I love how . . . realistically socially awkward Sonic Wachowski is. Like, the kid spent ten years alone. Of course his social/conversation skills are gonna be rusty and awkward.
His first interactions with Tom in the first movie are proof enough (as well as showing how desperate he was for socialization and friendship). But I'm also going to use a deleted scene to showcase this.
I'm not gonna share screenshots because it was with an early stage of CGI with the old design, which is meh. But the scene itself was so good, so I'll just share bits of the script. (You can find it easily on YouTube if you don't believe me lol.) The beginning is the main part I'm talking about.
*immediately after Sonic was meeting Ozzy for the first time and was getting licked all over his face. Tom walks in and sits on the couch*
Tom: "I wanna talk to you for a second, have a seat."
Sonic: "Okay."
*he sits on the ground*
*Tom stares at him for a second*
Tom: "Up here." *pats the spot next to him*
Sonic: "Right, right right right." *quickly, awkwardly sits on the couch*
Then Tom proceeds to ask him about his "crazy lightning display" on the highway, which was actually a really interesting conversation that better sealed in stone how Sonic's powers are linked with his emotions. But that's maybe for another post.
Tom's asking him to sit down so he could talk to him felt so much like a parent vibe. Even just as an adult to a child.
It's a fairly normal experience for most kids. Sonic? The kid is still learning how relationships with real people work. He doesn't understand social cues at this point and isn't aware of how normal, deeper conversations go. He's not used to close proximity, he hasn't been in a long time. And he's twelve.
Tom asks him to sit with him so they can talk.
And this kid just . . . sits on the floor. As if he really believes that's what Tom was expecting him to do.
I feel like this might speak a little of his trauma issues, too, but I'd need to spend more time analyzing it with other things in order to make a proper post about it.
Idk why that moment just stuck out to me so much. I just really like how accurately he behaves as a kid who spent way too much time in isolation with no interpersonal relationships.

Not Alone For Christmas This Year
IDK why I wrote this but, happy holidays everyone. This was written at the last minute but basically Sonic is getting a family for the holidays...
Disclaimer I am not sure what their religion is and I do not own Sonic (both movie and video games), Tom Wachowski or Maddie Wachowski. They all belong to Sega And Paramount. Don't like don't read
Tumblr media
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even Sonic the Hedgehog, which was completely odd in the long run Because the kid is a whirlwind filled with talks and fun. However, when morning came, the young blue alien hedgehog was very excited and started to move. Back then, the winter holidays were always beautiful. And Sonic loved looking at the decorations around the town. However, he was alone during this time and had been for the past ten years. Every year, he would watch the Wachowskis celebrate and these are moments he somewhat resents. Because it was someone he wasn't a part of. But now, it is different because he wasn't alone for Christmas this year Then suddenly, he heard Maddie and Tom yelled, "Sonic, it's time for presents Hearing his adoptive parents made him bounce out of bed. Heading downstairs, Maddie and Tom have warm, welcoming smiles on their faces. Sonic ran down and yelled "Merry Christmas!" Soon, his parents joined in as well. Ozzie then came running, giving his hedgehog kisses that were so dubbed "very gross" but with a laugh. Maddie and Tom ran to Sonic, smiling at their boy. "Merry Christmas, bud," Tom said.
They guided him to the tree, where the presents were piled up. They each exchanged gifts; Sonic had bought makeup, fancy nail polish, and a book gift card for Maddie and gave Tom a new fishing hat, shirt, and a gift card to the local donut shop. And to Sonic' loved's amazement, his parents bought him socks, a new hat (like father, like son), and another set of boots. "This is great guys," Sonic admitted. “Wait,” Maddie said with a smile. She quickly rushed over to the nearby table and came back, with an envelope in hand. Her smile was bigger and Tom knew that it was the same one that Maddie had when she gave him his acceptance letter. “There’s still one more present to take care of, buddy,” Tom said as Sonic gave his caretakers suspicious looks.
Sonic took the envelope and tore out a certificate. Written in big letters, it says...
This certifies that Sonic Wachowski has officially been adopted by Tom and Maddie Wachowski December 15, 2020.
"You don't mean..." Sonic said. "It's exactly what it means, Sonic Wachowski," Maddie said with a dolly. "Yeah, it's official," Tom said with a smile. The boy started crying tears of joy.  Sonic stammered. "But I've always been..." "Of course you had kid. We just had to make it official. Welcome into the family, Sonic." "Come on, bring in a hug." "I'm too old for that, Donut Lord!" Sonic yelped. "You're never too old for a hug!* Tom said and he hugged the little hedgehog, much to his protest. Meanwhile, Maddie couldn't help it; she scooped Sonic up and smothered him with a hug. Sonic smiled, even though he tried acting mature for his hug. Now he knew there were presents underneath the tree, But this Adoption and parents’ hugs, were the best ones he ever had. Because now, he was not alone for Christmas this year.

IN THIS MOMENT Is Preparing To Record Eighth Studio Album
Tumblr media
Grammy Award-nominated hard rock outfit IN THIS MOMENT is preparing to enter the studio to begin recording its eighth full-length album.
On Saturday (January 28),IN THIS MOMENT shared the following update via Instagram: "The recording of the new ITM album is about to begin, This album is for you all. Through thick and thin you reman our constant… We cannot wait for you all to hear what we are conjuring up".
Last October, IN THIS MOMENT released an EP called "Blood 1983". The effort commemorated the tenth anniversary of IN THIS MOMENT's gold-certified album "Blood" (2012) and was made available digitally across all digital service providers as well as CD via BMG.
"Blood 1983" was co-produced by Tyler Bates and Dan Haigh, and mixed by Zakk Cervini.
Since coming to life in 2005, IN THIS MOMENT has presided over a diehard fan base under the watch of "mother" figure and frontwoman Maria Brink — joined by co-founder and lead guitarist Chris Howorth, bassist Travis Johnson, guitarist Randy Weitzel and drummer Kent Dimmel. As millions convened upon the group's otherworldly and unforgettable concerts, they quietly emerged as one of the most influential and impactful bands of the 21st century.
To date, in addition to the gold-selling album "Blood", the quintet has garnered two gold singles — "Blood" and "Whore" — followed by Top 25 entries on the Billboard Top 200 with "Black Widow" (2014) and "Ritual" (2017). Bringing their total stream tally well past 200 million as of 2020, "Ritual" elevated them to new creative and critical peaks as well. Between selling out headline tours coast-to-coast, the group performed in arenas everywhere alongside DISTURBED and appeared at countless festivals from Welcome To Rockville to Sonic Temple. Along the way, they assembled their seventh full-length, the aptly titled "Mother" (Roadrunner) with longtime collaborator Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH).

Victoria’s HAIL THE VOID Airs Powerful New LP, ‘Memento Mori’
~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~
By Billy Goate
Tumblr media
Artwork by Welder Wings
The record begins with a blinding stream of feedback, a swirling black hole engulfing us with screeching guitar, bruising bass, and cries forever lost. It is the portal through which we must pass to enter the unparalleled sonic world of HAIL THE VOID.
The B.C. trio caught us all off-guard with their eponymous debut in 2020, stirring quite up a sensation. We recognized they were the real deal and gave 'em a Doomie in 2021. Ripple Music picked them up around then, with the promise of issuing their next album. I couldn't have imagined a better follow-up, but Hail The Void's second full-length has done it.
The album title is in Latin, 'Memento Mori' (2023), and when translated sobers us all up: "Remember That You Die." A fitting inscription for a band whose sound is grim on the one hand, urgent on the other. Take Kirin Gudmunson's disquieted vocals of "Writing on the Wall." The doom keeps your feet firmly planted on the ground, while the singing soars like a restless ghost on a starlit night.
Elsewhere, Gudmundson's approach is bluesy ("Goldwater"), gritty & untamed ("Talking To The Dead"), and replete with bittersweet overtones ("100 Pills"). He's got one of the more formidable voices in our heavy music universe, commanding an impressive range that's somewhere in the neighborhood of the Chevelle, Aleph Null, and Chrome Ghost. Meanwhile, the instruments bring us Soundgardenesque heft, with Gudmundson on guitar, Dean Gustin on bass, and Curtis Bennet on drums.
"High and Rising" is the clear standout of the record. It begins with big, warm bass tone plucking out a riff, accompanied by the pitter patter of rain so familiar to those of us in the Pacific Northwest. The chorus is a floor stomper for damn sure. The band really pull out all of the stops on this one, and have plenty of time to cool down with the quasi-hypnotic "Serpens South" (don't miss its crafty guitar solo) and the chill, bluesy closer, "The Void."
Hail the Void's Memento Mori is quite right for a winter release, with its dark hues and stormy mood; yet the record is far from fallow. It is genuinely moving (those forlorn notes hit me right in the heart). Get your copy this weekend c/o Ripple Music, releasing February 17th in multiple vinyl editions, as well as CD and digital formats (pre-order here).
Today, Doomed & Stoned is giving you a listen to it all, in this world premiere.
Give ear...
SOME BUZZ
Emerging from the dense woodlands of British Columbia, Canada, Hail The Void have made their presence known within the underground stoner metal scene in the form of their self-titled debut album, which reached #4 on the Doom Charts for June 2020, and won them the “Best Debut Album” Doomie Award at the first annual Doomed and Stoned Awards. The band consists of Kirin Gudmundson (Vocals/Guitar), Dean Gustin (Bass), and Curtis Bennet (Drums). All three members bring their own contributions and influences to the heavy psychedelic doom metal sound Hail The Void is known for.
Released as part of a special series of releases curated by Ozzy Osbourne bassist Blasko, "Memento Mori" evolves from a towering and thunderous doom beast to a lysergic and spellbinding rock marvel reminiscent of the likes of Pink Floyd and King Crimson. Hail The Void produces a rich 8-track brimming with finely chiseled riffs, powerful build-ups and ardent vocals from frontman Kirin Gudmundson. A multi-dimensional record that should captivate fans of doom metal, classic rock and heavy psychedelia all at once!

Read the full article

I didn’t even know he had a doghouse till now. I love all these little details we get to work with.
Including the spelling of his name, which is OZZY, so that ends that small debate we’ve been kinda having over the years XD
