was doing a dive into tfwiki and found this little fun fact for scrapped idw quickswitch

its funny to imagine the crew come together and build a baby, but whats funnier is the implication that this would be the second time megatron has witnessed the birth of a super warrior (overlord) but also the second time Prowls influence led to his ex building a super soldier (tarantulas saying without prowl ostaros would have never existed/ chromdome performing mnemosurgery on overlord bc of prowl)

#irezumi #japanese cinema #1966 #yasuzô masumura #jun'ichirô tanizaki #kaneto shindô #ayako wakao #akio hasegawa #gaku yamamoto #kei satô #fujio suga #reiko fujiwara #asao uchida #kikue môri #hikaru hayashi #absolutely beautiful film. full of deep‚ rich colours and vibrant detail‚ a masterful composition on a morbid subject #I've loved the other Masumura films I've seen‚ and appreciate his aesthetic focus and eye for detail but this is the first of his colour #works I've seen and it's a whole new level. near perfect in pure visual terms; plotting and script‚ while suitably dramatic #and tragic‚ aren't quite as perfect. centres on a terrific performance from Wakao as a woman transformed from an impulsive and #irresponsible but romantic girl into a cold‚ near monstrous vision of vengeful hatred. arguably Masumura is asking the viewer to look at #Wakao's distorted personality by the end of the film as somewhat grotesque or at least as tragic but i gotta say that in 2023 it's hard not #to feel a frisson of 'good for her' as she engineers the bloody deaths of every man who ever wronged her #the character could perhaps have used a little more nuance and I'd also have liked to have seen more made of the parallels in trading flesh #(both figuratively as sex work and literally as canvas for tattooists) but these are relatively minor gripes. a kind of updated fairy tale #with a moralist slant‚ but a deeply beautiful one. rain swept and blood drenched‚ deep shadows and pale skin‚ flashing blades and #rich fabric folds. sumptuous.

Sorry if you’ve already answered this question, or if you haven’t seen the movie, but what did you think of Mirage in ROTB? I know his personality is wildly different in the movie, but I feel like it’s generally accepted at this point that transformers characters are very fluid, and I think Pete Davidson did a great job voicing him!

I LOVE him!!! :D I added him to my F/O list immediately lol! I've only seen TFP/RiD2015 and Rescue Bots, I haven't seen any iterations involving Mirage yet, so the movie was my first introduction to the character. I totally agree with you, I think his voice and line delivery was absolutely perfect and I really enjoyed his personality!!

I literally fell for him the second he was on screen. I got chills when they panned in on his vehicle form and showed his Autobot insignia. And when he transformed into his alt mode I was like!!! Wow gosh he's so handsome!!! He's got so many blues, my favorite color!!!! I'm very fond of his fun and laid back personality, and I love that he swore so often. "Yo, don't leave me with these tight-asses, bro!" is my favorite line 😂 I also love how casually flirty he was with Noah. Mwah, chef's kiss, perfection ✨

the evil dead (1981): a group of friends go to a camping trip and accidentally unleash hell by checking out a book made of playdoh!!! they all tragically die through some of the most fucked up deaths in cinema :[

evil dead (2013): a group of assholes that im surprised are even still friends by the time they kill each other. they all look like the exorcist girl with sith eyes. mia was the only cool part of this film

evil dead 2 (1987): top 10 best comedies of the 1980s,
