that funny fat-tailed lizard is a 'pygmy spiny-tailed skink'! i had a similar reaction so a friend helped sleuth it out. they're Really good.

i cant believe nature was able to improve a skink and yet.............................

sdfsdfs this is supposed to be funny (these two are cartoonish scary villain types but i love them)

Dr. Cardiak sashays into the room, humming along with some pop song as she dances gloved fingers over a wide array of tools. Another lovely day of ethically malevolent medicine really gives her a mood boost. She selects a wonderfully atrocious tool that any other doctor would scoff at, and spins around to the tune. The patient in the other room can wait a moment as she revels in this good mood.

Of course, the moment is cut short with a loud bang.

Nurse Delirium enters the room and knocks a box off of a shelf, klutzy as always– a suspiciously shaped plastic bag slung over her shoulder. She smiles sweetly at the sight of Dr. Cardiak.

“Oh, hello Doc! How’s your treatment with Mr. Weston going?”

Cardiak brushes off the interruption, playing with her tail saw a moment. “It is just splendid. I’ve never seen such lovely lungs before– it’s a shame he has to keep them…”

“Well, there’s always his next visit, Doc,” Delirium says, carefully situating the plastic bag into the holding freezer for later. “You always have a way with words, I’m sure you’ll convince him sooner or later!”

“Of course I will. Now get ready for our next patient, we’ll be operating on an infected leg with her–”

Muffled noises emanate from the operating room.

Cardiak rolls her eyes. “Ugh, patients are always such wimps when they wake up from anesthesia. I guess I’ll get back and sew Mr. Weston back up before we let him leave.”

PLEASE elaborate on the misplaced mice escapades

WELL its basically a lot of what that earlier post said, of putting the mice in a Hot Beverage Cup that they really dont belong in. And also, the “taking a sip from the paintbrush cup” thing where you accidentally get a mouthful of hot mouse water instead of coffee ... 

this was more of a problem for me before i moved into my current place, which has an upstairs landing that my reptiles live on, so i thaw the mice upstairs instead of downstairs in the kitchen. i havent drank any mice since i moved here! but as i have posted many times in the past, instead i end up puting the mice in my pockets and forgetting about them. and sometimes the mice fall out of my pockets without me noticing, and i find them somewhere else. 

places ive found mice: 

-my pockets, of course (with no memory of ever putting them there)

-in the fridge (got confused somehow in the process of removing them from the freezer?)

-in the couch cushions (whats my dog looking for over there? oh dear) 

-under my bed (fell out of pocket?)

-in the printer (so. the printer is on the shelf under my snake tank and i guess one thing led to another? i also have no memory of that) 

-etc 

anyway, i find them before too long because theyre always still solid frozen when i come across them (unless theres others i havent found....) 

actually one time i lost a whole box of them! which was very concerning as you can imagine! and i knew i had just bought a new box so where could they have gone?? so i was very worried about finding them somewhere weird after theyd all thawed and got nasty... anyway then i forgot about the whole thing and found them later on accident (this might be something of a trend) they were still in the freezer thankfully but at some point i guess i had put the box inside of some other box of something else and they were completely hidden from me. 

basically i think past me likes to prank me with mouse tricks? and then i forget about it and surprise myself later

tbh my dreams mostly involve just. moving out, writing a webcomic, n being around ppl that i love.

As for book/tv/movie recs uhh i have been thinking about the movie ‘cats dont dance’ lately, and, not any of those, but Bombarded is a really fun podcast. I recently started reading a collection of short stories called Defying Doomsday that’s p good so far. :3
