How about u try to change your solo perspective that makes u look at jimin like a victim all the time? Jimin GOT promotions, and a big one, money related. He had 2 mv that took a lot of budget and preparations: the 2 mv needed sets to be created, and SMFPT2 set was HUGE. He promoted at korean music shows, which too took a lot of money to build those giant sets. Yes, he did have a short promotion period, for reasons we dont know but my guess is that Suga needed to do his comeback because of the tour and i hate the person who came up with those dates but ok... We all know Face promotions got some biiiig problems and im still mad about it, we just dont know what really happened, but i'm sure jimin would fight back if he thought he was being mistreated. But to say that jm got zero promotions... nah

Face, Like Crazy and Seven r different projects, with different visions and different goals. Jimin wanted to tell his story of when he was going through a hard time, and he wanted to do it in korean, promoting more in Korea, with songs that, in the end, only him and people close to him know the meaning. Yet, he did AMAZING and made history (is still making). It seems to me that the #1 on hot100 was unexpected to the company and even jm, but yet they did provided to us 2 versions of Like Crazy, one of them being an eng. ver, and promoted at Jimmy Fallon... So maybe they still hoped that the song would do well internationally? (pdogg tho... he just KNEW face would be massive and destroy kpop). But Jungkook... i think that, for a long time now, he aims to achieve western recognition, way more than jm, and thats ok. So Seven obviously is a song to the US market, and all of us know that. The song is in english, is very pop, written and produced by an american guy that is responsable to other huge hits. It is made to be stuck in our heads, not to make us think about deep things. It is breaking and will break so many records just like LC, but the difference is that the success is THE GOAL (remember all of that Scooter posts on his ig?). Jimin wanted to tell his truth with Face, Jk wants to be closer to being a big pop star with Seven. So, of course Seven would get a different type of promotion.

And btw, just because the song is doing really good and is aiming to the US market, doesnt mean it is by having deals and paying for playing. Its the Jeon Jungkook, of BTS, we are talking about. Jk seems very happy and jimin seems happy for him. I dont think jimin would support jk if he thought he was doing wrong. He didnt post anything, but he did not post about L&R and Dreamers too. He supported jk with Dreamers by posting about his presentation at Qatar, and now he supported seven by going all the way to NYC to be with him.

All of this to say: Jimin is not a victim, he is a badass and he knows how to stand up for himself. When will you come out as a solo, btw? its getting old...

But also you should listen to Paranoia by Nathan Wagner. Its a really long song(like seven minutes), but you’ve gotta listen to it all the way through cause even though it sounds like it ends at one point it doesn’t.

The point is, that song is SO Alex coded, it was the first song I thought of when I read the Promise fic you wrote from his pov. Its so angsty and deliciously sad and there’s just so many good lyrics in it- I highly recommend giving it a listen. 👀

god this got long, but also, the song's 7 minutes 40 long, so yeah what was I expecting

Okay but like, "Instincts, waging war inside, They hold me up so tight, Fear, freezes me to ice, I'm locked up in my mind" is SO Alex struggling with the whole Operator thing. Like, he's terrified of the thing, that much is pretty obvious from his scribbles and stuff like that, and him wanting to stop the operator from being able to spread, so his instincts are telling him to run away and stuff like that, but he knows he can't because if he does the operator will just infect more people. He's terrified and fighting against his own instincts to run the fuck away, but he also knows that realistically there's no way he'd actually be able to escape the operator if it didn't want him to. he's stuck with it until he dies, and he can't die yet or it'll win.

also "Mind, it wavers back and forth, Paranoid, so calm and sure" is so right for Alex, because the only thing he knows for sure is what his fear and paranoia tell him. The only thing he knows for sure is he'll never be able to escape the Operator unless he dies, and that he can't die until he's saved everyone else from it.

"See everything that could go wrong, It clings to me from dusk to dawn, To isolate's the only way" chapter twooooooooo of Sorry, It's Locked. Alex realising just how badly it could go if Jay keeps investigating what's going on, so he purposefully tries to push him away and make him hate him. Because he genuinely does care about Jay and he doesn't want him to meet the same fate that Amy did, so he has to push him away so that he leaves Alex to deal with everything on his own.

"I'm locked up in my mind, Locked up in my mind, Locked up in my- Won't you let me go? Just let me go, I can't take much more," ehehehehehehhehehehe Alex in entry 80 and beyond, after killing Jay >:] cos i still really wanna write a fic about how entry 80 would go in this au (au?). like, Alex would STRUGGLE after killing Jay, he really would. He spent so much energy trying to keep Jay out of all this, only to find that it didn't work and "oh holy shit I've killed Jay, he's bleeding out in my arms, oh my god oh my god I'm so sorry. It was all I could do. I tried to save you, I tried to find another way out for you but you're too fucking stubborn and now you've forced my hand and you're going to die"

and after that he doesn't really care anymore. He goes after Tim because it's the right thing to do, but his heart's not really in it. Losing Amy was a massive blow, but it stoked the fire and made Alex want to fight harder to save Jay in a way that wouldn't require his death. Losing Jay despite all that strips the fire right back out of him again, he tried, and he failed. And then he gets that whole speech from Tim about how he's lived with this all his life, and he managed to get better, he managed to find another way to control it, and that just sets Alex spiralling. Because if tim could live with this and he couldn't, what does that say about him?

How weak he must be

How he just didn't try hard enough

How Jay clearly hadn't needed to die if only Alex had figured out how to live with this like Tim did.

How Alex doesn't deserve to live when he's failed so spectacularly, when there WAS a way to save people without killing them

And then that sends Alex to Tim, begging him for help, begging him to kill him because he's tried to do it himself but he just can't. The Operator won't let him go, it just brings him back, or heals his injuries, or stops him from making them or whatever. And Tim doesn't want to kill him, of course he doesn't, but... would it be kinder to? And if it would be kinder, does he want to afford Alex that kindness? (the answer is yes, yes he does and he doesn't care about the consequences because he can see how badly hurting Alex is).

Alex wouldn't want kindness tho, he'd want to die as painfully as possible because that's what he thinks he deserves, and that's why he goes to Tim. he knows Tim loved Jay, so surely tim will be angry enough at Alex to kill him painfully. And Tim is angry, but he also understands Alex, because he's had the Operator in his head too and he knows what it's like and he knows alex thought he didn't have any other choice. So Alex doesn't get the cruel, torturous death he wants, and that's almost worse.

"Don't know if i'm awake or asleep," Okay, so you know how alex doesn't have a masked counterpart, like tim with masky? I feel like for Alex (and brian honestly) it feels a lot like living in a dream. Not a nice one or anyhting, but that kind of intangible and weird sensation where nothing quite seems real. Alex spends his days feeling like at any moment his hand might phase straight through something when he tries to pick it up, he doesn't quite feel real. and obviously the Operator makes that worse by teleporting him around and making him ill and all that, clouding up his head even more with static and fear. his own thoughts and understanding of what's actually happening are burried by the thoughts that the Operator is just slightly manipulating to get what it wants. They're still Alex's thoughts, but they've been nudged just slightly to the right, and the longer they persist the further they veer from the straight line he'd been walking along before the Operator 'got him'

"please save me from myself," yeah. yeah. pretty self explanatory, yeah. Alex can't save himself, he has to beg tim to do it for him, he can't kill himself to escape, the Operator wont let him, so he has to beg tim to do it.

And i do intend for Alex to have to BEG for it.

"you're not real, you've never been real" honestly feels like how Alex would have felt back in university when the Operator first properly showed up and started tormenting him. Like, I feel like he'd be the kind of person to pull all-nighters to catch up on work/homework/revision or whatever, so to begin with he'd assume it was just a hallucination from lack of sleep, and it'd, y'know, kinda give him a kick up the backside to get him to fix his sleep schedule. and then he does that and he's perfectly well rested (or as well rested as he can be) and this 'hallucination' doesn't go away. it's still there and he's viscerally terrified of it, but he's desperately trying to convince himself it's not real.

because why would this faceless man in a suit with arms that are too long be real? that's ridiculous.

but then it starts following him around, and he's getting aggitated and angry and scared and everything starts spinning wildly out of control until he's forced to realise that, oh god, maybe this thing is real and maybe he's in actual fucking danger oh god oh god oh god

Ok thanks God I'm not alone i that lmao but yeah idk just massive streaming and things like that i get why the fans do it and what it could mean in the future but, idk i kinda get the feeling that they're going down a different path that is not it. The song is good and obvs they're talented but does it have an impact? They want to appeal to general audiences (idk why tho since they already did it with their very Korean songs but anyways) but years from now i don't think people would be like "hm so what's the fastest song to reach 1 billion" and they'll go to butter or Dynamite and it'll be like ok that's it?? I get the record breaking stuff help them but i don't see them globally transcending in the way that they want to? Idk how to put it, but atm i feel like they're doing something very plastic and shallow, if I didn't know any better i would say is borderline desperate like they're rushing something that doesn't need to be rushed pls don't hate me i still love them tho and the mental peace they gave me when I needed it is never going to change but right now is like honey what is you doing

Omg I'm so glad you mentioned streaming. I have so many thoughts about streaming culture and how it's become super toxic.

I have people who get angry with me because I refuse to stream any group, I listen to and watch the mvs when I want to and that's it because that's how media should work.

Like I'm not judging people who do stream but the culture has become mega toxic. Like for example, I think there are other groups (Monsta X, Stray Kids, Ateez, for example) who have better songs coming out than Dynamite or Butter. But because BTS is so mega popular and people do the streaming parties it makes them jump in charts and also for awards even if the song is...not as good?

Like it's this blind following and the whole voting culture for awards specifically in kpop means that popularity outs, it is no longer about what songs and performances are best but who is most popular and how many of their fans stream a song 2000 times and personally? That feels like cheating.

And before people say media is always about popularity sure that's true but when 8 million people stream a video or song a thousand times each, it's no longer about widespread popularity. It's gaming the flawed system.

Ndkandks all of wonho's new songs are just, ugh amazing. For me I think ain't about you is my fav. I find myself humming to it at random times of the day the most, the melody is simple and catchy (also his English has improved so much im proud of him) but them LOOKS for this era ??? He didn't come to play haha. Changkyun being the master of art as always. At first was a bitsad for now performances on music shows but then I remembered he uses uhh "colorful words" so maybe that's why cx nonetheless am proud of him, hands down my favorite mixtape that my favs put out

Welp, the mingyu situation has been fully cleared up (ibelieve you answered this before the final pledis statement?) Pledis cleared things up and mingyu did apologize in the statement (this of course may bring up if he was honest with his apology since it was through the company) and I want to say he was honest? Idk, maybe im naive with believing this but he was wanting to meet with everyone that made posts, he did admit he made jokes and simply went along with them so he is taking accountability. I think now, what is best is just try to like move forward from this. This is up to each fan so I totally respect and understand if you may feel a bit "meh" with getting back into supporting mingyu. It is VALID, any fan that says otherwise is a buttsock. If you need some time, that is ok! If you need a break from the fandom, that is also ok! Chanyeol is off fighting indeed, It feels weird but im happy he is able to be away from the idol life (especially after his insta clear out, i got a bit worried there. Rosa! Hello, it's secret santa again!

Oh, Dionysus!! He's such a character, really xD And as a god, he's got a really amazing aesthetic too. You might know this already, but Rick Riordan also got a series about Egyptian Mythology, so if you like his books, I can only recommend those as well (there is also a crossover book where the characters from the Egypt series meet the Percy Jackson characters - the man has created his own Riordan-verse, reallly xD).

You sure won't get hate from me for not really being that much into Love Shot! It's just ridiculous that some fans expect that you just like every song of one artist - especially witha group like EXO that has done so many different music styles already it's just bound to happen that some of them don't really suit your taste, so don't worry - I wouldn't think of judging you for that, rather the people who would give you hate for it. Same goes for Yixing's solo stuff. I am absolutely in love with what he does recently, but don't really listen to Jongdae's solo music that often because it's most of the time not what i am vibing with - that's just how tastes are differing and rather than hating someone for not liking something, I am impressed by the EXO members who can pull off so many many different genres. But enough about that, I'm rambling xD But I've got another Kpop-related question for you: Do you have a favourite MV among the EXO ones? Or multiple? Which ones? I'm really curious because the sure have a lot of different things to chose from xD

The Prisoner of Azkaban is my personal favourite too~ ^^ I also liked The Chamber of Secrets a lot. And I am totally with you about the movies - I understand that you can't put everything of a 1000-pages-book into one movie but they left out some really emotional and important scenes, like you sad. entire characters just lost a bit of their magic because of that... Ahh yes, Newt our all favourite Hufflepuff! I was so glad to see a character like him as a hero. It loosened the stigma of "boring Hufflepuffs" perfectly ^^

I finished all of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians and moved into The Heroes of Olympus now, book 2. I’m so into them right now that I downloaded the kindle app and borrowed the ebooks from my library here, haha Right now it’s mixing Roman/Greek mythology so I’m like OoO but I would totally love to read the Egyptian mythology one too! I watched the two movies too and was thoroughly disappointed. I was like WHAT! So hopefully they do the Disney+ version since Rick Riordan is going to be involved with that one!

I agree. I don’t hate any of their songs but I don’t love all of them either…some do grow on me like for Love Shot, I would def sing along with it but it wouldn’t be the first pick for me to listen to. I completely love that we have EXO’s sound but then we have each individual member with their own sound too. Like they’re all just so talented.

Favorite EXO MV? Hmmm I really like how they did MAMA, Power, and Don’t Fight the Feeling…ones with a lot of colors haha

I haven’t read many books lately so I’m not too sure what I would want as a movie besides redoing the Percy Jackson ones haha I don’t really like book adaptations because I get so invested in the story/characters lol How about you? 1. why did you choose your url?

The OnlyOneOf's brain rot came, I ended up posting mostly about them and so I decided to change it!

I went for something as simple as possible: I chose OnlyOneofyOu because 1. I love the song; 2. it has the name of the group in it so it may be more easy to stumble across ;) all I had to do was to add more "u"

2. any side blogs? if you have them name them and why you have them.

I like to keep everything organized and divided by topic so I'm the type of person to make 84587 different sideblogs if needed lol

this is a sideblog! Used to be for all my fandoms, now it's just for kpop (and dramas when I watch them)

Omg Mir this is evil, I think I'm gonna go tho dwc cause that rap break and Hannies vocals kill me, its the part of that song that really does it for me without it I think the song would just be kind of lackluster for me tbh. also all of back 2 you is so good like ???

4. what was the defining moment that made your ult bias your bias?

its been a long ass ride tbh, I didn't call boo my ub for a long time cause I was like he's not like my other biases?? but I think thats because he's my ub that he's just feels diff then the rest. I'm not exactly sure when it happened but it was just a combo of all the hilarious and precious things he does?? my fave thing about him is his ablitily to take criticism well and his humor. He's a v admirable young man and I wish could be more like him! he's also so caring I'm crying rn just thinking about it. But I say that I wish I could be more like him but in reality we are very similar and I think thats why I like him so much I relate with him and see myself in him??? for me with boo its not a relationship kind of thing (although he'd make the best partner ever tf) Its like I'm constantly rooting for him to succeed because in a way its seeing someone like me succeed! ahah that was a little long winded and deep oops I'm sorry!

I like my natural eye color one of them is more green then the other its nice! but purple eyes like the Targaryen’s in asoiaf would be lit as hell also dragons so???

Bri- ok so my fav physical trait of Bri is his nose, Im a HO for a good nose and his bridge in incredible this this this this I'm also a ho for blond bri. He's just fucking hot and that it every part of him is ideal I suffer everyday also here are some fancams cause ppl need to suffer with me js this this this this this also all of his selfies are art. He's a life ruiner tbh. But as much as I talk about suffering at his hands aha he's the sweetest boy ever like when he hears my days singing its the best thing in life, he's also very driven and hard working and that is very admirable imo.
