they have a teenage daughter named bristol that’s super angsty and has the live fast aspiration from hsy so she sneaks out and gets into trouble at school a lot. she has a crush on her best friend marjane who’s been having a stay over at the house for a sims week so i’m like 👀 waiting to see if any autonomous romance will happen with them BUT bristol also has a crush on another girl from school so idk which one i want her to go to prom with and it’s stressing me out!!!

AU where Wilhelm never went to Hillerska but Erik was there in the same year as August. The whole drug thing with Alexander still happened and they put the blame on Simon, being a non-resident. Simon never gave August drugs, there was no reason to but he did supply them with booze once, only so his sister can attend an exclusive party to make friends. August exploited this situation to frame Simon because he's an easy target. No one would believe him if he retaliated, especially against the Crown Prince. So, Simon got expelled.

Erik was just glad to get out of trouble. He knows what they did was wrong but it's just how it is, sacrifices had to be made. If the queen found out, it would out their reputation in danger, who cares about what happens to one kid?

Weeks passed and The Society all moved on and forgot about it, Erik didn't even think of it again. Until one day, he overheard some of the first year girls talking about the non-res.

Felice Ehrenchrona was comforting a girl named Sara who was apparently the kid's sister. She was going on about how her brother's life has been ruined. No school would accept him now since he was expelled from a reputable school for dealing drugs, and he can't even try to get a job because of the bad record. Simon, (Erik didn't even know his name until now) had been in such a dark place apparently, he's been depressed and has been pushing everyone away. He doesn't talk anymore and was now unresponsive. He doesn't even eat anymore either. Sara talked about how worried she is for her little brother and that went right through Erik's heart. He imagined himself in Sara's position, worried for the well-being of his little brother who is the most precious person in his life. For the first time, Erik feels guilt. He never really realized the consequences or how trying to protect his image would affect someone else. The realization dawned that his actions had caused irreparable harm, amplifying his remorse.

More days passed and Erik has been eaten by guilt. He couldn't sleep, he couldn't eat, he feels so anxious ever since and is now determined to make things right. He doesn't know how, but he will.

He was contemplating about paying Simon a visit, maybe give him a fair amount of compensation or use his connections to get him accepted to a good school. He's too busy making plans that he doesn't hear his door open until he saw his little brother sobbing his heart out and throwing himself at him.

Erik knew that Wilhelm had always been more sensitive than him but he has never seen him this broken. He realized that he's so preoccupied with his guilt and making plans that he hasn't really had time to see his brother lately. As Wilhelm sobbed, Erik's protective instinct kicked in, consoling him and encouraging him to share what was troubling him. He hates seeing his little brother hurt. Wilhelm broke down again and told him that there's actually a lot he doesn't know, he's been keeping something from Erik but he can't take it anymore and told him everything.

Erik was shocked. Suddenly, he feels like he doesn't really know his brother at all. Where was he? Why didn't he know anything? Wilhelm told him that he's queer. That he has a boyfriend. Had. apparently. He explained to him that his boyfriend broke up with him weeks ago, without any reason why. The boyfriend only told him that Wilhelm deserves someone who's life isn't fucked up and he doesn't want to ruin him too. Wilhelm begged him to stay but his boyfriend still left. Wilhelm doesn't know what to do, he knows his boyfriend loves him and that there is something he isn't telling him but he doesn't know how to help him if he keeps pushing him away. He stopped responding to Wilhelm's messages, and Wilhelm didn't really know anyone he could ask because they kept their relationship a secret.

Erik listened patiently and felt his heart break for his little brother. He didn't know what but he will do everything to know what is going on, he promises Wilhelm. His brother thanked him and through his tears told him how grateful he is to have his support but then he started crying in full force and told Erik he just found out through some sources that his boyfriend (or ex), Simon, is in the hospital and asked Erik to help him be able to see him. Erik felt his blood run cold. Slowly piecing together the puzzle, he began to realize the unthinkable:

The boy, who's life he ruined, is none other than his little brother's boyfriend.

What the fuck has he done?

I want to learn seidr but idk where to start or what resources are even valid and not tainted by bigotry or transphobia. A lot of posts are very vague, too. So I have no idea what they actually mean. Any thoughts?

Hello! Thank you so much for the ask.

Seiðr is quite the mysterious practice, which is why you must have found difficult to find trustworthy sources, or even one that could clearly define its nature. We currently know very, very little about it. What we do know for sure is that it was a form of pre-Christian magical practice, the uses of which stretched from divination to healing, luck-bringing, controlling weather and making game plentiful (archaeologist Neil Price). It was neither a force of "good" nor one of "evil", as it could also be used to fulfill malicious purposes, such as to cause conflicts or cast curses.

Unlike galdr, which was often practiced by men, seiðr was seen as a rather "feminine" practice. But as always, there have been exceptions to this: after all, mythology has it Óðinn himself, in his eternal search for knowledge, had learned to master seiðr! Though it was considered dishonorable for men to practice it back in Iron Age Scandinavia, it was common enough for a word to describe such men to emerge: seiðmenn. For this reason, neither galdr not seiðr are (or ever have been) confined to specific genders. This, I felt compelled to specify, especially since you've mentionned having stumbled upon many transphobic posts in your research. Galdr and seiðr do not belong to any given gender.

Another difference we could find in modern practice as opposed to historical practice is the means to reach the seiðrkona's staple trance. Archeological finds have informed us that the practice often would have involved trance-inducing intoxicants, which would have enabled the practionner to receive visions and use divination. It's possible for us to recreate such conditions in vastly different ways, namely, using music, chants, repetitive motions and the like.

Now, what's interesting to note is that the Goddess Freyja was also said to be a master of the art. Since she is often thought to be the archetype of a völva, magic practitionners who famously carried a long staff which was crucial to their craft. The term völur actually means "staff carrier", or "wand carrier". This means that to anybody seeking to re-construct this practice, the use of some sort of staff would be near essential.

Though the accounts describing völur and their work are sparse, it's still possible for us to make out a few recurring informations: they were wanderers (and were generally viewed as standing apart from society), which makes them likely to have had some sort of connection with the God Óðinn, and they went from village to village to offer their help and insights. When welcomed into a household, it's very likely they would have been offered to sit at the head of the table, replacing whoever was the head of house in their seat. This means that their presence was considered of the highest respectability. If you're interested in learning more about völur, I suggest checking out the Saga of Erik the Red, which contains the most detailed account of a völva known today.

Another interesting detail to be noted about seiðr is that weaving, whether it was physical or metaphysical, was a central part of the practice. After all, the Norns, who weave the Wyrd, are said to be the greatest of Seiðkonur. Another mythical element to support this theory is that Freyja as a deity seems to share lots of common points with Frigg. In fact, it's very likely the two were worshipped as one deity at some point in time, and depending on the areas. While Freyja is said to be a magician, capable of surviving a pyre thrice, famously, Frigg is more a clairvoyant master of divination, able to foresee the future. And both these different types of witchcraft could very well be considered seiðr practices! Now, Frigg is often depicted weaving using a spindle. That's because her myth has it she is the one who weaves the clouds, and is therefore a talented artist in this domain, which furthers the connection between magic (or at the very least, divination) and the textile arts. It's also interesting to note that the Nornir and Frigg have one major element in common: their ties with fate. While the Nornir weave fate, Frigg knows everything that's to come in the future, though she never speaks a word of it. This particular element of their respective stories greatly emphasizes the imortance of divination and foresight within seiðr practices.

Though I do work with witchcrat, I don't consider myself a practionner of this art per say. That's because oftentimes, the nordic magic I use takes the form of rune-carving, a practice inherent to taufr instead of seiðr. What little information we have on seiðr is unfortunately not enough to determine exactly how it was practiced, apart from the fiew hints here and there. I'm sorry that I can't be of much more help concerning this topic, but I'll link below a few online articles to check out if you're interested in some further reading.

I literally can’t stop thinking about Young Royals S3

I have always been fascinated by Wille’s relationship with his parents, or lack thereof. Specifically his mother, because until this season, his father was little more than a cardboard cutout. In S1 I strongly disliked Kristina. In S2 she seemed to be trying a little more, though her efforts were specifically aimed at achieving her own goals for Wilhelm, not his. In S3, I once again dislike her, but I feel bad for disliking her.

Because truly, her grief, the extreme psychological and physical manifestations of losing a child that she is experiencing, is all completely valid, and within the spectrum of what is expected of a parent who has lost a child. I feel sympathy for the physical and mental health problems she is experiencing, and I think it’s OK for her to be experiencing it, to take a step back to deal with it.

What I don’t think is OK, however, is expecting her 16 year old son, a first year HS student with his own history of mental illness, who is also deeply grieving, to take over all of her responsibilities. Yeah, they don’t really mean for him to take over everything, because he’s a kid and still in school, but they’ve also really stepped up the pressure on him without offering much additional support (Farima offers some, she’s the most present adult in his life this season, and really the one who seems to know him and care about him most of the adults on the show). They ask him to start a foundation and support a cause, but neither of his parents show up to support him in doing that, even knowing that he has sometimes extreme anxiety regarding public speaking/public appearances. They don’t walk him through the process or offer guidance, just constantly remind him that he’s expected to step up, and may have to fully take over within a year or two, and send Farima to deal with him (which in my opinion is much better that Jan Olof, because Farima actually seems patient with Wilhelm and to know how to handle his emotions with sensitivity).

While I’m mad at Kristina, despite her legitimate grief, I’m more mad at Ludvig, I think. Yes, he also lost a child and is grieving, but he’s holding it together enough to support his wife, so why isn’t he offering any of that support to his son, even when said son starts reaching out more, and clearly wants to talk?

I also think this is all complicated by the fact that Wilhelm didn’t have a good, close relationship with his parents to begin with. Kristina was harsh and dismissive of him even before Erik died in season 1. If Kristina had only started neglecting Wilhelm, putting excessive pressure on him and comparing him to Erik after Erik had passed, I would be a lot more forgiving. But I get the impression that Wilhelm has always been compared to Erik, has always been made to feel that he isn’t good enough in comparison and needs to be more like Erik, and his parents have never made much effort to understand him. I think he often only got attention when he was in trouble, and toddlers and teenagers are similar in the fact that if their negative behaviors are what get the attention the desire, they will keep doing that as long as it is reinforced that negative behavior leads to attention. His outburst at them in episode 5 had been building a lot longer than the few months since Erik died.

I think his parents both desperately needed to hear what he was shouting out them. I think that shouting and getting angry and destroying things wasn’t the best way to go about getting them to listen, but as discussed above, I think it’s the only way he really knows how to get their attention. And yeah, the timing isn’t great, when his mother is suffering so much, but Wille is suffering, too, and he has reached his limit. It seems like a relatively little thing, to get mad that his parents talked too much about Erik on a day that’s supposed to be about Wilhelm and that his mom didn’t feel up to sticking around for cake, but that was really just the final straw on a long history of trauma, turmoil, and emotional neglect, the last Jenga block being pulled out before the tower toppled.

(Admittedly, this is young royals, it’s a show about Wilhelm, and we viewers have come to love him over the 3 seasons, it’s his struggle that is being portrayed, so of course I’m on his side and want better for him rather than siding with his mother even though I do feel some sympathy for her.)

Anyway, I will probably keep reflecting on this aspect of the show for a lot longer. Maybe I’ll even feel some inspiration to write fan fiction in response. We’ll see where it goes.

Physical Headcanons of Dragon Slayers

Dragon Slayer Magic, and slayer magic in general, changes the User’s physiology in ways other magic types do not– though the element they correspond with does play a major factor in what changes occur, there are some that affect all Dragon Slayers: (Hiro and Tsuki are OC’s who only sort of exist in the same universe, but are both Dragon Slayers)

All Dragon Slayers have enhanced senses, more so than their God and Devil Slayer counterparts– where only one or two of their senses are heightened

Their senses are nearly triple that of a normal humans, and often leads to sensory overloads (Hiro and Erik having stronger hearing than most dragon slayers, Erik due to the nature of his magic- able to hear thoughts and movements of the body- and Hiro due to her magic and a genetic defect- able to hear all the way to Fiore’s farthest border with her mufflers turned up to 10 [10 is the strongest setting on mufflers, allowing the most sound to come through, but still blocking most of it]. Without her mufflers, she can hear all of Ishgar)

Their sense of taste is also increased. To protect their nervous system and body from damage caused by certain flavors, dragon slayers have a thicker, viscous saliva that covers their mouth as a shield, which ends up blocking a lot of flavor

This means they can eat the hottest peppers in Fiore with little fanfare, fire dragons in particular are prone to such snacking habits.

It also means their food will have more spices than most humans can handle, because they want to taste it

Their magic forms a thin barrier around their vital organs, though the actual purpose is unknown, it is believed that it’s to guard against internal attacks – poison, illness, etc.

The thickness of the barrier depends on age and element, with Wendy having thicker barriers than someone like Erik (who is immune to toxins), but not as thick as Gajeels.

Natsu and Tsuki’s magic burns through toxins, though Natsu is still vulnerable to a few. Tsuki’s internal temperature, being a White Fire Dragon Slayer, is far to high for normal toxins.

This means that, if Tsuki gets sick, the bacteria has evolved to survive her body temperature long enough to effect her. She will be under quarantine, as some bacteria would die with the body temp lower than they evolved to handle, while others will spread even further.

Dragon Slayers are able to roar, though their age, gender, and element do play a part in what it sounds like:

Tsuki and Natsu’s pitch shifts and changes with their mood, but it’s always extremely loud

Tsuki’s is, by far, the loudest naturally– she’s had plenty practice– and it often causes the ground to shake (There have been a few fallen buildings as a result, she doesn’t roar often)

Tsuki sounds most like a dragon, as she’s the only one who really remembers being taught how to roar like a dragon and not a slayer. Hiro would have been similar if she were old enough to learn it.

Wendy and Hiro are able to twist their vocal cords to create such a high pitch, that it can’t be heard–but still bursts eardrums

Due to their age, they have to force louder volumes, and usually need several minutes to let their voices rest afterwards

Hiro’s is more draconic simply because of the nature of Storm Dragon Slayers.

Laxus’ is loud, and incredibly deep, sounding like ongoing thunder with an echoing higher pitch– and is the second naturally loudest overall

Hiro, due to being a storm dragon slayer, also has a bit of this effect– like rolling thunder and lighting aftershocks. It’s a lot quieter than Laxus’.

Gajeel’s sounds like grating, creaking metal; it’s very deep, and has a medium volume- though it does cause slight vibrations in a thirty meter radius

Sting and Rogue have a medium volume, and no one really knows what their actual roar sounds like

They mimic each other and others, like light reflections and shadows

Erik doesn’t really roar, it’s more of a loud, ominous hissing sound

The sound causes a primal sort of fear in all who hear it, though dragon slayers are more immune than average humans. It does not affect Tsuki, who was raised and trained around many slayers, and Hiro, who lives to spite her body and instincts

Dragon Slayers also purr, much like cats do, though the same factors apply

Tsuki purrs the second most, and does it especially when around those she considers hers

Her’s in specific has a soothing, and calming effect. It tells you everything will be alright, and that she’ll take care of it. It comes with being the oldest and most intune with her instincts

Natus also purrs quite a bit, usually while eating or sleeping

Since he’s still young, it’s more of the effect of a kitten on Tsuki, though non-dragon slayers don’t really notice the difference

Wendy and Hiro purr like it’s second nature, though Wendy only really does so to calm Hiro. Hiro purrs the most out of all of them

They are very noticeably kitten purrs, giving the urge to protect and nurture to the older dragon slayers that hear it

Laxus has deep rumbling purrs, and he doesn’t purr often

So far, Tsuki, Erik, Wendy, Hiro, and his kids are the only ones who have ever heard him purr

Though, it’s more like they feel him purr

Gajeel also has deep purrs, though rather quiet

Again, it’s more of something you feel than hear, his entire body shakes with the force

This is all according to Tsuki and Hiro, though some believe Wendy and Levy have heard them– neither will reveal anything

Sting and Rogue are much like Natsu, though they have more control over it– due to the trauma inflicted by Jiemma

With Tsuki, Laxus, and Erik, they are near constantly purring

They do purr around Hiro as well, its almost infectious

Erik is more similar to a snake than a cat, and his draconic sounds reflect that! So, while he doesn’t exactly purr, he also kind of does.

It sounds more like a quiet, content hissing though, but is described as more of a churr

Purrs are very infectious, if one purrs, they all purr, even if they’re doing so for different reasons

Stick em in a room with Tsuki and/or Hiro purring, and soon they’ll all be doing it without realizing

It’s a form of nonverbal communication for dragons, usually meaning happiness or contentedness

Dragon slayers have sharp claws, though their length depends entirely on the individual slayer

Some keep them filed down as not to accidentally scratch anything, but it does cause a strange, burning-itch in their fingers

The claws grow faster than an average human’s nails

Tsuki doesn’t cut hers beyond a certain point, cutting them down to the same length of the average nail is what causes the itching, almost like declawing a cat, very uncomfortable and not the usual

Natsu and Hiro don’t cut theirs down either, and it’s up to Tsuki to make sure they actually take care of them– though Hiro is generally very good at keeping them short enough to be able to do things, but long enough to defend herself if she can’t access magic

Gajeel also keeps his a certain length, and so does Erik, but Gajeel does it for max Bad Boy Effect and Erik does it because the tips can excrete poison if he wants them too, and if he cuts them too close it gets into his bloodstream and it’s really annoying

Laxus keeps his claws short because long nails make him uncomfortable, and the electricity in his body already causes itchiness. What's a little bit more?

Wendy keeps her short, but not super short, and also files them into more a square shape

Wendy likes to paint all their nails and once she and Hiro use the Puppy Eyes, no one can decline, it’s against the law

All kinds of Slayers have two magical cores, where their magic energy is stored, while other Wizards only have one.

No one knows entirely why, but it is believed that the first Slayers evolved the second core to manage their magic easier, as it is a very volatile magic genre

Dragon Slayers are hypoglycemic, mostly because of the volatile nature of their magic eating up at any sort of energy their body has– including their blood sugars.

Tsuki is the only one who is aware of this, but thinks the others are aware even if they’re not.

They know their body feels weird and they get tired, and that Tsuki makes sure they all eat after every fight and will shove food in their mouth whenever they feel that Weird Discomfort in their bones, but they don’t know why and don’t really care. That’s it.

It’s very annoying to deal with

They suck at taking care of themselves, all in different ways and all for different reasons.

Here are some of my thoughts on Young Royals S3 ep 1-5

I’m just rambling here. This is probably going to be long, all over the place and not well articulated, so bear with me.

And before I talk about the show, I just need to say that it never ceases to amaze me how incredibly talented all the actors are.

First of all, I don’t blame either Simon or Wilhelm. They are in an incredibly stressful situation. They are bound to make mistakes and I think their actions while being stubborn and lacking common sense are understandable.

I really loved Simon this season and i was so exited there was more of a focus on him. We finally got to some of how everything affected him. It broke my heart to notice he wasn’t the loudest in the choir anymore and then him saying he’s not enjoying music. Side note: Dude had some banger lines this season

I find it ironic that everything that Wille found attractive in Simon’s in s1 became things that Simon has to shut down in order to be with him

If you told yesterday me that today me was actually okay with an August redemption arc, I would not have believed you. This in no way excuses his behavior, and he still has a lot to work on, but I think it was one of my favorite parts of this season.

I am not at all surprised by the Erik thing. since s1 I kept wondering when Willie's perfect image of him would come crumbling down, but can’t imagine how devastating it would be to learn that the person who was there for you the most was not this perfect person you thought they were and might not even accept you.

I was rooting hard for Micke and Sara. I knew it was unrealistic that he wasn’t going to hurt her again, but it was still so heartbreaking that he couldn’t pull it together for her. I think there are bigger issues going on than his ADHD that needs to be handled.

Why does the queen get space and help with her anxieties and grief, but when Wilhelm is struggling he gets no support and is seen as embarrassing and problematic????

Why the fuck was it Wilhelm's responsibility to teach Simon what not to do? Obviously, this kid who has never been in the public eye has no idea what he should or shouldn’t do, it almost seems like it was deliberate to get Wilmons relationship to fail idk. It would have been so easy to get something to teach him some basic media training. It's just disturbing how the court had absolutely zero regard for Simon’s safety.

I’ve seen people talk about Wilhelm being controlling over Simon. Is it acceptable or excusable behavior? Absolutely not, but let me put things into perspective. Wilhelm was raised in an abusive and very controlling environment. His opinions and feelings didn’t matter, and he was told it was love, so it made sense that he would try to do the same for Simon and expected him to go along with it. I think expecting Wilhelm to have healthy relationship skills is unrealistic, and the show never pretended he did. It’s been pretty obvious throughout that Wilhelm consistently projects his feelings and emotions onto other people.

I still don't know if Simon was breaking up with Wille or not, or they were just trying to frame it that way to scare us (honestly hoping it leads into a more mature conversation), but if he was… Wilhelm had it coming. He hasn’t been handling things very well and is taking it out on Simon, which is just not okay, and he doesn’t deserve that. ��

Before this season, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Wille abdicating, cause i still had this fantasy in my head of him as this queer king, but after everything I’ve seen this season, it’s so obvious how much this institution is killing him. He needs to get out and heal from his traumas and find out who he really is without all those rules and pressures.

I don’t even know if I want Wilmon to be an endgame. Obviously, I do, but at this point, I don’t think that’s what’s best for either of them. It’s been very clear this season how much they don’t (at the moment) fit into each other's lives.. Either some major things have to change (Wille abdicating) or they need to split up. I just hope that both boys get a good ending, even if it’s not with each other.

I don’t know... I’m emotionally exhausted, there are so many plot lines and I really don’t know how they are going to fix everything in one episode.

Hoo boy, aside from the stock characters I by law must include (the entire cast of A Midsummer Night's Dream, etc) there's a bunch, of which this is a few-

Nadia, wielder of Nuada's silver hand and his Claíomh Solais. Very slowly singlehandedly repelling an invasion of Fomoire from the sea, where they were banished by the Tuatha Dé Danann millennia ago. While Nuada is only dead, the other Tuatha have completely faded away and can no longer affect the real world, and Nuada's silver hand is his only physical anchor to reality. Nadia, for her part, lost her arm in a car wreck as a child caused by something that was definitely not a deer, and this sudden traumatic induction into the knowledge that there is a reality beyond her own caused her to be more than willing to play host to an ancient dead god if it meant she could fight back. Technically one of the world's most powerful sorcerers, but since she's using ancient divine magic it's considered a bit of a cheat by other wizards.

Leda, a former "swan bride" who was trapped in human form by a wizard whose ass she subsequently kicked. Runs a shelter that's broadly for anyone who needs it but fills the specific niche of helping out Secret Worlders who need support or a place to stay. The most well-established Secret Worlder in the "real world" since she needs to do stuff like rent a location and pay taxes. Has no magic abilities but a lot of social connections and doesn't seem to age.

Logan Lee, one of the oldest vampires in the world. Died in the Goryeo-Khitan War in 1009. Looks like he's in his late teens, which is young enough that certain real-world things are inconvenient for him. Discovered several centuries back that the energizing properties of coffee can keep him going without needing blood as long as he drinks a lot of it, so obviously his only recourse was to smuggle coffee beans out of Arabia and jumpstart the entire global coffee trade. Works as the man-behind-the-man-behind-the-man running the global coffee corporation this grew into, and works his day job as an innocuous low-level barista in the same chain. Bankrolls a lot of secret world stuff that otherwise would never be able to break even. A bit detached from reality, but tends to show up whenever things are getting complicated, because he sort of collects interesting heroic people and the experience of going on adventures with them.

Erik. His father is a selkie, his mother was a marine biologist and lighthouse-keeper, it's a tale as old as time. They've recently and abruptly moved inland from the coast and Erik kind of hates having to adjust to a less-coastal life, and he knows his dad is also uncomfortable having to suddenly live in human form almost full-time, but neither of his parents are willing to tell him about all the monsters that have started coming up out of the ocean. He's going through a bit of an emo phase.

Aila, descendant of Tam Lin. Everyone in her family line is marked by a streak of silver hair, reflecting that Tam Lin's hair became colorless during his time in the fairy realm. Aila is the first descendant born with her hair entirely white, and she's since dyed it an innocuous brown and buried herself in oversized green sweatshirts and antique cast-iron jewelry to stave off attention from her "fairy godmother", who has been trying to re-abduct Tam Lin's descendants ever since Janet "stole" him away from her. Aila is accompanied by an emotional support dog, Lucille, that is very good at identifying things human eyes can't see. Her parents are very mild-mannered and absolute experts at warding off fey.

Jonah, a werewolf. His extended family is enormous, wealthy and structured like an actual wolf pack - as in, run by a couple generations of extremely organized parents and alarmingly willing to adopt everybody. Looks like a classic good-hearted golden retriever jock, and basically is. Very clicked in with the "real world" but from a rather sheltered and privileged angle, and the most likely of the cast to indulge in casual superheroics. Has needed "emergency pants" on several occasions.

Aden, an incubus from a Mesopotamian dream realm who decided he wasn't into any of that stuff and left for the real world to live a Normal And Totally Chill Life. Not a demon in any meaningful sense and not susceptible to any traditional methods of exorcism, but he is preternaturally attractive and sets off the alarm bells of any wizardy people around. Unconvincingly attempts to pass for a completely normal person who knows absolutely nothing about any secret worlds. He's kinda like if Helen of Troy went into witness protection. Jonah's roommate.

Serena, a young witch who lives in a beautiful extradimensional island with her moms Morgan and Hildr. The pocket dimension may or may not be Avalon. Very sheltered in her own way, with a touch of the Erin-like hubris, eg "I know everything that matters and everything else is irrelevant." Uninterested in reshaping reality but curious about life on earth, as both her moms decided they weren't interested in staying there a very long time ago. Has a tendency to sneak out. Specializes in a form of magic that involves summoning the spirits of constellations.

Bruno, Serena's cousin. A completely normal human with absolutely no powers. The only weird thing about him is his mother is Gunnr, a valkyrie shieldmaiden with a big spear and a flying wolf. She isn't home very often. When Serena sneaks into the real world, Bruno is the one who shows her around and explains the lay of the land. He knows a lot about the secret world but doesn't really think this is much of a big deal and mostly minds his business.

how so much of this season was Simon giving up so many things to be with wille while still showing how different their mentalities are. and a lot of their disagreements came from being from such different backgrounds and how wille couldn't stop from disappointing simon in order to make the crown proud.

how so often wille feels so much pressure from the environment he grew up in and simultaneously tries to prove he's not the same as them while also beginning to warp into their version of who he should be. I hope you don't mind that I ruined our time

Even though it seemed like the final scene of ep 5 came out of nowhere from wille's perspective, you know there were times when wille probably wondered to himself if simon found all of this worth it. found him to be worth it.

simon can see what the crown is doing to wille and how it affects him and how much pressure it puts him under but wille continues to insist that it's what he has to do to make his family proud and to live up to expectations.

wille feels like he can be his most authentic self with simon, but when you take simon away from the equation wille is such a lost boy.

how wille started to push simon away and project on to him after he found out about erik (and a few other times as well) because he didn't know how to handle all the thoughts in his own head and how to come to terms with the information he'd learned about erik without completely rearranging everything he *thought* he knew about his brother

How there were times you could tell that wille could tell simon was disappointed in some new rule that wille had to inform simon of but he still felt like he had to follow the court's orders

I think I need you more than you need me

I do think a part of wille believes that he needs simon more than simon needs him, even if that's the wrong mentality to have. you can tell by the times he tells simon how he's "the only one he can talk to".

Bringing back the point about Wille projecting his feelings onto Simon or even going back to the s1 music room argument and Wille's "Dealing is so low" comment even though he was the one to actually take the drugs. also there are times when you can tell wille wants his points to simon to come across differently but he isn't sure how to phrase his words (case and point "i just feel so clumsy sometimes")

I binged Young Royals and read all of Red, White, and Royal Blue in my past two days off. I guess I've been in a mood(I've also had both in the back of my mind for a while and I saw the YR fandom talking about RWRB a lot and I decided to go back on my "Movie first cause if it's not a good adaption then you won't get mad" decision)

I have to reconsume them at a slower pace but they were both SO GOOD. Young Royals especially I just couldn't stop watching. I would go to war for Willie. I would go to war for him. He and Simon were... special. Really special. Idk how to put it other than than. They love each other so much but they went through something so traumatizing without good support systems and I can understand why Willie broke as soon as the wolves attacked-hid because his identity could be hidden.

Because his life was already in pieces and what little he had put together was stolen. And it's not right, throwing Simon to the wolves alone, but he did what a lot of teenagers would do walking on nothing but broken glass.

But I'm also so proud of Simon for not letting himself be a secret. Like Season 2 kinda sucked but in the way both characters needed it to grow and come back to each other and both, in the end, was ready to compromise to keep this special and sacred love. I loved getting a vision of King!Wilhelm at the end when Willie came out and looked back at Simon(Simon is also an insanely good singer???? normally they don't cast actually good singers for those roles but oh my god I love his voice so much)

August... He's a love to hate character. Like he's utterly horrible and horrific but he also has depth. I liked that he seemed to genuinely seem to love Sara in his own way and lowkey August>>> Vincent as a leader. Also the fact that Erik was so close with August says a LOT about who Erik was outside of Willie's brother worship(And I do not like that man in the slightest).

I was rooting for Sara and Felice to be a thing ngl. I really liked Felice, I was kinda shocked, I wanted them to do more with her. From that dorm room scene in ep 1 I got the feel she was forcing herself to feel a certain way for Willie cause it was *expected* and they were friends in S2 it felt way more natural, the poke bowl bit was genuinely one of the best bits for Willie. But idk.

I've already discovered a popular Walter and Henry fic and I'm really excited to explore all the side characters/rewatch going oh that's so and so.

Oo I haven't had to think much about my favorite songs, I have been on a heavy podcast binge lately and otherwise I have been listening heavily to the playlist my roommate and I made for when we need to scream sing in the car for #mentalhealth.

Here are some of my favorite, three of these I count as my favorites based on the fact that every time they play I simply must rewind and listen to the song like five times before I can move on

'The Loneliness Waltz' by The Ballroom Thieves

This song has some incredibly smart lyrics and I love the strings in this song so much. The guitar makes my brain happy, the cello makes my soul happy. (This is a get to know me better post so here is a fun fact, I used to play the flute, but if I were to have a do-over I would have chosen to play the cello, it's so beautiful). There is some harmonizing on the last few lines that I absolutely.

My favorite lines in the song:

"Comfort reminds us of how it should feel / It wistfully chains us to fictive ideals / And it spurs us to keep all our love in a jar / Says I'm just keeping you from harm"

'Gut Punch/Don't Meet Your Idols' by Everybody's Worried About Owen

This is such a great depression song, I have listened to this song so much. It's really uptempo and again I absolutely love the lyrical work that is being done in this piece. I find this song interesting because the song is very mis-matchy between the first half and second half. The energy radically changes from a staccato bop to more of a tired, lyrical melody. I hadn't listened to this one in awhile, but some grief from last week put this song back in my head and it was very cathartic to listen to it.

Favorite lines in the song:

"Every time I see a spark / There's someone putting out the fire / But I will not let my grandparents bury their grandchild / It's a struggle back and forth / And I'm learning but it's happening by force / It's 4am and I'm fucking tired. " (Side note: it feels really good to scream "I'm fucking tired" when you are in fact, fucking tired).

'Honeybee' by Steam Powered Giraffe

This song is just so so beautiful, it's peaceful, it's loving, it's got a sort of barbershop quartet vibe when there are harmonies, and you know a bitch loves a good barbershop quartet. I think something that a lot of the songs I love have in common is at least one part of the melody that reminds me of raindrops falling (definitely why I am so desperately in love with Gymnopedie No. 1 by Erik Satie)

Favorite Lines:

'Myth to Live By' by Lizard Boy, Original Cast

Honestly, this is one of my favorite musicals even though I have never seen the actual show. I think it was a fringe festival sort of musical but there are so many songs in the Lizard Boy album that I absolutely love. I had a hard time deciding between A Terrible Ride and Myth to Live By for my favorite in their album but I really love The Woah Song, Recess is so fun, I Might Stay, I Don't Know Where to Go. Anyway that album is fun. I don't think the men's voices are necessarily the best, but I think it works the show they are performing. I am now realizing that a lot of my favorite songs have some harmonizing that I love.

Favorite lines:

THE FUCKING OPENING CELLO MOMENTS IN THIS SONG ARE SO FUCKING FUN. I did not know that cello could have a rasp to it, but oh my god I just love it so much. I'm also fueled by spite so this is a great song for me lol.

Favorite line:

Thinking it over with your Alpha Werewolf |Spoilers

So...I have a bit of a feeling about this:

I'll start by the easiest part: that little glitch on the word Inversion means something, it could be Echo, could be just a way to show how much it affected things. But THAT SOUND IS NOT GOOD.

This video is what I have been waiting for since the summit. This is a summary of the consequences that William's decisions have caused: David is suspicious of him not only because of Porter and Deon's warning but the way that William just used people who he cared about, the anger and doubt of Sam and Vincent. He put them all at risk and that isn't free.

One thing I will have to say tho is: I don't think William is a bad guy, and I don't think that's the direction Erik is taking it either.

I've been one of the first people to raise the flag when I saw how Porter aka William's right hand man, treated not only the prince of his own house but the way he dismissed Asher and didn't offer an ounce of trust, sure he acted on William's order but the way he didn't was his own way. I've been mad with how this was treated by the ones that knew like a mere joke while the ones that actually were in the inversion were left to doubt and pick up pieces. It was a stupid move with a stupid decision and a big consequence.

But there's a lot of a stretch from bad decisions and consequences to make him a bad guy.

Porter isn't my favorite character at all but he is right on the fact that William is trying to do right by what happened and trying to buy time from close knit. There's a real threat here and for the 500 year old who has witnessed a lot he wasn't willing to just sit and wait for another catastrophe to happen. We don't know how much time we have before they move again and they were needing the Bennet's money, cutting off a head might not be of much to stop the hydra but it's a slow down to have some time to plan. Of course he's doubting, after all he acted sloppy and caused more trouble down the path, he acted and didn't stop to think the alternative of all this. He is loyal to William but even he has started to doubt after seeing how much this affects Vincent even when he called him a spoiled brat, Vincent trusted him completely and he was doubting everything and that made him doubt as well.

I feel like Erik is trying to show that William made the best out of the situation and that has consequences, whether the reason for him to shove everyone else at the bottom without warning be it must be huge and important.

David is right to distrust him and am eager to see how this plays out.

Hi, I know this is long but I wanted to talk about this, cause I don't think I can on my personal account. Reading everything about the POTO author is very disappointing to me. I read the first book and looked forward to the sequel. I did have some qualms about the two characters of color and I was concerned in how one of them perpetuates the "Woc is only there as support for their white friend" trope, but I was hoping this would get improved with the sequel. As I've been going through the sequel though, more of my concerns are being validated. There's frequent use of slurs regarding mixed-race people and said character is still only used as character development for Christine. Also, despite the author claiming they created Christine to be relatable to all people, its very hard to imagine her as anything but white/white passing when confirmed characters of color in the series are constantly degraded and dismissed for being Brown and Black. Now reading all the history regarding the author, I'm not surprised the characters of color are being treated this way. As a Black phan that loves Phantom immensely, it's sometimes hard being in this space and even being an e/c shipper when a lot of the aesthetics in this franchise are focused on whiteness and associating it with purity and good. While this series alone has its issue, I do think its important to note that a lot of Phantom work has issues regarding race whether its stereotyping (Kay) or erasure (ALW) so its a little unfair to single out this one creator. However, maybe this could be a good opportunity in analyzing the racial issues regarding this franchise as a whole! I'm genuinely thinking of writing my own version of POTO with e/c being poc because it's a perspective not explored yet

I don't necessarily feel it's unfair but she's also not being singled out for her racism in a phantom work but rather the fact that she's not only racist but a serious bully and is continuing both of these behaviors using her work and her platform. Race is definitely a phandom issue, but it's not the only issue with this particular author. Not to take away from anything you said though- you're absolutely valid in your assessment of the phandom.

The fascination with Kay has always bothered me- I could never get into it because of the problematic elements, but it's still something you have to be aware of when navigating the phandom because it's so popular. I actually think it's quite funny because this author dislikes Susan Kay but they're extremely similar- Older women clearly horny for the phantom and clearly writing with ALW in mind claiming to be adding on to Leroux but just making a mediocre book that doesn't fit in his canon at all with some added racism for good measure.

And yeah, her Christine sounds lifted out of ALW, and honestly, so does the phantom, since she still gave him a white mask. She also seemed to argue that Christine should be a brunette in the show because it looks better on women of color over blonde and that didn't sit right with me. Women of color with dark hair keep the "Christine look" according to her.

I'm disappointed but not surprised that the second book has the same issues. It's such an unnecessary thing to add to a phantom story. Meanwhile she had a video a while back essentially bragging about adding pocs and queer characters to her story like she's making strides for representation.

I do hope you write your poc phantom. Our phandom does need more representation, but it needs to come from the right place. You might also enjoy Music of the Night by Angela Ford. I haven't read it(yet), but I was told that Christine is black and the cover art supports this. But I don't think I've seen one where Erik and Christine both are poc.

Febuwhump 2023

Well look who finally got their shit together and has time to write some Charles whump again! I might not be able to write something for every day this time, but we'll see. You might be thinking: "Pulla, why are you writing for an event that was five months ago?" And the answer to that is, because I had too much going on in february to write, but the prompts were too delicious to ignore. So that's why I'm still here in July X'D

But without further ado, hopefully you enjoy anoyher bunch of Charles whump ^w^

Day 1. Touchstarved

Charles had spent only few weeks in Genosha when it happened. He had been living with Erik, in a house that clearly had been build to suit someone with a wheelchair. (And hadn't that already been a reason for Charles to fight back a sudden surge of tears).

It was late in the evening and they were sitting in the living room, both reading on their own, but enjoying each other's presence nevertheless. Charles hadn't taken much with him when he had left the Westchester, but Erik had happily let him borrow from his own small collection of books. He had a lot of murder mystery novels and Charles was steadily reading through them, letting his mind escape to the world of fiction for a moment. Even if that fiction was quite grim.

"I think I'll head to bed." Erik informed, the end of the sentence muffled by a big yawn that made a corner of Charles' mouth lift up.

"Alright then. I think I'll sit here for a little longer." Charles said, watching as Erik put down his book and reading glasses, before looking back down at his own book. "Good night, Erik."

He could hear Erik moving and soon saw him walk past him from the corner of his eye. What he didn't see was Erik's hand that came to rest on the back of his neck, causing him to freeze entirely. Erik's hand was warm, almost hot, and suddenly every other part of Charles' body seemed cold. He was hyper aware of the way Erik's thumb rubbed his neck, sending goosebumps down his spine.

The feeling of it was so intense that he almost didn't register Erik's words.

"Good night, my friend." And like that, the hand was gone and so was Erik, his footsteps retreating from the room, but the imprint of his hand stayed right there, making Charles' skin tingle.

His heart was racing, but slowly Charles managed to free himself from the frozen state he had been in.

'What is wrong with me?' he thought to himslef. How could a touch, that couldn't have lasted more than few seconds, rattle him to his core like this? Slowly, he raised his hand and carefully touched the skin where Erik's hand had been, wanting to recreate the feeling, but scared that the lingering of it might disappear if he tried. He couldn't remember the last time someone's touch had made him feel like this.

To be honest, he had a hard time remembering the last time some one had touched him with any kind of affection. Maybe a quick hug from Jean on his birthday? Otherwise, he truly couldn't remember. After Cuba, and Raven leaving with Erik, any kind of physical affection had been a rarity. He had buried himself with work, then with alcohol and drugs and after that, with work again. He hadn't had time to forge any close relationships and if he was honest with himself, he had been scared to do so. No matter how much time passed, old wounds just didn't seem to heal, and he didn't want to add new ones.

The book Charles had been reading laid forgotten on his lap, as he continued to stroke his neck. The traces of Erik's touch were still there, but the feeling was nothing compared to how it had felt like when Erik had actually touched him.

God, he wanted Erik to touch him like that again.

Charles took in a shaky breath, only then realising that his cheeks were wet and how his heart was aching.

'Get yourself together' he forced himself to take a steady breath, willing the tears away. He wasn't as successful as he wanted to be.

'Would it be so bad? To ask for more? Surely Erik wouldn't push him away?' a small part of him whispered to him.

Well, unfortunately Charles had never learned how to ask something like that...

LADY ILLIANA AEGOS (she/her) -> KEEVAN GUERRA (he/him) -> status: many many noble women have fancied sir guerra and illiana is no different. the somewhat “catch” is she feels she has a chance and does her best to flirt with him and make her intentions known whenever the two of them are in a room together. keevan is polite, as she is the step daughter of the current ruler (the grand duke) however he doesn’t feel anything towards her romantically.

DEUX UNDERSHIELD (she/her; one of the mcs) / FORTE SYMPHONIA (he/him one of the mcs) -> status: when they initially meet there’s something like immediate attraction, especially on deux’s end. she’s never met someone so brave and kind and handsome 👀 similarly, forte comes to like deux pretty quickly. her innocence and sweetness as well as her desire to better herself and fight for what’s right are immediately attractive to him. however, he hasn’t made a move as he’s more of an observer first action second (very fitting with being a ranger lol). deux however is too shy.

CLEAR BRIGHTENDALE (he/him; one of the mcs) / FORTE SYMPHONIA -> status: first of all, bi king forte. secondly, forte was actually the first one attracted here; he and clear’s first conversation is the first where he doesn’t feel the pressure of having a certain demeanor. he gets comfortable around him very quickly. clear is also pretty immediately attracted to forte however bc of internalized homophobia + noticing deux likes forte as well makes him back off quickly. but he pines—oh he pines.

MOIRA DEARBORN (she/her) & JAGODA ARTHEA (trans!! he/him) -> status: the two of them are childhood friends and have been together for near a decade lol. their battle chemistry is just as synced as their emotional and physical chemistry. jagoda would do anything for moira and moira cares about him more than anyone else in the world lol.

LORD KIBA LATHSBURY (he/him) / ERYN ARCUS (they/she/he) -> status: eryn and kiba are childhood friends (apart of the same group as moira/jagoda/karenza) and kiba’s had a crush on eryn for years, he’s pretty blatant about it too lol. eryn just loves teasing him but it’s clear that they like him back.

DION UNDERSHIELD (he/him) & FIAMETTA LANTHI (she/her) -> status: strike through bc we’ve reached the first tragedy; fiametta is dead (and it ain’t a spoiler cuz she has been from story start). fia and dion were very close, and her death caused him to spiral deeper into his old grudges and depression. she brightened up his world and it’s much darker to him without her.

ERIK SOORI (he/him) -> DION UNDERSHIELD (he/him) -> status: erik can’t help but hurt himself, for better or worse. he’s loved dion for longer than he cares to remember and he just wishes he could just get over it… yet there’s some comfort in it being the only stable thing he’s had in his life; it’s always there, for better or worse. they’ve been together through A LOT, but dion doesn’t even acknowledge how close they are. it seems like a hopeless love.

MIKI KAGANOFF (she/her) & JACE KAGANOFF (he/him) -> status: jace and miki are actually married, however their relationship currently is very strained. she cheated on him and had a child with his best friend back in their homeland of kiskkaddon and has since followed him to lathsbury to try and make things up. jace wants to work things out but it’s difficult for him.

CAMERON BLISS (she/her) -> JIHI ARTHEA (he/him) -> status: cameron has had a crush on jihi for years; he was an upperclassman of hers when she and friends attended pinella’s pass survivalist school and she chose to come to the aegean guild of explorers partially so she could reconnect with him. however, he seems to have all his sights set on guild leader madja fandel. but something seems… wrong about it. cameron tries to hide her affections and grapple with this odd turn of events. jihi seems hardly aware of how she feels.

JIHI ARTHEA (he/him) ?? MADJA FANDEL (she/her) -> status: there’s something wrong with their relationship or whatever is going on. something more sinister than hero worship is at work here. almost as if he’s under a spell to only think of pleasing her.

DARAN “PAPA” ISAI (he/him) -> KALIFIA FANDEL (she/her) -> status: this isn’t much more than a passing flirtation. papa sees kalifia often at his bar and he thinks she’s beautiful. she has yet to open up to him more than just grunts or side glances; but hey, he does have her favorite beer memorized. he’s not actively trying though—she’s just a sight for sore eyes to him.

CHARISSA GOODWYN (she/her) & ALTAIR NOCTURNE (he/him) -> The Horrors aside; the two of them have been at each others throats her thick as thieves since the moment they first met. they usually say don’t fight fire with fire, yet somehow these two make it work. they’ve never officially established what their relationship is, but there’s definitely one there even if they won’t verbally define it.

HELIX CARMINE (he/they) / ELODIA PESANTE (she/her) -> status: another tragedy. helix and elodia were very very sweet on each other, until a tragedy left her for dead in the labyrinth. she did it to protect their team, but with how things go after and helix experiences the horrors… losing her is too much to bear.

GRAND DUKE ARAN LATHSBURY (he/him) & GENERAL DUCHESS MUINENA LATHSBURY (she/her) -> status: muinena died in childbirth to she and aran’s second child, though the circumstances of it are suspicious. she was as strong as an ox, and wasn’t prone to sickness and had a health pregnancy throughout so it was odd for her to suddenly go under. that and their daughter being stolen after that as well made the whole thing even worse. aran hasn’t truly been the same after losing both her and his elder brother, the former king, in the same 2 year timespan.

GRAND DUKE ARAN LATHSBURY (he/him) & DUCHESS PRIMROSE AEGOS (she/her) -> status: pressure from the ruling body of the kingdom forced aran’s hand into finding a second wife but the two of them are hardly compatible nor do they hardly speak at all. there’s no love there between them but both of them are bound by outside forces, aran by duty and primrose for convenience and to support herself and her daughter.

TENOR SYMPHONIA (he/him) & SOPRANO SYMPHONIA (she/her) -> status: oh these songbirds have been married and in love for many many years, having two beautiful children from the union: forte and melody. tenor was previously a very famous traveling bard and they first met at a showing of his and the rest was history.

ding dong hello @prince-simon tagged me to share a lil peek at my wip so uhhhhh here we goooo 🫣👀⛸

“Alright, you two, listen up!” Erik clapped his hands together. “This totally adorable fighting thing you guys got going on? That stays on dry land. The moment you step on the ice, I want you acting like the sun shines out of the other’s dick, got it? I understand you’re both used to only thinking about yourselves, only skating with yourselves, but now you’re a team. You’re partners. You as a singular person don’t matter any more. You move as one, you breathe as one.”

Wilhelm eyed Simon out of the corner of his eye. Turns out Simon was doing the same thing. How was he supposed to skate with this person? How were they even going to get away with this? Even if it wasn’t technically against the rules, there’s no way the figure skating world as whole would let them compete together without a fight.

“You know, in order to skate with each other we’re gonna have to actually touch each other eventually,” said Simon. He held his hand out. Wilhelm tentatively took it in his own. Hm. Simon’s hand felt very small and delicate in his own. So delicate he could crush every single bone and cause Simon extreme pain with the slightest squeeze. It was awfully tempting.

“Don’t get too comfortable with this,” Wilhelm hissed. “Don’t start fantasizing about my hand when you lie awake in bed at night.”

“The whole point of this is to get comfortable, dumbass,” Simon shot back, “but I can assure you I will definitely not be doing that. You wish.”

“Are you two done flirting over there, or should i just go?” Erik called out. He made a gesture at them that said what are you waiting for?

Simon squeezed Wilhelm’s fingers and took off, violently yanking Wilhelm along with him. He was sure he got whiplash from it.

The whole point of ice dance is to be in complete sync with each other. It became very apparent very quickly they were going to have a lot of work to do. They pulled each other, they pushed each other. Tripped, stumbled, tangled feet together, and fell once or twice. After twelve minutes of why did you do that? Why did you do that?, Erik decided to try a new tactic.
