If you become king again, what are your stances on sales tax?
75% of all sales go to the King. (I am being generous.)
100% of all goods acquired through plunder or combat go to the King.
I will put it to good use, such as:
Using large sacks of gold coins to bludgeon my enemies.
Purchasing combat video games to keep my skills sharp.
Very nice looking gold brick paperweights.
Money swimming pool like that rich elderly duck.
Bribery.

Uh- Mr. King? Sir?
If- hypothetically speaking- there was a ghost clown with mind control powers- mind you, hypothetically- what would you, with your combat experience against ghosts with insane powers, recommend?
*crash noise* Running is not currently an option. That part's not hypotheti-
I have faced foes with mind control abilities before, and it is not the most pleasant of feelings. Considering fleeing is not an option, I recommend focusing on immutable facts about yourself and the world. Your age, the year, your name, where you are, what you were doing either right before the attack or perhaps even earlier in the day, the fact that the enemy needs to be destroyed, etc. One I find useful is counting five things I can see, four I can hear, three I can touch, two I can smell, and one I can taste.
Another thing that may help is breath techniques, where you intentionally draw breath in through your nose, and then out your mouth, all while counting.
Depending on the enemy, they may appear in a form within your mind that you have to defeat in a mental battle. I usually just use whatever fighting techniques I would in actual combat, but insults work just as well for some foes.
If you can still physically attack while mentally fighting the enemy, do so, but if you are too weak, a strategic retreat may be necessary once the battle begins.
May you be victorious, fade your enemy in my name.

So now that you are apparently free, what do you plan?
Once Phantom is old enough for me to be freed from that contract, I plan on fighting him for the return of my crown. In the meantime, most likely some sort of training to be certain that I remain in top shape, and planning for my eventual takeover of the living realms.
...And I am also going to look into these "video games" which have been mentioned to me. Apparently you can simulate combat within high-tech mirrors, which could prove very useful for me. Any recommendations?

You may not be under my jurisdiction but the books can be if I claim them under my right of conquest, although that would require I lay siege to your clinic-- which...
I will not... you can have them back. I don't want them.
...I apologize for my embarrassing action.
Dude, was it you that broke into my clinic lab?
Normally you wouldn't be my first suspect, but my books on ghostly medical law are missing, you could have just asked to borrow them :/
I did not, theft is below that of a king, even if I may not technically be one currently. I am offended you even suggested I would stoop to such a level--
*A book falls out of his armor*
...I did not put that there. That was Phantom trying to sabotage me to make me look bad.
*He goes to grab it and more books fall from his cape.*
...Kings do not need to ask permission to take things.

I'm fine. We can leave as soon as I look this over.
*He glares at her as he lands on the ground, taking the contract from her hand. He looks through each page for an absurd amount of time, obviously trying to find some sort of loophole, but eventually, he realizes there was no point and just signs the contract.*
Here's the contract. Signed everywhere it said to.
You promise a lot for your freedom. But how do we know you're real about it? I believe in second chances, but I also believe that you judge people based on their actions. From what your ex subjects have told me, you were a tyrant, and I did NOT apriciate having my town thrown into another dimension and threatened while you tried to fight a literal child. Even you have to admit that from the understanding of that viewpoint, your promises are incredibly suspicious right?
If you want freedom, trueley desire a second chance, we need a guarantee. We need more than empty words. So, ask yourself, what is freedom trueley worth to you?
In my defense, the child was the one who started the "fight". I was merely defending myself against a child ghost whose powers were unknown and not fully under his own control yet, which is known to be incredibly dangerous not only to the child ghost but to those around him. Especially because the child was incredibly powerful for his age, having been only 15 living and not even close to 50 years dead.
As for what I will do once I am freed? I would take back the throne if at all possible, though it seems less and less likely the longer I am in here. No ghost is meant to be trapped like this, especially not conscious. I have been trying to absorb what energy I can over this connection, but it hasn't been enough to keep my power at what it was before. Tied to the "forever sleep" part of the Sarcophagus was also the function of keeping me from wasting away due to lack of ectoplasm access and lack of fulfillment. I have seen ghosts fade over less.
If I am to regain my strength I would need to return to my lair to recuperate and then plan from there.

*He stares at the hand for a minute, and then floats past to look around, ignoring it entirely. As he floats by, he bobs like a ship in water.*
I'm fine, I'll just absorb it as we go. Do you know your way back? Everything's changed since I last ruled, and the short amount of time I was freed was not long enough for me to get acquainted with how things are now, so I am entirely useless when it comes to directions.

Great. Even more stipulations. Fine. I swear on the ring AND the crown that I won't break the contract. I'd rather like to be able to move within the next millennia.

Oh, Clockwork does great stitching. He actually made my cape back when I was first coronated. Apparently, my lack of a cape would have caused-- Forget I said any of that. Let's not speak about that.
I won't pull anything, I most likely won't even be able to do much more than hover behind you with how much power I have lost. It's a wonder I've managed to stay in one piece.

Alright, fine. Considering the alternative is slowly starving to death while I go mad. This is the consequence of having lost in such a humiliating way in the first place, I suppose.
The key is currently in Clockwork's possession, although knowing him he has most likely already placed it in your possession if I am meant to be freed by you. Feel anything in your pocket that wasn't there a second ago?

I'll forgive this transgression but only because I cannot actually retaliate with anything other than words at the moment, if anything like this occurs once I am out I may not be so merciful. I'm not exactly certain how long it will take for me to be freed from this prison, considering no one has even made so much as an attempt to let me out so far, so if you could hold that coupon for me for when I do get out it would be greatly appreciated.
Hey so why do you call yourself king. Not only do you not have the ring or the crown, but they was taken from you in a fair 1vs1 duel.
I am more king than you, since I have the ri... right attitude!
I call myself the king because I am the King. Simple as that. Phantom did not face me in a 1V1, Plasmius was there and he has yet to take any of the required oaths, trials, etc. Therefore the position is still mine and I'm going to use this opportunity to destroy him before he can take my place!
...Although I have been considering the possibility of instead convincing him to hand over the crown in exchange for him taking a lower position of crown Prince, or some other negotiation. Having someone as powerful as him on my side would be a great boon.

What would you suggest I do OTHER than be king? Take up knitting? Bird watching, perhaps?
If no one recognizes me as a king, then why risk keeping me around? No prison, let alone one which was damaged when the door to the cell closed, can hold a prisoner forever.
Besides, keeping me here AWAKE is a bit much. Not Phantom's sort of thing. Less like a punishment, more like a torture tactic. I doubt he would enjoy not being able to move at all and feeling the cold walls press further against him any time he does attempt to. I suppose the only mercy here is that I do not need to breathe, any human would have suffocated long ago.
