I went to a permafrost exhibit and it was phenomenal!!! I got to smell permafrost and touch a fossil that was preserved in the last Ice Age’s permafrost!! I took so many notes (I can’t help it; it’s the writer in me) and had an absolute blast. Afterwards I bought a book about ice, so I really was feeling quite nerdy today. #permafrost #exhibit #museum #mor #museumoftherockies #underthearctic #museums #museumeducation #museumexhibition #museumexhibit #writers #writer #writingcommunity #montanaauthors #montana #bozeman #bozemanmontana (at Museum of the Rockies) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpSeR7uLG7A/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Reposted from @albertwatsonphotography Albert Watson photograph “Bucking Bronco, Calgary Stampede, Canada, 1978.” Albert has always devoted time to personal art projects during his half-century career, in between assignments for magazines, editorial shoots, ad campaigns, fashion stories, etc …. In 1978, Albert spent about two weeks at the Calgary Stampede, one of the world’s largest rodeos, taking hundreds of photos for his first major personal project. Some of the photos were featured at his first gallery exhibitions in 1979, and can now be seen at his retrospective “The Maestro” at the Hangaram Museum at the Seoul Arts Center in Korea, through March 31. @seoul_arts_center #seoulartscenter @ilove_sacmuseum #photographyexhibition #museumexhibition @mastersof.photography #mastersofphotography @albertwatson_seoul @calgarystampede @cs_rodeo #blackandwhitephotography #blackandwhitephoto #silvergelatin #calgarystampede #cowboy #rodeo#eugenelacroix1 @eugenelacroix1 #photography https://www.instagram.com/p/CmeDh_eociK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Loved seeing the new “Lives of the Gods: Divinity in Maya Art" at the Met. The exhibit is so well laid out showing how important Day and Night were as divinities and I find fascinating thr was so many cultures have such beautiful but different forms of hieroglyphics. .... #UnderGlassCollection #ShoeDaydreams #CuratedCloset #TheClosedDoorCollection #SophisticatedPrecious #met #metmuseum #LivesOfGods #ues #museumexhibition #exhibit #mayan #maya #uesnyc #newyorkcity @metmuseum @metancient @metmembers https://www.instagram.com/p/ClxNlWMuA8C/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Music at the Museum presents Matt Stone as Elvis
Come out to see Matt Stone performing as Elvis in the courtroom where Elvis Presley himself filmed his 1962 movie, “Follow That Dream.”
Music at the Museum presents Matt Stone as Elvis
Named by Elvis Presley Enterprises as one of the Top Ten Elvis Tribute Artists on the planet, audiences will be mesmerized by Matt’s authentic portrayal of the King in his prime: young, agile, and with the voice of a lion! With most fans being endlessly disappointed by cheesy Elvis impersonators diminishing the best-sellingsolo artist of all time into nothing more than a Halloween costume and a lip curl, this nationally-acclaimed concert is changing the game.Tickets are $25 per person and include after-hours access to the Old Courthouse Heritage Museumexhibits, appetizers, soft drinks, and open-table seating. Members of Citrus County Historical Society canpurchase up to 4 tickets at a discounted rate of $20. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the show starting at7:00 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit: www.cccourthouse.org/product/mattstoneThe Old Courthouse Heritage Museum is located at One Courthouse Square in Downtown Inverness andis open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Check out the new Elvis slideshow andthe temporary “Florida’s Got the Blues” display, which is on loan from Museum of Florida History. For more information, please call 352-341-6428.

This Fan Went to the Inaugural Ball, Washington, DC, 1861! See it in now, in-person, at our new exhibition!
Object description: Lady's Fan, collapsible, hand-held, Pink silk blades with ostrich feathers at tips; ivory handle and slats; Silver sequins throughout--1979.41 Gift of Dan deNoyelles
📸@doricearden
This fan belonged to Mrs. James Sheridan of 119th Street and Lennox Avenue, New York City. She attended the Inaugural Ball held for Abraham Lincoln in Washington, D.C., March 4, 1861, and she had this fan with her. Her son, Douglas Sheridan, married Mary Adelaide deNoyelles of Haverstraw. The fan was passed down through the family before being given to the Historical Society of Rockland County.
Today, several Inaugural balls may be held around the capital on Inauguration Day, but in 1861, only one was held. A large, temporary hall was built specifically for the ball.
This object, like many of the historic objects posted here, comes from the HSRC collection.
It is one of the many items on view now as part of our current exhibition “UNIQUELY ROCKLAND-Important, Iconic & Oddball Objects from the HSRC Collection”
We invite you to visit us!
