It was only a few days into Melodys' time in Night Raven College and it wasn't exactly easy
For one there were a lot of students who seemed to pick fights with anyone they could
She almost got swept up into a fight between two randos she got away yes but it shook her up a bit
It at least helped that she managed to make nice with a mysterious set of twins within her dorm at least they claimed to be her friends
If she was honest they frightened her a bit but nothing could compare to what was coming and that was
"Swim class!" The voice of Ashton Vargas boomed
Melody and her siblings had never been allowed to go swimming much less near the ocean, whenever she would ask questions she would be on the receiving end of the back of her parents hands
Melody couldn't help her fear of entering the pool
When it was her turn Melody tried to control her breathing but she couldn't help but shake there was something that was going to happen she knew it and it wasn't going to be pleasant
One of the students who seemed to have it out for Melody ever since she showed up, Horst came up to her
"What are you afraid of a little water ?" He taunted
Melody couldn't bring herself to speak up,she walked away since she didn't like confrontation however his maliciousness was only starting
She sat near the pool edge before she felt something push her forward and before she knew it her being was submerged within the pools depths bubbles escaped her lips as she rose from the pool depths
Coughing Melody rose out of the pool and everyone stared at her she didn't understand why, come to think of it she didn't understand why she couldn't feel both her legs it was as if there was only one.
As Melody regained her breath she looked at her hands and saw they were now clawed, webbed and green.
She screamed not understanding what was happening to her, she didn't understand why she looked like this
As Melody screamed one of her classmates, a blue haired second year called Celine Perrine made her way into the pool before she took Melodys hands into hers, deep brown eyes looking into her own
"Melody look at me, look at me" she said calmly trying to calm the screaming girl down
Melody looked into Celines' eyes with her own teary ones
"It's okay, I've got you " with those words Melody calmed down a little
"Did you not know?" Celine asked concerned before Melody shook her head no
"Well I can tell you you're not a monster or anything like that you're a mermaid and from the looks of it you've never transformed before despite feeling pangs" Celine swam them to the edge
She didn't understand what Celine meant by pangs but she finally saw it Celine had a tail herself it sparkled under the water silvery with hints of blue
"What do pangs mean?" She inquired
"It means pains when you look out at sea and aren't close to it,"
Celine helped her onto the pools edge while Floyd couldn't help but stare before Jade closed his jaw despite him being shocked himself
They had a feeling thanks to her scent but they simply couldn't be sure until now
Nikki ran over to them "you okay ?" She asked concerned but it was clear she was ready to beat Horst to a pulp for what he did to her
"Y yeah j just shocked" Melody squeaked out
"Great now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go teach some blokes some manners " she said before walking off a dark smile on her face
"Let's get you dried off " Celine said picking up melody as her tail shifted back into legs
As she was carried many thoughts ran through melodys mind including the fact her parents had lied to her and her siblings for their entire lives
A few days later and Melody was approached once more by Céline and Nikki "We got a proposal for ya love " Nikki smiled
"What is it?" She asked before Céline spoke "we're gonna teach you how to swim and control your mermaid form"
Melody nodded as the girls brought her to the pool
The girls changed to their swimsuits before they jumped in and Melody could take in both their forms
Nikki had beautiful pastel pink skin and upon her head was a cap not unlike a jellyfish and where her legs used to be were pink tentacles that seemed to glide through the water with a soft elegance while Célines' tails scales shined in the water creating a rainbow upon impact and the blue seemed to glitter as if made of jewels
"You're both so pretty " Melody said amazed
"Thank you come on in " Celine said helping her in
Melody felt herself shift once more the foreign feeling making itself known as her legs became a tail
The two had some trial and error but soon enough Melody was swimming much faster than either of them and she loved it
Melody felt free, free in this form of the troubles that plagued her so long but she didn't notice a certain Eel was watching her and he was grinning to himself
hi cat & mouse! 💓 i was wondering if you had any suggestions for a female fc (preferably younger 20's but it's okay if she's a bit older, of any ethnicity) who could play a roguish feline character? for context, the oc is going to be an alien, though i don't really need sci-fi resources for the character, just someone who could fit that vibe! thank you so much for all you do ^_^

RI Girls Soccer Officials president Al Ricci provides this recap of the RIGSO Sportsmanship Awards Dinner, in which East Greenwich, Portsmouth and Central Falls were recognized.
On Saturday January 27th, the Rhode Island Girls Soccer Officials held their annual Sportsmanship awards dinner.
Every fall soccer season, the RI Girls Soccer Officials recognize 3 teams for their outstanding sportsmanship during the fall high school soccer season. One team is selected from D1, D2 and D3/4 respectfully.
RIGSO has been giving the sportsmanship award for many years. Our organization, along with RIIL and NFHS wish to recognize teams that exemplify the positive values of the classroom to field experience.
After every match, the game officials rate each team from 4- Excellent to 1-Poor. Factors include sportsmanship of the players, coaches, and spectators. It is very evident that the 3 schools share one thing in common, a strong culture for positive values.
In D1, East Greenwich high school received the Maddie Potts memorial sportsmanship award. This is the 4th consecutive year that EG won this award. The award is named after Maddie Potts, a dynamic multi-sport student athlete at Chariho High School who passed away during her senior year at Chariho. Maddie exemplified the strong positive values of dedication, determination, and sportsmanship. It is in her honor that the Rhode Island Girls Soccer Officials recognize girls’ soccer teams that embody those values.

Gianna was a dynamic multi-sport student athlete at Toll Gate High School who passed away at the young age of 16. Gianna exemplified the strong positive values of friendship, teamwork, dedication and sportsmanship. It is in her honor that the Rhode Island Girls Soccer Officials recognize girls’ soccer teams that embody those values.

Jack Breetveld was a long-time soccer official who spearheaded the development of soccer in the state of Rhode Island . Jack's vision in the early days of soccer, stressed the positive values of dedication, determination and good sportsmanship. It is in his honor that the Rhode Island Girls Soccer Officials recognize girls soccer teams that embody those values.

The Rhode Island Girls Soccer Officials wish to thank all the schools who participated in the fall high school soccer program. It was one of the most exciting and memorable seasons we have seen in many years.
Puerto Rico's Former Mayor: From Contract Awards to Cash Stacks
So, picture this: Reinaldo Vargas-Rodriguez, the former mayor of the municipality of Humacao, Puerto Rico, has just been sentenced to a thrilling three years and one month in the slammer. Why, you ask? Well, apparently he was getting all tangled up in a bribery extravaganza! 🎩💰
From 2021 until 2022, this guy Vargas-Rodriguez was the big cheese in Humacao, strutting around as the mayor and the ultimate top dog in the government scene. But wait for it… he decided to add some spice to his job description by diving headfirst into a bribery conspiracy! Yep, you heard that right. He was like, "Hey, two businessmen, if you slide me some cash, I'll slide you some sweet municipal contracts." Can you imagine? The Justice Department must've been flabbergasted! 🕵️♂️
So, what kind of contracts are we talking about here? Oh, just your everyday glamorous waste disposal services, asphalt and paving services (because who doesn't dream of paving the way to success?), and even debris removal! It's like he was hosting a municipal contract garage sale, and cash was the currency of choice.💸
Now, brace yourself, because Vargas-Rodriguez wasn't playing for peanuts. He raked in a jaw-dropping $27,000 in cold, hard cash bribes between January and July of 2021. And all he had to do was sprinkle a little contract magic in return. Not a bad deal, right? 💼✨
But that's not all, folks! Hold onto your hats, because while Vargas-Rodriguez was dancing his bribery dance, there was a Puerto Rico Legislator named Maria Milagros Charbonier indicted for a spectacular combo of theft, bribery, and fraud. It's like a corruption fiesta up in here! 🎉
And guess who came to the party to announce the sentence for Vargas-Rodriguez? None other than Acting Assistant Attorney General Nicole M. Argentieri, U.S. Attorney W. Stephen Muldrow, Assistant Director Luis Quesada, and Special Agent in Charge Joseph Gonzalez. They probably needed a red carpet just to fit all those names! 🎬🎤
The FBI San Juan Field Office was on the case, busting open this corruption piñata. And the cherry on top? This whole ordeal was part of the Department of Justice's ongoing efforts to clean up the act of municipal officials who can't seem to resist the allure of corruption. 🕵️♀️🚫
But wait, there's more! In addition to Vargas-Rodriguez's escapades, there's been a whole parade of other officials and contractors getting caught with their hands in the bribery cookie jar. It's like a wild carnival of corruption down there in Puerto Rico! 🎪🍪
Oh, and don't even get me started on Angel Perez Otero, the former mayor of Guaynabo, who was caught accepting cash payments in cars and under restaurant tables. It's like a crime thriller meets a foodie adventure! 🚗🍽️
And hey, guess what? Even former Puerto Rico Gov. Wanda Vázquez wasn't left out of the party. She got her own dose of bribery charges for her campaign financing shenanigans. It's like everyone's trying to snag a golden ticket to the "Bribery Scandal Hall of Fame"! 🎟️🏛️
So, to sum it up, Puerto Rico's got it all: bribery bonanzas, cash-stuffed contracts, and a cast of characters that could give a telenovela a run for its money. And through it all, reporter Danielle Wallace was there to capture the madness. You go, Danielle! 📸🎥# Puerto Rico's Former Mayor: From Contract Awards to Cash Stacks

We held our second essay writing contest by the end of November, 2021. This time we had the contribution from our Dean Cristina Moyano who supported us with the wonderful prizes for our winners. Our contest jurors were our professors Gabriel Romero and Miguel Farías and Francsico Matus and Ricardo Luna, alumni from The University of Santiago de Chile.
We, as The Rotten Apple, would like to extend our thanks to everyone involved, both organizers and participants; this event would not have had the success it had without all of you.
So, from our mushy peel and dried-up stem to the centre of our rotten core, we thank you.
