I hate to say it, but I think End OTW Racism is just Antis establishing a new front and hoping to wound the Archive that way.
Here's what I think the play is: they are going to cite the OTW not responding to their demands very "mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa" publicly and not hiring a diversity consultant as PROOF that the organization is racist and loves racism and people should not donate to them anymore. And they are going to hammer hard on that come the next donation drive.
"Don't donate to the OTW, they are RACIST (and love child porn)."
And a lot of people who have not thought the whole thing through, and haven't connected the dots will fall for it, hook, line, and sinker.
Why do I think this?
First off, they cite Stich and Nerdlingwrites whose final comment in this very popular post, certainly seems very anti https://www.tumblr.com/nerdlingwrites/624303276296388609/seriously-im-going-to-delete-this-post-just-so ("What I'm saying, what black people and other people of color and trans people and PEOPLE WHO HATE CHILD PORN, are all saying is that AO3 needs to put on their big person pants and start asking themselves hard questions.")
Now, out of all the posts/metas that could've been chosen to illustrate the points that EOTWR could've chosen? Why those two bloggers?
Nerdling goes on to say: "Stop trying to act like AO3 is the be all and end all of platforms. They rise and fucking fall, just like empires. And if they can't get their shit together to fight racism that's rampant on their site? Then boo fucking hoo, they can go the way of MySpace. You'll live without porn, but plenty of my people are dying from racism, you'll forgive me if I don't give a shit about your masturbatory aids. Learn to write your own fucking stony diaper porn if that's what you're into, and stop being a shithead."
AS IF all of the AO3 is nothing but Pr0n. It's where many marginalized people find their voice and agency and finally finally finally see themselves reflected. (Also note the addition Anti sentiment.)
But this part in particular: "Then boo fucking hoo, they can go the way of MySpace. "
I hate to be this cynical and I hope I am wrong, but Nerdlingwrites' post being held up and endorsed through the linking is deeply troubling.
They could've harvested her screenshots and credited them, but no ... they linked her entire post with no disclaimer.
I know a fucking dog-whistle when I hear it.
--
Oh, I'm sure they're not all antis.
I think plenty of them are the kind of people who hear "I was harmed" and think you have to always take that at face value and always try to fix things. Telling someone to their face "No, I won't do anything about your pain" feels wrong to most people.
In reality, lots of people say "harmed" when they mean "I feel uncomfortable about something that is none of my business and that no one asked me to go look at".
They're not even lying. They're just bad at managing their emotions, and catering to them creates an environment where the only way to get treated well is to be performatively the most fragile.
My view is that, like jealousy, woobies are fun fanfic and not something to be tolerated in real life.

Some thoughts and tips on beating writers block:
1. You cannot beat writers block by wanting to write
And in fact in my experience, the more you want to write, the less able you will be to do so. For me, the biggest step in overcoming writers block is accepting that I have it and that’s normal and okay. More pressure and self critical thinking has never helped me.
2. Ban yourself from writing
Reverse psychology can be something you do to yourself!! Set a date before which you are not allowed to write (a week, a month your choice). Whenever I do this I rarely make it to the day I said I would without “cheating” and writing.
3. When you are writing, set future you up for success.
Write one sentence of the next section or chapter. Or give yourself a little outline of what happens next. Write a few bits of dialogue for an upcoming portion. Anything that makes it so you are not tackling something empty next time you start.
4. Classically condition yourself
This one is going to sound nuts but I did it on accident for work. Every day I would play a specific number game (nerdle) to get my brain started and that made we wake up a bit and be ready to code. Now I can play that game and get started working so much more easily than before. It can be anything- a place to sit, a flavor of tea, some activity you do before, etc etc etc. Ideally it should something you like doing but only do before writing. Of course you have to start this while you’re writing, but once the connection is there you can trick your brain later. Also! You may have done this without realizing, in which case, following your old habits might help you write!
5. It’s okay to switch WIPs
If George RR Martin can do it so can you! Will he ever write winds of winter? Seemingly no, but he has written other books. If there’s a Problem with something you’re writing you can and should take a break and write something else. If your thing is too sad, write something happy. If it’s too complicated and plotty, write something simple. You might find yourself drawn back to what made excited about the wip later.
6. Done is better than Perfect/editing is easier than writing
All hail the shitty first draft! It can be terrible! So bad! It’s easier to write poorly than well. Give yourself permission to write poorly.
7. Community helps
Join a writers group or discord! Little group writing sprints and discussions make writing less solitary and more communal. Similarly, doing writing for specific events (NaNoWriMo or fandom exchanges etc) can help you feel like you are writing for something and often there is a community built in! People that wrote a lot for school sometimes find a deadline helpful.
8. Is it really writers block?
You might have writers block, or you might have other stuff going on! Maybe the writers block is actually a symptom of a mental or physical health issue. Maybe you’re really stressed at work or school or by family. I recommend going after the cause if this is the case! See a therapist or a doctor! Finish school! Change jobs! Move somewhere better! The writing will be there when you are ready for it. In the meantime forgive yourself for being human.

'Librarian' seems pretty ok to me. From what I remember, most of the shown ancestor titles are 8-letters long because some of them are told by a Serket. Doc Scratch was also the other one to reveal some titles. I'm not sure if it's just a case of someone that tends to write things w/ eight and a being that just wants to follow a writer's quirk or if it's an actual rule for "The XXXX" format to have 8 letters.
I know it's just a convention started by Mindfang, and one that's not even followed by everyone- Her Imperious Condescension and The Grand Highblood don't follow this rule- And while The Condesce does, it's a shortening of Condescension, and written like a Lowblood Title in a spiteful manner. But I do like trying to stick to it as closely as possible. I've also had someone mention 'Archivist' instead of 'Librarian', which is fun too. X3
lol. when you're so nerdy that even other Homestuck nerds call you 'The Nerdling'
I find it cute if nothing else. 😌 I am a nerd, and I am short, so-
So are you decided on nerdling?
I am not, however, decided on it, honestly. X3

rap sheet ** accepting
djkshfkh i almost tagged this with 'please don't call me intimidating i might cry.' I GET IT though, I'm loud and proud and don't know how to stfu so it can feel hard to break through that. BUT YEAH A NERDLING. That me. I'm stealing that word. Nerdling. I'm so glad you gave me a chance bc my muse's development and my writing would be less were it not for you.

All right, fellow Owl House nerdlings.
Now that the series is complete for the foreseeable future and the voices in my head are winning, I can (maybe, probably not) write fanfiction!!!!!
Now, as someone from the Undertale community AND someone who has seen Fanart, y'all are apparently a fan of AUs, so I'll let y'all be my brain.
So basically like
Try to set up the events of The Owl House, perhaps including concepts like the Golden Guards and Basilisks that DON'T conflict with canon (hopefully)
OR
Try to set up an alternative version of Belos that can now be way more evil due to no Disney limitations, setting up an Owl House story changed by these modifications
or just dont

NERDS: A Manifesto | A Capella Science
youtube
I got a lyrical proclivity
Special like relativity
General knack of physics
Incredible rap ability
Feeling me? Don't tell me these glasses lack in virility
I'm physically intimate yo
Cause physics is into me
The cold open
Nerds from CERN to Hoboken
The soft spoken
When talking openly
Gets your nose broken
It's no joke and I'm
Not hoping to make light
Just throwing a rope
If you got no hope
To hang tight
Dang right
I know what high school life is like
Can't fight
When every bully is twice your height
Turning the pages fascinated up late nights
But stay bright little nerdling
Cause when the hard part's done you got the world on a string
Leaving home as a hobbit you'll return as a king
Cause modern life is brain boxing and you're lord of the ring
It goes
Nerds!
Our name since junior high
But now we're Doctor Last Name saving juniors' lives
It goes
Nerds!
We got pushed at the front of the class
But now we running banks pushing fat stacks of cash
It goes
Nerds!
Ears burnin but we never let it catch fire
Stayed calm built a dot com empire
Nerds!
So keep your pride with your face in the dirt
Cause it's no secret that the geek shall inherit the earth
I'm repping nerd rights
Because we're hotter than thermite
Sharper that any pencil
At the start of the term
Might I suggest
That next to any text a nerd writes
That Hollywood gossip whoring
Is boring like a termite
Cause we're the greats
From Shakespeare to Cape Fear
Oscar nom dot com bubbles in your great beer
Engineers need a mention here
For turning tension and stress
Into a professional career
Yeah we've learned to be relentless
So whether you're a chemist
Inventor of medicines
Or a dental hygienist
Apprentice in theoretical dietetics of lettuce
Just get up and represent;
You know the world has got a nerd fetish
So all my geeks in the closet living secretly
I see you sneaking nature docs on the BBC
No time to hide, take pride in our legacy
Cause it's a brand new world; 51 Pegasi
Nerds!
You say we're lame; are you kidding me?
Nerds!
You think great techs can't have great sex?
We study Wikipedia pages and type in LaTeX
Nerds!
Kept you blind, under cover like a peregrine
Sly enough to leave you Hufflepuffin' while we Slytherin
Nerds!
I never got to be fly as a kid
But my vocabulary gave me sick rhymes to spit
I studied science
Grew up to be a rhyme sayer
No Minnesota connection, one of a kind
Say you're pumping iron?
I'm pumping ions through this bilayer
You can't abide this myelin if you try, player
Mind greater than a giant Ghana land snail
Sign "theta" when I'm answering my fan mail
Rhymes get under your skin just like a hang nail
Wits make you dizzy better hold on to the handrail
I know my limits,
So don't you try to limit me
Won't be derivative
Spitting back what you're giving me
What matters is understanding patterns and symmetry
So I'll be integrating your factual data lyrically
OMG so OP These NERDs
Got the ATP to defeat all you NPCs
LCD to your CRT
TNG to your TMZ
ICBM to your TNT
Cause we're explosive like caesium
Bright like burning magnesium
Swallow you like amoebas
Enveloping paramecium
Fighters right in our element
Like a knight in Elysium
When we bridle the elements
Hell we make it look easy hon.
You think it looks easy? Umm.
Well how bout we face off?
Ignoring laboratory procedure?
You'll blow your face off
So keep your He-Man stats in your grey skull
Cause grey matter is power
That's the power of Grayskull
Nerds!
They called us ADHD, made us take pills
Now we're rippin 88 keys, rocking great skills
Nerds!
If you ever took band or theatre
Take a bow to the haters
And say "Calc-u-later!"
Nerd!
You don't appreciate this high tone
Tell me again how you would die without your iPhone
Nerd!
Music, science and art, the trifecta
Kneel before the mighty pocket protector

Nerd Herd Chairman's Award Essay
Written by members of FIRST Robotics Team 4043 "Nerd Herd" Editing and Writing Coaching by Jay Eagan
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” - Napoleon Hill. We at NerdHerd believe this statement deeply embodies both FIRST values and the maker movement as a whole. Our goal is to advocate the advancements of FIRST in our community and get adults and children of all ages involved in the benefits FIRST has to offer. Participating in FIRST provides our team members with increased problem-solving abilities, communication skills, stronger community ties, career readiness, and an enthusiasm for every aspect of STEM. We’re always looking to bring more people into the FIRST family, which is why this year we gave out candy with our bot, exclaiming “Take some Robot Candy! It’s better than normal candy, because it’s from a Robot!” With this battle cry we aim to demystify STEM and invite others to make alongside us.  Though it is our goal to teach others, we’re always looking to learn.
STEM is seen by many as an intimidating field, full of technical jargon and scary tools. NerdHerd is always seeking to teach others about STEM and show them the joy of being a maker and a FIRST student. Robot Candy is our way of doing this. When we take our robot out on the town to community events, we use it to hand out candy, endorsed with the phrase “Robot Candy is better than normal candy, because it’s from a robot”. This gives people a chuckle and a way to approach the robot in a way they couldn’t before. Robot Candy is something they will remember, and when they remember that, they’ll remember what it means to be a maker and to be a FIRST student.
Alongside our Robot Candy, we also use our cow theme to make STEM less threatening. Through branding ourselves with the cow theme, we were able to better connect with younger students and the community as a whole. Our creative branding and marketing has attracted many students to our team; one of our students joined because they thought our team jackets looked cool, and it soon sparked a love for building robots. We encourage gracious professionalism throughout our team by stressing the importance of education and working together instead of winning. Additionally, we spread the message through our community by illustrating how teamwork and hard work can aspire amazing results. The community has welcomed the cow theme kindly and often begin to “Moo!” when they see us in parades or presentations.
NerdHerd has been a paragon for young engineers and thinkers in our school, community, and across the Pacific Northwest. As a team, we make it one of our top priorities to share our love of STEM with younger generations and our community.  We take care to show we are gracious, professional, responsible, and, of course, safe. Community outreach is a keystone of FIRST, and we’ve had several presentations and contacts with our community’s Kiwanis Club, Lion’s Club, and school board over the years. In order to keep NerdHerd going for many years to come and spread the message of FIRST, we started  a Jr.. FLL team last  year, the Nerdlings. By introducing them to the STEM fields early, we hope to continue their interests and further their education. Our plan is to have a NerdHerd team at every level of FIRST competition, building the next generation of engineers. The Nerdlings often meets during the same time as our FRC team so that our high school students can share what they know with the elementary students. We encourage them to design their robot with out-of-the-box thinking, but are always surprised by their creative feedback for our robot. Our team members also spend extensive time helping the Jr. FLL members practice presenting and speaking with others. During our team’s engineering entry into the LEAP Competition to create an exhibit for OMSI, our Jr. FLL team gave many creative, helpful insights that helped our interactive exhibit win. Due to request, our team is planning to start a FLL team for our Jr. FLL team to graduate to. We would then encourage the advanced FLL students to work with the Jr. FLL team and solve problems together..To extend our youth outreach, the NerdHerd volunteers with many FIRST robotics events such as mentoring Jr. FLL teams, judging third grade robotics events, volunteering at FLL and FTC events, and personally mentoring and presenting to FTC and FLL teams. A lot of our team members also give physical science demonstrations to elementary students of Yamhill County along with a tour of our home: the Evergreen Space & Aviation Museum. In addition, NerdHerd has a display of our robot in its own exhibit for all of our community members to see and often do robot showings on the museum floor. NerdHerd also presents and shares advice  to local middle schools and support our community’s FTC and FLL teams. Most students graduating from our community’s Junior High FTC and FLL program pursue robotics, whether it is joining NerdHerd or maintaining as a FIRST volunteer..Our team’s ultimate goal is inspire our community to collaborate together to solve problems and pursue passion in STEM.
Our team empowers our own students and encourages them to pursue STEM and engineering at robotics as well as outside NerdHerd. Most of are students are enrolled in the Engineering Aerospace & Sciences Academy pathway through our school and learn to apply the Engineering design process to all projects and robotics. Several of our team members are involved with the creation of a nanolab project that will be tested on the International Space Station. Three of our members are also involved with our schools’ Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam where they are applying the engineering and soft skills they learned in robotics to a real world problem. Our students were selected as one of fourteen teams  in the nation to receive $10,000 to help fund our project building a refugee shelter to help provide temporary shelter to those struck by natural disasters. In addition, all seven out of seven seniors on NerdHerd are pursuing STEM related careers after graduation. On top of that, our team members often stay involved with FIRST robotics after graduation and start to mentor our team’s new members if available. Most of the students on our team who do not have the time commitment to be a team member with FIRST Robotics Challenge either stay involved as a partial members or continue spreading the FIRST message by mentoring an FTC, FLL, or Jr. FLL team.
FIRST is like a family to all of us, and this year many of our mentors are dedicated parents. Throughout the season they lend us both their sage advice and a helping hand, teaching us what they know, and learning the values of FIRST alongside their children. They have experience in fields ranging from web design and business management to mathematics and engineering, and have helped us restructure both how we tackle obstacles and how we organize the team. Having these family members within the team also allows parents to share quality time with their children and become more involved in their lives, often an aspect that is missing from team competitions on the scale of FIRST.
The sponsors who have helped our team to grow and develop in our past 4 seasons include: OnPoint Community Credit Union, Boeing, the Oregon Department of Education, Evergreen Aviation and Space Museums, , NASA, Al’s Sharpening, JCPenney,, Andrews Cooper, Wilco, Freelin-Wade,, Meggitt, Autodesk, Viable Alternatives LLC, Botten’s Equipment Rental,Encore Home Furnishings, APTECH, Axian Custom Design, Online Northwest, Hunt Family Dental, and ADEC. We are thankful to have so many companies and small businesses in our community interested in what we are doing, and helping us to spread FIRST’s message. Through several contacts, we have been able to strengthen the relationship between our team and our sponsors; not only for this year, but for years to come. Two seasons ago, , the team started its new $200 fundraising goal for each team member. This way we wouldn’t have to worry about funds during build season or competition time and could focus instead, on our robot. It proved very useful, and is a strategy we hope we can extend to others who are struggling to make time for all that is needed.  This has also been a valid method of accountability to hold each team member responsible for making effort to expand his or her horizons and reach out to the community.
Several explanations have come from various team members and they all have something in common, “First is Awesome”. FIRST gives students a chance to explore many aspects of the engineering fields that might not otherwise be possible in their high schools. It is considered by many, the varsity sport of the mind.  Perhaps the best answer was given by a rookie team member with learning and social disabilities,  “FIRST is something other than robots. Not only do we build robots but inspire people to love engineering.” We believe that impacting lives and making a difference is really what FIRST stands for.

If you're writing prompts, how about “Are you flirting with me?” “You finally noticed?” -with Donnie where he's oblivious that his crush likes him?
Tumblr media
Donatello had been at work in his laboratory for several days straight. The brainy turtle was like a well oiled machine, only instead of oil, he ran on black coffee. From his brothers’ accounts, he hadn’t left his lab once. This was unacceptable. You knew him all too well, and that meant he’d been so engrossed in his project that self-care took a back seat. He was notorious for putting his work before himself. Such dedication was admirable, but you cared for him, and couldn’t allow him to continue on this way.
After work you dropped by his favorite Italian restaurant and picked up some good old fashioned spaghetti and meat balls. And of course, tiramisu for dessert. You strolled into the lair with all the confidence in the world that you could convince him to take a break, even if just to have a quick bite to eat. Entering the laboratory, it was dark, the only light offered was thanks to his countless computer monitors. As you approached you could hear the sound of rigorous typing and mumbles escaping him. He didn’t say a word, but was aware of your presence, peering over his shoulder quickly before refocusing.
“Donnie, I brought you some Italian.”
“Hold on, I need to get this down.” He replied, not ceasing his typing for even a second. When this went on for more than a few minutes, you spoke up once more.
With a sing-song intonation you hoped to sway him, “I even got your favorite…Tiramisu.”
Not a peep came from the busy boy. Perhaps if food wasn’t the answer, seduction was. Being as shy as you were, you never had the guts to express your feelings for him. And you’d certainly never once been brave enough to make such bold moves with him previously, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Flirting wasn’t exactly a specialty of yours, however, you were prepared to do anything for the sake of his well being. Pulling inspiration from the countless romantic comedies you’d seen over the years, a clever line swiftly came to mind.
“Ooh, this Bunsen burner is hot…” You started, walking your fingers up his shoulder, “Just like someone else I know.”
He was quick to brush your hand away, absentmindedly. When he didn’t so much as look up from his task, you frowned. Time to kick it up a notch, pull out the big guns. Was he ready for the heavy artillery? There was no time for stupid questions or hesitation, now was the time for ACTION.
“Someone as brilliant as you should know that lack of proper nutrition can impair cognitive function.”
That was enough to garner and laugh from the tall terrapin, snorts soon following. “You’ve been hanging around me too much.”
The way his nose twitched every time he snorted was so charming it should be illegal. If you were a cuteness cop, you’d arrest him for aggressive adorableness. Playful giggles left you along with your response, “You say that like it’s a bad thing.” One of your hands then reached up and softly traced his shell. Once again, he didn’t react, still deeply focused. With a frustrated huff, you moved in intimately close and whispered, “It’s not a bad thing.”Nothing.
That was the last straw, you couldn’t handle his indifference for a moment longer. “Alright, listen up!” You exclaimed, “Get your cute-ass self up, eat, maybe stretch…and I know you won’t agree to sleeping, but at least take a nap!"
The sudden burst of anger nearly caused him to jump from his seat, and he spun around in his chair to face you, glasses almost falling from his face. It was all so unexpected that the compliment on his appearance was nearly missed…Nearly.
"D-did you just call me…c-cute?” He stammered out the question, adjusting his glasses as his eyes met with yours. “Are you flirting with me?”
“You finally noticed?” You chuckled, a faint blush crossing your cheeks. “You know…For a genius, you’re really dense sometimes.” Feeling a rush of anxiety take hold, you turned to leave only to feel the gentle tug of his hand on your wrist.
“Forgive me, but…Please don’t go.” Clasping your hand, he gently petted it with his thumb as he asked shyly, “Would you like to join me for dinner? There’s more than enough for two."
Elated at his words, but composed in your answer, you nodded. With a soft smile, he led you back to his work table. Pushing his papers, keyboard, and various sundries aside, he made room for eating. The two of you talked for hours. More flirtatious words flew and laughter filled the air. After that, he promised to sleep, and he did. Ever since that night, you started visiting whenever he overworked himself; and for that, he’s incredibly thankful. It wasn’t about you taking care of him that mattered, it was you showing that you cared.

That transformer fic being screenshotted and posted by that nerdling person. Yeah that’s someone that is known for encouraging fabricating evidence about fandom racism in dragon age fandom and taking what people say and write about out context. There was once a fic in da fandom that was a Pocahontas AU. Nerdling and their accomplice at the time dalishious viscerally attacked and harassed the author of that fic and sent their goon squad at them. Only to find out the author was indigenous themselves and exploring themes related to their experience! I wouldn’t trust any screenshot from nerdling. And their inclusion in the EndOTWRacism thing was immediately suspicious to me because of that.

Another concrete evidence to prove the fact that:
Everything's so arduous, until you write it down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This number puzzle took me half an hour staring at the screen, mentally calculating.
Hours later, I got home, got a pencil, a piece of paper and started to copy down the very hints I had had so far.
I had it finished in one take.
Everything's so arduous, until you write it down.
If you're thinking too much and gaining no certain progress, write it down.
Tumblr media
Every brain is messed up, believe it or not. Especially for those who have too much going on in their heads - creative workers for instance.
You may not get the idea right away, but papers are definitely more beneficial in helping you develop a clear path to solutions, in comparison with your messed up brain.
Have a nice day.

Brainy tried not tostare at Clark’s body in the red-and-blue leotard, even though he wore anoutfit that was just as skintight normally.
“Clark, remind mewhy we’re doing this again?”
Clark sighed.Brainy wanted to imagine that Clark was looking at him in the same way, eventhough he personally wasn’t much to look at. “First, because you need to getmore exercise now that you’re human. I know you were flexible as a robot, but…”

Alright fellow nerdlings (nerdlets?) of the Witcher fandom, I have a couple of questions as someone who hasn’t even really introduced myself into the fandom yet, but is hoping to do so.
First of all, is there by any small chance any sort of active Calanthe/Eist fandom group/squad/clique I can or should introduce myself to? Because holy shit I need someone to talk to about them.
Second of all (though this goes hand-in-hand with the first question, in a way or two), is there anyone at all who’d be down to beta some fresh fanfic that’s primarily centered on Calanthe/Eist, or at least on one of the two of them? (While I do enjoy romance, it’s pretty rare that that’s the entire point of something I write, lol. That’s all.)
Specific beta needs are still pretty unknown as I am only JUST starting to find my ability to write again, though I’m usually pretty good on spelling and grammar and the like. What I typically need is more “rein in the descriptions, lioness,” and an eye for plot holes or characterization missteps.
I will add, though, that my writing can (and often does) tend toward some pretty dark and mature themes and content, especially surrounding topics like trauma, grief, violence, and the aftermath of those things. (Though I often, especially on longer fics, aim toward a resolution - or at least sense - of healing and growth from said trauma, grief, violence, etc. So, while I often write very dark and even bleak content, I wouldn’t necessarily call it even grimdark, per se. Hope is important for me in my writing, even in the darkest of moments.)
If you have an answer to either of those questions, please do reply or reblog or message me. Thanks!
