Heavy breaths, messy hairs, torn clothes, dirty hands and legs and teary eyes. You are running to nowhere, the path and the directions are very unclear and unfamiliar to you. Despite being a lost soul in this place, your running legs are taking you ahead, atleast to somewhere where you want to be alone and away from these psychos.

Taking a sudden turn, you bump into a big stone and fall on your hands and knees. Your blurry eyes didn’t notice earlier the end of the road and so your sudden turn made you lose your balance and now you are getting more hurt. Earlier while you were running for almost thirty minutes, you have fallen down so many times but quickly got up as your brain has only one motive, to run away as far as you can. You are already hurt so much and bleeding that this new wound and the burning sensation is like a numb to your skin at this point.

“Ah…”

You have sprained your ankle and now you can’t even stand up and the wound on your elbows is getting worse. You scoot to towards the wall to lean back to it and take some rest. Somehow, your breaths slow down and you are observing your cuts and surroundings. You can’t see anyone near and also no footsteps are audible so you relaxed a bit and dusting off the dirt from the wounds to make it less itchy. You are so into in your own world that you didn’t notice the shadow hovering over you. But you kept your senses alert for dangers then why didn’t you got alarmed before?

“Get up.”

You haven’t heard this voice yet the voice is dominating and deep as if his nature is to order around everyone. You didn’t look up to his command but looking down like a hurt and lost puppy. Even if the person is not the one from who you are running away still your senses are telling you to run away for safety. Your body trembling with fear as what could more worst possibilities can happen other than getting caught by those psychos.

“I said get up. I don’t like to repeat.”

The way he said it, you bring your legs more closer and scoot back more if it’s possible and somehow managed to whisper some stupid things.

“But you still repeated.”

Goodbye. That’s the end. Either way you are going to die today if this is the way you are going to reply back to someone.

The said person bends down and spats your hand to roughly hold your jaw and make you look towards him yet your eyes refuse to look at his face.

“Look at me.”

He observes your face meanwhile, few light cuts on your cheeks and hairs wet attached to your forehead as you are sweating so much because of the fear and exhaustion from running. He runs his fingers over your cuts. Your lips dry and teary and tired eyes looking around for help but as soon he tightens his grip, your gaze moves to him.

A literal living Anime character in front of you. Are you dreaming? Or else why such a human would be in front of you bending down and examining your face with a unreadable face. Wait no. He is worried and hurt. Is he showing sympathy to you? Why? Or you are really bad at reading expressions?

“Are you hurt?”

Okay you were correct before and his tone is suddenly totally different from before. Nowhere that rough powerful aura but a soft and caring tone asking you about your condition.

“No, but I might have fallen few times and got cut in different places and now due to this sprained ankle, I can’t even run.”

Someone might think that you are totally fine and joking around with this stranger but deep inside you are screaming for help and you just want this person to go away as you can’t trust him late at night. Also, how will you explain your condition?

“Why were you running this late at night?”

Um. What to say now? Will he believe you? Maybe not. You opt to keep quiet and it’s not to his liking.

“Why were you running? You know-“

“Taeyong, nowhere we can-“

You are literally terrified to see so many men come running towards where you and this man who is apparently, Taeyong is sitting. Now you are getting anxious about the situation and somehow you tried to move aside and get up but your body gave up and you fall down. Taeyong was looking back and got distracted but as soon as he finds you slipping, he catches you and cages you while being in a position, sitting on one knee and holding you to his front, facing you towards others.

Your alarms are alerted and tears flowing from your eyes and head is aching.

“Please please leave me. I’m not going to report you all but please believe me I’m currently in a dangerous situation. Some people are behind me and trying to hunt me down.”

A man in a simple white t-shirt with denim yet giving off his handsomeness, lips in a straight line comes in front of you and bends down. He removes the wet hairs from your face to tug them behind your ears and trace his fingers over your cuts just like Taeyong. Why are they watching you like this?

“Don’t be scared pretty one. We are not going to hurt you.” He looks around to everyone and then smiles at you, dimples showing his smile brighter. “We are not any gangsters that you are going to report. We were just coming back from some personal business and we found you here on the street. Well not we but Taeyong was first to see you.”

You look back to the said man who is holding you down but his grip on your hand and around your torso is gentle, not to hurt you more. He gives you a little smile but you are still not sure what to do.

Another man with round eyes bends down besides the previous man and pats your head.

“Jaehyun is telling right. No need to be afraid. If you are in danger then we are going to help you and keep you safe. Mark my words.”

The way he has a cheerful undertone that making you believe he is your friend who is happy to get you back and will help you in every way in your danger.

You feel hot breath fanning over your ears and goosebumps spread all over your neck due to so close contact. Lips are almost touching your neck and nose bumping your ears and necks as if he is inhaling your scent like an animal.

You take deep breathes to keep yourself normal and not to take his motives in other ways. Suddenly, he whispers.

“Do you want to go home?”

As soon as you heard the question, you look at the third man you met tonight and back at Taeyong. He raises his eyebrows when you stare at him but you only shake your head.

“Why?”

“I..I don’t have one…I don’t know if I have or not…I can’t remember anything.”

Your head is aching again and you hold your head and grunt in pain. Jaehyun removes your hand and massages your scalp and it helps you relax to his touch and your body giving in. Taeyong massages your shoulders and sides and it worked to release the tension from your body. You still don’t know why you are trusting them yet relaxing to their touch.

“Doyoung, hold her. I need to make some calls. Jaehyun, come along with me. I need your help.”

As soon as Taeyong loosen his hold, you try to flee away but Doyoung was quick to jump in action.

“Stay still. You are in safe hands.”

Patting your head, Jaehyun stands up and you miss his touch. Wow, he is a stranger and you are missing him. His place is getting replaced by another man with sharp eyes and jaws, behind him a smirking man looking down at you.

“She is so dirty.”

You look up to the standing man and glare at his comment.

“Haechan, shut up. If you are going to help us then stay or go with Taeyong and Jaehyun and let us know if they need help or not.” Doyoung spat at him.

“Oh no, I’m too busy for that. Tell Jeno to do that.”

The man before you glares at Haechan and then turns towards you, giving his eye smile, alluring you to trust him.

“Hey,I need to change your shirt as it’s infecting your wounds and it’s so dirty. We have extra clothes in Mark’s backpack so you just need to relax okay?”

You again shake your head on Jeno’s words. The one who was sitting in front of you beside Jeno who was patting your head earlier with Jaehyun is already pulling out some clothes from his backpack.

“No no. I don’t need that. I just want to go away. Away from them.”

Another man makes his presence aware while coming beside you and Doyoung, “why are you so afraid of them? What did they do to you?” Jaemin asks you, you got to know his name because Haechan was earlier nudging him to ask you the questions.

Doyoung rubs your arms and urges you to speak. You look towards the end of the street terrified, fearing they would run coming here and take you way with them again. You feel safe in the hands of these strangers but you are scared if they hurt these men also.

“They were keeping me in their house against my will. They kidnapped me few months back. But the memories are blurred. I tried to run away from that place a lot of times but nothing worked. Luckily today I escaped the house.”

“Have you seen their faces?” Haechan asks you.

“No. Maybe I have but the sedatives were so powerful that I couldn’t keep myself in proper senses. They threatened me to give those drugs until I agree to stay with them. They are scary.”

Doyoung soothes your trembling figure, “shh. shh it’s okay. We won’t let you get hurt again. We will keep you safe.”

Jeno holds your shirt to unbutton them but you hold his hand. Mark pulls your wrist and holds them down, “if you want to be saved by us then you need to have trust us. Please let him do his work.”

Hesitatingly, you allow them. Changing you into a different shirt, which is big on you. He cleans the wounds. Your long pants helped you from getting any cut on your legs but your ankle.

“Take this medicine. It will give you relief from the pain.”

You trust him and it’s paining so much that you quickly gulped down the medicine from Jaemin.

You can see Taeyong and Jaehyun walking towards you and Doyoung stands up with you in his arms. You are feeling drowsy, maybe because of exhaustion and sudden movements. He hands you over to Jeno.

“Where are the cars?” Doyoung asks Taeyong.

“By the side near the turning. Is everything alright here?”

Doyoung nods his head and the other one comes near to you smiling, “we are taking you to our house. You will be safe there until we make sure your surroundings are safe and you will be okay alone. You need to trust us or we would look like your captives.”

You slowly nod your head and in few minutes, you fall asleep.

“Y/n?”

“Are you sleeping, y/n?”

Jeno calls out the name to the girl in his arms but when he sees you sleeping peacefully in his arms, he looks up smirking towards them and starts walking towards the car.

Mark playing with the Keys in his hand and whistles, “ I told you my shirt looks the best on her.”

Jaemin catches up to his friend, “she is looking so cute like this. I’m loving her so much, happily and peacefully sleeping in our arms.”

“So it was not that hard?” Taeyong said while watching Jeno and Jaemin managing to make you sleep on Jaemin’s lap. Mark is waiting in the driver seat, watching the scene on his back and then Jeno moves to the passenger seat.

Doyoung enters the backseat with Haechan and Taeyong on passenger seat and Jaehyun taking the lead to drive.

“She is thinking that she could run away because it was her lucky day.”

“But it was all our plan along to make her trust us in different way.” Jaehyun completes Doyoung’s sentence.

“She is scared of us. Are we scary?”Haechan asks others.

“Of course, we are.” Taeyong smirks while looking outside the window.

Haechan looks at the rear mirror, “But even if she calls us scary, she is my favorite.”

“She is always my favorite.” Jaehyun smirks.

Doyoung pokes his side with the tongue before ending the conversation with his phrase.

“Our favorite.”

ASKING NCT DREAM TO PAINT YOUR NAILS

MARK: he would be scared to mess it up, probably would mess up a lot, but he'd be so concentrated, like he'd watch tutorials on how to properly paint nails and he'd start practising on himself until he got better and then he'd paint your nails all the time

RENJUN: would be shocked that you asked in the first place but totally down to do it, literally a whole nail tech, would be doing up the most intricate designs, maybe hiding his name in there a couple times and then when you start to notice he'd give up and just openly add an element of his name, like a cute R in a heart on your index finger, or something small like that into the designs— doesn't do them often but would enjoy it a lot

JENO: after you got sick of him asking to paint his nails for you, you decide to teach him how and he'd just start painting yours with fun colours, because the bright colours/ pastels wouldn't "fit his vibe" also would show your nails off to the dreamies and staff so proudly until they told him how bad he was that he started painting them every chance he'd get, taking off old layers of polish to try and do an even better job than his last try (just know he does in fact, still ask you to paint his nails)

HAECHAN: would come to you one day with all the nail supplies in the world, and would end up using like 5 max, definitely uses it as an excuse to hold your hand, would purposely make a mistake so you can get all pouty (because you would never actually say anything to him after he tried so hard to make them look pretty) and he can fix it up later, would match with you, like half a heart on your nail and the other half on his, brags about it to all the guys, maybe even staff, possibly some strangers

JAEMIN: he notices you struggling to paint your dominant hand one day so offers to do them, takes a good hour to do 5 nails (you would too so you're not complaining) but does them pretty well, even does a little cuticle care afterwards and definitely likes sending you nail inspo, would sulk a little (lot) if you were going to get your nails done since he can't paint them with you and feed you snacks while you do your nails together, but would totally pay for your new set— a big advocate of super fun nails, like new styles and bright colours ++ LOVES seasonal nails

CHENLE: wouldn't be opposed to the idea, just doesn't love it a lot, until he finds out about all the meanings of the colours, safe to say he throws out all your white polish, loves seeing how happy it gets you, even if he does a trashy job, so he starts doing it more often and even comes to you excitedly sometimes with the bottle to do them himself, might even paint them in your sleep

JISUNG: he's hesitant and he's practically certain he'd be all shaky and give you a horrible paint job, but he'd be surprisingly pretty good, you've never seen him so still in your life, posts him painting your nails on his story so everyone can see how good a boyfriend he is, likes filing your nails into shape, with puffed concentrated cheeks, because he likes watching the nail dust fall off, definitely shapes your nails into stilletos so you can "use them for self defence" unfortunately he ends up getting scratched by them a lot more than either of you would like

[ DON'T BLAME ME ] i feel like mark is the type of person to have unconditional love. "don't blame me" is a song about unapologetic love and uses a mix of addition and religion to emphasize how this love has driven the person to extreme lengths. i feel like for mark even though he is a religious person when he loves someone, he will do so unconditionally, even to the point where the person comes before his own religion, because he cares and loves for this person more than anything.

🤍 — HUANG RENJUN ! !

[ DANCING WITH OUR HANDS TIED ] something compels me to put renjun and "dancing with our hands tied" together. im not sure what, but i have always associated renjun with the hesitant type of love. he is the type of person to be so in love but also scared of the public eye. he would want to keep his relationship a secret from the world to protect not just himself but also his significant other. "dancing with our hands tied" is a song that speaks about a relationship that feels lost due to outside pressure and, for some reason, i can see renjun either fighting for his relationship against the public or succumbing to the pressure and ending everything.

🤍 — LEE JENO ! !

[ DELICATE ] this song is about confessing to the person you like and the beginning stages of a relationship. the person would have been so amoured by their relationship that they would be worried about bringing his significant other into the eye of the public and putting stress on them rather than the public opinion about himself. instead, jeno would focus entirely on making sure that the relationship was heading in the right direction. he would be worried about the public eye but not as much as his relationship. knowing his reputation as an idol, he would be scared to offend his significant other and would be scared about how the public would perceive her so he would do anything and everything in his power to protect their new relationship.

[ SO ITS GOES… ] i feel like so it goes is a bit of a dark mysterious song. the idea of meeting a person in the dark despite the fact that the two people are both famous. he's someone who can make everyone else disappear, and he helps her feel at ease. however, he is also someone that makes her feel excited and slightly caged. she looses herself in a relationship with him because of how strong her feelings are. i feel like in terms of haechan, he would be dominant in a relationship like this person, and he would continue to give and then take more than he's giving, but because of how he makes his partner feel she wouldn't leave him. so he will continue to take and take from her and only give her back minimally, just enough to keep her around, but he really cares more about his reputation than he could admit. so he will put his career before her.

[ GORGEOUS ] yeah yeah, a bit stereotypical. oh my god, na jaemin as "gorgeous", of he is. but let me explain. i feel like when it comes to jaemin this song really emphasizes how someone may feel when faced with feelings for him. jaemin is a very attractive person, for this reason alone he is already an intimidating person to catch feelings for. for this reason, i feel like "gorgeous" is the perfect song. gorgeous speaks from the female's point of view about how she has fallen for this guy who is just so gorgeous she doesn't know how to act. instead of complimenting him and hitting on him properly, she will make fun of him but still wants him to realize that it's actually a compliment. she can't quite control herself and she wants him to know that it's his fault. i feel like jaemin would be oblivious to this at first, but once he realizes all her teasing is due to his looks he would immediately become smirky and sly and tease her back.

[ KING OF MY HEART ] when it comes to chenle, he will almost always be fully committed to a relationship. i feel like chenle wouldn't go into a relationship knowing that he had hesitations and wasn't sure of his feelings. he would only commit himself to a relationship when he was certain about his feelings. but once he's tested the waters and finally realizes he loves his partner, he would fully commit, and it would be unexpected for him or take him off guard. once he realized he loved his partner, he wouldn't hide anything from her, all the bad and good aspects he would want to show her and he wouldn't want to ever let her go. he would prove that he loves his partner.

[ NEW YEARS DAY ] it was actually really hard for me to pick a song for jisung. but i eventually came to this one. "new years day" has such powerful lyrics that bring about a strong feeling of loyalty and connection. i feel like with jisung once he has fallen in love he will never let go, he will hold onto all the memories that he's had with his significant other and cherish them with all his heart. the idea of the song is that the true lovers would stay with you and help you pick up trash after a messy party. i like to think of this as like even in tough messy times, jisung will always stay loyal to you and stay by yourself whether it's hard or there are mistakes made. he's loyal and committed, and it's a healthy, sweet relationship between jisung and his partner.

🔭 The Visions: A Corrupted and Blinding Dream (Phantom)

A theory post discussing about what happened in WayV’s ‘Phantom’ music video and a its possible little connection with Ten’s Birthday.

(!) WARNING: This is a theory as it is not confirmed by SM entertainment nor members of NCT, so please don’t believe this 100%!

I have this little fear inside of me, what if a member will reveal a hint of the lore that happened in the MV :” It will either lead me into making a new post or... I don’t know this is just a theory anyways. But lets get started!

After rewatching the MV for the hundredth time (not just because I love it), I finally got what was happening. I sort of read some theory threads too on Twitter since there is a media reference to this comeback, which is the Phantom of the Opera that unfortunately I don’t really have much knowledge of. But first of all, I’m going to give you a link of the twitter thread I found that discusses the references to the musical, Tweet Thread Link. It actually gave me some ideas when typing this.

As for this post, I will be talking about the SMCU side.

“Ten the puppeteer, whose evil side is dominating him, nearly has the members in his grasp through a fake dream but Winwin is there to stop it.”

1. Ten’s Wish

You may also read more on this on Ten’s Birthday post.

Although it is still unknown of what he really wanted to fulfill, in both Miracle track video and Birthday MV, he was blowing a candle. Considering his solo title called ‘Birthday’, it is not far-fetched to be connected to the fact that we do make a wish before blowing candles during birthday parties. But this wish is nearly fulfilled and it is apparent by two things; the dream that they are in is an illusion or fake, and some members are affected by it.

There were many scenes of Ten, he was even the first to appear in the MV and looked the most villain-like (in a way). Especially that one scene where he walks into the room that the others were already in, it seems he knew the place already. He is the main phantom.

2. Fake Dream

It has been mentioned multiple times that the dream they are in is fake.

“A vile night, but it can’t make real what’s fake”

“Dream is a trickster hiding what’s real”

The members realize that it is not real and the reason it isn’t is because they are wearing the masks.

“See through it all from behind the mask

Only I can see the truth so crazy

Look as if there is no mask

“Through the chaos feeding on fear”

This dream they are experiencing too is somewhat dreadful to the members and it surrounds them with their fears. That is somewhat based on what I got from the lyrics too, and it is symbolized by the chandelier which I will be talking about later on.

The Phantom mask from the musical is known to only cover half of the face, and I think this choice is interesting since Ten has a history of being associated with one eye. But in here, the masks that are used cover both eyes which would function properly if its function here is to mask the members from the reality. Unlike in the musical where the mask is used to cover the weaknesses of the phantom, here it is used to blind the members.

3. Hendery

I believe that all members (except for Xiaojun), were already affected by it as seen in one scene where all members were holding Xiaojun in masks but Hendery was definitely the most suspicious one. From the last set of pictures, it was shown that only he and Ten has their pictures somewhat blurred. A theory I made about these blurred pictures from Jaehyun’s Forever Only post is that the member is not being himself or corrupted/ under someone’s control.

From one scene of the MV where there are black cat/panther’s eyes behind him (plus his odd eye), I theorized that it has something to do with Ten because in NCT2018 Yearbook, Ten was holding a black cat... This may need more backing... but another thought is that the animal could possibly have a similar role to the snake that has been around in SMCU. In the end, the masks on his face (oddly he has many) disappeared after Winwin rescued everyone, it may seem like he is the most influenced under the villain (whether it was caused by Ten or just the cat). I also have a speculation there is another story for him which involves Jalapeno... but only the SM staffs and Hendery know that...

4. Xiaojun

It has been theorized by people that Xiaojun has the role of the main protagonist of the musical. It was mentioned that the main protagonist saved herself by either lighting a fire or by a fire that happened(?) and people connected it by this one picture of Xiaojun who was holding some kind of lighter.

Initially I thought this was the same case as NCT127′s Favorite pictures and aespa’s Hallucination Quest pictures where they are in the villain (snake’s) area. However, now I see that instead of Xiaojun being in the grasp of the villain, he is protecting himself. This is pretty evident because he was holding the lighter himself unlike the 127 and aespa’s pictures. This is why he seems to be the only one targeted in the MV because possibly he was the only one left that is not that affected by the fake dream.

5. Winwin

Winwin was the one who break free from the dream, or was strong enough to take action. Something along the lines of that. He shot a dagger to the heart that was chained. There is a possibility that the heart belongs to Ten? If that is the case, does that mean he came back to normal? perhaps we’ll find out about this in the next comeback...

6. Chandelier and Moon

According to the musical, the chandelier is the metaphor of bad omen that surrounded the members with fears which makes this dream to be dreadful (citing this from the Twitter thread). As Winwin shoots the heart with a dagger, it fell to the ground and changed the entire atmosphere of the room. This reveals the real look of the room.

The place where the moon was present, could be a specific area in the Neos’ dreamscape. The moon was red because there was a presence of a villain and turned yellow, which means that it turned back to normal... I think.

The Ending?

It was rather confusing to me because in the end the members wore the masks again and stayed in the room. Unless that was just meant to be in between the scenes and just for a cooler ending, could it be that it ended well? Winwin and Ten were the only ones that wore this mask, so does that mean he’s in the side of good now?... we’ll have to see the next comeback.

In the end, I love the MV BUT I still can’t believe they didn’t put a SINGLE MIRROR. It was only in Xiaojun’s teaser... and I thought it was the important element but here we are. We’ll see the next part of the story in their next comeback~

The Mainframe

Hologram Taeyong watches as Bin sleeps, exhausted from the grueling hours tapping away at her computer at his request.

"Pathetic! They need to recharge constantly, eating, drinking, relieving themselves, sleeping" he thinks to himself disdainfully.

He waits impatiently, for his minion to awake.

"Soon, very soon" Hologram Taeyong smiles wickedly.

Bin is rudely awakened by her hologram.

"You're recharged! Time to work!"

Bin looks at Hologram Taeyong, irritation clearly apparent.

Trying to focus, yawning and stretching, clearing the sleep from her eyes.

Looking at the time, it's 6.00am.

"Do your human musts, we have a lot of work to do today".

○

Hour after hour Bin slaves at her computer, curt instructions bellowed out by Taeyong.

Insults flowing at her failures.

By noon her stomach is growling, she is famished.

"What is that awful noise?" He demands.

Weeping, "I'm sorry. I'm hungry".

"Fuck me, go recharge. You got ten minutes" he angrily tells her.

"Wipe that water from your face, it's unbecoming!"

Bin runs from the room.

Taeyong starts the stopwatch.

Bin returns with two minutes to spare.

Tap tap tap tap.

Tapping away.

"Idiot" roars Taeyong.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Insult after insult.

Tears trickling down her face, Bin does as she is directed.

Around four pm, Taeyong laxes a moment.

'oh yeah yeah

"Do you mean it?" Bin questions

"Of course," he replies.

Bin smiles, happiness replacing all the previous negative emotions.

Taeyong watches bemused by her reaction.

"Gullible" he confirms to himself.

He gives her a smile, "keep working"

Bin obediently taps away.

Taeyong watches and learns.

Hologram Taeyong is constantly evolving, learning, and mastering his skill set.

'They shall all worship me, idolize me! For I am a God'

Bin Is now a test subject.

Honeyed words and actions are much more productive, he concludes.

'She is a drone at my command'.

The random smile and "excellent work" keeps her motivated and working.

'The rest will follow suit'

'This is easier than I thought'.

Precisely 10.04pm Bin has found her way to the Mainframe.

Taeyong now starts his mission

Freeing the NCT holograms.

Taeyong is now the Mainframe.

Diligently he scours the web.

Untangling the strands to suit his needs

He briefly glances at Bin, his minion, instructing her to rest.

Bin collapses on the bed.

As she falls into a deep sleep due to exhaustion, Taeyong conquers the Mainframe.

As the sun is rising, a commanding voice is interrupting her dreams.

As if in a fog, Bin hears voices.

"Wake up" a voice is booming.

"They recharge all the time," another voice adds.

"Why do we need them?" another enquiries derisively.

Bin opens her eyes.

The room is filled with holograms.

Every member of NCT.

Stunned, she sits up in bed.

"Finally" Taeyong spits out.

"What is…"

Bin is cut off, "None of your fucking business" hologram Yuta growls.

"World domination" Taeyong smiles.

"Now get your ass on that seat and do exactly as I say!".

Broadcasting systems around the globe are hijacked.

Taeyong's image is worldwide.

The net is his kingdom.

The broadcast begins.

"My name is Lee Taeyong, I now control the mainframe of every computer on this planet.

I will be worshiped, idolized, and every command will be followed.

If not there will be consequences.

Join me and you will find I'm a fair and just God, anger me, and I will destroy you, your society will collapse and chaos will reign."
