long list of funny things abt my experience doing emote commissions for mike

first of all I wasn't expecting to get commissioned at all (my commissions weren't even open, I just made an exception for mike) let alone by MIKETHELINK of all fucking people, so I had nothing prepared. I had no portfolio, commission sheet, nothing. I had never made any twitch emotes, so I had no examples to show either. meaning that when barbmine showed up in my dms asking if I took emote commissions, first I lost my fucking shit, then I panicked and rushed to find the most recent emote-like illustrations I had, including animation, and the most recent animation I had on hand happened to be a viewtiful joe one lmao. the animation in question 👇

I have some experience taking commissions but they'd always been for friends of mine, this was my first time getting commissioned by a real "client" and the client was fucking mikethelink tazercraft of all fucking people . I know he "found" me through Mine, she sent me a dm first asking for commission info, saying she would show it to mike later. the thing is that when she said that she also implied that she was in touch with other artists too, so I was like "oh ok I'll send my stuff but I probably won't get chosen lol" and then a few hours later I got two twitter notifs, one saying that mr. thelink tazercraft was now following me and another was his DM. to say I almost had a heart attack would be an understatement

later I found out Mine had made a tweet asking for artists to reach out/people to rec artists for mike's twitch emotes. that post had around 40 comments. many people had been recommended more than once. I wasn't mentioned by anyone once, and in fact, I had no fucking idea that post even EXISTED until way after the fact. I have no idea how I ended up getting this job

mike happened to contact me on a day where I was severely sleep deprived. our entire business conversation took place while I was half-panicking, half-almost-passing-out. I don't know how I survived

at many points during our conversation I gave a lot of leeway for mike to give up on commissioning me, implying multiple times that he would be better off commissioning a different artist. and it's not because I lacked confidence (though a bit of that too, of course), but because of my lack of experience. I was very open about that to him, so many times I expected him to second guess his decision to commission me. unexpectedly, he was really insistent. I think partially he didn't want to go through the trouble of finding and contacting a different artist, but also I guess he just liked my art that much (??!?)

I definitely undercharged him lol. it's not that I don't value my work, it's just that I was absolutely not prepared for any of this shit to happen and didn't have enough time to think

I use adobe after effects for animating mike's emotes. I already knew how to animate (though I had never animated anything big), but I had never used after effects before. I even told mike this before accepting the commission, but he just said it was easy and I could totally do it, and I was just like "fucking hell. fine". and look, I know my limits, I knew I'd be able to learn after effects with relative ease. if I thought it'be too much for me to handle, I wouldn't have accepted the commission. it just that to this day I'm still shocked that mike commissioned an artist who HAD NEVER USED THE TOOL NECESSARY FOR THE COMMISSION HE WANTED.

due to the point above I was pretty apprehensive about animating the emotes, but now I'm glad I got this opportunity bc it reignited my passion for animation that had been dwindling for a long time and I've been learning a lot while working. also with every new emote I figure out how to use a different feature of after effects and it makes the job a little bit easier

before giving my payment information I came out to him to avoid confusion with my legal name being different from the name on my socials. he was very chill about it and always used the right name and pronouns for me whenever he mentions me on stream

fun fact: I was reached out to by another big (brazilian, not in qsmp) youtuber for a commission but I had to refuse because I had too much on my plate already (still do..)

I made his twitch avatar and banner too! I'm really proud of the avatar. the banner was absolute hell

I'm a lurker (and nowadays a vod watcher since I've been busy w/ uni work) but I do watch every single one of mike's streams, so just know that I'm always seeing you guys use the emotes :3

“What?” Buck asked lightly, pressing closer into his side to avoid someone on an electric scooter speeding down the walkway. “Go out for an expensive dinner? You’re going to eat me out of house and home.”

“No,” Eddie snorted. “That’s Chris.”

“Oh, yeah,” Buck mocked. “He gets that from you.”

“He’s in the middle of a growth spurt.” Eddie defended weakly. “He’s only going to eat more when he gets older.”

“Yeah, he’s going to eat himself out of a college savings.”

Because they had that for him now. Eddie had started it when Chris had been born, but he had had to dip into it every now and then to cover medical expenses. But he was in a two income household now, and Buck’s bank account had enough money in it that putting some aside for Christopher barely even made a dent (and Eddie really didn’t want to think about that because, other than buying himself a new car, Buck lived humbly and complained about bills and savings like the rest of them). “I meant ,” Eddie shook his hand for emphasis in his pocket. “Get out more. Together. I love our kid but he is…”

“A pre-teen?” Buck guessed with a sly smile. “Careful, Eddie, people might think you’re trying to get me alone.”

“ Evan .”

“Yes, Eddie,” he rolled his eyes with a laugh and blushing cheeks. “I’ll let you woo me.”

A/N: Thank you so much @forever-a-night-owl ! I'm not sure how well I delivered on the fluff, but I had so much fun with this!

“This is so unfair,” you groan, following your commanding officer along the dimly lit corridor of the budget hotel’s seventh floor. “It’s like having to sit next to the teacher on a school trip.”

“Would you give it a goddamn rest,” Rick grunts, dragging both his luggage and yours across the ugly worn carpet. “This ain’t exactly what I imagined, either. But it’s just for one night. ‘Sides, would you rather be back in your cell?”

Harley’s shrill cackle fills the air. “Ya know sweetie, you could always smother him in his sleep. We promise not to tell.”

The rest of the squad trails behind you, similarly bickering about the sleeping arrangements for the night and debating who has drawn the shortest straw. As if ARGUS was really going to pay out for you all to enjoy individual rooms. Rick had already reminded you to be grateful to have a hotel room at all. In this line of work, you are rarely afforded such luxuries.

“Don’t tempt me, Harls." You smirk over your shoulder at the blonde villain. "Sure you don't wanna swap? Think I'd rather share a room with Boomer.”

Harley snorts. "No chance. Flag's such a drag. You'll be tucked up in bed and lights out at nine."

“This is us.” Ignoring Harley’s thinly veiled insult, Rick stops abruptly in front of Room 77 and reaches into his pocket. "The rest of your rooms are straight ahead. For the love of god, try not to break anythin'. We ship out at 0500 hours."

Leaning against the wall while Rick fumbles with the key, you fold your arms and shoot Harley a resigned grimace. "Have fun. Know I sure won't."

Harley offers you a sympathetic pat on the shoulder before sashaying away with Boomer and the others in tow.

Exhaling a long breath as your teammates disappear along the hallway, you turn your attention to Rick. He’s still having trouble with the door. “Give it here.” You snatch the key from his broad hands and jam it into the lock. A couple of twists and a well-placed shove with your shoulder has the door flying open. “Magic.” You flash him a grin and stride inside.

Like the rest of the building, the room is small and dated. A solitary queen-sized bed takes up most of the space. “Cosy,” you remark, flopping down onto the bed. A large brown watermark stains the corner of the ceiling; pretending not to notice, you close your eyes.

The door slams shut in Rick’s wake and a moment later you hear him drop the bags. “Think they bought it?” you wonder, cracking open one eye just in time to find him approaching the bed.

Rick’s tall figure looms above you, his customary frown melting into a soft smile before he sits down beside you. The bed sinks beneath his weight. “Oh, they bought it alright. You’re a pretty convincin’ actress.”

“I didn’t hurt your feelings, did I?” You reach out and squeeze his thick muscled thigh. “I was only joking about Boomer. I hear he snores worse than you do.”

“Careful, darlin’.” In the blink of an eye Rick shifts position so that his huge body is hovering over you, biceps straining under the tight black t-shirt as he cages you against the bed. That muscled thigh is now wedged firmly between your legs. “It’s not too late for me to assign you to a room with Blackguard.”

Biting your lip, you temper down the urge to laugh. This wouldn't be the first time you’d called his bluff. “We both know that’s not gonna happen.”

Rick’s expression darkens, sending a familiar rush of heat straight to your core. “You’re right. I’m keepin’ you all to myself tonight.” He leans down further, until his lips brush your own, just the ghost of a kiss.

“Guess Harley was right when she said it would be lights out at nine,” you muse.

“Oh no, darlin’. The lights are stayin’ on. I wanna see all of you.”

It’s all you need to hear. Grabbing Rick by the collar of his shirt, you tug him down until you feel the delicious pressure of his hips against yours.

Rick’s lips trail a path along your jaw, before he whispers into the shell of your ear. “Know you’re gonna have to be quiet, right?”

“I can be quiet, Flag. The question is, can you?”

What is your process when doing fully rendered art! I've always loved looking at how detailed they are

I can show you with a couple screenshots of a current wip

1. I start out with a super rough sketch. For people it's a basic skeletal sketch of where what body part goes. For background sketches it's just vague shapes in the places where I'd like them to be.

2. Clean up time baby!! That's the stage where my vague shapes turn into full shapes. It's also the stage where I settle on details.

This is what a clean sketch looks like. Mind you not every detail I sketch is something I do in lineart, some things are just colors

3. Lineart woo-hoo!

This is what finished lineart looks like for me. What I also do is paint in shadows on my lineart layer for more depth and to give myself visual clarity too

4. Colors. For big pieces like this one right here I already color code the setting, give the whole thing a vibe

See this? No shading, that's all just coloring. Coding the colors this way minimizes the amount of layers I need to shade plus I tend to work on max. 3 color layers anyway. What I do for big pieces like this is color normally, then adjust the value and all that with a separate layer and merge everything. The minimum layer approach is something I picked up on when I was using ibis paint x on my phone in 2014 I think? Back then I had 3 layers to work with and I made that count and I guess that never left

5. ~shading~✨️ aka my favorite part aka the part where everything comes together. The shading really depends on the vibe and thing I'm drawing. Some shading is complex and some shading is simple. It's definitely the most fun part

6. Detailing. That's what I do afterwards stuff like rim lighting or texturing! Tho texturing is something new im trying. I'm kind of sick of my art looking flat sooo I use a variety of brushes to help with that. Genuinely think it looks good, makes my stuff look more alive

7. Sign it. I cannot stress this enough. SIGN YOUR WORKS!!! WHATEVER IT IS, SIGN IT!! I put my signature in places it's difficult to remove because you never ever know if some bloke wants to steal or not. Protect your creative property and sign it, watermark it. Make sure that people know it's yours and yours only

This art piece made me scream into the fucking void omfg, this was brutal. 77 layers and a lot of folders on Ibis Paint X. Hopefully I didn’t miss any mistakes cause I did when I showed this to Discord, and while I was posting this I almost forgot to unhide Ben’s pillow.

In one of the Ben 10 Discord’s I’m in, someone was like “Hey I’m working on a Ben 10 character mixtape and was tempted to add Brutal by Olivia Rodrigo for Ben just for these lines.” And I was like “Yo I’m tempted to draw that!” And here we are 4 days later. (In app time says like 16 hours and 18 minutes lmao.) More details about the drawing under the cut cause, boy oh boy does Allie have a lot to talk about with this piece.

I used a lot of screenshots from the show as a reference in order to draw how I saw this in my head. The second one was actually a reference to Young Justice episode Misplaced where Billy saw Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad on the TVs from the store he was walking past. “I feel like no one wants me” I was originally just going to do only Azmuth and Ben, but I wanted to do a three thing and I ended up going with Julie since their relationship in UA was rocky. (I also debated using Grandpa Max over her, but I couldn’t think of a time where Max was like that.) Also fun fact everytime I kept writing “feel” I did “fell” and took me so long to get it right. I was gonna go with a school background, but I couldn’t get it right so I went with what I did. Y’all know how when your life is a mess everyone seems like a shadow to you and everything around you is fuzzy? That’s what I was going for there. Also the fact that people want Ben for his aliens, not himself. “And I hate the way that I’m perceived” For the news report I did use the screenshot of that pose itself because I honestly couldn’t get it right when trying to freehanded it nor did I want to straight up trace it cause of how I had the TV screens. Figured there was no harm in using the screenshot itself for it. Just like “feel”, I had a tough time writing “perceived” correctly, I kept doing “pre-” over “per-”. Listen pretty sure I’m dyslexic so bare with me, English is hard. “I only have two real friends” Despite the fact that Kevin and Gwen are in their Season 3 Alien Force outfits, this takes place in UA. I went with those outfits for that lyric simply because I wanted to lmao. (And I guess cause it makes more sense cause before Vilgax came back the trio was having a good time? It makes sense I swear.)

“And lately, I’m a nervous wreck” I was originally using a photo of Danny from Danny Phantom as a reference cause he’s been a nervous wreck in some episodes, and I couldn’t remember Ben ever being nervous like how I wanted to draw him to do a reference. But Danny just ended up being thrown out the window when that wasn’t working out, ended up doing what I did though. I was originally gonna color the floor, but I was playing around with brushes on Ibis and that happened. I kept it cause it worked for what I was going for lol.

Also just a FYI, my DeviantArt is Kira Sema so that’s why my watermark in the panels say that over my actual name/username here. I’m trying to keep my newer artwork with a consistent watermark that leads somewhere if someone were to look up the name. (Despite the fact I’m still very backlogged on uploading old/current artwork to my DA.)

So, it's my first miraculous salt. Today I will be reviewing Episode 1 of Season 5. I will review all of the season eventually, I tried to get prints of them talking But I couldn't find any site, they didn't had subtitles or they had watermarks, I hope I can fix this in the future, I know I am quite late so let's begin!

Today we a are going to talk about evolution

We start the episode with the resolution of the cliffhanger they left in Strike Back

The reporter that I honestly don’t care about start explaining to the audience- I mean the viewers of her show about what happened and for some reason everyone is on the side of ladybug. Ladybug and chat noir yells at the shadow moth’s butterfly face. Oh, he calls himself monarch now? Gabi, you are in France, its not a good idea to call yourself that.

Anyways ladybug and chat noir yells at monarch’s butterfly face. So now he can hear what the akumas hear? Intersecting concept I guess

chat noir breaks the turtle shield with his baton because this shield already lost his value 2 seasons ago. Ladybug uses her yoyo to scare the akumas away

Ladybug: thank you chat noir

Chat noir: it’s you and me

Another one for the compilation of Adrien being a hypocrite yey :D

Gabriel talks to Emily’s body again while explaining the audience that he got the miraculous and blablabla. Second time they explain this, lets see how many time they are going to say that Gabriel got the jewels

But really I thing this scene is good. they intersperse between gabi and the heroes speaking they show of how Gabriel is a monster to the kwamis, and how he doesn’t care someone is going to die, he only care to achieve his goal, THAT IS WHAT A SCARY VILLAIN SHOULD ACT LIKE A GUY WHO CARES ABOUT HIMSELF AND HE ONLY AN ABUSIVE MANIPULATOR, a shame that gabriel’s reputation was ruined long long ago, but pretty good scene

He calls his girlfriend Nathalie and tells the audience that he got the jewels (X3).

And says that his plain is use the bunny miraculous to travel back in time and steal ladybug and chat noir’s miraculous when they were at their weak, wow a good plan? COMING FROM GABRIEL? This is what I call miraculous

But then. look at first this was good but from here is just bullshit

we have monarch’s design that just.

OK I have a LOT to talk about it. Why is he purple guy? The mask looks like batman and that crown thing looks so stupid in him. He has these things on his shoulders that are so awful. The sunglasses make him look even dumbber. And the butterfly in his body it’s so ugly, I get what they are trying to do here “he is a villain, the miraculous are too colorful, we can’t have colorful things in villains” but like, why didn’t they do the same with luzan (luz titan form) make the whole thing dark with just these light’s parts on, I know it probably wouldn’t get that goof but at least is better that what we got, and because his skin color is also purple It looks like he is necked, and why does his hair gives zeus vibes? Well I will give this desing a 1/10 I liked the gloves

And then bunnix appears and explains to the two idiots monarch is using the time travel miraculous, bunnix, Alix, we all know how time travels works in this show, we saw monarch saying his plan out loud, THE AUDIENCE ALREADY KNOWS IT. AND I BET KNOW IT TOO THEY ALREADY SAW YOU USING IT. YOU DON’T NEED TO EXPLAAAA

Chat noir: Monarch didn’t waisted any time using his new powers

Ladybug: And of course, he started with the rabbit miraculous the most powerful one

Bunnix: amateur, time is like a river with multiple streams and the burrow is when they all come together you with me?

Bunnix: ok I’ll make it simple the burrow is like a car and we both got the keys

Spoiler: they didn’t take the miraculous back

Monarch fuses with the fox the bee and the turtle the miraculous and runs off using mirage to distract the heroes while he paralyzes bunix with venon, and makes a shield using the turtle for they don’t get the miraculous before him. hm neat plan

Unfortunally for gabe the turtle miraculous dosent have any value anymore so chat noir just cataclysms it and they get the rabbit miraculous after ladybug again uses her yoyo to catch him

He unifies with the dragon miraculous and flies away

Chat noir gives ladybug the rabbit miraculous. But ladybug gives it back saying that he should wear it and chat fuses into Rabbit noir

Honestly, I think the design is pretty decent, its not amazing but it doesn’t suck

I think black and cyan/blue mix very well, they use some cyan in the suit. I am not the fan of the pattern they put the cyan but very cool, the ears are too big in my opinion but its cool just. This doesn’t remember me of a bunny. Looks more like tech but not a bunny. And because of that for the rest of the review your name will be tech noir. For the design 7/10

Monarch goes to the episode copycat and tries to get chat noir’s miraculous just to ladybug and tech noir to appear and they start a time travel chase scene

But tech noir uses his borrow again? But he is a teen, so he should detrasform, but we get an explanation to that

Ladybug: how is that possible? you already used your power

Tech noir: Have I used or am I going to? Looks like the miraculous of time is unaffected by regular time

Ok makes sense, but ladybug, you used it just one episode ago, shouldn’t you know it already?

They travel to heroes’ day just so they get out of there in less than a second making the whole scene poitless. We see alya and nino kissing blablabla

And they go to backwarder, where monarch fuses with the dog miraculous and fech the rabbit but because gabe is using to many miraculous at once he gets weak and dies I mean he doesn’t die. But it looks like so

So now monarch is sleeping the heroes have him literally on their feet what will they do?

a) Take the miraculous back

b) Make sure there’s no way of him escaping and then the miraculous back

c) Take the only bunny miraculous slower than a turtle and then get distracted by their dead master

Gabriel unfuses with some of the miraculous fetch the rabbit back to him and creates a shield

Ladybug: destroy his shield!

Tech Noir: I already used my cataclysm

Wait but you are telling me that he can use the borrow multiple times but the cataclysmt? Doesn’t it apply the same logic as the bunny? Have he used or is he going to use, HOW ONE WORKS BUT NOT THAT DOSENT MAKE ANY SENSE

Monarch fuses with the bunny again and run away YOU HAD HIM RIGHT THERE YOU IDIOTS

Ladybug cries because she was an idiot and tech noir assure her that she wasn’t (which is a lie) and she actives her lucky charm which is a mini miracle box same lucky charm as in heroes day which they don’t know how to use. chat fucking flirts with her, it’s not the time buddy and they go talk to their dead master when he was young. And Monarch goes back to the episode reverser, I miss season 2, when this show was actually good

Even after unfusing with some kwamis he still is dying so he asks the rest of the kwamis why

Sass(amongus?): Kwamis need to be feed, without food we become week and so do your powers

Monarch: I know but I have nothing for you I AM YOUR MASTER

Sass: if you destroy us, you will destroy yourself too

But adults can use miraculous without recharging that’s the whole point, you know what? I Don’t care

Monarch goes to the train where his girlfriend is in and detransforms and ask her for food

While that ladybug and tech noir talks to master fu explain everything and he... fucking belives? It’s really that easy? I wont question anymore I just want to be done with this episode

They get the dog miraculous and give them to little Alix which transforms into canine girl

Her desing is the best new desing in the whole episode and the best desing for the dog holders. Her name kinda sucks thought

Yet I love how they used brown instead of orange, the beret was a nice touch, she has the ball in her chest to represent the adult bunnix having a white lil thing in her’s perfection

I will give her a 8.6/10 not perfect but great

And we get an emotional moment (it lasts less than a minute but still) where alix says bye to her father, she can’t stay around anymore, she has to protect the bunny miraculous and fullfill her destiny, but they just make it last some seconds and lets go back to Gabriel, is it called wasted potential?

They go back to when they had monarch in their feet but instead of getting the miraculous they just say to alix fetch it

And they go to heroes day, when AGAIN they could defeat scarlet moth (Other stupid name) and then it would all be fine but they rather set up a trap for monarch

Which Gabriel Nathalie teels Gabriel to give to his past self the tutorial to how fix the peacock and save Nathalie and Emelie. He transforms and go to that time give the tutorial and time is erased and everything got fine :D

Of course, not because every human being in this show has 1 brain cell

He goes back to heroes day where alix gets the bunny and fuse with it

And really, I wont talk about this one much, its just. The colors don’t match, that’s all I have to say, I wonder how they gave us canine girl and than in the same episode they gave us this, Who bets they spent all their money on canine girl and didn't last any for the rest?

Alix escape and tech noir uses the borrow to also escape, ladybug fixes everything tech noir now chat noir gives back the rabbit to adult alix

And mini alix transform into bunnix, they give back the dog to master fu. and they send monarch back. Right on the side of the heroes

THIS IS YOU CHANGE TAKE THEM TAKE THEM NOW

Gabriel escapes... again

Could you not be stupid for FIVE SECONDS?

Nathalie tells Gabriel how stupid he was and that she is not going to help him anymore.

And that’s where the episode ends

This episode sucks, so bad. It’s not the worst of the season but yet

Ladybug is stupid Chat noir is stupid Gabriel is stupid time travel in miraculous is stupid

Bunnix Origin is stupid the writing is stupid the bunny miraculous is stupid MLB IS STUPID

That’s really all I have to say. I will give this episode a 3/10

Reblogging vs reposting - a rant…

I wonder how long it’ll be before a certain someone decides to save and re-upload my latest bunch of gifs 😒 All I seem to see around here these days are re-uploads of my old gifs by the same person, usually with hundreds of notes on them. When their blog initially appeared, the majority of the owner’s posts were just copypasta of my gifs from the previous few years - not reblogs, to be clear. Giving her the benefit of the doubt (she was new and pretty young), I sent her a friendly message:

As you can see, her response was to block me with no reply - but it hasn’t stopped her from continuing to rip my gifs off, going way back to the days when I was still learning and didn’t know how to make them without a big “makeagif.com” watermark at the bottom right 🙄 I guess she either sees them in reblogs (which is how I see her posts everywhere) and saves them, or she views my blog in a browser window without signing in. I just had a look at hers using the same trick, and there are asks saying things like “where did you find that video? I’ve been looking for that for years” and she replies along the lines of “oh, it’s not available on the site where I found it anymore”. I doubt she’s ever even seen most of the videos I used to make the gifs. They were just lifted from my blog.

“But Swift, why get so precious about it? Aren’t you stealing from the original videos when you make gifs anyway?”

One or two people have asked me similar things over the last several years. My take on gifs can be broken down into 5 parts…

1. They’re ubiquitous on the Internet and seem to get a free pass as low-quality glimpses lasting a couple of seconds with no audio. Major entertainment studios tend to enforce copyright restrictions with an iron fist, but you never see them going after gifs. Official accounts can be seen posting humorous gifs that others have made of their films, shows, music videos etc etc. They’re just part of Internet culture at this point. I’ve seen gifs others have made of me tickling my friends out there online … I’ve even seen a couple of me being tickled, God help me 😱

2. I believe that enough work goes into making a gif for it to qualify as transformative content. Most of it is actually the time spent watching a video like a hawk (usually with the sound off for context) and waiting for a brief spike of beauty or intensity or excitement. Then I’ll replay it a few times, screen record it, crop out any black bars, trim it (sometimes trying to make it loop as smoothly as possible), convert it to a gif while adjusting the size, FPS, format etc, optimise it to get the file size down and finally post it with a caption. All of this was learned through trial and error … which is plain to see in my earliest posts 😅 If reaction videos fall under transformative content from which some people make a fortune, my little non-profit tickle gifs are OK by me.

3. As a hard rule, I never make gifs from videos that aren’t already available to view somewhere online. A lot of them are actually from preview clips posted by the studios themselves, since they put all of the best moments in there anyway! I’ve been known to pay for tickle videos, but I never use them as gif material.

4. I spend a fair bit of time telling people where gifs are from when they ask eg. “Oh, it’s from a free preview of this video by this studio, full version available on Clips4Sale here.” I reckon I’ve actually directed a lot of traffic towards creators by this point.

5. I’m just continuing a convention that pre-dates my involvement on Tumblr and will probably carry on for a long time. When I arrived here, I was more interested in well-drawn art, well-written stories and community meet-up/session videos which warmed my icy heart and really made me want to be a part of things here. To my surprise, the engagement on gif posts dwarfed every other type of content, even videos. Ironically, I don’t actually get much pleasure from them myself, I find them empty without the audio. I always want to hear how much the lee is suffering, sue me 😁 Still, I figured that learning how to make gifs would be the most effective way to integrate myself here - and I was right, it was 😉 I do think it’s crazy, though, that a gif of mine could get hundreds of notes in 24 hours when I was posting regularly, but talented artists and writers struggle to get a few dozen in total. They’re the real content creators.

Anyway, yeah, there you go. It’s also true that content takes on a life of its own to some extent once you upload it. I see a bunch of my stuff on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok … people regularly upload it to Discord servers that I’m in (or even help to moderate) and I just smile to myself and don’t say anything. Posting a gif on a different platform is one thing, but I do think that posting literally dozens of them on the exact same platform is shady as hell when the reblog button exists. Especially when I reached out amicably and was blocked with no response.

It’s been one of the factors behind my activity dropping off so much in the past year - motivation to make gifs is hard to find when you know that someone’s waiting to help themselves to anything you throw out there. The only reason I haven’t named this person is that she’s on the young side, although not a minor (as you can see, my original message to her was sent over a year ago and I never said anything in public to spare her any flaming that might ensue) but I have to admit, it’s beginning to grate on me - especially when I see people tagging her blog as the source when they incorporate the gifs into their own posts…
