There's not a night that goes by that Lou Kelly doesnt cry herself to Sleep, Rebs absence has never felt so big, so dark, making her life lived in just shades of grey. Pain. Heartache. To go on another day with the memory of waking up to the love of your life dead in your arms.. how cruel can this world be? Lou Kelly has gone through a lot of pain, trauma, A LOT of tough times, shes had to be her roughest, meanest version to survive.. but Reb reminded her of her softer side, made her feel true love for the first time. To have that ripped away so fast? In just a blink of her eye, thats wrong on every level, a pain she doesnt know how she is currently getting through. A pain she doesnt think she can ever accept as her reality. How do you heal when you feel so much anger, hatred, guilt.. way more added on to what she already had to feel growing up, the feelings she adapted to. He kept that light on in her heart, brought out her most determined, protective, vulnerable, inlove self, he was the light in her life and when he died, he took that light with him. Post-Reb life is just complete and utter pain, clinging on to whatever she can to stay alive, to keep existing when she really just wants to be with Reb. The power and strength it takes Lou daily to walk with the toll she has on her soul after the things she witnessed, the things shes been through.. it gets more painful as each day passes.

Nightmares plague lous sleep, leaving her restless as she grieves, mourns, cries herself to the scariest visions her subconscious has prepared for her in her slumber. Rebs face, eyes pleading for help, she cant get to him.. no matter how hard she fights, screams, how many people she kills, no matter what she says, shes powerless to save him and now hes screaming at her piling on all the blame, all her biggest fears coming to life, Reb knowing she let him down in his most vulnerable traumatic moments of need.

The light going out in rebs eyes when he looks at her, the look of pure hatred as her world goes black and shes suddenly a little girl, scared, stuck in her room, shaking in her boots, 3:38 the first time she felt time stand still as her emotional growth gets stuck at the age she first witnesses the first event that changed everything. Her nightmares consist of losing Reb and him turning on her, twisted events in her childhood that scarred her mind, the events that caused lous battlescars on her body.

Now thats just her nightmares..

Her dreams in general when she experiences them and remembers them is just Reb. Reb and her happy in a little cottage near a river, living peaceful happily ever after: the life they wanted to have if the world didnt take it away from them. No one around to trigger Lous rage, no kids tying them to one place, living on the edge getting high off loving eachother as their lives age and their minds grow together, as Reb becomes more himself then ever, as their love continues to thrive in an emvironment fit for them unlike the bars that have always haunted Lous life.

The life they should have had continues in Lous dreams, giving her little hints of the pure blissful heaven she used to get from his wholesome love and trust. Which makes waking up more painful then ever, when she blinks and his absense is slammed in her face, reality that she only feels more bitter in bringing her back to earth, that anger and pain, hatred of everything and everyone coursing through her veins coming back as she is forced to face another day locked up in the prison that took everything from her, the prison she will probably never escape.
