus #batiatushouse (presso Capua) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2RbrjNHdxg/?igshid=nzk1ukib4k2r
