monthly media recap: april 2024
read:
The Prisoner's Throne by Holly Black - it's always nice to visit Elfhame, but I fear this installment falls short compared to the previous ones. I enjoyed Oak's POV and family stuff (this insane family <3), but Wren felt like a secondary character in her own duology, which is a shame. I also found some of the plot twists too contrived, and some moments contradicting the previous books (like, since when does Oriana have wings?). It wasn't a bad read, but I kept thinking about how it could've been better. Anyway, Madoc is still the best worst father
Captive Prince; Prince's Gambit; Kings Rising by C.S. Pacat - came for courtly intrigues, stayed for battle planning. Usually I don't care for enemies to lovers, but it was done well here. There were some spots where too-modern language stuck out, and I think the last book needed a proper epilogue (though it might exist as a separate short story somewhere? idk), but overall I enjoyed these books. Sooo not looking them up on Tumblr bc I know people can't handle characters actually having to grow and not holding perfect views from the start, lol
+ currently reading: just started One Piece Novel Heroines and that one article about The Knight of the Cart

What's Up - March 2024
What's Up - March 2024 #monthlyrecap #movies #TV #Games
Quick Update on Reality TV Round-Up The beginning of the year has been pretty crazy. I’m not sure why I expected otherwise as I’m pretty much back into the normal routine of working. With that said, there’s been a lot of delays on the monthly posts which I’m trying to stay on top of but not really getting anything done. While I can’t change a lot of the other posts without it being too bulky,…

Sugar Rush : July 2023 CPNs 🫶🏼
Tumblr media
and so I have decided to shift the candy recap into a monthly release cause it’s too heavy for me to do the 6 months like i’ve been doing for the past years. I also thought about enjoying the last days of the year instead of stressing over editing the post like before. It will also ( hopefully ) make the readers appreciate every month more and not be too overwhelmed by the information. tho i have to say, there were a lot that happened tor July too.
enjoy the candies or catch up! ^^
• XZS vlog candies and sharing same brands
• HK newspapers featured them attending the Bay Area Film Concert
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• WYB giving us a sign for Yuguyao airing with his pokemon shirt ( part one )
• Shiying and XZ said the same thing? & XZ hinted with ‘don’t say so much’ ( part two )
• Yuguyao ( the longest promise ) related CPNs part three
• YIBO and XZS posting so close to each other @ 7/4/2023 and the 18 hint
• THEM PLAYING WITH THEIR LONG HAIR LIKE THAT ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Tumblr media
• Ruxi interview clues with XZ ( part four )
• Another bottled joy CPN
• Yuguyao sweets part V ( double standards & similarities )
• Sending each other voice message / video during CQL filming 💕
• XZ prefers shi ying x baili?
• Most likely paying some entertainment accounts to post rational advice for fans
• the use of 🤷🏻‍♀️ gesture
• feeding the dumpling 🥟
• small candies from one and only universal studios resort event
• Clues from XZS 7/11 video bts from 2021 birthday photoshoot
• Another example of posting so close from each other
Tumblr media
• yuguyao sweets part 6 and other things
• XZ once again shows off his card phonecase
• XZ and his preference for a stable relationship
• Wang Chuanjun holds dandan doll
• Entertainment circle connections
• XZ said he does not know if he & WYB are good friends 😂😂😂😂
• Another Bottled Joy clue
• Shiying x Xieyun on HS
• Similarity between XZS and YBO - this is not anything new because we have always been thinking that these studios have a connection. But this comes after the alleged exit of LRLG in YBO team. So cpfs are happy to see this again. Tho it does not confirm anything.
• doge + puppy preference
• In some screening previews of One and Only in theaters, XZ’s tsingtao short film ad was shown
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• not CPN, but turtles taking over YH family concert and showing support 💛💛💛
Tumblr media
• WYB looking at light signs @ YH concert 🧡
• Bottled Joy continues to not give AF and show their cpf bias
• Givenchy jumpsuits
• Video of the on the last day of shoot and XZ telling WYB he lost his chance but Bobo said he still has it
• Yibo knows about zodiacs/horoscopes + Leo x Libra compatibility reading from 2021
• CPN mix : reading about themselves on the internet, GG spending time with sick yibo, KXZ cue One and Only (?) Da Peng and 10:05
• Influx of new BXGs in the BJYX ST and GG changing his schedule when WYB was out sick
• Chen Shuo’s room includes KXZ movie projector
• XZS and YBO back at it again with their similarities
• A new clue in the BAH rumor ( massage parlor )
• Da bao and Xiao bao in Douyin
• Drawing detail in Ultraman Chen Shuo drawing + the posting time is 22:30 ( ai ai zan ) and on his cheeks is W and a heart. Again, we don’t know if the “cpf” friendly people are back on YBO team but nonetheless, we are enjoying this.
• Adding this here from the recent fake rumor posted 7/31/23. The summary is buying a green bag and it will be used. So we’re just waiting for either one of them to be seen with that lol. WYB is know for his black or that camo palace bag plus chanel. ZZ is mostly Gucci and Tod’s so i think it will be easy to spot.
That is all for this month! As with all my other recaps, it is impossible for me to add every single one. Most ( if not all ) of these are ones heavily talked about in the cpf circle. Please do not ask me to add things, I won’t do it. If there is a CPN that spoke to you for the month of July, that’s not on here then feel free to reply or reblog with your thoughts. This not an avenue to nitpick this post and say i forgot this or that. Thank you.

aloha lise! i've been following you for years and i realize we somehow always end up in the same fandoms or i enjoy most of the stuff you "promote" on your tumblr! so because of your impeccable taste, i would like to ask if you have any recommendations for books and shows?
(i very much enjoyed mcu (mostly loki and stoki thanks to you HAHA), mdzs, cql, tgcf, svsss, lymond chronicles, doctrine of labyrinth...many of the same fandoms that you are in and i got to know and like many of them thanks to you!)
hello and thank you! I certainly have well-defined tastes at the very least. I have fun and that's what matters
as far as recommendations go...oh lord anon, I read...a lot, and watch somewhat less but have still watched a lot of things, and mostly the things I do fandom for are a smaller subset of the things I like. so I almost don't know where to start with this? I guess right off the bat I'm presently rewatching The X-Files which I'm very much enjoying, and if you haven't Kinnporsched yet you might give it a try. outside of that...I wrote a recs list a long time ago that was basically "my personal 'essential fantasy/scifi' list" and favorite books/favorite books of the decade posts. You can also check my #book recs tag or my #book starter kits tag.
if you haven't read The Silmarillion I'll throw The Silmarillion on here too even though it has next to nothing in common with the other things on the list you gave. I recently finished reading the Green Bone Saga by Jane Fonda and definitely recommend that. if you hang around this blog on a regular basis I've started doing monthly reading recaps going over everything I read in the prior month and a snapshot of my thoughts on it, so there might be some recs in there for you, too.
if you enjoyed MXTX's works I will recommend trying out some other danmei, of which there are...very many. I'm a big fan of 2HA or Husky and his White Cat Shizun, which is...being published officially, though slowly, and unfortunately never had a complete alternate (human) translation online. I'm really enjoying QJJ which is basically a historical epic of war and political intrigue in the classical style that happens to have gay main characters.
I'm reading LHJC and have been enjoying it but the translation has gone quiet for a while and is incomplete. :(
this is all fiction and also reading material...I read a lot of nonfiction as well. I do watch things once in a while but really I'm very bad at it. several things on my list that I'm sure I'll enjoy when I eventually get to them but just. haven't yet. of course right now I am forgetting everything I have ever watched in my entire life. Princess Mononoke and The Last Unicorn are foundational movies that shaped my personality. Le Chevalier d'Eon is the weirdest anime nobody else I know has ever seen. I've really enjoyed what I've seen of Kingdom and My Country: The New Age but haven't yet finished either.
lord, what other shows/movies have I even watched

MONTHLY MEDIA: February 2023
Okay I didn’t watch any movies this month BUT I’m very excited for the D&D movie and I watched plenty of youtube.
……….TELEVISION……….
Tumblr media
Arcane (Episode 1.01 to 1.09) It took a few episodes for me to get invested (and a few mid-season eps that felt like a CW series...only young beautiful people allowed) but by the end I was into it. I know nothing about League of Legends and to the show’s credit, I couldn’t tell when there was fanservice. I’ll check out season 2 if it happens.
The Great (Episode 2.01 to 2.08) Loved the first season and currently love the second. Still a few eps left but it’s kept me guessing the entire time. Stellar characters, very funny, and the world continues to walk the edge between whimsical and dangerous.
Spy x Family (Episode 1.01 to 1.07) Super fun premise and very funny. I’ve only just started but I hope we get to see more of Yor’s world. It seems to be spy-centric and psychic-centric (which, based on the name and current plot, makes sense) but I hope it can start weaving in more of her role in the future.
Cunk on Earth (Episode 1.01 to 1.02) Sure I’ve only seen two episodes but both were very funny. Something about her timing and delivery just works every time for me.
……….YOUTUBE……….
Tumblr media
Chronically underwhelmed? This might be why... by Daily Mindtrap A concise reflection on why we’re not having as much fun as when we were kids. Touches on a lot of thoughtful points though my hatred of subscriptions does make me a little biased. VIDEO
The Decline of Tim Burton by Broey Deschanel One thing that scares me as an artist is that I’ll get stuck in a spot and start copying and reiterating on my own work to the point that it becomes caricature. Just a random thought and totally unrelated to this video. VIDEO
Tumblr media
How To Analyze Movies – Film Studies 101 and What Do The LOONEY TUNES Mean In 2023? by Patrick Willems Both really great in their own way. Film studies 101 is fairly universal as a lot of the topics apply to all art. And the Looney Tunes share a room in my mind palace with the Muppets: concepts I love but haven’t connected with anything of theirs in the last 15 years. VIDEO (Film 101) VIDEO (Muppets)
……….READING……….
Tumblr media
Your Friendly Neighbourhood Death Pedlar by Jimmy Sangster (Complete) The cover was so good and the write-up pitched it as a comedy that I took a gamble on a thrift store find. Swing and a miss. Comedy is difficult in your own time let alone 50 years after being published. Are the offensive bits a sendup of the time, or have they just aged poorly? Comedy that requires context doesn’t land for me so this whole thing fell flat. Anyway all this is to say I’m a sucker for a good book cover.
Confronting Capitalism by Vivek Chiboer (Complete) An easily digestible primer on Capitalism and it’s...faults. It really gave a lot of insight into the structural problems with politics in a capitalistic system and for that alone, I recommend. I wish the last chapter (talking about how a society moves past capitalism) was a little more robust, but hopefully I can find some other books to fill in those gaps.
Tumblr media
Batgirl/Robin Year One by Scott Beatty, Chuck Dixon, Marcos, Martin, and Javier Pulido (Complete) Great introductions to both characters and the perfect balance of fun and dangerous. It feels like there are real stakes while not getting too dark. I’d love if a Batman movie could strive for this sorta tone, you know?
……….AUDIO……….
Tumblr media
Paranoid by Black Sabbath (1970) One thing I appreciate about getting into Girl Talk years ago was it introduced me to bits of really great albums. And I somehow missed that Ozzy Osbourne was the lead singer. Anyway filling in a lot of blind spots here and War Pigs holds up so well. The whole album really.
……….GAMING……….
Tumblr media
Oz: A Fantasy Role-Playing Setting (Andrews McMeel Publishing) The group is unearthing some underground tunnels and playing the political game as well. If you want to read more of the recaps, they’re over here!
Neverland: A Fantasy Role-Playing Setting (Andrews McMeel Publishing) The Mof1 group is busy making plans and saving Pirates. They recently acquired some protective suits so they’re now exploring the iron mines and its fluctuating temperatures!
And that’s it. See you in March!

monthly media recap: february 2024
(better late than never)
read:
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman - very sweet and moving, I cried a little in the end, also very different from what I usually read, so that was a nice change of scenery. Once again thanks to the friend who gave it to me, wouldn't have picked it up otherwise.
The Master of Ballantrae + short stories by Robert Louis Stevenson - good ol' family tragedy. I was a bit underwhelmed by the ending, but overall enjoyed the story. Didn't enjoy the short stories in this collection as much, but I liked how the three of them (The Pavilion on the Links, Thrawn Janet, and Markheim) were so different - a good way to represent the author's range.
King Artus - a 13th century Hebrew version of Arthuriana (Arthur's conception + beginning of the Lancelot episode involving Astolat). Very interesting for the way it swaps the Christian context for the Jewish one (e.g., the Grail becomes a charity bowl for distributing food).
The Black Vampyre; A Legend of St. Domingo by "Uriah Derick D'Arcy" - considered, among other things, the first Black vampire story and the first vampire story by an American author. I kind of struggled through it due to style but the context and references (long live footnotes) made it worth the trouble. Can't say I enjoyed it much as a story, but it broadened my horizon.
+ currently reading The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and Volume 2 of W.I.T.C.H. comics (what? I never learned how it ended as a kid)
watched:
Poor Things (2023) - weird (compliment), beautiful, disgusting, absurd, and funny. Honestly don't know if I liked it, but it was though-provoking, that's for sure.
Šķelšanās (The Split, 2023) - a four-episode Latvian documentary, mostly on the divide between ethnically Latvian and Russian people in Latvia (and among ethnically Russian people in Latvia) in the context of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, but also about other things. I. Don't know if it makes sense to describe it broadly here, I barely have any followers familiar with the context. But I'd say that, despite a lot of moments that made me physically cringe (god, that last episode about social media campaigns against adopting the Istanbul Convention and spreading misinformation about sex education at schools made my skin crawl. Btw, the Convention was adopted, these assholes can choke), it made me weirdly hopeful. Dialogue is possible, united society is possible. This has been my opinion too, and the older I get, the more I realize that people on all sides who try to tell you it's not are just after their own profit and success.

What's Up - February 2024
BOOKS Currently reading: The Book and the Sword I’m not going to lie, reading really didn’t happen too much in February. While I do want to read The Book and the Sword, the fact that my toddler now requires a different bedtime story time style has limited what I read. Instead, we’re cycling through a lot of the easier children’s books. I’ve read about 10 times of 2 Chinese books per day because…

Update on the X-Files Fanfic Exchange Theme for 2023
The poll results and general consensus leaned towards grouping the exchanges by era! This means we will follow our bi-monthly schedule. However, I am not done asking for your input!
Tumblr media
I want your guys’ feedback on if you like how they are clumped/also if you can think of better names.
I tried doing them thematically: S1-3 they are fresh faced and new, S4-7 the governmental conspiracy really shows itself and their relationship deepens, S8-9 pregnancy/general lack of Mulder, On the run-breakup has a lot of fun opportunities for exploring what we didn’t see and IWTB, and then S10-11 the revival.
Tumblr media
Then, no matter what, there will be the bonus slowburn exchange.
I think that makes sense, but I know that’s unevenly distributed content wise (one exchange has 3 seasons, another has 4, some 2, and then one is more up to interpretation surrounding and including a movie).
Regardless of how they are clumped, I know I need to have better names (I can already hear the season of secret sex stans getting upset I labeled 4-7 UST). I like the “Baby Agents” and “Revival” one bc it describes the era well, but the other ones feel less clear
Should I do thematic taglines? Trust No One Exchange, Fight the Future, The Truth Is Out There, I Want to Believe, and ____________? The descriptions on social media and ao3 would fully explain them, but would two of them accidentally look like exchanges only about the movies?
Sorry this line of inquiry isn’t as easy to make a poll for. But please know I genuinely am looking for your feedback and all answers are welcome! This is an event by fans for fans and I want to make sure people feel heard and I need help.
To recap, please help me finalize:
- How the eras should be clumped
- What the titles for the eras should be
Here is an example of what my mock up looks like for reference (not final). Even if you don’t plan on participating, you have valuable insight!! Plz share

31 (Films) to Life: End of Year Round-Up I
Tumblr media
Well, here we are: the start of another year of movies!
Geez, 2022 was interesting. Changed up the format from doing daily films and monthly genres, and focused mostly on films in one genre: crime. Aimed for 31 films, and out of that goal hit...24. Which, honestly, not too shabby. Didn't get as many reviews out as intended, but that is honestly OK. Was a busy-as-hell year for me, so I'm pretty well satisfied.
So, what did I see last year, exactly? Well, this post is about to be a round-up, which includes the films I wrote about, and the ones I didn't get the chance to. And at the end, I'll get into my plans for 2023. So, before I hit the "Keep Reading" button, here's the full list of crime films I saw in 2022.

Tumblr media
And there you have it! Now, this upcoming short set of summaries (behind the Keep Reading wall) may be a little too long for one post, so we'll split it up a little bit. But in any case, let's get this started!
Tumblr media
M (1931), dir. Fritz Lang - 92%
This one, you can check out my full recap and essay about if you're curious, but here's the summary: I loved this movie. Lorre's brilliant as the titular killer, the simple story is well-constructed and effective, the ending is beautiful, and the film as a whole is so impactful. Direction and shot composition is top-notch, the sound and music usage is genuinely revolutionary (having essentially invented the leitmotif), and while it's not the most iconic-looking film, it's still brilliant. PLEASE check this movie out if you haven't already.
Tumblr media
The Maltese Falcon (1941), dir. John Huston - 92%
Holy shit, I forgot I tried writing that whole review in noir-speak. Anyway, here's another classic film that I really like! Haven't seen many noir films, especially prior to this year, but this was a great one to start with. Definitely the prototypical noir detective movie, complete with Bogart's private eye, Astor's dangerous love interest, and the twists and turns that come with the genre. Beautifully shot, excellent plot and writing, wonderful music, and great acting. No complaints; check this one out.
Tumblr media
The Third Man (1949); dir. Carol Reed - 96%
Holy shit, this movie! Absolutely my favorite Orson Welles performance, and that very much includes Citizen Kane. He's extremely good in this movie, which is a sort of non-traditional noir in a number of ways. The cast is perfect, from Cotten to Valli to Howard to Welles (especially the last one). Plot is perfect, and contains more twists than I know what to do with. Directing is great, if a little overly-tilted at times. Production and art design is beautiful. Music is...a lot of zither music. It's...it's a LOT of zither music. As I'm typing this, the score is BACK IN MY HEAD, and I haven't seen this film in 10 months. Let that shit sink in. And yeah, watch this movie, ASAP, please. You won't regret it, I promise you that.
Tumblr media
Rashomon (1950); dir. Akira Kurosawa - 100%
It's a perfect movie. A trope-maker, and revolutionary film in its own right, this movie...dear shit, this fuckin' movie. No words. Nothing needed. Just trust me when I say watch this film immediately. It's stellar. Man, I hit a lot of bangers early on this year.
Tumblr media
The Killing (1956); dir. Stanley Kubrick - 90%
First of all, before anything else...fuck Sherry. And secondly, this movie is a great one, too. Still have more Kubrick movies to watch, but this one was absolutely worth it. Nail-biting and anxiety-inducing, yes, but also with one of the strongest plots I've seen thus far this year. A fantastic heist movie, it's only real weak points are a kinda normal production and art design, and sorta forgettable music. Other than that, it's an amazing film that people don't talk about. And, honestly, they really should. Check this one out if you're into heist movies and classic films!
Tumblr media
Cool Hand Luke (1967); dir. Stuart Rosenberg - 90%
First one of these I didn't post a review on! And honestly...yeah, I'm OK with that. This Paul Newman vehicle is complicated to describe. On one hand, it's an interesting character study full of interesting characters. Newman's Luke is a great example of a rebellious character forced to face consequences for his actions, only to revert to his original nature, Frog and the Scorpion style. It's technically a trope-originator in that way, or at least a major trope-definer. And with a number of interesting supporting characters, especially George Kennedy's Dragline and Struther Martin's Captain, this is a surprisingly memorable movie...in some ways.
But it also...isn't that memorable? Don't get me wrong, there are a number of moments that come to mind in my head, as well as some shots and compositions that are great (the sunglasses of the Captain come to mind immediately), but it's also not exactly Lawrence of Arabia. Rosenberg and Hall are fantastic as director and cinematographer, for sure, but not always the most memorable and iconic. Also...there's the car wash scene. Like, I get the point of that scene, but it definitely cuts through the tone in a way that puts a weird taste in my mouth. Is it an effective scene for what it's trying to do? Um...yeah. Very, very much so. Possibly TOO much, in fact. And I realize that this is a huge nitpick that shouldn't make me give points off for editing, but it speaks to a weirdly inconsistent tone in some places. That scene isn't the only example of that, is all I'm saying. Still, excellent film, check it out if you're into prison movies.
Tumblr media
The Italian Job (1969); dir. Peter Collinson - 92%
Holy shit, this movie is fun! I genuinely love this film so much, even if it has its flaws here and there. Other than being a movie that was absolutely made at the cusp of the 1970s, it's one of the most British heist films I've ever seen. And that's not a bad thing in the slightest, believe me. But, it may be an acquired taste for some. But that said, here are the main things to know. This is a British heist film that stars Michael Caine and features a lot of car tricks, as well as one of the most iconic film endings of all time. And that about covers it. Michael Caine is the most Michael Caine you'll ever see him, and if you ever wondered why he was cast as Austin Powers' father in Goldmember, this movie will make you understand why. Supporting cast is also very good, but everyone takes a passenger seat to the car stunts, which are some of the best care stunts I've ever seen on film. If you want Ocean's Eleven with cars, this is the movie for you. Love this one.
Tumblr media
The Godfather (1972); dir. F. F. Coppola - 100%
Cliché? Absolutely. The obvious choice to praise universally? For sure. The most mainstream, boring, dull, basic bitch film I could possibly like? Yeah. Yeah. BUT I DON'T GIVE A SHIT, BECAUSE IT'S FLAWLESS. Even if I didn't think this movie was essentially perfect, there isn't really anything I can say was wrong with this movie, in my inexperienced opinion. Cast and acting? Perfect. Plot and writing? Twisted and perfect. Direction? Iconic and perfect. Production design? Immersive and perfect. Music and editing? I CAN HEAR THE THEME SONG RIGHT FUCKING NOW, THIS MOVIE IS PERFECT. And you gotta understand, I put off watching this movie for YEARS because I thought it was gonna be boring. And then, I watched it. And post watching it? It's amazing. Watch. This. Movie. NOW.
Tumblr media
Chinatown (1974); dir. Roman Polanski - 96%
...I saw a lot of good movies this year, OK? Look, this is also an excellent film, despite its reprehensible director. Just divorce the art from the artist and all that, and go into this movie completely blind if you haven't seen it. Taking it from me, it's essentially perfect. Only issues I had were that the Production Design wasn't particularly distinctive, and the music was mostly forgettable after the fact. And those were nitpicks. Watch this movie!
Tumblr media
Dog Day Afternoon (1975); dir. Sidney Lumet - 90%
Did...did I watch a bad movie this year? I mean...yeah, I did. Black Adam sucked. And, like...Violent Night was...well, no, I liked Violent Night. Ooh, I was forced to watch Minions 2: The Rise of Gru, which was mediocre at best! I...OK, OK, look, you've heard this before at this point, but...watch this movie, OK? Another heist film, based on a true story this time, as well as being a benchmark in LGBTQ film representation, this film is a great one. Maybe I didn't like an acting performance, maybe the plot wasn't perfectly accurate to real life, maybe the cinematography wasn't always iconic, and maybe it could've used literally any music...but it's a great movie. Watch it.
Tumblr media
Taxi Driver (1976); dir. Martin Scorcese - 90%
The "good movie" train keeps chugging forward with this one, because yeah...Taxi Driver is also fantastic. Truly one of the best character dissections I've ever seen, as well as a fascinating look at one of the most dangerous and crime-ridden environments in American history, Scorcese makes a really morally complicated film with...well, frankly, troubling consequences and implications. I didn't put out a review on this one (sorry, got stuck in the wasteland that is my Drafts page), but this film was partially responsible for Reagan getting shot, fun fact. And that may be because the shooter partially identified with Travis Bickle, who is a troubled and fascinating character. And for the record, the rest of this is fantastic as well, but De Niro's Bickle and Scorcese's NYC are the most prominent and most important parts of this movie. Love this one, too. Watch this film if you like character dissections!
Tumblr media
Scarface (1983); dir. Brian de Palma - 90%
OK, so...is this the most stereotypical college-age dumb jock poster-in-the-dorm-room movie in the fucking world? Yeah. Yeah, it really is. But is it a great movie despite that? I mean...holy shit, yeah, it's a very good movie. Sure, Italian actor Al Pacino playing a Cuban immigrant is a weird casting choice that's aged poorly in today's sociopolitical landscape...but he's also really fucking good at it. Seriously. Over the top, absolutely, but an extremely enjoyable watch all the same. Watching him slide into depravity and chaos when he already started there is fascinating, and Pacino just EATS the movie with how hard he chews the scenery. Look...it's a fun fucking movie to watch, and that's not even talking about the iconic lines, the supporting cast, the well-structured plot and story, the iconic costumes, and every other enjoyable part of this ride of a movie. I resisted watching Scarface for a LONG time, because I associated it with college-age fuckbois, but...shit, it's a good movie. Watch it if you haven't seen it.

OK, lemme pause here. Part Two coming next!
