I haven’t seen any discourse you might be referring to but I really do live by the thing the wise and now gone Fluff said in relation to Louis and Harry being together “just because I haven’t been to or seen my favorite restaurant in awhile doesn’t mean I think it’s closed”

Aka I kinda just assume Harry and Louis are happily chugging along in their life together because I am of the belief they have a healthy, loving relationship and they are no longer at the point where they need to signal/showcase they are together as often as they have been 🤷🏼‍♀️

"Are you still not a dancer?" Cas asks him like it's a tease, looking at him the way he'd done back then too, like Dean's amusing to watch, to rile up, to watch him bluster. When Dean thinks of it that way, he figures that's not something he should find compelling, but on some level it just makes him wonder if Cas is enjoying what he sees, if Dean's entertaining enough. He fidgets and the harness he's wearing pulls a little tighter, and he swallows thickly.

"I'm still shitty at it, yeah." His eyes flick over Cas, and he feels himself flush again, feels grateful for the red lights again. "But if you wanted to, I could... Yeah."

All night, Cas has been quick to respond, easy to talk to, but now he's quiet, and Dean draws back to see if something's wrong. But Cas is just watching him, his eyes warming to something that has Dean's stomach twisting in a knot, and his pants getting a little tighter too. His smile spreads, warm and easy. Calculating. Predatory. Again, Dean has that dim hope that Cas is liking what he sees.

"Yeah, I want to dance with you, Dean. Can you handle that?"

Dean nods, the space suddenly feeling too small again, and he tries to fumble a proper response, but Cas downs the rest of his drink and then closes his hand over Dean's.

"Good." He starts to pull him away from the bar, but grins back at him before they have to separate too much. "Don't worry; I'll take care of you."

Okay. Further thoughts about the Not-Henry-Crawford story.

Our protagonist is simultaneously in love with Fanny and wants to keep the novel on track, so he wants to get Fanny to her original happy ending while minimizing the damage. There are a few ways to do this, but I’m compelled by the idea of him just trying to Darcy his way through the story, being cold to Fanny on the surface but secretly doing nice things for her, like getting William’s promotion, and maybe later visiting her in Portsmouth. Although if he Darcies too hard, he might actually win Fanny over, and that’s not really what we’re going for.

For a more comedic tone, perhaps he’s only read up to the part where Henry has decided to propose to Fanny, and then he falls into the Austenverse thinking that Henry Crawford is the male lead of Mansfield Park. So he does the nicest things he can think of for Fanny, but none of it is working, and he’s mortified that he’s screwed up the whole story.

#we’re not trying to turn mansfield park into p&p that’s really not what we’re going for #but it’d just be funny if he decided to roast fanny at every turn while secretly pining for her #AND knowing he’s not supposed to end up with her #angst and comedy ✨together✨ #the hard part is getting fanny and edmund to their happy ending without the maria scandal happening #and our protagonist is just too Good too Moral to elope with maria so that’s his big challenge at the end #breaking up edmund and mary without ruining maria in the process #elly writes! #mansfield park #elly's posts #crawford body swap concept
