Okay so there's a poll about who the most overworked character is and good lord isn't that Lucifer????

• He's the single mother of 6 terrible children (8 if you count Lilith & MC)

• He (canonically) has to actively stop his siblings from burning down the house and tearing down the walls

• He's an immortal being who's going grey because of all the bullshit he's going through

• Beel is eating him out of house and home

• Levi floods the entire house at the slightest provocation

• Satan and Belphie and MC have an entire club dedicated to making his life harder

• MAMMON ONCE BET THEIR HOUSE AND LOST

• Mammon has angry mobs of people after him and they take it out by cursing his family and making it Lucifer's problem

• MC has 0 self preservation and Lucifer has to actively work to stop them from killing themself via pulling a stupid stunt

• Lilith had no filter and insulted Michael to his face and you know Lucifer had to deal with that too

• He's this 👌 close to becoming an alcoholic to cope

• Pre-Fall his brothers were terrorising the other angels in the Celestial Realm and he had to deal with that as well

• He has so much trauma from Falling that he thinks he needs to always keep his insane family in line, he can't let them take even a step out of line, because he thinks they'll be killed - so he's constantly stressed about that but obviously they're all troublemakers and so he usually ends up having to fix their problems as well

• His employer/best friend is whimsical and hyperactive and constantly running away from his job so Lucifer ends up saddled with his work as well

• He barely sleeps at night and when he does he falls asleep at his desk while working

• He constantly forgets to eat

• His family is always going through a weekly crisis that blows up in his face

• There's a whole audio drama showing just how much he's constantly pestered by his brothers

• He's part of the governing party of an entire realm

• He also has to deal with Mephisto constantly sneering at him

• After all that he also has to deal with racism, because you know the nobels aren't letting the ex-angel shit go

Okay so Vermont and Kass are weird in that they started as kind of a joke inspired by two of my dragons on the petsim Flight Rising. And then they kind of crawled into my brain and became - first of all became people I guess - and also got full personalities and also a story I’d like to write for them. Homegrown blorbos with the weirdest meta story basically

So Vermont is the longhaired one, full name is Vermont James and he … he started as a spoof on Indiana Jones? He’s a chronically overworked historian on the good days and a weird lumberjack hermit in the bad periods. Funny and sly with a very strong loner streak, worse with his words than he’d like to believe and a tad prone to falling into an us vs them mentality if the people close to him are mildly inconvenienced threatened

Kass’ is short for Kassem and he doesn’t really have a last name atm. Decidedly bookish, has written a bunch of children’s books and a lot of longer adult very poetic scripts he’s never had the guts to pursue publishing for. Generally shy but very sharp when he wants to be and unendingly curious. Suffers from a bit of a restless heart if he’s stayed too long in the same place and can thus be a little flighty to be around

In universe they’re something akin to elementals, Vern is fire with strong ties to the sun and Kass is water and the moon. The world is basically magical realism and a couple hundred years ago they did partake in like your full out ‘grand battle for good and evil’ that wrecked and splintered the magical world. Since then, every time their own power has recuperated enough for powerful factions in their world to start paying attention to them again, Vermont wipes their magic away, basically uses it all up in a single surging ritual that leaves them borderline mortal the first couple of years and also keeps them out of all magical conflict. All of this is technically a spoiler since these resets also deletes most of both their memories

It’s about fleeing, it’s about responsibility, it’s about loving people enough to make decisions for them that really aren’t yours to make, it’s about being soulmates partly out of necessity and I think so much about them and write none of this fucking book I could be writing dnndndjsjdksk

This tournament will be held to determine the very best overworked character of them all! Submit your burnout-bound blorbos to the Google form after reading the rules!

This is the second tournament of @deadguydeathmatch

Rules:

Characters must be overworked, whether it's due to an external or internal pressure doesn't matter.

Characters don't need to have a literal job to qualify, they can be overworked from a hobby, relationship or any other number of things

Fictional characters only, no real people

No Harry Potter, terfs and other bigots stay far away

BE CIVIL! Don't harass or attack me or your fellow voters.

Propaganda is both allowed and encouraged provided it's good natured.

You may submit as many characters as you like, but only submit one per form

Do not submit the same character multiple times

No ocs (I forgot to include this the first time)

The closing date for submissions is Saturday 27th May

1. Not including the blorbos from my Fantasy AU, my main two and a half OCs are Misha Petrov, who is white, female, she/her, a gentle almost motherly personality who loves lame jokes but suffers from a poor constitution health wise and can easily overwork herself so that she doesn't bother others.

Adrian Tempest is my stinky Government bastard man, half white and half hispanic, he/him, he likes battles and doing what he believes is right with his ego and attitude being his downfall.

And the half because Left at this point is his own personality from Henry. So he is white, he/they, likes being the left hand to the Toppats and loves space and his flaws would be his loyalty and being more like a glass canon in battle.
