Noragami Drabble

So I wrote something random that is Kazubishaish while waiting for my pizza to cook. Anyways here you go, it’s...meh. *tosses*

Crime Drama AU sort of?

Lights flickered wildly across the hood of the taupe sedan. Sweat slid against the steering wheel as the shaken driver nervously waited for the officer to approach his vehicle. He kept his eyes down, memorizing the worn pattern engraved on his break pedal in which his shoe gently tapped in rhythmic succession.

When he heard the small tapping on his window, he didn't even glance up as he rolled down the window. But before the officer could get in a word he spoke up.

"Yes, I realize the speed limit and yes I realize I was proceeding it but you have to understand I have very important business and I cannot be late." He said in flurry of words, wishing he hadn't taken so long this morning making sure his suit was perfect. Now it didn't seem to be worth it that he looked like the immaculate business man, he wished to present himself as.

"Sir, in this county we don't really consider two miles over the speed limit to be speeding." Came an amused voice.

He froze before his gaze snapped up in surprise, not from the information given but for the fact that the officer sounded familiar. His eyes widened and his jaw remained ajar as he gaped at the woman outside of his car. Blonde hair wrapped in a tight bun, not a golden strand hiding the absolute beauty of the goddess before him. Her eyes lit up in amusement at his expression; a charming laugh followed, cascading from her alluring lips that formed a smile. "Funny how we keep running into each other, Kazuma."

"V-Vina–" He said before ducking his head in embarrassment.

"Ah, ah, ah," she tsked. "That's Detective Bishamon to you."

"Detective." He said curtly, now regaining his composure. "May I ask why you pulled me over?"

"I thought that was you that I saw last night." She mused ignoring his question. "You ran off pretty quickly, I didn't get a chance to greet you."

Kazuma's mind flashed back to last night that seemed to run like a blur. "Uh, yes, I...well, I—last night uh, was...a night, but I uh."

He flinched when she clapped a heavy hand on his shoulder, nearly making him jump out of his skin. He's seen her in action, he knew she could kill if she wanted to, her beauty just made that more intimidating. And if she were to find out that he had ran off with the drug-dealer, Yato, last night with not a clue on what occurred afterwards. Well, he might as well submit his will and give all his possessions to his cat now.

"Sorry, to stop you, Kazuma. I know today is your first official day back in our office but I had to inform you that we have a case already geared up for you." She said leaning down to peer at his pale expression. "Are you sure you are feeling alright? You're not queasy are you? As an ME I thought you'd be used to it but I suppose actually being among all the hustle and bustle of a crime scene is a different story."

"I'm fine!" Kazuma cut in a little too loudly, flinching inwardly before settling his gaze at the cop car. "Where's your car?"

"I'm driving with Officer Kuraha today." She said. "We can escort you to the scene. I'm glad we caught you when we did. Though the roads seem pretty empty this time of day."

"Alright," Kazuma took a deep breath. "Whenever you're ready. I'll follow."

She smiled calling over her shoulder as she walked back to the patrol car. "I can hardly wait to see what all the med school equipped you with."

Kazuma swallowed, his grip tightening on the stirring wheel as he thought of his first crime scene and the fact that he will be working so close to Viina after all this time. And here, he had been hoping to hide away in the morgue with only the dead to witness his rigid existence. Now he was meeting with the woman who he hadn't been able to get out of his head since the year they first met. Even before she joined the academy. Right here in this small town.

He shook his head. This wasn't the time, he had the dead to intend to. If he couldn't do himself any justice then he might as well make it up by helping the police. Maybe one day he could finally summon the courage to tell her all that happened that night at the academy. Not today, not tomorrow but eventually he had to tell her everything. And dread pooled in his stomach for how much hell he still had to pay for it all.

Lol, don't know what I've done here, but I'm sorta proud of myself (?)
