“Stay still for me please.”

You’ve always liked listening to Seowon talk. He speaks lightly with a reedlike musical quality that’s pleasant to the ears. And so you try your best not to move as he dots foundation all over your face, the pads of his fingertips warm against your cheeks and forehead.

He continues to talk as he prepares the puff to press the foundation in. You try your best to listen attentively but your gaze flits, distracted by his eyelashes as he looks down at the puff and how elegant his fingers are as he handles it.

Suddenly, he reaches to tilt your chin up and begins to tap your foundation in with the puff.

“Start blending from the outside so it isn’t too thick. You need a blank background.”

You find yourself pressing your mouth into a neutral expression as your eyes meet his. Or rather, you watch as he concentrates on making sure the foundation is spread in a thin, even layer over your face.

Over time, you let yourself become more pliant, letting him tilt your chin up or move your head a certain direction to get the placement of the contour just right. The fluffy brush counters the sensation of his palms and fingers against your skin.

“Now we’ll do your eyebrows and then, eye makeup.”

He says, skimming over the brushes and palettes to find the right ones and holding them up to you.

“I think this should be your color.”

You only hum in agreement as he dips the brushes in and gently taps off the excess. Then, he leans forward. You let the brush distract you once again from how close he is.

“Close your eyes for me please.”

He requests softly as he begins with the eyeshadow. You hear him giggle before brushing over your eyelid.

“Your eyelids are shaking a little, is the brush tickling you?”

Your eyes fly open and the reply dies in your throat when you see his face only a few inches from yours. He tsks playfully.

“Ah, ah, keep your eyes closed, I’ll try to make it quick.”

Your eye makeup takes the longest. Between your shaky eyelids and Seowon’s resolve to get your makeup just right, seconds feel like hours, You force yourself to remain composed as Seowon leans in over and over again. Brush after brush and even his fingertips return to blend the product in, gently patting at your skin.

“Now smile for me please.”

You try your best as he highlights your aegyosal. His next words promptly log your brain offline.

“Wahh so pretty~”

The butterflies in your stomach are going crazy and you swear he can hear your heartbeat as it explodes out of your chest. Except he actually can’t so you’re safe.

Your eye makeup finished, Seowon begins to find the right color of your lips. The way he stares as he brushes pigment over them is not good for you at all. You almost want him to lean in and just- no, no, no you’re fine.

As he moves onto the last step, you struggle to pull yourself together. No such luck.

“Ah, I don’t think we’ll be needing this when you’re blushing for me already~”
