I wonder if he knows that beautiful day I chased him. And my heart wanted to see him so bad, maybe just one last time.

But as I walked into the place we used to go, my heart raced as God shouted to leave him alone. I disobeyed selfishly. Then reminded myself if he wanted to see me, he would. If he wanted to talk to me, he would. He is still alive, just willingly choosing to not walk with me.

God said, “my dearest, daughter. That makes you a princess to the King of Kings. You do not need to chase what has been sent from me. It will come with peace, as I am your prince of peace.”

But isn’t it obvious I put him before you, Abba? You are peace but my heart wants him, even if that comes with the loss of apetite. Even if that comes with the chaotic episodes of endless tears and all the suffering. I am willing to lay down my life for him. I hate that I get like this when I’m in love.

The heart wants what it wants, even more so when we cannot have it. I argued with you, Abba, for months. I had my talons clenched so deeply around him, I lost myself trying to understand why my father was taking him from me. It was like drinking poison, hoping it would taste like grape juice.

But I put it to rest. Because Abba held my head high and reminded me again that I am royalty, and I do not need to chase something that has my name on it.

It was a phone call for him, “a good experience”, and then over within minutes; it’s been weeks of endless mental gymnastics for me. What did I do wrong? Why is he walking away from me? What about our plans? You said I was your person. I told you in my heart I was already married to you. Why are you doing this? I get you lost your grandfather, I know how much he meant to you, but why are you shutting me out? I hurt you? Why don’t you tell me? Let me fix things, I’ve never been one to dodge accountability and you know it.

So I watched him leave, and reminded myself that I no longer hold a place of value in his life. By his choice. And therefore, he owes me no words nor explanations. People will let you down. But God never will. And so, I gave myself and am still giving myself that closure and assurance that God said I have a love for you that will never make you chase.

It will overflow you without asking. My love for you is a hurricane, and you are just a tree. No man that walks the earth can possibly fill you the way you need to be, but me.

He is quite jealous for me. I can see that now.
