Nothing But Thieves waren im LKA in Stuttgart

Die fünfköpfige Band Nothing But Thieves aus Essex in Großbritannien tourt zur Zeit quer durch die europäische und britische Festival Landschaft. Vergangenes Wochenende waren die Nothing But Thieves bei Rock am Ring und im Park im Line Up, weshalb ihnen nun zum ersten Mal ein Abstecher nach Stuttgart gelang. Einige Fans in der ersten Reihe, hatten es an diesem Montag Abend sogar direkt von einem der Festivals ins Stuttgarter LKA Longhorn geschafft. Ingesamt war das LKA sehr gut besucht und die Schlange am Einlass war so lange wie schon lange nicht mehr. Ein Vorband gab es auch, um kurz nach 20 Uhr betraten die The Vices aus Groningen, Niederlande die Bühne. Im Jahr 2019 gegründet durften die Band bereits im vergangen Jahr auf der Europa Tournee der Nothing But Thieves Support spielen. Eine halbe Stunde gaben The Vices Vollgas hatten richtig Spaß ebenso die Stuttgarter, die zu den Songs tanzten und auch bei einiges Songs mitsingen konnten.

The Vices © About Musïc | Stephanie Bauer Im Vordergrund ist eindeutig Sänger und Gitarrist Floris van Luijtelaar mit Anzug, den Haaren und nur mit Socken und seiner Gitarre erinnerte er uns an Frontmänner der frühen Indie Zeiten. Und irgendwie haben es The Vices geschafft, das sich das LKA für eine halbe Stunde wie ein kleiner ausverkaufter Club anfühlte.

The Vices © About Musïc | Stephanie Bauer Gegen 21 Uhr unter großem Applaus schritten der Sänger, Conor Mason und seine Nothing But Thieves Bandmitglieder die Treppe des Longhorns herunter. Den Abend eröffneten sie mit ihrer neuen Single Welcome to the DCC vom am 07. Juli 2023 erscheinenden Album Dead Club City. Was sich vorhin noch wie ein ausverkaufter Club anfühlte war nun wie eine ausverkaufte Halle.

Fast schon überrascht erschienen uns die Nothing But Thieves als die Stimmung von Song zu Song ausgelassener wurde und die Stuttgarter mit der Band verschmolzen sind.

Gleichzeitig tanzt er immer wieder über die Bühne und verliert sich im Sound seiner Bandmitglieder. Neben der stimmlichen Gewalt liefert nämlich auch der Rest der Band ordentlich ab. Die beiden Gitarristen Joe Langridge-Brown und Dominic Craik sorgten für die ein oder anderen Gitarrensolos, die gerade zu prädestiniert für Moshpits sind. Es ging also richtig ab.

Danach verließen sie die Stage um kurz darauf energiegeladen zurück zu kommen. Unperson, I Was Just a Kid, Real Love Song und Erstmals live Keeping You Around. Beendet wurde der Abend mit dem großartigen Song Amsterdam. Der sowohl von Band als auch Publikum groß zelebriert wurde. Die Setlist von den Nothing But Thieves in Stuttgart. 01.
