this beast is 6’1 

which means you wearing platforms puts you at a raging 6’6 

you’re crazy 

always having been the tallest, he’s inspired by your conviction to be taller than him 

“what’s wrong Noe?” is what you asked when you first appeared to him wearing platforms that made you SOMEHOW taller than him. 

“n-nothing.” 

“awww it’s okay shortie.” 

he found himself not really liking it at first

but soon he didn’t mind it 

he grew to love the hugs he could get from you at this height

with both of you being so tall, the two of you held such an intimidating power

especially over vanitas, who was normally intimidated by the height of his vampire friend

he often relies on you to make sure that his hat is on straight 

you were already traveling with vanitas when he first met you

and the first thing he noticed was how tall you were

he’s quite dense sometimes and didn’t realize you were wearing platforms

“wow! are you a vampire too!?” 

“what-“

vanitas also made fun of him for not realizing it was shoes

BUT now he knows. 

it’s funny how much height a person can get from wearing shoes as his boots offer him a little height too 

the first time he saw you without your boots on, without the added height he thought a curse bearer got to you and shrunk you. 

“ARE YOU OKAY?!” “YOURE SO SMALL?” 

he’s trying his best 

one time when your boots broke you couldn’t wear them for like a week 

he found himself missing the tall hugs and head pats he’d receive from you 

but he also liked being taller than you for once (but was just as ecstatic when you got your boots back)

Since you were not a vampire, OR a chasseur, he was frequently worried that you would get yourself hurt. He offered many times to protect you, or fight for you but you assured him you had an ‘ace up your sleeve’ if you ever found yourself needing protection. 

And this was the first time you’ve needed it. 

a fight with the curse bearer broke out. Noe pleaded for you to stay out and let him and Vanitas settle this, so you wouldn’t get hurt. 

“Fine fine..” you reluctantly said, sighing as you watched the two run off.

The fight slowly made its way back towards where you were waiting. Was this curse bearer really that strong? Vanitas hadn’t healed it yet? 

you backed up slightly, now seeing the brunt of its full power as it slung Vanitas and Noe into a wall.

It’s red shining eyes locked onto you. The two had yet to come to their senses after being sent flying, and the curse bearer was getting closer and closer to you. 

Noe’s violet eyes slowly opened, going wide to seeing the scene in front of him. 

“(Y/N)!” he screamed, pushing himself off the rubble and starting to run to you. 

You shook with fear but quickly dug your hand into your boot, pulling out the knife and swinging it at the cursed vampire. 

It wasn’t enough to kill it of course, but it sustained some damage. 

For a split second Noe stood still. You had a way of protecting yourself this whole time. And you were familiar with it too. 

He flashed back to reality and began running to your aid again. 

Not too long after Vanitas woke back up, they finished the cursebearer, healing her and sending her on her way. 

“You had that on you this whole time!?” Noe looked up at you, shocked but relieved.

“i told you i had an ace up my sleeve!” 

~VANITAS~

even though he looks short compared to the white haired vampire, he’s actually pretty tall 

he’s 5’9 

he knew you were actually shorter than him when you weren’t wearing the boots

with the boots on you were 6’3

which pissed him off cause you always teased him 

“what’s happening shortie?” 

“shut up.” 

he’d be a liar if he said he didn’t mind the teasing 

don’t expect him not to tease you back though 

it’s vanitas. obviously he’s going to tease you regardless

vanitas gets very embarrassed when hugging his s/o or showing any affection (specifically in public)

in private he doesn’t mind getting a little affectionate. 

don’t let him know you know, but he prefers you wear the shoes when you hug him. 

he just loves that there’s one person he trusts enough to have their arms completely wrapped around him 

another thing he secretly loves is sitting on your shoulders or on your back 

he likes being able to use you as a human shield. 

DONT WORRY not literally 

he likes to pretend you’re his personal knight 

this is all because he’s having fun messing with you since you’re “so much taller than him” 

to be honest he prefers being taller than you than being shorter, but he doesn’t complain about it

just hug him. like everyone else, he enjoys being hugged by someone taller (though he hates to admit it)

It was early in the morning and you had just woken up. Vanitas had told you the night before that you, him, Noe, and Jeanne had to do a recon mission, so tjay when you woke up you needed to hurry to meet them at the designated spot. 

You yawned, stretching your arms as you climbed out of bed. You took a quick shower and changed. Your favorite part of the morning was adding the 8 additional inches to your height. 8 seemed pretty spiteful, but it was worth it to be taller than Vanitas.

You shoved your foot into the boot and laced them up. You smoothed out your hair and headed for the door. 

Upon meeting at the rendezvous point, you noticed thay everyone was already waiting for you. Great. 

“you took forever!” Vanitas complained, scowling at you. 

“Sorry sorry!” you laughed, pushing him gently. 

“let’s get started.” Noe announced.

By the end of the mission, everyone was dirty and bruised. 

“Can i borrow your dagger for a moment?” Jeanne asked you. 

Vanitas perked up at that inquiry. You had a weapon on you? 

“yeah sure, here.” You slipped your hand into your shoe, pulling out a long weapon wit hc a dazzling hilt. 

You and Jeanne had planned on messing with Noe and Vanitas, so this was completely planned. 

“Thanks!” she grinned. she held it to her right eye at an angle, pulled out a little black liner and re did her eyeliner. 

Vanitas blinked and his jaw went slack. “what…” 

“hmm? what’s wrong?” you asked him in a teasing manner, taking back the weapon and sliding it back into your boot. 

“it’s not always just for fashion.” you winked, kicking up some rubble with the platforms you were referring to.
