"DANGEROUS DRIVER GETS YEAR'S TERM," Toronto Star. January 22, 1943. Page 2. ---- Mesgda's License Is Suspended for Three Years ---- Found guilty of dangerous driving, leading to the death of Reginald L. Boddington, Oct, 4 last, Joseph J. Mesgda was sentenced today by Mr. Justice Hope to one year in the reformatory and his license was suspended for three years.

Mesgda, with Mary Ann Yates, Boddington and two others were in a car owned by Miss Yates - which crashed into the curb near the Humber bridge and overturned.

Assistant Crown Attorney W. O. Gibson handed to the court a list of Mesgda's previous convictions and Justice Hope commented: "Since you were 17, six or seven out of 10 years have been spent in custody, and in this case you appear to have shown the same disregard for the rights of others in previous as cases you did for the property of others."

your blog is lovely! i was wondering if you knew where it is possible to get that yellow edition of jane eyre with the fox on the spine? It's my gf's favorite book and she collects every edition she can find and I don't see that one on her bronte shelf (thanks for your time!)

It was a special edition from Mr. Boddington for Anthropologie years ago (I think I got mine in 2012 or 2013??)!

I had used Paperless Post once before, when sending invitations to friends for my Birthday Cocktails event this past May. This past month, however, Paperless Post gave me the opportunity to share love in the other direction -- by sending out birthday e-cards.

When poking around the site's birthday card offerings, I was quite excited to see an illustration by past Storychord.com contributor Anke Weckmann among the offerings! See above for her adorable kitten-in-a-teacup graphic.

I was searching for something a little less cutesy at the moment, though, given that my father was the one celebrating an October birthday. There were so many great designs to choose from -- including ones by featured artists such as Mr. Boddington's Studio, Red Cap Cards, kate spade new york, and cartoonists from The New Yorker.

Given my Dad's love of craft beers and snacks, I eventually settled on Hello!Lucky's "Cheers Beers" birthday card, pictured above. Like many cards on the site, this e-card had a super cheap base price, but could be customized with fun backgrounds, stamps, custom photo images, and other design features, as appropriate.

I really enjoyed the customization options -- and also noticed in the process that I could schedule e-card deliveries into the future. My tendency to plan ahead and batch tasks lately might really enjoy spending a weekend afternoon creating and scheduling a few months' worth of cards for friends... Not to mention we will soon be approaching holiday card sending season!

They were buying liquor at Legacy Liquor Store for the Supernatural Crew Christmas Fund Raiser. Later that week, Jim Michaels confirmed that the party’s Santa had been J2, with numerous and very generous gifts to the crew.
