Oh god, I have too many questions and interactions I want to do mow that you've come back.

First of all, Rob I never knew you were really good at building until H4M and looked back at your builds since HTM. So atleast in my head, you're specielty was alot on creativity (and also being mildly threatening in early parts of series, like... almost every Cosmic server, that time you threatened Vik's villagers in H4M... let's not talk about H3M either-). So tell me, would you say you're a good builder, (especially for an old guy like you-)

Whumpay 2022 - Day Four: Damsel in Distress / “I had it handled” / Burns

TW: hidden injuries, blood, implied torture, implied kidnapping,

Cadenza adjusts the straps on her gauntlets as she looks over the side of the basalt. Blood trickles down a slash across her arm, stinking against the sheer heat of the lava pools around them. The stark contrast between the cold inside her gut from those potions that make her less flammable and the heat around dizzies her slightly. 

The incapacitated shadow knight sits limply between two large pillars of basalt. Blackish blood trails from lacerations and puncture wounds that met with the more liquidy parts of their armor. Cadenza looks up at Laurence whose blade is coated with said blood.

“I had it handled.”

Laurence, with the red flares of energy bouncing off him, rolls his eyes, “Sure, we’ll go with that.”

Cadenza can quite wrap her head around the way Laurence’s voice distorts when he’s using his abilities. The lances of dark energy that coil off of his limbs blanket them in darkness. 

Laurence glances over her arm and looks up at her, “You sure your alright?”

“Yes, how close are we to the black Palace?” Cadenza replies as she rolls out her shoulders.

Pointing over the lake of lava, Cadenza sees a vague black shape that sits in the ceiling of the nether. Large black pillars jut into the sides and into the lava below. Shifting with the heat, red speaks show dozens of shadow knights dipping around them, walking into and out of the building.

“That’s it,” Laurence states, “But we’re not headed in there, Kalif doesn’t keep his captives there.” Standing, Laurence gestures towards the large pillar of netherite and Cadenxa sees a few openings leading down into winding halls. “He keeps them in the caverns.”

“I thought we overheard them taking about bringing him to Shad?” Cadenza asks as she finishes refitting her gauntlets, “To try him for treason?”

“You can access the Palace throught he caverns,” Laurence replies as he takes a step forward. “It’s easier than it looks.”

Cadenza watches him walk forward, the limp in his hip only just now starting to show. He winces slightly and mutters something under his breath. 

“Ae you sure your okay?”

Laurence laughs, the distorted hint shifting his notes around like throwing playing cards across a table, “Yeah, it’ll heal over in a couple minutes.”

Cadenza can feel the lie.

i think before joining or making a minecraft roleplay server every creator needs to either have played at least ONE campagin of a ttrpg of their choice (doesnt have to be dnd) or they must have spent their entire childhood roleplaying with people on any social media/forum/chat app their tiny hands could get a hold on. i want these minecraft roleplayers to have backgrounds in doing roleplay with actions written out *like this* in their friends text messages and getting into insane drama as teenagers in discord roleplay servers

#im going thru old flipnotes i used to watch years ago and ouggghhg so many good ones #is twenty one pilots still popular.... do people still remember the TRNDSTTER and marble soda meme......... #its like im unlocking some sort of primal part of my brain and everything is coming back to me. one of my biggest inspirations as a kid #i still remember thinking the final transmission lyrics were the coolest thing and watching =TopHat= Bee and Melissa over and over #theres a very specific feeling of longing and nostalgia looking back and watching these again years later #especially when there isnt anything genshin or mcyt and instead its either fnaf undertale eddsworld or another obscure #interest... and not even fnaf sister location its like fnaf 3 and 2. its THAT old. and a lot of oc MVs especially pokemon ocs and furries.. #god but they were so creative u know. i still find it amazing ppl took this little lightbox animation on the fucking NINTENDO DS and #cranked it all the way to 11.. like if u look at the transitions and movement its so fucking fluid its insane..!! HOW DO YOU MAKE THE #CHARACTERS SPIN??? AND CHANGING CAMERA ANGLES??? and keep in mind youre doing this all with a shitty stylus #on a THREE BY TWO INCH SCREEN. you only get two layers you can go up to 29FPS and you only have 999 slides to work with #and 24FPS eats up a lot of that. absolutely insane it literally boggles my mind every time i think about it. AND SOME ARE EVEN FULL COLOR #i forgot how popular EDM was back then too...they were really good for timing beats though so you get a lot of MVs with #strobe last and marble soda. porter robinsons goodbye to a world was also popular with undertale and oc MVs. also a lot of vocaloid #someone made a flipnote abt the warner bros fnaf movie being announced EIGHT FUCKING YEARS AGO. it even used the stay calm audio from #the office.... i wonder how theyre doing now... i love you shitty grainy MV audio.. but i have mixed feelings abt the flashing colors #ppl LOVED animating the sans vs frisk fight. aishite and primadonna were also big ones they were SICK AS FUCK #lots of these inspired my old oc designs.. a lot of my characters had side bangs with one eye covered. animal ears and simple eyes too #now i kinda wanna try my hand at the marble soda meme cause i loved it as a kid lol.. i wonder if i should compare my old and new art here #UGHHHH IM SO NORMAL ABOUT NOSTALGIA. blackrock 10 year retrospective

so! it’s been. ten years since the blackrock chronicle started. let’s talk about that

i got minecraft in august 2012, right around the 1.3 update, after a camp friend showed it to me. like any other minecraft-playing 12 year old in 2012, i immediately took to the internet and discovered minecraft videos and parodies. one of these was Screw The Nether, the singer of which one of my friends identified as martyn. i watched martyn’s tekkit series (rip) and didn’t recognize one of the names on his waypoints: rythian. naturally, i looked up rythian on youtube, and found this little series called The Tekkit Adventure.

the rest is kind of history.

this series has meant so much to me over the last ten years. from making real life friends because i was reading fanfic and they asked what i was reading to desperately trying to explain the series to friends in 7th grade art to one of my friends making me a charm bracelet with blackrock themed charms for the holidays to the tumblr explanation of the finale to all the different yog servers ive been in and now being a fandom boomer in modern day mcyt spaces. i still cry watching the final episode of season 2. i still only really know the lyrics to zoey’s sk8rboi parody and not the original. frankly, im a lesbian because of this series. i had a MASSIVE crush on zoey as a kid and barely even knew it, and as an adult, im just sitting here like “ah.” she was some of the first lesbian rep i’d seen Basically Ever and i cannot thank her enough for that.

to celebrate, i dug through all my old sketchbooks and notepads to bring you all the blackrock/yogscast fanart i could find from the last ten years. i’m sure there’s PLENTY that’s missing. it’s all under the cut, chronologically listed. cheers, blackrock fandom. we’re still kickin’.

Cloud knocks gently on Vincent’s door, the raps echoing inside. He waits a moment before quietly opening up the door and walking inside. Vincent’s house never had any decorum, even after he pleaded himself to Meteli. Cloud’s eyes glance over the scrolls and maps that Vincent had on his table. All meticulously cataloged and recorded for dates and times. Even some of the chairs have papers stashed on them. 

Most of Cloud’s wounds had healed over, only the more major cuts remained and even the most severe bruises were faded. He brushes his hand over one across his shoulder, poking it gently.

Cloud had barely seen Vincent before his armor reformed over his body. He had watched Laurence coax him to dispel his armor to treat his wounds. He had asked Cloud to leave until he was finished.

Approaching the staircase in the back, Cloud looks up the staircase and calls, “It’s just me Vince.”

Cloud feels a pull towards the bedroom upstairs and he takes it as gentle permission to enter. The stairs creak underfoot as his hand slides up the worn wooden handrail. When he reaches the top, his eyes immediately meet Vincent’s disheveled hair. 

The sunlight from the open window rests across Vincent’s face, setting his face aglow. Yet, Cloud can see the red glow of Vincent’s eyes. They never glow that much. 

“May I come in?” Cloud asks as he stops on a step from the floorboards.

Vincent did not open his mouth but a warm feeling blooms over Cloud’s skin and he sees the smallest of nods from Vincent. Cloud walks over to his bedside and sits quietly on the edge next to him. Cloud’s eyes wander across the dips and peaks of Vincent's face.

“You look a lot younger when your resting,” Cloud chuckles as he tenderly brushes some of the hair out of Vincent’s face. 

Vincent’s head slowly rolls over and looks up at Cloud. His flesh is impossibly pale as he raises his hand to place it over Cloud’s thigh. 

Cloud then sees the holes in Vincent’s wrists.

“What did they do to you?” Cloud gasps silently as he takes Vincent’s hand.

Vincent tugs on his hand and guides him down next to him. Cloud rests his head on the pillow next to him and Vincent leans forward and rests his forehead on Cloud’s collarbones.

“That’s what they do in the Nether,” Vincent mutters as he wraps an arm around Cloud’s body.

Cloud’s hand runs along Vincent’s side and runs under his shirt and Vincent did not protest as Cloud pulls it up. Long, red, and angry lines cut across his chest. With a cloud realization, Cloud sees that the slashes are not even scabbed over, just empty.

“...How?”

Vincent brushes his shirt down and closes his eyes, “You can run out of blood to spill when it can’t kill you.”

Cloud lets Vincent hold onto him and press his body into his. Running his arms around Vincent’s torso, the two just hold each other. The horror does not truly hit Cloud until much later.

The shelby-grian anon here. Yeah, I think I was really young when I started watching stampy though, I must’ve been at most 12 so that’s like 7 years. I remembered yandere highschool and undertale stuff Grian and Shelby respectively did vividly, it was wild. Comparatively I’m late to the hermitcraft party, I started with season 7

I have only experienced YHS through ParanoidPug's excellent summaries, and that's pretty much enough for me, lol.

Something people may have not considered, I know I took a while to remember this, is that YouTube channels used to be customisable in layout and with images like blogs on Tumblr.. And I was a MCYT enjoyer back when they still had this capability (Huge Yogscast fan), not anything HC aligned so I took a look at the creator’s old channel designs. Here’s some of them! Collected via Wayback machine.

Scar 2013. The Bob Ross of Minecraft... A few months later the channel name was “Your favorite Scar” and he removed the weapons up above. If you watch his videos from this time, his end screen is designed just like the channel.

Etho 2011. Back when there was a public comment section. He also used design from fans like he does now.

Etho 2013. At this point, YouTube removed some of the customisation ability but a custom background was still possible.
