I just watched good omens season 1 and 2 again, and this is my takeaway:

Beelzebub “found something more important to them than choosing sides” (Gabriel) and the feeling was mutual. They chose each other and ran off to the stars to be together.

Crowley has long chosen Aziraphale over hell (and heaven). He has been on his own side for millennia. He is overflowing with love for him and does and would do anything for him. Aziraphale is more important to him than chooosing sides.

Aziraphale, however…does not feel the same way. Crowley is not more important to him than choosing sides. After everything, after EVERYTHING, he still chooses heaven over Crowley. I’m certain the reason they still hadn’t “got together” after Armageddon was because he rejected Crowleys advances. He didn’t even blink when Crowley mentioned living in his car. Why didn’t he invite the poor demon to live in his bookshop with him?? S2 Crowley is so obviously agitated and depressed and I’m sure it’s because of Aziraphales continued rejection of him, of them. He hardly smiles this entire season, every scene his face looks hurt and sad. My boy is DEPRESSED. This last and final rejection must have been so so crushing for Crowley, especially after just watching his former bosses run off together after only 3-4 interactions and finding love.

I also found Aziraphales comment of “he so enjoys rescuing me” really demeaning, he still thinks this is some game, a silly dance they play together, not acknowledging or realising Crowley constantly takes risks for him and saves him because he loves Aziraphale with every fibre of his being and would do anything for him. Unfortunately I don’t think the feeling is returned. Aziraphale may realise his colossal fuckup once he returns to heaven, or he may not. I have no idea what S3 will bring. But my heart is broken for Crowley who has suffered rejection after rejection after rejection after rejection from the angel he loves and sacrificed everything for and I don’t know how he can withstand that level of heartbreak. S3 I want to see Aziraphale grovelling, begging, demonstrating through countless actions that he loves and is CHOOSING Crowley, he needs to CHOOSE him regardless of the outcome of the second coming. Otherwise it’d be completely meaningless.

Ares saying he hates his own kids and the worst day of the year is when they visit him makes my heart break for Clarisse more. Clarisse fights so hard for scraps of her father’s attention and Ares sees her as just another nuisance. He doesn’t care about her unless she’s able to serve him. But Clarisse (like Annabeth) thinks she just has to work harder for him to love her. In her mind, it’s all her fault. Which is why she is so angry when little punk Percy strolls in at twelve years old, no training and unclaimed, and immediately defeats the minotaur. In three days hes already got the gods attention and his father claimed him. Of course she’s angry.
