A Newsies boarding school AU I came up with
- The school is called The World Boarding School of Upstate New York and the headteacher is Pulitzer
- The Newsies (that will be listed) as well as Sarah and Katherine are all in the New York dorms
- All the dorms are named after US cities and the New York dorm was the original dorm
- Each dorm has 10 rooms that fits 4 but barely ever all rooms are filled
- Each dorm has a big common room
- like think this in size:
- Now for the stuff about the newsies my beloved
- ROOMS!!!!
Room 1 - Jack, Crutchie, Davey and Boots
Room 2 - Race, Albert, Jojo and Tommy Boy
Room 3 - Romeo, Elmer, Ike and Finch
Room 4 - Kid Blink, Mush, and Specs
Room 5 - Henry, Mike and Buttons
Room 6 - Spot, York and Myron
Room 7 - Katherine, Sarah, Hotshot and Graves
- There used to be a lot of fights over what was put on the tv so they had to create a roster with a different person having the remote each day
- But whenever that person isn't in the common room Doctor Who is on
- It's the only show that the whole dorm agreed was good
- They have a water fountain in the corner that is only ever filled with pepsi
- the fountain is labled bepis because of that one a good chunk of them got drunk after Katherine snook in beer
- Davey labled the fountain
- None of the newsies have a sleep schedule
- There is always someone in the common room no matter the time
- They have weekly mariokart tournaments
- The current champion is Crutchie
- As well as the bepis fountain™️ they have a the depresso fixer
- Its and old expresso machine that barely works but it everyones really attached to it and refuse to let it be frown away
- In the showers theres a poster hung of the old lady with asthma stock photo
- Each year they have a residential trip and the latest one was to an outdoor activty centre (Think like Conway centre or a summer camp) where they stayed for a week
- That will prolly be another post
- The entire dorm once died their hair and they all got isolation until it washed out
- There was one time in Race's RE where homophobia got discussed
- He got a week in isolation for decking a homophobe
- The equivalent of the strike in this au was this time they all went mental over the schools meal deal price being raised
- It was $3 but Pulitzer raised it to $5
- No one did any work for like a week until it was lowered
- It got lowered back down
- This is like some of the bullet points I have more but i dont know when i will get the energy to post them

he’s 6′0 so I’d say tall.

unkempt to say the least. mamoru’s never treated his hair as something to overly fret about, however the smoothness that keeps his hair from going neither curly nor poofy gives off the notion that some care goes into its maintenance.

beyond basic hygiene cares, not a whole lot of time goes into his hair.
▸ DOES YOUR MUSE CARE ABOUT THEIR APPEARANCE / WHAT OTHERS THINK ?
without bringing his blindness into the equation, mamoru shows little interest in things such as fashion or aesthetic. he dresses accordingly to himself and what people think of it doesn’t concern him. if the situation calls for it, he will dress in what is required. taking his blindness into consideration, the man can’t even see if he looks good, so by that extension, why worry about something he cannot visually project?

self-doubt in his abilities. a few times throughout the series, he reflects on his skills and how his lack of the latter is the result of situations escalating, even going to admit that it gives him nightmares because of it.
▸ HAS YOUR MUSE LOST ANYONE CLOSE TO THEM ? HOW HAS IT AFFECTED THEM ?
the loss of his parents became the void mamoru now continuously tries to fill by mastering the sword; it’s what urged him to start training to begin with. the fact he lost them to a drunk driver is also the driving force of his vigilante activties. mamoru also lost his master, an incident he was directly involved in since he was the one who killed him. the guilt will always linger, but his master sent mamoru off with a smile, telling him to never waver and if he walks this path, then he will surely master the blade in a way none can match.
▸ WHAT ARE SOME FOND MEMORIES YOUR MUSE HAS ?
when you devote your life into one linear purpose, it’s easy to miss on memories you could hold dear... to the point he remembers very little about his life before the death of his parents. the only memories he could even consider fond is his training, that feeling of having a purpose... sadly.
▸ IS IT EASY FOR YOUR MUSE TO KILL ?
he chooses not to, but has reaffirmed that if it’s necessary, he won’t hesitate to kill.
▸ WHAT’S IT LIKE WHEN YOUR MUSE BREAKS DOWN ?
mamoru doesn’t allow himself the opportunity, he doesn’t have time for it. he has an astounding level of will power and perserveres through things, often keeping the grieving feelings to himself and will often redirect this energy through anger or even in his fights.
▸ IS YOUR MUSE CAPABLE OF TRUSTING SOMEONE WITH THEIR LIFE ?
he can, he’s done it with others given their capabilities; he’s even moved freely in a conflict knowing his team would do their job effortlessly.
▸ WHAT’S YOUR MUSE LIKE WHEN THEY’RE IN LOVE ?
love is a... strange topic for mamoru. the last love he had were his parents, but that was struck down when they died. when he began pursuing the road of mastering the sword, he buried any idea of falling in love; whether it be from concerns that it will cloud his purpose or redirect him. mamoru has even confessed that he will forever continue down this path he’s chosen. if anyone can keep up with that, if they can allow mamoru to maintain that purpose and identity, then perhaps the idea of love might be a thought he’ll amuse.

(1/3) i was a u.s. girl scout thru elementary/primary school, and mostly at our weekly meetings we would do activities towards earning different badges, as well as planning for events like camping trips and fundraising efforts (i.e. the cookie sales!). for example, maybe one week we'd go to a local park and do a cleanup together as part of earning an environmental badge. and sometimes we took fun field trips, like to the movies or a build-a-bear workshop or something.
(3/3) the other special occasion was the bridging every spring where you transitioned to the next level of scouting. basically a big cookout celebration day. my little brother was a boy scout, and the biggest difference seemed to me that the boys' activties were a little less...diverse. we girls did outdoors, but also social games and crafts and things. boys were mostly outdoorsy, survivalist kinda stuff. tho i suspect this has a lot to do with the fact that we lived in an old-fashioned town.

We seem to be finding ourselves falling into a routine and however for the past fortnight I haven’t been at work due to it being the Easter Holidays and I have found that pretty tough because that one day a week of being at work, made it feel slightly normal and was a change of scenery and people so I have found that pretty tough!
However I’ve been trying my best to not show Haribo so we’ve been doing lots of things to keep us busy in the house and again making most of the beautiful weather that we’ve been lucky enough to have in April, I’ve been drawing on inspiration from other ideas that I’ve seen on Instagram and also going back to my knowledge of working within the early years sector.
I don’t know if anyone else’s little ones have started to show signs of it bothering them but when we go out on our daily walk or a rainbow hunt as Haribo calls it, he can’t wait to get back home which isn’t usually like him, he usually loves exploring but he’s turned quite clingy which I really hope changes when we are allowed to get back to normal as he was such an outgoing and confident little boy.
I’ve set up some obstacle courses in the garden for him to explore and play with his outdoor toys. I also froze some of his toys in ice for him to explore playing with ice, cutting and chopping, using lots of fine motor skills, this also turned into a little roleplay activity so it just shows that you can expect it an activity to be used for one thing but they can take it a whole other way.
We also did one of Haribo’s favourite activties which is baking, we are doing so much baking during lockdown, I have to keep trying to encourage Haribo to eat it all otherwise I’m going to end up putting on a lot of weight because freshly baked biscuits and cakes are so hard to resist!
On the days we didn’t fancy going outside with played with Gelli bath, this was something that I came into contact with my training and it’s a lot of fun, Haribo had this kit for his 2nd birthday but he wasn’t really a big fan but I thought we’d try it again and this time he really enjoyed it.
I’m hoping next week will be better as I’m back to work and hopefully a little bit of normality will return but we shall see.

Day 204
Monday 24th August 2020
Well, today was a bit different to last week, last week we were so busy with outdoor activties we hardly sat down, today I spent most of my day sitting and dreaming about being back in France! But hey, it wasn’t that bad, it was nice to see people from work again and get back into a schedule. As hard as that is, but work passed by and before I knew it; it was 17h and I was ready to go home! Benoit and I were thinking of going climbing this evening but honestly I was so tired I just wanted to relax. When we got home, once again there are so many things I want to do but at the same time just a massive need to relax after a long day at work! Luckily Benoit and I did most of the washing and camping pack up when we got home on Sunday so there isn’t much left to do, just clean the car and the last of the washing. But instead of getting into that we planned our next little escape for this weekend, we are going to head to Bruges for the day, we have train tickets that need to be used before mid September so decided to quicly plan a little escape. I have been wanting to go to Bruges for a while so I al rather excited, even if the weather deosn’t look all that flash. Speaking of - Belgium has been grey and rainy ever since we got home, not the best welcome back but at the same time it is to be expected! So we did a bit of planning for Bruges and then we whipped up dinner, luckily we made extra last night so just had to heat up our leftovers and we settled down for a movie. For dinner, last night Benoit was in a cooking mode, he made a tomatoe based sauce, which we had with stuffed eggplants and homemade pasta, it was delicious and even better the next night! It was a very relaxing night - just what I needed! Love Kate xxxxx

West Park Community Centre Fundays 29th - 30th Oct
For the first time at the Church God of Properchy, West Park Community Centre, Handsworths hosted a two day funday event. Full activities, arts and crafts for members of the local community during the half term.
Over the two days we had some of the elders from the congeratation teaching a few of the youngsters how to crochet and knit.
There were also printmaking workshops and badge making and ribbon makings available for thoes who were feeling creative, conducted by Hatty Sutton.
There was a photography station set up where both kids and adults had the opportunity to dress up and pose and act out in front of the camera or even just to have a nice photo to take home to their loved ones.
For all thoes who were feeling a lot more active, they had also provided outdoor activties everybody to play, such as archery, swingball, connect four, and many more.
Special thanks to members of Friction Arts and Active Streets for supporting the event. Hopefully more events are to take place in the foreseeable future.
