*slams fists on table* YEAHHHHHH zolu’s my main otp!! they just trust and understand each other so much, and they were the first two straw hats, and they’re just so wholesome and loving and soft together, but they’re also a power couple for sure.

usopp is probably luffy’s best friend on the crew, esp for goofing around, but i think zoro is honestly pretty close too - they spend a lot of time exploring together in arcs and fighting together and stuff if you pay attention. i honestly feel like you can say luffy is the most important person to zoro in the world. he’s constantly looking out for luffy, and he seems so comfortable and quite smiley around luffy, especially after the time skip, like he’s been missing a part of himself for so long and finally found it again when they reunited. 

as for luffy, i feel like he and zoro are just often on the same wavelength, and there are multiple examples where they silently understand each other’s perspectives and values, and luffy is obviously comfortable with trusting zoro with the safety of the crew. when zoro keeps him in check as a captain, luffy may not always immediately seem to show it, but i’m sure he listens.

let me just list my favorite zolu moments (as in all of them askdhadjd):

their first meeting where they immediately start fighting in sync and when zoro calls luffy captain

zoro almost freaking dies in orange town because he insists on carrying luffy’s cage himself (and how luffy freaks out when buggy destroys the major’s house where zoro was sleeping)

luffy and zoro teasing usopp together iirc when they first meet him too

luffy holds himself back but painfully watches as zoro loses to mihawk, then immediately rockets over as soon as the fight is done

zoro’s about to throw himself into the water to save luffy at arlong park when sanji says that he’ll do it instead because zoro’s too injured

while sanji and usopp are waiting outside, luffy sits by zoro’s side after arlong park as he’s screaming while the doctor fixes up his wound from mihawk (ouch)

while everyone else is focused on getting merry up reverse mountain and/or generally freaking out, zoro’s the one to catch luffy’s hand to make sure he gets back on the ship after he does his balloon move

zoro and luffy whiskey peak fight lol

zoro getting so worried about luffy fighting crocodile the first time that he starts stress lifting eyelashes the camel

zoro and luffy silently understand each other and don’t fight back at the bar in mock town (there’s a doujin i read where luffy comments that he felt fine at that moment because zoro was there standing beside him and i just ashdkshd)

zoro tells luffy that he has to be strong as the captain or who else will they look up to?

zoro and luffy blast a hole in the aqua laguna while on the sea train (what’s 108 times 2? 216. that’s too hard to say. then just say 300.)

also when luffy orders zoro to cut up the train cart in the way and zoro just does it

kinda different but when zoro protects usopp from marines so usopp can call out to luffy for him to stand back up

eeeeeverything that happens in thriller bark. everything, to the point where zoro is actually too hurt to stand up against kizaru next arc (my heart)

when luffy sees bon clay at first in impel down, he gets super excited because he thinks zoro is somehow there! and when bonchan turns back, he says he’s still happy but a little sad it isn’t zoro after all

when zoro hears about ace, he immediately tries to find a boat so he can be by luffy’s side, and when he can’t get one, almost gets ready to swim to sabaody i think

zoro puts aside his pride to ask mihawk to teach him swordsmanship and mihawk acknowledges that such a man as zoro would only be willing to do this because of someone else

zoro and sanji reunite with luffy on sabaody!

on the way to fishman island, luffy and zoro chat about what they did during their two years apart and zoro’s like “oh you would not BELIEVE who i trained with” or something

robin imagines zoro carrying luffy on his back for crossing the river (and zoro’s the one who pulls luffy up out of the water when they fall in)

zoro chastises luffy for not taking the new world seriously at punk hazard and luffy says got it, even though he immediately goofs off later lol

in dressrosa, zoro cheers luffy on at the colosseum which he got distracted watching on tv, and later he gets mad that luffy didn’t tell him about it too

zoro smiles and laughs when sabo asks everyone to take care of his troublesome little brother because sabo reminds him of ace

at zou, luffy teases zoro about worrying about sanji when he left the crew, and zoro gets mad and says he’ll kick him (luffy was right)

also at zou, when zoro gets jealous when luffy praises sanji and calls him as strong as 1,000 men (then i’m worth 2,000!)

4. Your OTP goes to a carnival, where would they spend most of their time?

For this scenario, I’m picturing Albus taking Scorpius to the muggle fair (British word for carnival) which visits his hometown every summer. His parents took him, James and Lily when they were little so they know what to expect, but Scorpius is amazed by everything!

The first thing they get to is a hook-the-duck game where the prizes are ridiculously huge stuffed crocodiles and Scorpius immediately decides he must win one. Of course, the game is rigged so it’s near impossible to hook the right duck to win a crocodile. Several failed attempts, and two smaller prizes later, Scorpius mysteriously manages to hook the correct duck to win a crocodile. He swears he didn’t confund the muggle (I’m training to be a Healer, James. That would have been unprofessional!) but nobody thought to ask Albus if he’d confunded anyone…

Scorpius is more than happy to proudly carry around his giant crocodile for the rest of the day, which works perfectly because he point blank refuses to go on any of the rides. He thinks Albus and James are mad to actually choose to be voluntarily turned upside down and span around until they feel sick. So he stands with Crescendia the crocodile in his arms and contentedly waits at each ride, occasionally attempting to make conversation with passing muggles (he did take OWL Muggle Studies after all, and got an O, so he’s fully qualified to do this, even though most of them look at him like he’s mad when he asks if they used any form of public transport to get here today)

Albus convinces Scorpius to go on the Ferris wheel with him. (I promise it doesn’t go upside down, or very fast. Look, that little girl getting off must be about five and she loved it!) Scorpius agrees, leaves Crescendia with Lily, and refuses to let go of Albus’ hand the entire time they’re in the queue. As soon as they’re sat in the little swinging chair and the wheel starts moving, Scorpius kicks his feet out in front of him and decides he quite likes this. It’s gentle and slow and the view is amazing, plus having his boyfriend snuggled beside him doesn’t hurt. They end up having three more turns.

Before they go home, Albus has one last thing to show Scorpius and he deliberately left it to the end because he knew Scorpius would love it the most: candy floss. Pink, fluffy, pure sugar on a stick might be the most Scorpius thing in existence, Albus thinks as he presents one to his overjoyed boyfriend. He gazes at it, enraptured, and Albus pulls a piece off to put in Scorpius’ mouth. The sensation of the candy floss melting on his tongue makes Scorpius beam with delight, and is definitely worth the sugar high and resultant crash Albus will help him through later. He chats a mile a minute about anything and everything and then falls asleep on Al’s shoulder during the car ride home (James is driving). Albus strokes his hair and smiles fondly at his boyfriend.

Then Christmas rolls around and Albus and Scorpius are intrigued by the large gift addressed to Scorpius from both James and Lily. Inside is his own candy floss machine. Scorpius describes it as the best day of his life.

    -I see spy being the more affectionate, romantic type. He’s the type to give  quick kisses during battle and run off. 

2. Big spoon/Little spoon?

    -Sniper would be the big spoon and spy would be little spoon (primarily bc spy is canonically 3-4 inches shorter than him)

3. Most common argument?

    -What aren’t they arguing about? 

4. Favorite non-sexual activity?

    -Arguing (it’s never really serious tho)

5. Who is most likely to carry the other?

    -Sniper would definitely TRY to carry spy if he was wounded, but Spy is too proud to let that happen (as we’ve seen in Issue 6 of the comics)

6. What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?

    -Spy loves Sniper’s hands and watching him work. Sniper loves Spy’s smile (since it rarely shows itself).

7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

    -They stop being such assholes to one another

8. Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?

     -Spook and Bushman (ya i know its unoriginal to use the ones they call each in-game, but they honestly wouldn’t make up any new names for one another). The nicknames originated because of the rivalry they had, and they decided to keep it throughout their relationship. They use it in a playful way, and when they do its relatively rare.

9. Who worries the most?

     -Spy worries about everything while Sniper goes with the flow. They balance each other out in that way, but it’s also the basis for a lot of arguments.

10. Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?

      -Spy will always remember what Sniper orders mostly because it’s not that hard to forget. He generally orders the same thing at every restaurant, which causes Spy to roll his eyes at the predictability of his own boyfriend.

11. Who tops?

      -Sniper :)

12. Who initiates kisses?

      -Spy!

13. Who reaches for the other’s hand first?

      -Sniper would try to do it in a really subtle way and Spy would reach back but would simultaneously pretend like it isnt happening

14. Who kisses the hardest?

      -I think Sniper would. Spy would kiss pretty gently and passionately imo.

16. Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer?

      -Sniper would try to get an extra few minutes and get Spy back in bed with him after he’s gotten up.

19. Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?

      -As older men living in the late 60s/early 70s, I don’t see them telling anyone about their relationship. Especially considering how private someone like Spy is.

20. What do their family/friends think of their relationship?

      -If they did find out, I’d imagine they’d be disapproving. This wouldn’t deter them at all, (except for maybe Sniper if his parents found out) but they would take every precaution so it doesn’t happen in the first place.

21. Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?

      -Spy! He’s ridiculously pretentious and would probably critique Sniper as they waltz with one another

22. Who cooks more/who is better at cooking?

     -Spy cooks and is better at it. Sniper’s idea of dinner is going outside, killing something, and cooking it over a fire. Spy makes it his personal mission in their relationship to show Sniper different types of cuisine that don’t involve crocodile meat.

23. Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?

     -Sniper! Spy is usually pretty suave so Sniper tries to ~charm~ him with some cheesy pick-up lines but they almost always go over Spy’s head

24. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?

     -80% Spy and 20% Sniper. Spy would do it most of the time, but Sniper would do it as a way to turn the tables.

25. Who needs more assurance?

     -Spy

26. What would be their theme song?

     -Since they were hired around 1968, I’d say their theme song would be This Guy’s in Love With You by Herb Alpert  (oh yeah this would be a good time to say I’ve been planning a sniperspy playlist from the tf2 canon time period for a while so uh stay tuned for a post about that)

     -Spy would probably do it and sing a quiet French song

     -They try to go about their daily lives, but their minds are always on one another

Picture this: Batman is after Waylon as a suspect. They already have a history due to Crimes, so there would definitely be a fight of some kind. You convince the Bat to let you go down and talk to Waylon first, to see if he has an explanation. Batman's reluctant; I mean, my boy IS called Killer Croc for a reason. And no offense, you're an amateur. But you're able to track down and comfort a very on-edge Waylon and save the day!

YESGOOD i love this idea both for helping out Waylon and earning the respect of Batdad!! especially if this is like a first-meeting scenario it would be terrifying but that kind of scene sounds like it would be really fun to write so now you’ve got me Thinking.....🤔

Ok now I'm curious- which F/Os do you see yourself gaming with, and what games do you see them playing with you? Who'd go for competitive games, who'd go for party games, and who would sink 80+ hours into an RPG with you? And who would be baffled but supportive of your hobby?

I LOVE THIS ASK TYSM especially because now that im thinking about it, i love the idea of my FOs playing games my other FOs are from

i had the idea of G-Jr. playing Stardew Valley with me the other day and i can’t stop thinking about this it makes my heart warm ;w;

i also think Mitsukake would enjoy Stardew Valley but it would take him a minute to get the point. like ‘why do you want to spend time pretending to be a farmer it’s so commonplace’ but then the cat shows up and he’s like ‘...ok this is cute’

i feel like Garrus would also really enjoy video games in his downtime but i can’t decide whether he’d like super competitive high-intensity games OR if he’d veer to the other end of the spectrum and actually enjoy calmer games? i can see him playing TF2 with me - he’d take Sniper so i’d be Medic and we’d get Tali to play Engineer but she’d get bored relatively quickly so she’d just sit with us and watch and cheer us on

Guzma would absolutely be a Gamer(tm) - getting super into competitive games and yelling at the screen constantly. i like to play with him but i can’t really keep up for very long so i tend to watch and bring him water and snacks. are you winning, babe? you’re doing amazing love you <3

i don’t think there’s a game out there that would be challenging enough for Eddie but he does design his own now and then in canon and i would play the hell out of anything he created (his side missions are the only thing i care about in Arkham City lmao)

Waylon is the king of fighting games. he can kick anyone’s ass. i don’t like playing against him cause i always lose (if i win i can tell it’s only cause he let me) but i do love teaming up with him against others :3c

Fenton would get so into RPGs. he tanks, i heal. i might pocket a tiny bit but the results pay off. he has all the lore memorized and he’d write fanfics to fill in his characters’ backstories. we meet up with Della and Huey regularly for D&D (Della DMs)

omg it would be so fun to play party games with Raph, Miko, and Jack. or any multiplayers really but the party games get intense. 

i feel like if any of my FOs were to not really get it but be supportive, that would be Mick. he does have a soft spot for cute little animals tho and he likes watching me play Animal Crossing more than he would actually admit. the koalas are his favorite and the only time he comments at all is when one is at my campsite and he asks, ‘...is he gonna come live with you?’

Jeremy is Peak Obnoxious Dudebro Gamer and has no mercy for me regardless of game. its PvP enabled no matter what. he rubs it in my face when he beats me but he’s a pretty good sport when i beat him. we play for small-scale stakes a lot - just like loser buys the winner a beer or something. 

i’m on the fence about whether Jet would also be a hardcore Gamer or if he’d act like he’s too cool for video games (but join me anyway and have fun). i think i could get him to play survival games with me, possibly Don’t Starve (he mains WX-78). he also likes solo racing games and i’ll sit with him and do my own thing while he plays. he’s kind of a sore loser and bitches a lot when things go wrong.

Grumpy Affectionate Starters ty guys! <3 also sorry all for the weird format - when i tried to post the original ask, it got super borked so the readmore was. in the ask itself. which i didn’t think was even possible but ok. 

    It was primarily the aroma that woke him, combined with the growling of his stomach in response. Waylon recognized the scent of bacon even before his eyes opened. The empty spot in the bed beside him was cool enough to tell him that River had been up for a while. So he rose, stretched, and lumbered into the kitchen. His partner greeted him with their usual sunny smile. “‘mornin’, big guy! Ya hungry?”

    As he approached, they turned away from the stove, standing on tiptoe and lifting their face to receive a customary good-morning kiss, but Waylon stopped with his nose just touching theirs. He fixed them with a stern look. “What is it this time?”

    River couldn’t manage a poker face to save their life. They immediately averted their eyes and pressed their lips tightly together with a nervous little huff. As annoyed as he was sure he was about to be, Waylon couldn’t help but find it endearing and had to hide a smile. “What do you mean?” they asked innocently.

    “Don’t even try it,” he replied, his tone firm but not harsh. “You never get out of bed before me unless you have some kinda critter to take care of, and you always try to butter me up with food when you bring one of ‘em home cause you want me to let you keep it. What is it this time?”

    River looked at the ground. “A cat.”

    “Another one? There’s already a cat runnin’ around here. What do you need another one for?”

    “She needed me,” they insisted. “…here, I’ll show you.”

    Turning off the stove, they took him by the hand, and he allowed them to lead him to the back of the warehouse he had converted into a home. He could smell the cat before he saw it, but soon enough River knelt beside a stack of crates and gestured for him to do the same. “Hey, sweetie,” they crooned softly in their designated animal voice. “We just came to check on you.”

    They pointed to a small space between two of the crates, and there in the shadows Waylon could see the cowering cat, as well as two tiny additional balls of fluff. He groaned. “Dammit, River-“

    “Shh!” they interrupted, holding up their hands plaintively and speaking in a whisper. “You can be mad at me all you want, but please don’t scare the babies.”

    Waylon immediately closed his mouth, drew in a deep breath, and let it out slowly through his nose. Standing, he crooked a claw at them to bid them follow, and he led them back to the designated kitchen area. When he turned to face them, he saw they were clearly anxious, wringing their hands and watching him worriedly. He frowned, and saw the lines in their forehead deepen in response. Before he could say anything, his partner began babbling. “I’m sorry, but I couldn’t just leave them there, not with Joker threatening to gas the city sometime in the next few days, and I would have told you when I got home but you were already asleep. I promise I’m gonna take them to the shelter as soon as I can-“

    “Riv,” he interrupted, his voice gentle, and they fell silent. Moving slowly, he lifted his hand and cupped their face. “Look at me.”

    Only when they obeyed did he continue. “I’m not mad. I know you care about the little varmints. That’s one of the things I love most about you - how much you care.”

    “But?” River prompted.

    Again Waylon frowned. “Weren’t you listenin’? I said I love you. No ifs, ands, or buts.”

    Relief flooded their features and their whole body drained of tension as they took a deep breath and let it out in a huge sigh of relief. Waylon’s hand moved from their face to their back to guide them into a careful hug. “Hey,” he said gently, “I dunno what anyone’s told you before, but even if you did ever make me mad - which knowin’ you, that’d be hard - that don’t mean I’ll stop lovin’ you.”

    River buried their face in the crook of his neck. “I know. I know.” They took another deep breath and exhaled slowly. “I’m still rewiring, you know?”

    “I know,” he replied, his thumb circling soothingly between their shoulders. “I’ll keep remindin’ you as many times as you need.”

    Moving them to arms’ length, he fixed them with a stern look, though his eyes glittered fondly. “Promise you’ll take ‘em somewhere else when the threat has passed?”

    “Promise,” they said, resolutely holding his gaze.

    He kissed their forehead. “Good.” A cheeky grin came over his features. “As long as you have it started, I’ll still take that bacon.”

    River grinned back at him and headed back to the kitchen. “You got it, big guy.”

    It was not long before they had cooked an impressive amount of bacon, even by Waylon’s standards. Waylon contributed by making an equally enormous batch of scrambled eggs. The enticing aroma drew the attention of the cat, followed by her bumbly little kittens. She twined around Waylon’s leg and purred. Slowly, he reached down to let her sniff his hand, and one of the kittens playfully pounced at him. Waylon silently watched it wrestle his fingers for a moment, then without taking his eyes off the kitten he asked, “…do cats eat bacon?”

    River paused with their fork halfway to their mouth. “Cats can eat a little bit of bacon.”

    Waylon broke off three small pieces and gave them to each of the animals. It was gone in seconds. The bolder of the two kittens mewed loudly and pawed at Waylon in demand for more. He chuckled and handed over another small piece. “Yeah, yeah. You’re cute.”

    When he glanced up, he saw River gazing at him with a knowing smile. “Stop smilin’ at me like that. This doesn’t mean I’m gonna let you keep ‘em.”

    “Of course not,” River replied, and hid another smile as Waylon continued distributing bacon to the cats.

So Waylon, who writes poems/stories and love songs about the other? Do they sing the songs the write for them?

“I’m not much of a poet, t’ be honest. And River really isn’t either. But once in a while I’ll catch ‘em singin’ while they work, and sometimes they’ll get all flustered and tell me I didn’t hear nothin’, and then sometimes I’ll get lucky and they’ll start singin’ for me. Black Canary they ain’t, but they still sound sweet to me. Heh - I guess I got my very own little bird. How ‘bout that?”
