Oops, it has now gone midnight. But I haven't actually gone to bed yet (although I have been in bed for a few hours because I was in a fair bit of pain from walking today), and it isn't past midnight in every timezone yet, so.. technically it's still alright, right?~

As a distrustful ocxcanon consumer, in any fandom, if a character has a canon relationship or is very related to character X, I try to stay away from making Selfship with them.

Even though I see that Levi doesn't have a love interest in canon, so I do Selfship with him and consume content about them, including your articles, some shipper say that even though Levi ships are not canon, there is actually a subtext in their relationship, and they claim that Isayama doesn't show it openly because he is afraid of the fans. Or they say that even if that ship is not canon, Levi cares about character X more than anyone else, and that he would have so much compassionate feelings for him that he would drive humanity to hell.

Even though I thought they were just exaggerating and I ignored them, this last statement impresses me because in canon, Levi's actions and the fact that half of the character arc is about character X, and also the side materials, Va's, Isayama interviews, whenever Levi is mentioned, I feel like half of it is always about X, and I feel like they're always trying to insert X somehow. Yes, Levi doesn't have a canon romantic relationship, but I have a hard time imagining him as an independent, equal man based on these things, and I have a hard time building scenarios about him. Sorry for writing so much nonsense. One thing I want to say is that I envy your guys for not worrying about it and having fun with your own content. I wish I could be like your guys and not worry about it so much and have my own fun.

Anon your feelings are valid and I completely understand that it can get frustrating. It bothered me when I first got into the fandom and I don't shy away from that fact. 🤷🏼‍♀️

However, Isayama has never been the one to shy away from making his actual couples canon, never. 'Subtext' being something shippers use doesn't surprise me at all, since most of the times it's nothing. Using subtext for a ship is dumb, I said this before, If we go by subtext, hell even Eren and Levi can be read to have something romantic in that sense which,of course, they don't haha.

As for the interviews, Isayama's editor himself told the fans not to take interviews as strictly canon and any actual interview I have heard from Isayama, he never talked about Levi with anybody in a romantic way. As for the side materials, there's again, nothing romantic about it. Hell, there are side materials for every single Levi "ship", shippers often just choose and pick what they want from these materials, anon. And Va's interviews are interesting because Levi's VA apparently stated at one point that he thinks Erwin and Levi aren't even friends, just comrades. Most interviews on here are badly translated or shippers just pick and choose what they want to hear and twist words.

I'll assume that when you say "X" you're talking about Erwin and I can't deny that Erwin was a very important person to Levi and his death was one of the main plots of the story, however, this isn't by any means because Levi was in love with Erwin or had some sort of secret romantic relationship going on with him or because Erwin was Levi's "most important" person. Levi saw Erwin as a guiding light for his strength, he believed that Erwin can show him how to help people, save humanity. They both had so much respect for each other. He was his friend and comrade, that's a strong relationship but not at all a romantic one. Levi's character arc was never about Erwin, if you think that way, maybe you should pay more attention to the canon manga and the anime instead of listening to what people on the internet say anon, Levi is his own character, it was never about Erwin only.

Levi is his own character, he cares about all of his friends and comrades equally. So anon, you should have fun, let yourself enjoy Levi's character because he doesn't have a love interest because the simple truth is, if Isayama wanted Levi to have something romantic with Erwin, Hange, Petra, whoever. He would've done that but he didn't because again, Levi doesn't have a lover and doesn't need one.

Genuine question but how would y'all feel if I started posting/allowing submissions for non-vent related content? I know I made the whole point of this blog to be giving people a safe space to vent, and it still is and would continue to be! There's just a lot about the selfship community that I want to uplift and give acknowledgement to that I don't see many others doing often

Maybe that would mean I'd have to rebrand the blog(?) since then it wouldn't be about strictly venting and such. I don't know, for now it's just an idea, but I already have a lot of sideblogs and I don't want to have to make another. I'm just generally on the fence, y'know? But as much as I wanna give people a safe space to go, I wanna uplift people too. So I thought about posting some positivity every once in a while or allowing people to send in positive submissions.

Again, I don't really know, hence why I'm asking, but it's something I've been debating doing for a little while. I'll rebrand the blog if I have to, but either way it will remain a blog that is meant to be a venting space! I'll still allow vent submissions and people to vent as much as they want! I've just thought about introducing some positivity here as well

Yes, I am back with this event again!!! Last year's Happy Birthday Levi was such a success, and I knew I had to do it again this year!

Similar to last year's format, one Levi-related post will be made per day starting from 25 November, and ending on his birthday on 25 December, like an advent calendar!

The theme for this event would be ‘Sweet like Sugar’. Unlike last year, this year's event will be strictly sfw only! Fics, artwork, headcanons, drabbles, moodboards, anything featuring Levi is welcomed! You can also do reader inserts, self-inserts/self-ship, anything! You can do more than one work too!

Don is a cat toon that always knew he was different from others in Toontown. He is dull, sympathetic towards cogs, unfunny, boring, and transgender!!!! He ended up cutting contact with his family (his mother and father have been victims of cog violence and his brother is a resistance ranger and they aren’t fond of them transgenders so they did NOT want him) to go work for the sellbot division. He also had to be in some part robotic, so he got a robotic tail that functions like a cat’s tail. He’s a very hard worker who was hired for his ability to market towards toons effectively, the potential for gathering inside information about Toontown, and for his graphic design abilities. He has a hard time with stress and handling emotions and is a smoker as a result. In the sellbot division is where he finds his boyfriend and his son????? Part time son???? LONG, sorry . beware! but i've been trying to examine myself a little more closely lately and i just got carried away ig

i sort of always feel like i'm alone in this, i guess i was wondering if anyone else feels the same way in any capacity?

so i've always been a really naturally creative person; when i was younger i was the kid that was always doodling all over their assignments; i would win art and writing contests, stuff like that. it's a lot of artists and imaginative ppl on here specially in the selfship community, so i'm sure y'all will understand this, but being "creative" was kind of literally my entire identity growing up. i preferred fiction to reality and never understood how to get along with the other kids, so it became my escape , whether i was creating or consuming media. it was , in entirety, who i was.

except when i got a little older, i went through a traumatic event. i won't get into specifics, but i was diagnosed with ptsd among other things. and i pretty much blocked it all out! only recently, years later, have i started to realize the effects the trauma actually had on me.

i noticed that my creativity is basically GONE. i'm unable to come up with plotlines in my head; only when i'm very strictly guided by a pre-determined objective or assignment requirement. when i was younger i could write elaborate fantasy storylines with dragons n shit, fully fleshed out character archetypes and interactions, but now it's like my mind is a total fucking blank. NOTHING comes up. especially dialogue; i'm just not capable of imagining it. art is the same way.

it's honestly insane. i don't even remember what it was like to have natural imagination. i miss it more than anything and i feel like i've lost something intensely important. not to mention how ingrained it was in my identity. it's all i was, yet it all stopped after i experienced trauma.

i feel so alone, and it really ties into my relationship with self-shipping. as much comfort as self-shipping brings me, i feel so very invalidated by the fact that i'm not able to create or write content for my ship. i try, but i just can't do it in the end. i see others that make these beautiful drawings or these deep meaningful fanfics and i feel so guilty. like i'm less dedicated, and it makes my relationship/my account less valid, not only to myself but to everyone else. my f/o deserves more than that, but i can't give it to them. in real life, they'd probably be with someone else who could instead. yk that sort of thing :'( it's a whole rabbit hole of thinking that i'll just cut off now but yeah u get the point. super guilty.

i could go on with this for hours but it's already super long. but yeah. the original intention of this blog was for me to try writing again but in a way that was comfortable and safe for me, by combining it w my biggest coping mechanism LOL. i've made some baby steps in my drafts but we'll see how it goes ig. just wanted to get this off my chest and see if maybe anyone else has had a similar experience, idk it just makes me feel so guilty and like i'm a fraud of myself in general :'3

( apologies for taking so long to get around to this , something happened yesterday the first time i was trying to write a response and it made me have to take a break before coming back around to it >< )

ahh yes .. this ones a bit of a doozy t get into if im bein honest lol , but despite that he who is unlucky would be lying if he said he doesnt enjoy talking about it nonetheless ..

i wanna start off by saying that i dont even really consider them 'fictional others' , nor do i consider my relationships with them 'self shipping' .. rather , i mostly just use those terms because im too lazy to make up my own* , and because i find it more convenient to just use commonly used terms so that others understand ..!

i take my relationships very seriously , including those that are not currently in this time or life .. i still consider myself to be with them despite not having them around me currently .. ♪ i consider all of my relationships very real , i do not consider them fictional , or the people i have said relationships with ..

almost all of my relationships are because of source / memory things .. although many are simply because i fell in love with them in this world and life ..! despite not having 'known' them or been with them as long as my memory related relationships , and not having already spent a life with them in the past , they are still equally as important to me and i will continue to pursue them within the life i have now ..!!

the relationships themselves can vary as well .. some i am married to , others im not , some have 'odd' felings attached that arent strictly or necessarily romantic .. ♪ and many i have multiple types of attractions towards , which can be fluid and often fluctuate between .. because of those , i would say i have rather 'complicated' relationships with many , or at least most other people would probably think of it that way ..!

A notice about this blog

I know I flow in and out of activity, but I really do want to try and be more consistent in the future! As a result of this, I'm gonna make a few changes to assist me.

The primary change is that I'm going to start focusing this blog specifically on my ship with Lucina, as she is my #1. I won't be deleting old posts or tags for my other F/Os and you're all still free to ask about them whenever, but I'm going to start leaning more into my ship with Lucina in general.

Second, I'm going to try to update my Summoner S/I! Their name and everything will all be the same, the update is strictly cosmetic. This is partially to match with myself :)

s/i runs errands for others all around London, and eventually has to play courier for Scotland Yard, getting roped into one of their cases. Knowing his way around most nooks and crannies of the city proves itself useful and he manages to help Lestrade and his team a great deal to solve the big riddle. He ends up with an actual employment as courier for Lestrade and offers occasional advice when Holmes is not available, or the great detective just decided that their matters are below him.

🍇 - How did you get introduced to your f/o?

(sorry if I'm answering this wrong but I'm just gonna assume that this is how I got introduced to my f/o as a character) A couple years ago I started listening to audio dramas while doing my little arts and crafts and I specifically started with a Sherlock Holmes based series :) And Lestrade just seemed so charmingly dull, additionally in later episodes, and later on in other series that play in the same universe, Lestrade was voiced by a voice actor I really like and his character got worked out further into being just... really charming and occasionally relatable.

🌷 - How different is your f/o in your head compared to canon?

I think I'm sticking quite close to canon with him? The audio series I'm specifically sourcing him from (Inspector Lestrade - Ein Fall für Scotland Yard) is intended to be completely canon compliant with Doyle's original works, and except for his affections to my s/i I didn't change much about him. Maybe that I interpret his marriage to be completely platonic, but even that is not going strictly against the audio dramas established canon.

yippeee yay i love demon slayer!! it’s my main special interest, and it means a lot to me! rengoku is my favorite character and all-time comfort character, (i have a tattoo to honor him!) but i love every character, really!! my other favorites are inosuke, shinobu, akaza, tengen, genya, senjuro and mitsuri :))

my pronouns are strictly he/him! please do not use any other pronouns for me- this includes they/them! (i have nothing against they/them pronouns, they just don’t suit me <3) i am a gay trans man, and a lot of my writing for Hikaru reflects my experiences as such! :)

additionally, i am very neurodivergent and often struggle with tone and responding quickly to dms! please be patient with me- i am trying my best! tone tags are very helpful for me <3

I don't know why I want to type all this out but: since I said I have trans headcanons for almost all my f/os I thought I'd go ahead and be specific with some of them.

I'll start with the easy ones.

Octane[Apex]: Masc-Agender. He/it but is generally okay with anything but she/her/ella. He binds but is overall comfortable with his chest. Just does it to be more pallettable to his fans (and makes it harder for him to breathe. Makes the rush hit harder) [don't exercise in your binder/tape you fucks ily<3]

Bloodhound[Apex]: Cannonly nonbinary. They/Them exclusively. I feel like they [when casual] would lean feminine but be overall androgynous. (I have no givengender headcanons but I don't really care. I've drawn them both ways)

Now,,,, I'm definitely projecting with these ones but hey. You're on a selfship blog. What did you expect?

Tim[MarbleHornet]: Trans Man. Strictly He/him or [on occasion]They/Them. He started his transition right out of high school, getting top surgery a few months into Marble Hornets' original filming. He is stealth for the most part, but the mh crew knew [he explained everything due to him having to be out of commission after surgery. He doesn't plan to get bottom surgery simply cause he can't stand going to the hospital and the idea of needing to go more than he already has to makes him physically ill. Cost wise as well.

Higgs[Deathstranding]: Trans Man. Strictly He/him. Has both surgeries but found himself later in life. His transition only coming a few years before meeting Fragile. He is completely stealth except for Fragile knowing.

König[CoD]: Trans-Masc. He/They/It. He has only had breast reduction and is fine with some of his chest still being there. No plan for bottom surgery. He was on T for a while but got the reduction when he entered KorTac.

So, the anniversary and generally feeling slightly less burnt out in the game now has meant I’ve been playing a bit more of Genshin Impact (I know it’s flawed, I know that, but the game itself has its fun moments)

I can’t help but think it’s funny that the boss I by far find the easiest to fight (to the point that it’s actually enjoyable to face, unlike every other boss!) is the Electro Hypostasis, given that I don’t have a single non-Traveller Electro character that I actually intend to use - I only have one Electro character at all, and that’s Lisa, and I don’t enjoy playing as her or many other catalysts. So, the rewards from the boss are almost completely useless to me =P
