Oh my god i HATED one last stop genuinely the thought of it fills me with rage for so many reasons

Oh i did not enjoy it at ALL. I was desperately trudging along trying to get through it. The characters were all very flat and irritating and the whole premise was just very boring to me… I didn’t really like the prose either? If I remember correctly it was sort of like. Listing things a lot. It surprised me how much I hated it bc even tho a lot of things about rw&rb were also irritating to me I still overall enjoyed the read. But ols was just not redeemable to me. All that said I did still cry at the radio song part.

They both go and ask him for a spot to play at his bad as solo performances but he can only do one show per week so they kinda reluctantly agree to merge into a band for the sake of convenience. Cam becomes their drummer cuz you need a drummer and Gideon asked super really hard

OH MY GOD HI IPHIGENIA FAN READ MY INSANE IPHIGENIA RAMBLE

I love iphigenia in aulis i did a 20 minute video project about her last year (harder than it sounds) based off of like 3 versions of the play and like. Idek what my favorite part of it is. The death/marriage parallels. The gender of it all. Artemis' role. Did you know theres versions where shes actually demanding a sacrifice bc someone killed her sacred bear or smth? Im sure u did but anyways in the most modern version i read, iphigenia is actually the one who killed the bear and theres this whole crazy thing its so good. The only thing i dislike abt iphigenia is whatever the fuck Racine was doing when he wrote his version. I hate Racine's Iphigénie à Aulis forever. Except maybe for ériphile i have mixed feelings about her. God i want to keep going sorry for the ramble we should talk about iphigenia more tho

I had not heard the bear version! I always heard that it was a deer in her sacred grove. That sounds fascinating—what version did you read that had Iphigenia killing a bear? I am so down for that.

I definitely know how difficult a 20-minute presentation can be, so congrats!! Seriously good job.

It’s probably been 10 years since I’ve read any version of Iphigenia’s story (wow just like the Torjan War fr… PARALLELS…..) so I was excited to check out a few translations of the obvious sources (Eumenides’s plays on the subject). It feels a little like coming home to an old friend. If you’ve got more you like I’d love to hear them!
