YUKARI AGAIN NO PROBLEMS

happy anniversary!! four years ago, after posting a couple of doodles on twitter, i decided to make a blog to post them on, and through some fucking miracle, that first ever post got some really good attention. and now, here we are, four years later, and i can actually draw something akin to human anatomy. wow!

so like. it's kind of been a big year for me! i said i'd draw something every week and i pretty much pulled that off. experimented. learnt about some basic sai functions. got more confident in my art... something that i want to try to dig into more next year, even if i don't keep up the weekly pattern

as i write this (the day before it posts), i've reached 1000 followers for this silly little blog. which is nuts. the idea of that many people liking what i do is genuinely incredible. of course, in the grand scheme of things, maybe 1000 isn't that many? i need to start shooting for 10k, clearly. even so, whatever number i have is spectacular, and i'm incredibly grateful that any and all of you like my work so much, whether it be the art, writing, or Posting. here's to four years of a silly little sideblog for a series i got into on a whim back in november 2019, and hopefully to at least another four (provided the website lasts that long...)

personal 2023 highlights!!!!:

started teaching myself how to make a video game!!!!!

tho it still needs work, i started learning different line art techniques

did a whole week of kuukou art and i’m pretty proud of the final products lol

learned to make a simple ice cream from scratch

sonic frontiers the final horizon changed the trajectory of my entire life

met mito youhei from slam dunk 🫶

rhyme anima s2 depicted kuukou in a way that didn’t fill me with dread every week lmao

hypstage may have ended but it gave us one of the best lives this year, stage bb won their championship, i got my ideal 2nd drb finals thru them, and they kept putting out banger after banger with each rep live they were so powerful 😔🙏

found a goal to try and work on and started working full time hours to achieve it ✌️

#this is vee speaking #where’s the hypstage fan questionaire i want an excuse to ramble about stage stuff i occasionally think about lmao #i only really felt productive towards the end of the year like that’s when i discovered new goals #but that is mostly because original plans i was working towards never became available lmao #but i’m having fun planning shit now comes the adjustment period as i figure out how to make it happen with a new schedule lol #this wasn’t the biggest year for kuukou but we got plenty i think!!!!!!!! #besides the anime we got get busy and kuukou was a subtle but important factor in the bp story #bat’s rep live was legendary for a multitude of reasons #stage kuukou was primarily in charge of the hype in bop2023 which was sick to see (go off hirono-san 💜) #and for the 6th anniversary party they let hayama-san drop the biggest news of the event and he did so with kuukou flare 💜 #2023 was a fun year personally!!!!!!!! i learned a lot about myself as well that’s a little bit more positive than previous years lol

hm.. after giving it more thought i think i want elise to win this months sonic channel poll. its a tough choice because elise and merlina both only appeared in one game and havent been acknowledged since then but. sonic and the black knight had a mix of 2d and 3d cutscenes and elise has only ever appeared as a 3d model.. with that in mind i would really like to see a cute cartoony style drawing of elise. also considering the character thats already been decided to appear in the art is silver i think id rather see him interact with elise than merlina. also it would be so nice to see more sonic 06 acknowledgement that isnt just "haha wasnt this game terrible guys *insert picture of elise kissing sonic*" especially considering itll be portraying the most hated character from that game in a positive light. so yeah #elisesweep

#i know sonic 06 is considered a failure but. #i dont think sega pretending it never existed except for having the sonic twitter make fun of it occasionally #is helping sonics reputation at all if anything its just feeding into the ''haha sonic bad'' mentality more #and i do think sonic 06 had its good qualities. like there are bad parts im not denying that. that kiss scene was weird as hell #but i think the game had a lot of potential even if the execution could have been better #theyve become less weird about sonic 06 recently. making references to it that arent just jokes #but elise still hasnt showed up in anything at all . like they played her theme at the 30th anniversary symphony #which was very surprising but i still dont really count that #also i think theres people who are only voting for merlina so sir galahad can show up and um. #i dont know if you guys are aware but the theme and silver's outfit are already chosen and its not knights related #said so in the caption of the poll #you can still vote for merlina if you want to. i wont be mad if she wins i like her a lot . probably more than elise actually #but if youre only voting to see satbk silver youre gonna be disappointed

i find it so funny the fact they have so completely set it up so that tennant could come back again at some point in the future. like. they knew hes gonna make his way back into the show again. of course hes going to want to. they cant keep him away. so they might as well set it up to make sense in the story now. no point pretending whatever they wrote would be his last ever appearance. like come on.
