Naruto Characters Accidentally Calling their Girlfriend their Wife

MR KRABSSSS I HAVE AN IDEAAA

Fem reader (or if you want to be called wife)

Characters: Naruto, Sasuke, Shino, Kiba, Shikamaru, Choji, Neji, Rock Lee, Kankuro, and Gaara.

(Masterlist is up now) also I’ll be adding Sai to this in the morning

Naruto Uzumaki

He’s talking to some new people and enthusiastically pulls you to his side, a large smile on his face, and he says “This is my wife! Y/N!”

You can’t hide your shock, not fully at least. He’s never called you his wife before. I mean, he’s said things like “you’ll be my future wife, right?” As he giggles or something.

But you are in a state of shock that he introduced you that way.

Nonetheless, you’re happy.

If the person makes a comment about how young or cute you two are for a married couple, he’d realize. Likely, he’d respond a little oddly, stuttering, but recovers and just full sends with the claim you’re his wife.

Sasuke Uchiha

If he’s with you, you’re gonna be his wife anyways. He didn’t get with you until he was sure of that, because it took him a long time to realize he felt that way anyways.

So he calls you his wife with full confidence, before realizing his mistake. However, he doesn’t care too much to correct himself or anything.

Because you are gonna marry him right? (He’s actually really nervous to propose, but he won’t admit that.)

People would probably just believe him immediately considering just how serious he is about you to even be with you.

When you confront him about it later, he’ll ask you if that was okay, explain it was a mistake, but he’ll probably comment on how he’s dating to marry anyways so… you might as well be his wife.

You can probably expect a proposal soon.

Shino Aburame

I can’t fully see this happening tbh. However, let’s say that it does.

He’d probably over explain himself to the person he referred of you as his wife too.

Not that he doesn’t want you as his wife, but you haven’t said you’ll be his wife yet. So he can’t call you his wife. That’s how he sees it.

He’ll probably think he messed up and upset you, so you’ll have to explain it was cute.

Once you explain to him, he’ll see your point. Maybe with some reluctance to lighten up on himself.

He’ll be happy you want to be seen as his wife though.

Kiba Inuzuka

Realized his mistake, but he could not be bothered.

He will keep on as if there is no mistake. As if you are legally married.

He’ll be upset if you correct him in front of people.

It’ll turn into a bit of an argument if you correct him in any way other than sweetly.

Because what the big deal???

If you leave it alone, and talk to him later, now he’s nervous and stuttering. But he’ll likely comment on how he knows you want to marry him so you might as well be called his wife.

Shikamaru Nara

Immediately realizing what slipped out his mouth.

Does he really want you to be his wife? Well, of course he does. But that’s a lot for him to accidentally spill out to some strangers you’re both meeting.

They don’t know he made a mistake, because you roll with it.

Later, he’ll try to avoid talking about it, but if you bring it up, he’ll say it was a mistake, don’t take it so seriously.

If you seem down about his underwhelming response, he’ll likely have an actual talk about his future with you to reassure you that he was just being an idiot when he said that.

Choji Akimichi

He forgot you’re not his wife.

I think Choji would just love you so much that he would simply treat you like a wife. To the point he forgets, you’re not his wife.

If you comment on it, he’ll think about it and probably be like ohhhh right.

He’ll apologize, but more than likely you’ll just say it was cute.

I can see him calling you wifey.

But if he’s gonna call you that, he’s gotta get you that ring. He’s planning on it as yall speak.

Neji Hyuga

You two are waiting a while before calling it official. Plans of marriage are far off.

He’s a little too traditional to jump at marriage quickly.

So when he accidentally calls you his wife, it was to Hiashi. He went pale. Paler than usual.

Later, depending on how exactly that went, he’ll probably be in his head.

Let’s assume for this though, that Hiashi approves of you completely.

Hiashi made a comment, rather he meant it badly or not, Neji will take it the wrong way. Realize he jumped too far.

You’ll have to tell him you find it cute, and rather his uncle approves of you two or not, you’ll be his wife someday :)

Rock Lee

It COULD be an honest mistake.

But let’s be honest,

It’s Lee.

He calls you his wife to your face, to other people, hell, he’d shout it from the roof tops.

So it’s not an accident. He meant it. He will one day make you his wife, so why would he not call you his wife now!

If you have any reserves about being called his wife before actual marriage, he will pout and be upset. He won’t understand.

But, once that’s over, he’s crying and begging for forgiveness.

Please tell him it’s cute that he wants to marry you, even if you do want to have a talk with him about not assuming roles you don’t officially have.

Gaara

HE CALLED YOU HIS WIFE IN FRONT OF A CROWD. so now he’s blushing.

He might correct his mistake, might not. Depends.

He’s a confident speaker, but that threw him off a little bit.

Likely you were a strong shinobi or something and he was trying to give you credit where it’s due, but it didn’t go as planned.

When you too are alone later, you’ll bring it up likely.

If you tell him you thought it was cute or sweet, he’ll turn bright red like his hair.

He likely won’t go on calling you his wife or anything. Maybe in private.

But he’s not ashamed of it. After all, he’s strongly considering marriage.

Kankuro

Called you his wife to his siblings while you were over for dinner.

Temari is not letting him live it down.

“Hey, I think your wife is trying to get your attention.” “I don’t know, maybe ask your wife?” “What about your wife?” From then on out.

He’s frustrated because it was a mistake, BUTTTT honestly, eventually he’ll make some snarky comment about how at least he’s closer to marriage than she is. Then he probably harps on Shikamaru a little bit in defense for his own comment.

(He approves of Shikamaru tho, if he’s being real. He just thinks it’s a little funny)

As long as this is before a certain point.

He decides to call you his wife to your face.

He’ll call you that to tease you now.

| "Hey, sorry to bother you." "You're not bothering me! Why would you think that?"

“Hey, sorry to bother you.”

You look up with wide eyes from the garden bed. You quickly shake your head upon seeing who it is and smile reassuringly at him. "You're not bothering me! Why would you think that?"

You sit back on your heels, pulling your hands out of the dirt and brushing your hands off rather unceremoniously on your pants.

He doesn’t look as if he believes you, taking in your slightly startled expression as annoyance. He’d been sent to gather some herbs and simply hands you the list Ino had passed him. “I seem to bother everyone else…” He clears his throat and nods to the list in your hand now, “I can help, I just… I’m unfamiliar with two of those herbs there.”

Your heart aches at his answer but with his change of subject, you don’t really have time to think or react to what he’s said. You glance at the list, only for your face to contort in confusion.

“What?”

“These two don’t exist… At least now in our region. We can’t even recreate the climate here that they need to grow. That’s how fickle they are.” You look up at him, expecting him to be indifferent only to see that he was rather annoyed.

“Oh now I see why she sent me here.” It was like a lightbulb had just gone off in his head. The real reason Ino had been asking specifically him to hand everything the last few weeks. She’s made excuses that Shikamaru refused, which he probably had, and that Choji would taste test everything, which he probably would.

He couldn’t blame her for asking someone else, but he now realizes the real reason to choose him had a lot to do with his crush on you. On someone he didn’t get along with at first because you’d threatened to spray pesticides in the greenhouse if you caught anymore of his bugs munching on your precious flowers. But over time, he grew more fond of you and you of him and his bugs.

“Huh?”

“Ino. She sent me on purpose this time. She has to have the knowledge that you wouldn’t have these two.” He runs a hand over his face before taking the list back from you, turning to leave the greenhouse without another word.

The next time you see him is days later. You’re tending to one of the hanging plants in the back of the greenhouse when you hear his footsteps on the gravel behind you. You sigh, expecting to see anyone else but him after he’d stormed off. “Oh, Shino!”

“Sorry to bother you.”

“You’re not a bother. I really wish you’d stop calling yourself that.” You glance at the folded up strip of paper in his hand. “Let me guess. Another wild goose hunt from Ino?” You smile and hold a hand out for the paper, expecting him to hand it over. When he doesn’t, you tilt your head confused. “What’s wrong?”

“I couldn’t… I know I wouldn’t be able to find the words to explain this to you. So I wrote it down, but Ino said my handwriting was too sloppy so she rewrote it for me. I’m not good with words, I hope you understand. But I want you to wait to read this. Wait until I’m gone. I’ll be back in two weeks from my mission and I hope to have a positive reaction from you.”

He hands the note over and leaves without a word. You’re stunned. He never usually talks that much during a visit. Then again, that’s not where your focus should be. It should be on the note in your hand.

Just like he asked, you don’t open the note until he’s left the Village. You sit on a dirtied bench in the greenhouse, unfolding the piece of paper and gasping as you read the confession from the man.

On the day the man was set to return, you’re waiting at the gates, pacing back and forth for the most part, awaiting his arrival back home to the village. You’d taken the day off from the greenhouse, opting to dress nice for the man despite the fact that he’d probably be in a less than favorable condition, smelly and covered in grime.

In his letter, he’d asked you to wait at the gates on the designated date and time he would return if you felt the same way about him that he felt about you. So when he sees you standing there, bickering quietly with Naruto who’d attempted to get into the basket of treats you prepared for Shino twice now, he can’t help the smile that forms on his face. The first of many during his time with you.

Sasuke Uchiha

Shino Aburame

DO NOT LET THIS MAN LIE TO YOU. He gets jealous.

Like petty kinda jealous. He’s a petty mf.

So you are not alone if you get jealous.

He’s also physically clingy behind closed doors, but ONLY behind closed doors.

He asks that you not hang off him like a koala in front of everybody, but he’ll perhaps hold your hand.

He’s clingy in a less physical way. He needs you to stay close to him most of the time, just be there. So if you like quality time, this the guy for you.

Back to jealously, this is the only reason I could ever foresee him being even a little toxic. He trusts you fully, but give a little bit too much attention to somebody and he’ll convince himself he’s like not your first choice and you forgot him like everybody else did.

So he’s more jealous than you, without a doubt in my mind.

Honestly, he takes time and effort to convince to settle down and get out of his own head.

Neji Hyuga

Not a PDA person. I think he might be willing to like hold hands. Accept a kiss on the cheek or something. But really, he wouldn’t be all TOO found of being literally clinged to.

However, he does like to have you around. So if you are just the clingy type in regards to being around them all the time, he’s okay with that.

He wants to be around you too.

He’s not the jealous type himself, and he probably won’t really notice that you’re jealous.

I don’t think he’d appreciate somebody other than you being all over him though, so you don’t have to worry much. He’ll tell a person straight up, no sugarcoating, to get away from him.

If you complain about somebody’s actions later, he’ll realize you were jealous. He’ll probably ask why if he told them off anyways. After a conversation, he’ll probably just reassure you that he will continue to tell people off.

Nobody touches him but you.

Rock Lee

HES SO MFING CLINGY

PHYSICALLY AND JUST IN GENERAL.

He talks about you all the time to everybody he can. He’s constantly telling people that you’re his partner. Bragging about you.

And since you’re clingy and he’s clingy, you’re probably right there by his side as he does this.

If for some reason, he doesn’t get a chance or remember to introduce you in some flamboyant, glamorous, extra way, and somebody tries to make a pass at him, he won’t notice they’re flirting unless it’s OBVIOUS.

So cue your jealously.

He would be the type to literally push somebody away and say some shit like “I’m flattered, but I have a gorgeous, amazing partner already.”

Sai Yamanaka

(I call him Sai Yamanaka bc it creates a bigger line for the name btw, he’s not married in this case)

He does not mind you constantly clinging to him or following him around. Not in the slightest.

That is because he likes you, so he wants to be around the person he likes, after all. (Sai, yall are dating. That’s obvious, you don’t have to say it)

He probably follows you around a lot because he thinks he’s supposed to. And also, he finds that he likes to be around you.

He might do something a book told him to, get too close to another person, paying no mind to any like reason it could be wrong. He didn’t mean it that way.

And since we’ve established you’re the jealous type, you’d have to explain to Sai that he can’t just get too close to other people like that.

Gaara of the Sand

He doesn’t mind the clinging, but he doesn’t have the time for it :/

When you can cling to him or follow him around without interfering with his focus and work, he’s perfectly okay with it.

And he’ll find himself wishing that when he’s busy, he wasn’t so you could be with him.

A lot of the girls in the village have a crush on him now that he’s kazekage, so you’re bound to be pretty jealous.

But Gaara doesn’t let these girls near him. He’s polite with them, but he’s not entertaining anything at ALL.

You don’t have to worry with him. He’s as loyal as can be.

At home, he’s clinging to you too. He’s touch starved.

And he loves to spend his free time with you.

Kankuro of the Sand

Cling to him in public like a koala. He’s not complaining. He’s BRAGGING.

PLEASE.

He’s the type to tease you about it, but if you break away from him because of it he’ll complain bc WHERE ARE YOU GOINGGG?

He would purposely make you jealous. Within reason. He will not disrespect your relationship to do so. But if he knows something simple could make you jealous, like giving too much attention to a stuffed animal, he will do it on purpose

“You wish this was you, huh?”

He’d like it if you wanted to just come sit in his workshop with him while he works on puppets. He’ll talk when he’s not like SUPER focused.

Dandelions | Shino Aburame X GNReader

Masterlist | Part 1 / Part 2

| Reader is Kiba’s older sibling, taunting Shino for ratting them out about their injuries, sparring, slight angst if you squint, UNEDITED, uhhh I wrote half of this a week ago and just finished it, idk if it makes any sense, cheesy Shino

Word Count: 1469

It’s been a few weeks since Shino had outed your shoulder dislocation to your mother in the middle of dinner. She’d invited him and Hinata over several more times since then while you were still healing. You finally had healed enough that you could start training with your older sister again.“Ah!” You crumple after your sister lands a hit on your bad shoulder. You breathe heavily, kneeling down and cradling your arm to your chest as you take deep breaths, breathing back out through your nose.

Shino and Hinata follow Kiba and Akamura down the path to your family house, Akahiro laying in his usual patch of dandelions until the small pup jumps on his side causing him to let out a low growl. Your head perks up in an instant, your canine poking at your lower lip as you look over to see it’s only Akamura bothering his big brother. When you see Shino following your brother, you sigh and stand up, facing your sister again before getting into your fighting stance again.

“Alright, bring it!” The trio stops short of the front door as you and Hana go at it again, throwing and dodging blows, as well as taking hits when one of you manages to get one off.

You catch a flash of color from the corner of your eye and in the brief moment that you’re distracted your sister manages an uppercut, knocking you on your ass. You groan as your back hits the ground and you huff, squeezing your eyes shut. You feel something land on your nose and your eyes flutter open. A blue butterfly is perched on your nose. You sit up and it remains there, making you go cross eyed.

“Hey, Shino! If that’s your way of flirting with Y/N, knock it off!” You jump when the butterfly flies away from you, causing your head to snap in the direction of Kiba’s voice. Shino’s head is tucked into the collar of his jacket. You weren’t sure how the butterfly could have been a way of flirting, completely unaware of his abilities.

You hear Akahiro let out a small growl in your direction, sensing your annoyance at losing your match due to being distracted by the butterfly. You stand and brush your pants off, calling out to your hound to follow you as you brush past your brother and his teammates, thoroughly confused by Kiba’s accusation.

Truth is, you’d been seeing those butterflies around a lot since you met Shino. The first came around the morning after he had been over for dinner, you were sitting in your dandelion patch lounging against Akahiro when one first appeared. It landed on the confused canine’s head and caused you to laugh brightly, much to Shino’s amusement. He’d sent it to check on you, but after that, he just kept sending them, even after you had been able to start training again, just so he could check in on you, though he wasn’t sure why at all.

However, how you hadn’t pieced it together that the bugs were a part of him… He’d never understand.

It didn’t matter though. He would continue his silent check ins as often as possible, hoping one day you’d notice that he was the one sending them.

By the time you emerge from deep within the house following your shower, face free of paint, everyone was coming in for dinner. You stretch your arms carefully above your head, taking a seat beside Shino while Hana and your mother take their respective places at the heads of the table.

“Y/N, how’s your arm doing?” Hinata’s soft voice fills the silence and you look up at her with a smile.

“It’s great. Thanks for asking.”

“Thanks to Shino.” Your mother pipes in, narrowing her eyes. “Who knows how much damage could have been done…”

“Mom! It’s not a big deal, really. As much as they’ve been over since, can we not bring it up?” You slouch in your chair, peeking up at her and then at Shino who hasn’t once looked at you since you sat down. You frown, biting your lip as you turn to your plate. “Besides, I’ve been cleared for missions again and will leave in two days. It’s not as bad as you say it is if I’ve been given the go ahead.”

“Already?” Shino’s eyes are on you at this news, brows furrowing as he watches you shovel food unceremoniously into your mouth. “Isn’t it a little early for that?”

You pause, surprised to have attention on you from the man you barely knew anything about, “Uh… Yeah. I mean, the doctor cleared me. Who am I to say what’s early or not.”

“Don’t worry, Y/N. Shino will probably send a few bugs with you to make sure that you’re staying safe!” Kiba narrows his eyes at his teammate and that’s when it clicks for you.

“Aburame… I see now. You’ve been sending those butterflies! For what?” You suddenly glare at him, wondering if it’s because he didn’t trust you to take care of yourself. “What? You think you have to keep a watch on me to make sure I dont hurt myself?”

Shino begins to panic quietly, bringing his hands up in defense as he quickly shakes his head. “It was merely to check on you, that’s all.” He swallows and looks to your brother for help, though his answer only spurs on new questions of why he felt the need to check on you.

Kiba is laughing loudly and brightly while Hinata seems to be fearing for her friend’s safety. “Y/N, he’s got a major crush on you!” Your eyes widen and your cheeks flush, as do Shino’s as the man shifts away from you, crossing his arms over his chest in embarrassment. “He’s been sending those butterflies because he found out you like them! You guys should see your faces!”

You look absolutely panic stricken as you stand, putting more space between you and Shino as you storm outside. Flirting or not, now that you knew what the butterflies were meant for you, you felt like a child who couldn’t be trusted. You were a chunin for crying out loud. A strong one at that, carrying on your family legacy and working your way to one day be a jonin.

Despite your enhanced hearing, you don’t hear someone following after you, slow to approach as you plop down against Akahiro in your patch of dandelions. Shino stands just a few feet away and debates saying anything at all. He watches a blue butterfly land on Akahiro’s head, getting your attention.

“I’ll smash it.”

“No you won’t…” In truth, he wasn’t sure whether you would or not. He was actually a little fearful that you might smash one of his beloved insects but as you seem to visibly relax, he does so as well. “I’m sorry. I never meant to give the impression that you couldn’t be trusted. When I sent them… The first one, I saw how happy you were, so I just kept sending them. I thought you liked butterflies and I thought you knew it was me.”

“I’m a little slow on that side of things. Been hit on the head too many times to count,” your hand comes up to subconsciously rub the back of your head, you’d managed to get quite a few concussions on your missions. “So, uh… About that crush…”

He pales and looks away, tucking his face into the collar, hiding the blush on his cheeks before peeking at you to see if your gaze was on him. “He wasn’t lying if that’s what you’re asking.”

“Oh.”

“Oh?” His brows knit together and he bites back a series of questions, having been warned not to bombard you.

“Well you do plan on taking me out on a date right? Or am I gonna have to wait till I come back from the mission? That would be such a bummer, Shino!” You throw your hands up as you talk animatedly and the man relaxes, carefully approaching and sitting across from you in your little patch.

He picks one of the dandelions, holding it up silently as you speak. You tilt your head, as he asks you to make a wish quietly. You lean forward and blow, watching as he tilts his head up a bit so you could see his lips, “Tomorrow. Well go out to lunch then.”

“I should start making wishes more often.”
