I was watching LadyNightTheBrave's video on Twelfth Night (good video, I really enjoyed it) and there was one version of Viola that I found particularly compelling so I went to check who the actor was and IT WAS FUCKING JOHNNY FLYNN why does this man keep appearing unexpectedly in my life, why does he hold such power on my psyche

somewhat unwisely i spent money my aunt gave me for my birthday/christmas on the full version of synthv even though i am not very good at using it and am worse at music in general so now i am trying to do something to justify the purchase. (with actual effort and not just my midi collection) you cant really tell from this picture but i am utilizing a silly strategy here to do an extremely finicky thing with the pronunciation. because the "you" in english ended with sort of a noise i don't know how to describe but didn't sound right. so the language changes to japanese for one note specifically just to say "yu", which is pronounced microscopically differently from "you", apparently. There would have probably been a less silly way around this if i knew the phonetics system better, but i don't so this is the way it is. i think it's kind of funny at least.

#i think my finickyness about pronunciation could be valuable in this field if only i had any other skill in it. #whenever i hear a cover of a song i know i will notice if they pronounced/delivered something weird compared to the original #and it will torment me. i could prevent this in others if i could harness the power i have to notice these things. #i was going to specify vocal synth covers but honestly the biggest culprit of this i can think of right now is #the time my friend showed me natewantstobattle's covers of sonic songs. #he made at least one weird vocal delivery per song.
