I have loved this show for years and find myself coming back to it.

Now that Im older I see things differently and appreciate some of the relationships and sub plots more than before.

That being said Olivia Pope was that B*TCH ,Mother was Mother before Mom was a thing.

I say all this to say. A friend of mine recently sent me a link to a fanfiction where Liv and Fitz worked together through all the b*llsh*t from the get go. Like Fitz finds out early on about Defiance.

The portrayal of Abby in this fic is what I wanted from Abby.

Yes in the early season 5 it looked like we would get a healthy for Scandal type relationship between Liv and Abby . But it got messy

This fics had the Abby that yes I realise Olivia isnt a superhero and thats ok. She might come across that way but she is human.

Also while Im at it I wish Olivia never lost Stephen because he really knew and understood her in a different way then the rest of the team.

Harrison too once he put the pieces together really came through for liv.

I think alot of the turmoil that took place from season 4 onwards would have been prevented or played out differently.

Like Harrison would have called her out on her BS.

Stephen would have picked up the pieces and allowed her , her moment in the sun while holding the "family "together

Not that Olivia Pope needed permission.

But you get what Im mean hopefully 🤭

I hated how Olivia’s “I wait for you, I watch for you, my whole life is you!…” kind of sounded like Meredith’s “Pick me. Choose me. Love me,”

So I rewrote my own version of the lines at the Rose Garden. This is another excerpt from my fanfic on Scandal:

“No! I told you this unfair to me and to Mellie,” she did tell her, “Because she’s the woman you married but I’m the woman you love, you can’t have both on strings and play with either of us when you need one or the other,”

“Livvie…”

“I wait for you. I watch for you. My world begins and ends with you,” she confessed, “ And I wonder everyday when *this* is going to begin or end because I’m the other woman and I don’t know if we are going to step into the light or are we just reduced to stealing kisses in the dark,”

“I *love* you,” he declared, “I’m in love with you. You’re the love of my life. My every feeling is controlled by the look on your face. I can't breathe without you. I can't sleep without you. I wait for you. I watch for you. I exist for you. I belong to you,”

“We aren’t Sally or Thomas, Liv,” he reminded her, “This isn’t the 1800s. This is the 21st century. I’m going to get a divorce and if people can’t understand why it’s their problem,”
