@spikeface's reasons to love this fic: This is such a terrific fic, and its impact sneaks up on you. It starts off with delightfully crabby banter between Theo and Josh, who are both waiters in this AU, and then takes off into some of my favorite dialogue in a while. It really nails that weird kind of friendship between people who know each other very well but also annoy the hell out of each other. The Scott&Stiles friendship and Theo&Stiles frenemy-ship is delightful, and the perfect backdrop for Theo and Scott's quiet longing. The extent of Theo's desire for Scott gets drawn out perfectly by the course of the fic, in ways that are a mix of funny and poignant and a perfect translation of canon to this AU, and Scott's quiet but insistent desire is the perfect complement. The ending feels so earned, and makes you want to reread the fic immediately.

Ok well after 4 weeks straight of vet appointments to our vet an hour away, we finally got the definitive bad news about our oldest cat. So. Now it's just making sure he's comfortable and seeing what to do from there

#hes only 13 but he has an untreatable type of cancer cats can commonly get so. it hasnt been a good end of year or beginning of new year #there was ONE week between nov 25 to literally today that we didnt go to the vet. ONE. in the last 6 weeks weve been to a vet 8x #3 cats. 8 vet appts in 6 weeks between them all. fucking exhausted & still somehow have tears to cry every goddamn day #anyway fuck 2022 & apparently fuck 2023 too

Not really a question, but I suddenly had the urge to delve into this topic.

It's really occurred to me on numerous occasions how mind boggling it is that Undertaker really doesn't give af. Like how ironic is it that for someone who repeatedly talks about one taking care of one's soul because you only get the one could indirectly commit mass murder to achieve a personal goal. Children were included in these Sphere Music Hall "sacrifices" as well as the Campania and even his disregard for the s4 who are still in a way kids.

And the fact that I love TF out of this character but really have to pause and evaluate all the damage he's caused while at the same time rooting for him to not get caught and killed 😭 I'm so torn.

Does Undertaker give af?

Idk really what to say to explain his apparent lack of caring what he does, particularly when he seems to care a lot what our earl does.

Other than: I'm not entirely sure Undertaker thinks his soul is redeemable or even worth saving. Maybe, when he deserted his post, he gave up any hope of redemption... even if he actually still had a chance.

I sure hope that his backstory helps explain this completely hypocritical situation.

Moonbound: One Year Since Artemis I

On this day last year, the Artemis I rocket and spacecraft lit up the sky and embarked on the revolutionary mission to the Moon and back. The first integrated flight test of the rocket and spacecraft continued for 25.5 days, validating NASA’s deep exploration systems and setting the stage for humanity’s return to the lunar surface.

On Nov. 16, 2022, the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket met or exceeded all expectations during its debut launch on Artemis I. The twin solid rocket booster motors responsible for producing more than 7 million pounds of thrust at liftoff reached their performance target, helping SLS and the Orion spacecraft reach a speed of about 4,000 mph in just over two minutes before the boosters separated.

Quite a few payloads caught a ride aboard the Orion spacecraft on the Artemis I mission: In addition to a number of small scientific satellites called CubeSats, a manikin named Commander Moonikin Campos sat in the commander’s seat. A Snoopy doll served as a zero-gravity indicator — something that floats inside the spacecraft to demonstrate microgravity. 

During the mission, Orion performed two lunar flybys, coming within 80 miles of the lunar surface. At its farthest distance during the mission, Orion traveled nearly 270,000 miles from our home planet, more than 1,000 times farther than where the International Space Station orbits Earth. This surpassed the record for distance traveled by a spacecraft designed to carry humans, previously set during Apollo 13.

The Orion spacecraft arrived back home to planet Earth on Dec. 11, 2022. During re-entry, Orion endured temperatures about half as hot as the surface of the Sun at about 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Within about 20 minutes, Orion slowed from nearly 25,000 mph to about 20 mph for its parachute-assisted splashdown. 

Recovery teams successfully retrieved the spacecraft and delivered it back to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center for de-servicing operations, which included removing the payloads (like Snoopy and Commander Moonikin Campos) and analyzing the heat shield.  

With the Artemis I mission under our belt, we look ahead to Artemis II — our first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years. Four astronauts will fly around the Moon inside Orion, practicing piloting the spacecraft and validating the spacecraft’s life support systems. The Artemis II crew includes: NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen. 

As we look ahead to Artemis II, we build upon the incredible success of the Artemis I mission and recognize the hard work and achievements of the entire Artemis team. Go Artemis!
