Auston and Amelia, maybe one where all the guys mock Auston because he is alway clingy to and talking of Amelia. Maybe different scenarios one where they are on the road, or in bars or in games, thanks!
A.N. HI!! SO this one was fun to write. I hope it was similar to what you wanted because I got a little carried away while writing this. I also drew a lot of inspiration from the podcast Spittin’ Chiclets Interview Auston Matthews. He talks about how he was annoyed that Morgan Rielly got a girlfriend and I find it really funny. Also sorry the ending was a bit rushed.
Word Count: 1,914
Master List
“Hi, I’d like a tall bud light and a strawberry lemonade,” I grinned politely at the bartender. He grinned sweetly at me as he nodded his head. I was currently out at the bars with Auston, his teammates, and their wives and girlfriends.
“Sure thing that'll be $10.00,” he said, placing the beer in front of me. I handed him my credit card as I waited for my drink.
“Hey sweet thang,” Auston whispered into my ear as he wrapped one of his arms around me, blocking me into the corner. I grinned as he pressed a kiss to my cheek. He reached around me and grabbed the beer off the counter taking a sip. His face scrunched up for a moment.
“Beer?” he asked. He had originally been drinking vodka lemonades but I was planning to leave soon and he honestly didn't need any more vodka. He took another sip before setting it back down on the bar counter and leaning against me, his head tucked into my neck. He placed a light kiss on my neck before pulling back slightly.
“Are you waiting on a drink?” he asked, leaning his head against mine. I nodded my head and grinned as the bartender walked over with my card and drink. I picked up my strawberry lemonade and grinned at Auston as I took a drink. He reached out grabbing it from me when I was finished.
“No alcohol in this?” he questioned confused.
“Noo I wanted it. It’s so good,” I said, taking another blissful sip. He grinned fondly at me before picking his beer up.
“Your cute,” he said through a hidden grin behind his cup. My cheeks immediately flushed as my eyes darted out to the dance floor spotting Steph and Mitchy. I turned around holding my drink and put my empty hand on Auston's chest. He wrapped his arms around me pulling me in. As I went to respond I was cut off.
“Matts. Amelia!” Willy exclaimed, throwing his arms around the two of us. Auston and I laughed as we leaned into the touch.
“You guys are just so cute,” Willy grinned, swaying us. I laughed as I elbowed Willy away so that we could move farther from the bar. Auston immediately moved back to my side stepping behind me slightly and pulling me back against his chest.
“Auston is always getting his hands on Amelia,” Willy exclaimed, turning to Zach Hyman who had joined us. I laughed loudly as I leaned back into Auston.
“How could he resist this,” I said, moving my hands up and down my body in an exaggerated motion sending a wink WIlly’s way. He laughed loudly.
“Amelia is definitely out of Auston’s league,” Mitch said as he walked to us placing a hand on Auston's shoulder.
“Really Mitchy,” Auston quipped.
“So out of your league Auston,” Steph teased leaning off of MItch's shoulder. I shared a laugh with Auston as I pat his cheek.
“Your perfect babe,” I grinned. He smiled gratefully at me as he leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to my lips. He pulled away and I blushed bright red as I saw all our friends staring at us.
“I’ve never seen Auston smile so much in my life,” Jack joked as he approached us.
“Amelia makes him smile,” Freddie said, turning to face him. I blushed leaning further into Auston. He tightened his arms that were wrapped around me and pressed his lips to the side of my face.
“They are just a bunch of bullies,” he teased. I tilted my head up with a laugh.
“Oh for sure,” I grinned.
----
“Look at how good this looks,” I said showing Auston my plate of food. He was away on a long road trip through the states and we had been facetiming for the last twenty minutes because he didn't have a game tonight.
“Oh yeah that looks good babe,” Auston said, taking a good look at the camera.
“Thanks, what are you up to tonight?” I questioned taking a seat on the couch and setting my phone on my leg.
“Some of the guys want to go out to the bars and then others want to play video games in the room,” he explained leaning back against his bed frame.
“Oh and what do you think you'll do?” I asked as I started to eat my food.
“Talk to you,” he grinned lazily at the camera. I grinned to myself as I took another bite.
“Oh yeah?” I quipped back.
“Yeah. What are you wearing?” he asked through a lazy grin. I laughed loudly as I held the camera up and showed my body that was in a Leaf's sweatshirt and my lacy blush pink underwear.
“Take a look for yourself,” I teased.
“God I wish I was home,” he groaned. I smiled pushing my plate away from me and stood up to walk to the bedroom.
“Me too,” I said as I crawled onto the bed and spread out.
“I miss you so much. I miss you putting your hands on me,” I moaned out lightly as I put my hands on myself.
“Oh babe I miss touching you,” he breathed out. As I went to respond we were cut off by the door opening and Mitchy walking in.
“Really,” Auston groaned to the ceiling.
“Oops did I interrupt something?” Mitch said smiling smugly at Auston. I laughed loudly as Auston threw his head back against the headboard with another groan.
“Mitch go away,” Auston whined, rolling his eyes. I gave Auston a look as I shook my head. I was not about to have facetime sex with him after being caught like that.
“The guys want to know if you're going out or going to Willys but considering you're talking to Amelia I’m going to guess you're doing neither,” Mitch teased Auston. We were suddenly interrupted by loud banging on the door.
“Auston get off the phone with Amelia and come out to the bars with us,” Willy called loudly through the door.
“You don’t know I’m on the phone with Amelia,” Auston said back offended.
“Dude you literally are on the phone with her,” Mitch exclaimed through a laugh. I grinned as I sat up in the bed.
“Let me guess Auston’s not coming out with us because he’s on the phone with Amelia,” I heard Mo say.
“Mo you can’t say shit remember when you blew me off to hang out with Tess,” Auston responded pettily.
“Whatever. You coming out or you going to stay here and be lame?” Mo responded.
“Stay here and be lame,” Auston responded moodily. I sent him a questioning look to which he sent me a raised eyebrow.
“Okay,” Mo said and then I heard the sound of a lot of shuffling and the door closing.
“They gone?” I asked, raising my eyebrow. He nodded before sitting up slightly in the bed.
“Yeah,” he lazily smiled.
“Is everything okay with you and Mo?” I asked lightly. I knew that the two had been getting into little arguments because Mo had been blowing Auston off lately for his girlfriend.
“Yeah, everything is fine. He and the guys have just been mocking me a lot lately about how much I talk about you,” he mumbled, rubbing his neck.
“Aw, you talk about me? I grinned back.
“Always, You're everything I ever wanted,” he grinned back seriously.
----
“Please come with,” Auston whined as he pulled me closer to him in bed. My name body pressed against his as I grunted.
“I’m not sure this sounds like fun. You said there won’t be any girls there Aus ” I managed to huff out.
“Willy will be there,” Auston tried to bribe. I gave him a serious look.
“Alright fine. I don’t want to leave you alone yet I’m not ready to.” My face softened as I took in Auston's suffering. I moved squeezed myself closer to him
“Babe, what’s wrong?” I asked softly. His body tensed slightly for a moment before he relaxed slowly.
“I just really missed you and being away while you're pregnant is just so hard,” he admitted gently. I rubbed my belly as he talked.
“Alright. I’ll DD,” I agreed as I pulled myself out of his arms.
“Really?” He asked with a grin hopping out of bed. I took in his beautiful naked body as I nodded my head with a smile on my face.
“Yeah,” I bit my lip. He grinned before leaning forward and pressing a big kiss to my lips. He then pulled away and made his way to the closet and quickly got changed. Once we were both ready we hopped in the car and I drove us down to the bar.
“I thought it was boy's night,” Zach teased when he saw the two of us walk in together. I held my hands up in defense as I looked between all of them.
“I’m DDing tonight,” I said innocently a few of the guys cheered and held up their glasses to that one. Mo gave Auston a look before returning his stare to his beer bottle. Auston rolled his eyes before looking back to me. I felt confusion start to brew as I took in the two friends arguing over what seemed like nothing.
“Good now I don't have to force Steph to come get me,” Mitch said, pulling me into a side hug. I giggled before turning back to Auston who was having what looked like an intense conversion with Mo.
“Auston do you ever not have Amelia at your side,” Spezza joked as he arrived at the table. A lot of the guys laughed as Auston looked away from Mo and made his way over to me.
“Don’t worry about it guys,” he responded, pulling me into his side. I grinned as I leaned into him.
-----
“Dude you're always simping over Amelia and canceling our plans,” Mo said leaning back against the couch. Auston paused the game as he turned to face Mo. I stood in the hall peeking around the corner as I took in the conversion before me.
“Mo you started it first when you got with Tess. You didn’t even tell me you were dating her at the beginning. At least I told you,” Auston said running his hand through his hair. Mo shook his head not liking that answer.
“You guys are always talking. It almost seems unhealthy. Like your way more into her than she is into you and I’m just trying to look out for you man,” Mo said leaning forward slightly.
“Listen man. Amelia is the love of my life. Our relationship is not unhealthy. We lost a baby and we wanted to have a family so bad. The fact that she is pregnant right now is a miracle. I worry when I leave her alone, I worry when I’m away. I can’t help her through half of this pregnancy because of my job so yeah I’m going to skip hanging out with the boys so I can watch my baby grow. Yeah, I’m going to skip out on hanging with the boys so I can spend time with my lovely sexy wife. Don’t ever talk disrespectfully about her. I would never do that to Tess man,” Auston said before leaning forward and pressing play on the game. Deciding I had heard enough I turned around and made my way back to the bedroom.

13 . Stop being so cute with Morgan Rielly
sorry it took so long, i went in on this one 🥴
13: “Stop being so cute.”
“Are you busy next Saturday night?”
You lifted your head slowly to eyeball Mitch Marner whose back was too you while he stole snacks from your kitchen cabinets. You let his question hang in the air for a moment before responding.
“Why are you asking?” you asked. He turned around, bag of Doritos in his hands, and leaned up against the counter.
“Morgan needs a date for the gala.”
“No, no,” you said. “No.”
“Three no’s?” he asked. A mischievous smirk appeared on his face. “Why? Morgan’s not that bad.”
“Mitch, you know I can’t do that.”
“For what reason?” he asked. You glared at him. “Other than the fact that you’re completely in love with him.”
You picked a pencil up from the counter and threw it at him. He dodged it skillfully, laughing out of enjoyment as he shoved another Dorito in his mouth.
“I’m not in love with him.”
“Yeah, okay, and the sky isn’t blue.”
“I just broke up with Luke,” you remind him. Mitch barked out a laugh. “Don’t laugh.”
“YN, you broke up with him a month ago,” he stated. “And you didn’t even cry about it! You can’t use that as an excuse. Besides, Auston is bad at keeping secrets and he told me you confessed it to him while drunk last week.”
“I hate him,” you groaned, dropping your face in your hands.
When Auston had everyone over for drinks a week prior, you had no intention of getting as drunk as you did. But, the boys liked drinking games and they were very good at peer pressure. So, you and Steph were drunk before 11 p.m., which is the quickest you’d ever ended up slurring your words with them.
Everyone had left the apartment around midnight but you and Morgan, both offering to help Auston clean up. Morgan was a little looser than usual that night, his hand lingered a little longer on your back as he passed by you, and he called you cute when you got the hiccups from drinking too much. And when he left, Auston had a lot to say.
“Are you in love with him?” he asked, mouth agape at the rosiness of your cheeks and the way your eyes followed him as he slipped out the door.
“Shut the fuck up.”
“You’re in love with Morgan Rielly!” he exclaimed. He grabbed you by the shoulders and shook you. “I’ve never once looked at anyone the way you looked at him tonight. Not even that guy you dated!”
“Jesus!” you yelled, shoving his arms away. “Maybe I have a little crush on him, but that would never happen. He acts like I’m his kid sister. He just called me cute.”
Auston stared at you for a moment, studying your frowning face, and then shrugged.
“You never know if you don’t try.”
The conversation ended at that, and nothing had been said about it after. Until now.
“Listen, I don’t care if you like him or you don’t like him. Morgan needs a date or else he’s going to be mopey all night,” Mitch stated. “Besides, everything’s a whole lot more fun when you and Steph get drunk.”
The mention of Steph’s name was enough to convince you.
“Fine.”
“Fine?” he asked. You nodded. “It was that easy?”
“I mean, I could make it more difficult if you really want me to.”
“No, no, don’t do that,” he stated. He shoved one last chip in his mouth and threw the bag in the garbage. “Well, expect a text from Steph tonight. I already told her you’d be coming cause I knew you couldn’t say no to Morgan, and if you said no to him the mention of Steph would be enough.”
“You know me too well, Marner.”
You found yourself at Mitch’s apartment a week later with plans for dinner with him and Steph and a movie after. They were made for just the three of you, and then Morgan showed up with wine.
“Mo!” Mitch exclaimed as he opened the door to reveal the sandy haired boy. “Just in time for the movie!”
Morgan stepped in and gave a wave to you and Steph. That’s when you realized that Steph and Mitch had strategically given you the couch knowing that you’d need to share it with Morgan. You caught Steph’s eye and glared at her, but she gave you an innocent look like she had no idea what she had done.
How had this become a double date?
“I brought that wine you asked for,” Morgan stated. He handed a brown bag to Mitch who then pulled the bottle out of the bag and waved it at you.
Mitch smirked and remarked, “It’s your favorite, YN!”
“Excellent!” you exclaimed sarcastically. Mo laughed and dropped his wallet, phone, and keys on the coffee table before sitting beside you. The couch was small, a loveseat actually, so when he sat his thigh rest against yours.
“Hey, I’m glad you’re coming to the gala with me this weekend,” Morgan murmured as Mitch poured glasses of wine for everyone. You smiled at him, and he returned it. “I’m sorry I didn’t ask you myself, but Auston and Mitch were pretty aggressive about it.”
“Yeah, I know,” you responded with a laugh. “I’m excited. It should be fun.”
The conversation ended when Mitch reentered with the wine and Steph started playing the movie. You didn’t even really know what happened during the movie because your mind was racing. Mo’s thigh rested up against yours the entire time. He kept bouncing his knee and, eventually, it had gotten so fidgety that your hand fell on his thigh to stop him.
His eyes met yours, a little wider than they had been before, and your hand flew back.
“Sorry.”
“It’s fine,” he murmured. “I didn’t realize I was bouncing my knee that much.”
The night ended after the movie because Steph had fallen asleep towards the end. You walked with Mo out to the parking garage, engaging him in conversation about absolutely nothing important or worthwhile. He walked you all the way to your car, which was past his own, and stood beside you while you unlocked it.
“I heard about Luke,” he stated. “I didn’t know you two broke up.”
“Oh, yeah,” you said. “I keep forgetting because it feels like forever ago.”
“So, you weren’t upset about it or anything?”
“No, I think it was the right move for me,” you answered. He nodded, shoving his hands in his pocket. “Why do you ask?”
“I was just curious,” he stated. He took a step backwards. “He was around for a while I feel like, so I thought you were kind of in it for the long haul.”
“No, there were some things we couldn’t work through.”
Like my friendship with all of you, you thought.
Morgan nodded, a warm smile on his lips, and said, “Well, I’ll see you on Saturday.”
Steph came over the night of the gala to get ready with you because she claimed Mitch would annoy her too much while she did her makeup. But, really, you figured she was there to talk you down from standing Morgan up.
You were in your bedroom standing in front of the closet while she did her make up in the vanity. The stare down you were having with your dress for the evening was doing nothing for your nerves. You hadn’t dressed this nice since that wedding you went to last summer, and it didn’t really matter how you looked then because you had a boyfriend.
“Stop staring at it and put it on,” Steph said. “You’ve just been standing there for like fifteen minutes.”
“Do you think I can pull it off?”
“Are you kidding?” she asked, turning on you. “I was there when you put it on. You looked banging.”
With a sigh, you undressed and took the dress from the hangers to pull it onto your body. Steph stood to help adjust it on your shoulders and then she zipped up the back. She gave a low whistle when you turned to look at her.
“Okay, hottie!”
“Stop!”
“Morgan’s eyeballs are going to fall out of his head,” she stated. “And if his don’t, I’m sure one of the other guys will pick up the slack.”
You rolled your eyes at her, then turned to look at yourself in the mirror. The dress really was beautiful. It was a black dress with sleeves that fell off the shoulders and the velvet fabric of it made you want to run your fingers along it all night. The dress hugged each part of your body perfectly. That’s when you decided if Morgan wasn’t into you after tonight, you had to move on.
Mitch called an Uber from your apartment to Auston’s when you girls were ready, and when you got there his place was crowded with guys from the team and their significant others. You said hello to those closest to the door, unable to find Morgan in the crowd. You found Auston near the kitchen and hugged him hello.
“If Mo doesn’t bring you home tonight, I might have to,” Auston teased. He dropped his hand lower on your back with a grin, shifting it lower as you spoke to him until…
“Are you trying to steal my date, Matthews?”
You turned to face Morgan and had to stop your eyes from going wide. He looked so good in that suit that you were immediately wishing you could run your hand beneath the suit jacket and over his chest.
“I will if you don’t snatch her up first,” Auston stated. He wrapped his arm over your shoulder and murmured, “You’re welcome.”
Then, he made himself scarce.
Morgan shook his head and reached forward to tug you in by the waist. He placed a kiss on your cheek and whispered, “You look great.”
“So do you.”
You could’ve stayed in his arm for the rest of the night, but the moment was ruined when the apartment erupted at the arrival of the Hymans.
The rest of the night was much like the others you spent with the Maple Leafs. You were all drinking and dancing all night. Morgan wasn’t around too much, opting to hang by the bar instead of on the dance floor. But, at some point in your drunken state, you marched over to him and tugged on his hand to bring him out to the floor.
“I didn’t come with you to just dance alone all night.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he responded. He placed his glass on a nearby table and spun you in his arms while Mitch did the same with Steph, both of you girls giggly drunk and having the best time. It felt, once again, like a double date.
On the way out of the reception hall, you stumbled over your heels and sent Morgan into a fit of laughter. You shoved his chest as you turned on him, but he captured your arms in his hands, then wrapped his arms around your waist to hoist you over his shoulder. You banged on his back.
“Morgan!”
“I’m just carrying you to the Uber, drunkie.”
He opened the car door and placed you down so you could climb in, then he slid in beside you. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you into his side. You melted into him, your head falling to his chest on the way back to your apartment.
When you got out at your building, you grabbed his hand to stabilize yourself. Okay, maybe you did it just to hold his hand. Morgan sent you a sweet smile once your hand wrapped around his, but it didn’t mean anything. You were sure of it.
You finally got to the door of your apartment and fumbled with your keys upon realizing how close he was. You could feel his breath on the back of your neck. Finally, you unlocked the door and pushed it open, motioning for Morgan to step inside. He did as he was told and immediately dropped his jacket on the hook by your door.
“I need some water.”
“Yeah, you do,” he teased. You glared at him, but continued your pursuit for a water bottle. He followed. While you grabbed the bottles from the fridge, you hiccupped. Morgan giggled at the sound.
“Don’t laugh at me!” you whined. He smiled back at you, eyes falling to your lips as you pouted up at him. You handed the water to him, trying your best to ignore his gaze.
“Then, stop being so cute,” he responded. The comment had you throwing your head back in frustration and a groan leaving your throat. Morgan laughed again. “What was that for?”
“Stop calling me cute!” you exclaimed. You looked back at him with a furrowed brow. “I hate when you call me cute. I feel like a toddler. I want you to call me beautiful, or sexy, or hot. But, you don’t see me like that! And I hate it because every time you call me cute it’s like a backhanded compliment.”
Morgan’s mouth opened and then closed as he processed your words.
“Whatever, Morgan,” you murmured. “Forget I even said anything.”
“I don’t think I’m going to forget that,” he stated. He leaned up against the counter opposite you. “You’ve never raised your voice at me before.”
“I knew I shouldn’t have gone tonight.”
“Woah! Take that back,” he said. “I thought you had fun!”
“I did, but I knew that it would just get my hopes up for no reason,” you muttered. “And it did. And, here you are, calling me cute, again.”
“Just because I call you cute doesn’t mean I don’t think you’re all those other things, too,” he stated. You looked up at him, confusion flooding your head. He stepped forward, walking towards you until he was in front of you. He pressed his palms against the counter on either side of your and crowded your personal space.
“You walked into Auston’s apartment tonight and I was immediately thinking about getting you out of that dress.” His voice was low, eyes darker than normal. “And the other night at Mitch’s it didn’t escape me that it was essentially a double date. I couldn’t stop thinking about you in those shorts and your thigh brushing up against mine like that, and your hand when it touched me.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah,” he said. “Oh.”
You didn’t have time to think before he pressed his lips to yours. Suddenly, his hands were around your hips, hoisting you onto the counter. He settled between your legs as his tongue trailed across your bottom lip. It was all happening so fast that you needed a minute to think. You pulled away and leaned your forehead against his.
“I think you’re cute,” he stated. You pulled away with a roll of your eyes. You leaned your head against the cabinet, frustrated with his comment. And, then, his lips touched your wrist. “And I think you’re beautiful.”
A smile came to your lips, and you sat up. He placed a kiss to your shoulder.
“And hot.”
Then, his lips were on your neck and your hands were in his hair.
“And I think you’re sexy.”
Finally, he pulled away to look at you.
“Are you happy now?” he asked. You nodded. He leaned in, his lips ghosting over your own, just enough to say, “Good, so am I.”

Morgan Rielly #2 😋
Since people seem upset about Mo in my Auston series, here...have an independent Mo blurb.
I apparently cannot write short smut…. (1406 words)
2.“Let me show you why you should stay in bed.”
______________
If there was one thing you loved about your boyfriend it was that he was passionate and committed to the sport he loves. If there was one thing you hated…well the same could be said. It wasn’t that you didn’t support Morgan, you absolutely did 100%, it was that with all the time he was on the road, sometimes when he was home you wished he wasn’t so dedicated.
For example, Morgan had yet to miss an optional skate all season. The word optional was there for a reason and yet you hadn’t been able to convince him to skip one even when he needed it because it was clear he was getting worn down. This morning though…you weren’t about to take no for an answer. The team had been on the road for a week and you were well aware that today’s practice was optional and it was even encouraged for the boys to take a day off and just rest.
Still, Morgan’s alarm went off for practice like always and you groaned, wishing for once your boyfriend would stay in bed with you. After all, it wasn’t that often that you both had the option to take a day off and do nothing and you were slightly annoyed that he was seriously about to take that for granted once again.
Feeling the bed shift, you watched as Morgan turned the alarm off and moved to get up.
“Morgan…” You whined softly. “Come back to bed.”
“Gotta go pee.” He mumbled still half asleep. Determined that he was not going to leave this room beyond that and food, you slipped out of your pajamas and perched on the edge of the bed waiting for him to return.
As his footsteps approached you waited for him to notice you and instead he headed straight for the walk-in closet. “Morgan,” you called out again, this time watching the look on his face as Morgan popped his out of the closet. “Come here.” You whined, pleased when his eyes darkened. He complied with your request, coming over to kiss your head gently.
“I gotta go to practice.” He murmured and you shook your head, guiding his hands down to your naked body.
“You should skip practice…it’s optional.” You declared your voice dropping into the tone you always used when trying to seduce Morgan. “Let me show you why you should stay in bed.”
It was clear that he was fighting with himself over going or staying here and when his hands remained on your body you took the small victory, trailing your hands over his naked torso as well. “Come on Mo…stay in bed with me. We never get to have morning sex.” As your hands reached the waist of his pajama pants you could feel him giving in to you. “Baby…please…it’s been a week. I’m hungry…” The glint in your eye was enough to make Morgan groan and he gently pushed you back on the bed before leaning in to kiss you.
“Fine…you win this time.” He murmured, his hands trailing over your body like you were treasure he was afraid to drop and break.
“Bout damn time.” You mumbled pushing him onto his back on the bed before shifting to pull his pajama pants off of his body, his cock popping free. He was already half-hard and you smirked to yourself, loving how easily he responded to you and how his thick length was going to feel in both your mouth and your pussy.
Stroking him a few times, you leaned down to lick at the slit where his precum was already gathering. Morgan’s hands were already reaching down to tug at your hair as you settled yourself above him, teasing over him with gentle strokes of your hand and flicks of your tongue.
“Baby please.” He groaned after a moment and you smiled kissing up and over his stomach for a moment before speaking.
“Well, I suppose since someone agreed to stay home with me that maybe I should reward them.” You breathed, licking over his length once more before hollowing your cheeks out and taking him into your mouth as deep as you could. It never took long to work Morgan up like this, and since it had been a while since the two of you had been intimate you weren’t expecting it to take long now. Still, you were slightly surprised at just how quickly Morgan’s length started twitching in your mouth before his seed was spilling down your throat. Swallowing, you cleaned him up with your tongue before pulling back and perching next to him as he recovered, arm thrown over his face.
“Holy shit babe.” He eventually mumbled, his cheeks flushed and chest still heaving.
“Looks like you needed that.” You teased, trailing your fingers over his chest again.
“Okay fine. My sexy girlfriend knows best.” Morgan finally responded, making you laugh as he finally worked up the energy to move, pinning you down to the bed as he kissed you. Humming happily, your fingers trailed patterns up and down his back, pleased to have this time to spend with him where neither of you had anywhere to be all day.
Just as you were about to ask what said sexy girlfriend could expect to receive in return, two of Morgan’s thick fingers brushed between your legs before plunging inside of you causing you to immediately moan. “So wet for me already,” Morgan mumbled though he’d known that you would be. There was something about blowing him that always got you dripping if you weren’t already. With your hips canting up toward his hand, Morgan used his free hand to hold your hips down. He knew that you hated not being able to move but the look on his face told you that he didn’t care all that much.
Morgan knew your body better than anyone else and so it wasn’t long before the feeling of his fingers inside of you and his thumb pressed against your clit had you spasming around him as your body shook with pleasure.
“God, you’re so fucking gorgeous when you cum.” Morgan murmured and only partially sated, you reached over to tug him on top of you.
“If that’s the case then you should fuck me.” You pleaded, knowing that Morgan wouldn’t be able to resist being buried inside of you. After all, since the two of you had had a discussion about it, you had frequently woken up to Morgan’s cock resting inside of you while the two of you slept after he’d played a hard game. Every chance he had, Morgan liked spending close to you like that and you were honestly surprised that you hadn’t woken to him inside of you after a week away.
At the same time, because you hadn’t you were even more desperate for him now and so when Morgan dropped his hips into your own, you sighed in relief as your body stretched around him.
“Oh god…I missed this.” You admitted, rotating your hips a little to try and get him even deeper. Morgan knew exactly what you wanted and so he tugged your legs over his shoulders allowing him to settle as deep as he physically could. Neither of you moved right away, just enjoying the feeling of each other but it wasn’t long before you both needed the friction as well.
Though Morgan’s movements started off slow that wasn’t what you needed and when you told him, his hips sped up, pounding harshly into your own leaving you moaning and keening against him.
“Yes…Mo…” You exclaimed, waiting anxiously for that blissful feeling to crest once more. When it did, every muscle in your body clenched almost painfully but after being worked through it you were left feeling boneless and filled with relief. “God Mo…” You added as he kissed soothingly up and down your body.
“I love you.” He declared, tucking you into his side as he settled onto his back. “Thank you for always knowing what I need.” He added, nuzzling against your neck in a way that made you beam back at him.
“I love you too…” You replied, stretching out your muscles like a cat. “Do you think we could get some breakfast and then maybe go again?” You questioned and though he laughed, Morgan was quick to agree.
“Sounds perfect babe.”

A Bump in the Road - Morgan Rielly
Request: 44. You need to see a doctor.” Morgan Rielly
I winced as I got off the sofa, I had been feeling off for a couple of days now but I just chalked it up to my period and the cramps being extra bad this month. It didn’t help that Mo was out of town on a super long road trip and that always put me in a funk. But he was coming home today and I was ready to spend some time with him. I was picking Morgan up from the airport so I threw on some leggings and one of Morgan’s old sweatshirts.
Getting into the car, I tried to push off the discomfort and focused on the road ahead of me. I managed to pull into the parking lot of the airport just as Morgan texted that they landed. Heading inside the small, private terminal they would be coming through I found a couple of the other girls waiting. Alannah waved me over, smiling as I sat down next to her. “Are you okay Samantha? You look a little pale.”
“Yeah.” Alannah looked like she was going to push more but the guys showed up then. I was slow to get out of the seat so Alannah said something to Morgan before going to Zach. I had just stood up by the time Morgan got to me. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too. Alannah said you don’t feel good.”
“I’m fine, it’s just cramps from my period.” Morgan grabbed his bag as we headed out to the car, I didn’t even argue with him when he motioned for the car keys.
“You’re period isn’t for another 4 days and you only start cramping the day before. You look really pale.” I got into the passenger seat and winced as I twisted to get my seatbelt on. Morgan looked super concerned, reaching over to feel my forehead. “And you feel warm. How long have you been feeling like this?”
“A day or two. I probably just ate something bad.”
“You need to see a doctor Sam.” I really wanted to roll my eyes at him but I also knew he was just worried about me.
“I’ll get an appointment for tomorrow.” That seemed to make Morgan happy because he didn’t bring it up on the way home, letting me call to make an appointment before we cuddled on the sofa. As we caught up on tv I started to feel worse, trying to hide it from Morgan so he wouldn’t worry. That all went out the window when I stood up to get a drink and I literally swayed before falling back onto the sofa.
“That’s it, we are going to the ER now.”
“Mo…”
“No, you just almost fainted. You need to see a doctor. Right now.” His face was as serious as I had ever seen, even when he was on the ice in a tight playoff game. “You are going to sit here while I go get pants for both of us and your purse. Then we are getting in my car and I am driving us to the hospital.” I just nodded, wincing as I moved on the sofa. Morgan left the room quickly, I could hear him down in the bedroom. He came rushing back, pulling on a sweatshirt and carrying sweatpants for me. “Do you need help getting these on while I grab your bag?”
I just shook my head, slowly pulling on my sweatpants. I barely had both legs in the sweatpants by the time Morgan returned, carefully helping me stand up and pulling the sweatpants up before looking me in the eyes. “I have your purse with your wallet, your water bottle, some snacks, an ipad, and some headphones.” I nodded and before I could say anything Morgan picked me up and moved towards the door. He hurried us out of the apartment and down to the car, buckling me in before hurrying around to the driver's seat. I closed my eyes as Morgan started to drive, even with my eyes closed I knew he was speeding as much as he could in a big city with so many traffic lights.
Before I knew it Morgan was stopping and getting out of the car, my eyes opened to see him hurrying across the front of the car with the backpack before helping me out of the car. He had actually parked the car and was now carrying me through the parking garage to the emergency department entrance. A nurse spotted us as soon as we entered, bringing a wheelchair over for me. As much as I didn't want to admit it, the pain was much worse now and I was so out of it that Morgan had to do all the talking to get me checked in. Once that was all done we were moved back to a room and Morgan lifted me onto the bed.
The next few minutes were a flurry of activity, a nurse getting me on an iv as a doctor came in and started to ask questions. They must have given me something for the pain because I was finally about to focus on what the doctor was saying. "Your boyfriend said that you have been having bad stomach pain for a few days now?"
"Yeah, at first I thought it was just cramping but it is much more painful than any cramp I have ever had."
"I'm going to run some tests and we will figure this out." He spoke to the nurse before leaving the room with a nod. Once the nurse was also done I turned to look at Morgan who looked terrified.
"I'm going to text Kyle and Sheldon to let them know I probably won't be at practice tomorrow." I wanted to argue but the concerned look that covered Morgan’s face was enough to stop me before I spoke up, just nodding and watching him type out a text. When that was done he put his phone away and grabbed my hand. “How are you feeling?”
“Like there is a knife in my stomach, but besides that I’m fine. How was your road trip?” Morgan raised an eyebrow, making me laugh. “It will distract me until the doctor comes back.”
“Fine.” With that Morgan launched into a story of the shenanigans that he and his teammates got into during their trip. As Morgan was telling me about Mitch hiding Auston’s gear before a practice. The story made me laugh which caused pain that I was trying to hide from Morgan. "I'm hurting you by making you laugh. Is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable?"
“No, I think it’s just something I have to deal with until the doctor figures it out.” Morgan held onto my hand as we waited, telling me more about the road trip until the doctor came into the room around 30 minutes later.
“Ms. Kennedy, we got the results of your test back. Your appendix is about to burst. We need to get you into surgery right away. The complications if we wait too long are severe so time is of the essence. Our plan is to do it laparoscopically, that might change once we are in there. The surgery should last about an hour as long as everything goes to plan. Do you have any questions?”
“What is the recovery time?”
“You will probably have to stay in the hospital for a day or two, maybe 3 if there are any complications. You should be back to regular daily activities in 2 to 4 weeks, nothing too strenuous for the first week or so. Anything else?” We both say no, the doctor shaking both of our hands before moving towards the door. “Someone will be in shortly to prep you for surgery.”
Once he was gone I looked over at Morgan who was frozen. “Mo, it’s going to be fine.”
“It’s still surgery Samantha! Surgery always has a chance of something bad happening.”
“Wow, did you really just full first name me? I will be fine, and two days from now I will be watching you play hockey from the comfort of our bed while you kick ass on the ice. I’m gonna text my family quickly before I go back for surgery but I am going to need you to keep them up to date with what’s going on. I know they are going to want to fly out but hopefully I can convince them not to come.”
“Good luck with that.”
Morgan’s POV
I watched as Sam texted her family before the nurse came in to take her back for surgery. “I’ll see you once soon. I love you so much.”
“I love you too Mo.” I kissed her forehead and then her lips before they wheeled her bed away. Another nurse showed me to a waiting room where I would be out of the way and they would know where to find me. I was texting an update to Samantha’s family when someone bumped into my legs. It annoyed me when they just stood there then, not apologizing. I looked up and saw Fred and Auston standing there with coffee and a bag of food.
“What are you guys doing here?”
“Sam texted us and said you might need some company. So we brought coffee and snacks." They sit on either side of me, handing me a coffee before pulling out some sandwiches. “How long is the surgery supposed to take?”
“Hopefully an hour. Thank you guys for coming.”
“Of course, Sam’s family too.” Freddie says handing me a sandwich. Auston and Fred kept me distracted for the whole time as we waited for the doctor to come out. I started to get antsy when the hour mark passed. As we got closer to two hours I was pacing the waiting room. “Mo, sit down. I’m sure they will be out soon with news.” Freddie had to pull me back into my seat to stop me from pacing. Instead of pacing my leg was bouncing and Auston laughed at me.
“Sometimes surgery takes a while, if something went wrong I’m sure that someone would come out and update you.” I really wanted to believe my teammates, but I was still worried. Finally Samantha”s doctor came out and as soon as I spotted him I was up, out of my seat and moving towards him.
“Did something go wrong?”
“No, things were a little worse than we expected so we weren’t able to do it laparoscopically. Besides that everything went perfect. She is in a recovery room now. I don’t think the change in procedure will extend her time she needs to stay here, it could take her a little longer to get back to 100 percent.”
“Okay.”
“A nurse can take you to her whenever you are ready, but unfortunately only one visitor can see her.” I thank him, shaking his hand before going to tell my friends what was going on.
“We’ll try to stop by tomorrow after practice if Sam is up to it.” I bid them goodbye before following the nurse back to where Sam was. Walking into the room, I wiped my sweaty hands on my sweatpants before going into the room. Sam was laying in the slightly inclined bed with her eyes closed, so I tried to be quiet as I pulled a chair up to her bed. Just as I was sitting down Sam looked at me smiling.
“Hi.”
“Hi, how are you feeling?” That caused me to laugh, of course she was asking me how I was.
“Aren’t I supposed to ask you that, since you are the one who just came out of surgery?” That got a smile out of her as she reached for my hand.
“I’m fine but I am also pretty sure that I have pain meds in me right now.” Sam stroked my cheek and smiled at me. “You worry about me, and the nurse mentioned that the surgery ran long so I know that you worried even more.”
“Well, Fred and Auston didn’t have to tie me down to the chair.”
“That’s good.” We talked for a bit before a nurse came in to check on Sam. When he left Sam turned to me. “Why don’t you sleep at home?”
“I’m sure they will be okay if I stay here with you overnight.”
“It’s not going to be comfortable for you. Please go home and sleep in our bed, I will still be here in the morning and your back will thank me for making sure you don’t hurt yourself.”
“Sam…”
“Please Mo. Do it for me. I am going to be asleep basically the whole time you are gone.”
“Fine, but I will be back in the morning as soon as visitor hours start.”
“I can’t wait.” Kissing Samantha goodbye, I left the hospital, wishing that I was back with her but knowing she was right.
***
“She is walking around with a nurse but they should be back in the room in a few minutes.” I thank the nurse and sit down in a chair and answer a few texts before I hear Sam and a nurse coming into the room.
“Mo!”
“Hey Sam, how are you feeling?”
“A little stiff, but good. It felt really good to walk around the floor.” The nurse says a doctor will be in soon before leaving us, Sam coming to sit on my lap. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too, but you were right.”
“I’m sorry, can you repeat that?” I laugh, kissing her before lightly squeezing her side.
“You were right and I love you. I also brought you an iced coffee, I called the nurses desk and they talked to your doctor who gave the okay for the drink.”
“I love you too. And not just because you brought me coffee.” Hugging Sam as she drank her coffee and we chatted, waiting for the doctor, I was happy that this was just a bump in a road and even though I was super worried about the surgery, it all worked out.

If you’ve never listened to the song below, I highly recommend! 💙
song: Come to Me - The Goo Goo Dolls
Come to me my sweetest friend Can you feel my heart again I'll take you back where you belong And this will be our favorite song
Tumblr media
“Good night, Morgan.” He smiles back at you one last time before he walks away from you and you stand there and watch him leave. And although the goodbye is only temporary, and although he was just there with you, holding you close, keeping you warm and safe in his arms, you aren’t sure how long you stood there wishing desperately that he could’ve stayed.
You huffed and pulled on the very first oversized tee you tried on over your ripped blue jeans. You grab a jean jacket and a baseball cap as the knocking on your front door continued incessantly.
You were greeted with Steph’s bright white smile and way too cheery demeanor for a Saturday morning. She squeals as she throws her arms around you in a tight hug.
“I can’t believe I get to hug you again!” And you hug her back despite being slightly annoyed with her. You really did miss your friend even when she was being bossy and impossible.
“Cute Canadian tuxedo,” she laughs and adjusts your baseball cap, pulling it down slightly.
You take in her outfit, a lot more put together and girly and brunch appropriate for the first days of sun and warmth in the city. You were already so out of place.
“Steph, should I go change?”
“What? No, you look SO cute! Besides, we’re late and Mitchy is waiting in the car!” She grabs your hand and before you could even gather a second thought, you are out of your apartment, the door locking behind you.
You were so thankful for Mitchy more than ever as he reigned Steph in on the car ride over to the restaurant. He seemed to understand that although you loved her so much, you just weren’t quite ready for any of this just yet. He winked at you in the rear view mirror as Steph pouted in the passenger seat from Mitch telling her to chill out for the third time in the journey over.
“Thank you,” you mutter to Mitch as Steph races ahead of you to the entrance.
“No problem, Y/N. I know how she gets. She’s just so excited to have you back in her life, we all are.” He gives you that boyish smile that makes him look like he’s 19 again. “She wouldn’t shut up about you last night. I fell asleep to her talking about making all these plans with you.”
You groan and he laughs, bumping shoulders with you.
“We’re all glad you’re back though. You were a part of the group. It was like a part of us went missing. Guys and their girls came and went but the missing piece was always obvious.” You smile at him.
“I just don’t know if I even fit anymore,” you admit.
He throws an arm around your shoulder and pulls you into a side hug. “You’ll always be a part of our puzzle. You’re a part of this family no matter what.”
“Oh there she is! Y/N, I’m sure you’ve seen how John signed with the team in the summer. John, Aryne, this is Y/N.”
They greeted you with a handshake and a hug before Aryne asked the dreaded question. “Forgive me for asking. Who are you with, Y/N? I haven’t really seen you around.”
While the smile on her face was truly endearing and warm, you couldn’t help the feeling of panic overtaking you.
“She’s with me,” you heard the familiar voice chime in, an arm winding around your waist. You relax fractionally as you look up and catch Morgan smiling down at you. “Just a special girl.”
You can feel their eyes on you as your eyes drop and your hands fidget with the cuff of your denim jacket but you can’t help the touch of a smile pulling at your lips.
“You’re matching! That’s so cute!” Steph squeals and you blush red hot, not even noticing. You peek up at Morgan and sure enough, he was wearing the same Cleveland Indians hat, although his isn’t as worn.
“Ha, we are matching!” he laughs. “It may be because someone stole my favorite hat.” Your face is impossibly warm but your cheeks are on fire for more than that reason—the smile spread across it. “‘s okay. Looks better on you anyway.”
“Thanks,” you mumble, turning into him, hiding your face from the group.
“Come on, let’s go grab a seat before Steph arranges us according to a seating chart.” You let Morgan pull you away and seat you at the end of a long table.
And for once, things didn’t turn out as bad as you thought. You were sandwiched between Auston and Morgan and across from you were Jake and Lucy so you were very comfortable with the familiarity of those around you.
“You’ll have to come over and visit someday, come see Hank!” Lucy insists taking a sip of her mimosa.
You nod. “I’d like that.”
“He’s a pretty cool little dude,” Jake chimes in. “When he’s not screaming when Matty is holding him.”
You look to Auston who was rolling his eyes. “Dude it was one time.”
“Yeah because you never held him again,” Mo retorted, laughing at his younger teammate’s expense.
You enjoyed seeing Mo like this. Seeing him on TV never did him justice. This Morgan was relaxed, laid back, the happiness and laughter touching his face with little wrinkles that surrounded his eyes, a sparkling blue of absolute joy.
Suddenly Mo’s laughter ceased and you heard him mutter “fuck,” under his breath.
“I’ll be right back.” You watch as he runs off, disappearing for the entrance.
You try not to get distracted by his sudden exit but you can’t help yourself and keep glancing back.
“Y/N, how is the mimosa?” Auston asks, his own eyes glancing to the front of the restaurant as he tries to capture your attention. “I’m starting to think I should’ve gotten some of that juice.”
“Sure, sure have some.” You push your glass toward him and look back, searching for Morgan. You really wish you hadn’t when you catch a quick glimpse of the beautiful girl with him. Her blonde hair, bright blue eyes, gorgeous face and fit body was everything you weren’t. You could hear her tinkering laugh from across the room.
“Aus, who’s that?” the whisper came out weakly. Your arms fold around yourself, protecting yourself from the answer.
You watched, as much as it hurt and you couldn’t find it in yourself to look away.
“Y/N… don’t do this to yourself…”
And in that moment, your eyes connected with Morgan’s and by the look on his face, he could see the absolute heartbreak in your eyes, even from across the room. His face softened for just a second before snapping back to the beautiful girl’s, his reaction harsh, his demeanor, his posture hard as stone, no longer the Morgan of moments ago. This was a side of him you had never seen before.
This was a Morgan that you didn’t know.
You look away. You weren’t sure how much more you could stomach.
You tried to shift your attention back to the conversation around the table but you know you won’t be able to keep up, with your mind wandering and your heart nowhere in it. You smile tightly back at Steph down the table when she looks over at you though you’re unsure just how convincing it looks.
“Hey.” The soft voice and the warmth that slides back onto the bench next to you causes you to flinch away. It was involuntary but it was easiest. To shrink away, to run away from difficulty and confrontation and pain.
With the close proximity, you feel his body move against yours as he sighs heavily. You want to look anywhere but him so you turn to Auston who is looking down at you, a sad smile on his face.
When your food arrives, you focus on that. You nod along with the conversation but you were totally in your head. Your sadness, your hurt was brewing under the surface with something more, something red hot and potent. You didn’t realize what it was until Steph catches you off guard.
“So… Y/N. That Nate guy… he sucks.” The table erupts with laughs at her bluntness. She’s leaning over the table trying to look around Auston before she gets tired of it and pushes him out of the way to switch seats with him.
“Steph, be nice,” you mumble.
“Oh, honey.” She turns and eyes you. “You can do so much better… Hell, I could do much better for you and I don’t know your tastes past Mo over here... Ooh, let ME set you up on a blind date! I got the perfect guy!”
You roll your eyes, a show compared to the churning in your stomach.
“Come on, Y/N! Anyone is better than Nate. I can’t even believe… come on, please! Please!”
“You better just give in, Y/N,” Jake teases taking a sip of his cold brew. “You know how this goes.”
“Steph!” Mitch chastises from down the table but there was no use.
You sigh. “I...” you hesitate but knew Jake was right and you knew Steph was just looking out for you. Maybe this was your chance. Maybe. “I guess just... set me up, Steph.”
“...And Lucy, too! Partially her idea!”
You laugh nervously alongside the girls. And you realize what this is. You would never agree to this otherwise. You would never be brave enough. Never in a million years. This was unknowing jealousy, retaliation. It had overshadowed every emotion in your body and crept up on you. The pain, the hurt, the sadness, every bit of your rationality.
You feel Morgan freeze up next to you but you aren’t even given any time to react before Steph is rattling off about what qualities you needed to find in your future husband who she was sure would be the guy she’d set you up with.
“This will just be perfect. He’ll fit right in with everything. You already have everything else, you’re beautiful, you have your dream job, all you need now is your dream guy and everything will fall into place, be perfect and you’ll live happily ever after!” She was gushing, getting ahead of herself, meaning all the best trying to hype you up but all you wanted was for the floor to open up and swallow you up.
You suddenly felt so cold, so uncomfortable, so lost in the future when you could barely focus on the present.
You wrung your fingers together, trying to push the vulnerability and insecurities aside to just humor your friend.
“God, I’m so excited! And then there will be a wedding and I can be a bridesmaid, right Y/N?”
“Of course,” you relent, trying to play it off, trying to play it cool when you were anything but.
“Leave her be, Steph,” Mitch cautions his girlfriend.
“Yeah, Steph. Let her breathe.” The voice from next to you chimes in and you look to him, your eyes searching wildly for his. He nods when he catches your attention and grabs your hand under the table, his eyes on you gauging your reaction before going back to those relaxing circles on your skin that kept you present.
“Yeah, Steph! You need to lay off the caffeine and chill,” Auston teases, causing her to bite and snap at him.
You feel Morgan shift closer to you on your left side. “You okay?” he whispers, leaning down.
You hesitate but shake your head.
“You want to leave?” He asks, his hand squeezing yours. You could practically hear the worry seeping into his voice.
You shake your head again. You needed to learn. You needed to grow stronger again, before the world kept taking you down, before you couldn’t control the thoughts your brain thought up, before you lose all semblance of yourself. You needed to be with your friends again, with people again. You needed to stand on your own.
“I’ll be okay,” you whisper, looking back to him, aware that there were tears welling up in your eyes, aware that you were scared beyond belief every time your future was brought up but comforted nonetheless by the man next to you. Sad, confused but comforted.
“You let me know and we’re out of here.” You squeeze his hand back, thankful for his warmth to keep you grounded.
So you try to focus on the laughter and the bickering. Steph’s voice ringing and Jake chuckling, John’s sincere smile as he took in the camaraderie of this family that was forged by the Leaf they wore on their sweater, the passion they all shared. You felt what it was like to have a support system of people that cared, surrounding you whether it be with the press of Steph’s shoulder to you as she laughed, the wink from Lucy when she caught your eye, Auston looking to you to suppress laughs as he pushed every one of Steph’s buttons, Morgan’s touch. You try to focus on the things that once made you happy and gave in to them as they pulled the pieces of you together, little by little.
This was once your happy place. Maybe it could be that once again. Maybe even if it had to be without him.
When the checks came around, you realize yours never made an appearance and you look to Steph expectantly.
“What, don’t look at me!” she shrugs, turning back to her iced latte which causes me to turn to Morgan.
You glare at him but there was nothing you could’ve done. He was faster than you were, always a step ahead.
“It’s done.” He hands over the check book to the server and you’re left to pout about it, much to his amusement, that smirk sweeping through pursed lips and crinkled eyes.
“So girls, are we ready to hit Yorkville?” This time Ashley, Naz’s wife asks from down the table.
Your eyes go to Steph’s questioning.
She turns to you. “The boys are going to do some team bonding thing at this Escape Room. Thought I’d be fun if you joined us for the day.” She smiled at you brightly, charismatically, almost convincing you again without even begging you to come along.
“Sorry, Steph. I got her for the day. Get in line.” You looked to Morgan, your eyebrows furrowing as you took him in, cool, calm, collected and lying in your stead. “Maybe next time, don’t trap her into plans?”
“Maybe next time, let me know you had plans with her set up before I kidnap her, MO.” Steph pouted. “Next time, then, Y/N?” You nod quietly, smiling at her. “I really do miss you a ton. We could go to our old favorite brunch spot with the books and the good lattes and just sit and gossip about the boys like we always did since we don’t have homework anymore.” She pulls you into a hug.
“We’ll make plans, Steph. Quiet plans.”
She laughs and readjusts your cap one last time before pushing you into Mo. “Go, have fun doing whatever without me.”
Mo laughs, his hand pulling away from yours discreetly when he stands to let you out of the long booth.
“We’ll see you all soon,” Mo yells so that the furthest reaches of the table could hear and you wave awkwardly before moving forward, Morgan’s hand at the small of your back, guiding you out.
Once you are out the door and on the patio, you turn and look to him, coming to a stop, thankful that the overcast skies ensured that the patio was virtually empty. “You don’t have to, you know.”
“To, what, Y/N?” He shoves his hands in his pocket and rocks on his feet again, suddenly uncomfortable with the distance that you put between the two of you.
You eyed him wearily. “Do this. You just... you don’t have to keep bailing me out and keep around me like you want to be here. It’s fine, I’ll be fine.” You felt guilty for taking him away from his friends, his life, the easygoing nature of it all before you entered his life, again.
His gaze softened and he sighed. “I’m not doing this for any reason other than I want to spend time with you, get to know you again.” He was speaking in earnest, his eyes not letting yours go. “I meant what I said last night, Y/N. I want to know you again.”
You hesitate. “I just... I don’t want you to get caught in my mess again.”
You watch as Morgan’s eyes closed in frustration before opening up and taking you in. He steps into you and holds your face in his hands. “You pushed me away once. I’m not letting that happen again.”
You bring your hand up to tangle with his again. “You...”
“I haven’t seen you in two years. I haven’t seen you since I dropped you off at your parents’...” And you wince at that. “I see them everyday. I know everything about them... but you...”
“Morgan, I can already see that I’m messing up a lot for you. You had a routine before me and I derailed that and  I—“
“Y/N, listen to me. I want to spend the day with you. I want to do mundane things with you that will bring me back to a time where I knew you... but if you don’t want this, I can take you home. I don’t want to pressure you into anything you don’t want to do or make you feel uncomfortable or forced or...” his voice trails off into a shy whisper.
You look down. “I don’t think you know how long I’ve thought about this, seeing you. Just seeing you last night...” you look back to him and feel the emotions rushing over you, all those lonely nights of regret, replaying every single word that cut straight through him, wishing that you could see that he was doing better despite you. “I... I just want to know that I’m not ruining things for you again. You seem to have everything together and I don’t want to come in and just...” You sigh, the endless guilt weighing on you. You’ve put so much on him already that you didn’t want to add even more to the burden.
“Y/N.” Your name on his lips is so familiar, so soothing. “There’s always been a part of me missing in the time that we weren’t in each other’s lives... you’re not ruining anything. Everything happens for a reason and for whatever that reason is, I’m glad that we get whatever time we do to be here for each other.”
“But you had—“
“That girl... she doesn’t mean a thing. So don’t you worry about that, okay?”
You nod slowly and he nods with you, smiling sadly at what this was.
And just like that, the sky opens up and it starts to rain, forcing you to grab onto Morgan’s outstretched hand as he led you back to his car.
You push your slightly damp hair behind your ears and examine Morgan as he brushes his hands through his blonde locks as soon as you’re settled into your seat. His damp hair pressed up against his forehead makes him look younger, reminds you of the young man that stole your heart away, the one that held your hand and comforted you and loved you unconditionally for two years of your life.
You just wanted to enjoy the company of the man that was only inches away from you, the man that was still on your side, still by your side. You wanted to know him again. This Morgan.
You watched as he leaned his head back against the headrest, breathing in deeply.
“What’s wrong?” You ask quietly. Your hand reaches out on its volition and touches his arm softly. His eyes close at the contact before opening to you, noticeably tired. “What’s on your mind?”
He cracks a little smile. “Hey, that’s my line.” He breathes out deeply, coming back to you. “Let’s just go and enjoy the day, okay?”
“I’d like that. I need that.”
And that’s what you did. Morgan pulled out of the spot of the brunch place you visited downtown and hit the road, seemingly with a destination already in mind.
“Where are we going?” You ask lightly, eyes trailing out the window to the tumultuous sky outside, the raindrops sliding down the glass and blurring the city in front of you.
“I was thinking St. Lawrence Market? It was a Saturday morning tradition.” He looks to you and shoots you a breathtaking grin.
“How did you know I still go every Saturday?”
“I didn’t... I just thought we’d take a little walk down memory lane.” It was a tradition that you and Morgan started back when you first started dating, in an effort to get Morgan back on a health kick when he was in-season. You’d both go to the market every Saturday to pick up fresh produce, meats and if he was being good, a treat from one of the many vendors that served there. It was crowded and noisy but you never minded. It meant that when you were there, you were just like everyone else. You were one of many, unrecognizable, just normal and you loved that. Sometimes when you were anxious, you’d go to St. Lawrence just for that feeling of being a small piece of a whole, a part of something bigger. You enjoyed the atmosphere, the buzz and you needed human contact, even if it was in the form of passersby.
When he pulled into a spot, you looked out the window at the torrential downpour.
“Are we going to make a run for it?” you wondered, pulling your denim jacket tighter around yourself.
You caught his mischievous grin and you inhaled sharply.
“1...2...3!” And together, you scrambled out of the front seat of his car and slammed the door behind you, running for the entrance of the market, screaming and hollering as you went.
You squealed as you finally reached the doors and flung yourself inside and into Morgan. You were now equally, even more wet.
“Now we’re committed,” he huffed, trying to swipe off what water he could from his hoodie. “Now we gotta buy stuff, make it worth it.”
“It’s a chicken soup kind of day, that’s for sure,” you confirm and move along to the fresh produce in the first shop, your eyes perusing the vibrant greens and reds and yellows lining the displays.
“Do you still make soup every time it storms out?” He asks, standing right there next to you.
You nod. “Creature of habit I guess. I need the consistency.”
“Do you still bake those cookies too?”
You chuckle, turning to him. He’s trying to keep it light after the heaviness of the last 24 hours and you appreciated that. It shouldn’t be hard. It should be this effortless.
“Is this turning into a game of Q or true?”
He ducks his head and a pinched pink spread across his cheeks. It was a game you played from time to time when either of you felt inquisitive about the other, whether it had been after a first date sitting in your apartment’s parking garage or after a game or before meeting Morgan’s family for the first time. It marked a lot of firsts but this was different. This time it felt different.
“Q, shoot,” he responds, shyly. “Ask me anything.”
You smile. You pick up a stalk of celery and point it at him. “Do you still hate vegetables?”
He laughs, taking the celery from you and put it in a reusable bag he grabbed from the cash wrap. “Yes, although don’t tell John. He’ll be upset to know that I didn’t eat one of the kale scramble dishes he’s sent home with me.”
He takes the carrots you had grabbed and deposits it into the bag before turning to face you. “Your turn.”
It’s your turn to flush.
“Come on. I’ll go easy on you. Pick one.”
“Okay, Q.”
“Hmm...” he laments. “Is your favorite color still blue?”
You roll your eyes but laugh nonetheless. “Yes.”
“The blue of my eyes though?” He teases, wagging his eyebrows and you shove at him, playfully.
“First of all, you skipped me. Second, you can’t use that against me, you ass!”
Morgan laughs out loud, his eyes crinkling, the blue sparkling in the light and you have to look away. There’s a feeling within you that forces you to. The shifting blues of his eyes really were your favorite color and if you could, you’d drown in them forever.
“I thought so! But I think it’s adorable anyway...” Your eyes shift up to find him smiling softly at you. “...I’ll go with Q.”
“Hmm...” you hummed, rounding the corner of the display and picking up a head of cabbage. You started absentmindedly picking at it in your hands. “Favorite part of growing up these past two years?”
“I have to think about that one...”
You grab at the bag Morgan was toting around but he stubbornly pulls it away from you instead heading to the counter and paying for it himself. You grumble as Morgan pulls out cash to give the vendor.
“Can you stop doing that?” you mumble, trudging away to the next stand to look through the various knick knacks littering the table.
Morgan just blissfully ignores your pouting and takes the bag from you.
He looks down at the wooden figures thoughtfully. “My favorite thing about growing up was probably just coming into my own, getting my shit together, just literally growing up and into the person I’ve always wanted to be. I always remembered envisioning who I wanted to be and who I’d become... and for the most part, I’m happy with the person I’ve become, you know? That’s what I think my favorite part is... being happy with the person I am now.”
You smile to yourself and your hands stop fidgeting with the wooden figures, your eyes looking to him shyly. “I’m glad you’re still you, you’re still true to you.” True to the man you had fallen in love with.
“I am, too. I hope to always be that man.” He gazes into your eyes and you feel your heart race in your chest, warmth spread through your body.
“I do, too,” you whisper, softly, mostly to yourself. “Morgan?”
“Yes, Y/N?”
Before you could chicken out, you uttered the words that had been resting on your tongue, “Do you want to have dinner... with me? Tonight?” Your cheeks flooded with color and your eyes avert again the second those words left your lips. “But you don’t—you probably have plans—“
“Hey, Y/N,” Morgan calls, garnering your attention, your meek acknowledgment. “I think you skipped me.” His crooked smile spreads across his cheeks and you’re just relieved that you didn’t mess this up even if you want to smack it off his face. “But yes, I’d love to... as long as your chicken noodle soup is there...”
You smack his arm. “You ass!”
“Okay, chocolate chip cookies, too!”
“Morgan, is that ALL you want to have dinner with me for!” He earns another smack to the arm.
He chuckles grabbing your hand before you’re able to land a good hit and clutches your hand to his chest. “But you better be there, too, because if you’re not, THAT’S the deal breaker. I’d just go home. No point.” He smiles down at you brightly, there in front of the postcard vendor you had moved to and you had to catch your breath.
“You’re such a sap!” You yell, pulling your hand from his grip but not quite winning. “Morgan, I need my hand if we’re going to want to have dinner at a decent time!”
He sighs jokingly but let’s you have your limb back. “Come on, then. We have to get some chicken for the soup. Can’t have chicken noodle soup without the chicken.”
“Lead the way.”
And that’s how the afternoon went, learning about each other again through your dumb little game. You hadn’t laughed  so much in so long like you did walking through the market with Morgan with his bright smile and sparkling blue eyes lighting the way. You hadn’t been so happy in so long, so carefree, so you. You hadn’t been so whole. And you knew that it was in part due to the one thing missing from your life, the one piece. The piece that enthusiastically helped you pick out the veggies that would go into your dinner even though he hated vegetables and refused to let you pay for anything or carry anything and shared a bag of pastries with because he insisted he was being good and bought you the flowers you had been eyeing when you turned your back. Anything to see the smile on your face and your face was aching from all the smiling you were doing.
Even when you were sat there atop the island in your kitchen, instructing him how to cut the ingredients because he insisted he learn how to prep and cook, you felt at home, something you hadn’t felt in your place in a long time.
“Q.”
“When was the last time you cooked a legitimate meal?” You wonder as he struggles to keep the knife from his thumb. You tuck your leg underneath you as you continue to watch over him and his nervous hands.
He laughs and looks up to you. “Legitimate? Maybe my first week back from Van. You know the week that I convince myself that I can cook for myself.” You laugh, absolutely mortified but knowing exactly what he meant. “I know, I know. I’m surprised I’m alive too.”
He finishes chopping up the rest of the cabbage you had portioned out and looks to you expectantly. “Time-out. Do I put this in with the macaroni or the broth?”
“Is your macaroni done?” You watched as he wandered over and looked into the pot with the macaroni and shrugs. You laugh and push yourself off the counter and come to his side. You test the macaroni, explaining the process to Morgan giving him an elbow to taste. “So you drain and dump it all in to the big pot.”
You watch as he comes dangerously close to actually dumping the entire strainer’s worth of macaroni into the hot broth. Your hand reaches and grabs his arm before he can make a huge mess in your kitchen. “Slowly,” you instruct. “Use the wooden spoon to scrape it in.” And he does as you tell him. “Now, add the cabbage... slowly.” And when he put the cutting board aside, his gaze trailed down his arm to where your hand was still clutching his bicep, curled comfortably around his muscle.
You quickly let go, stepping back and blushing wildly. “And now we wait for it to come to a boil and then remove it from the stove.” He nods and puts the utensils down, leaning back onto the counter.
“Q or true?”
“Q,” you respond, your back turned to him as you worked on cutting up the fresh loaf of sourdough.
“Have you ever cooked this with anyone else? Charmed them with your cooking skills?”
You laugh a little and assemble the pieces of bread onto a baking sheet.
“Can you lightly butter these for me, please?” You request and you know he agrees when he steps next to you.
You’re back to stirring the soup when he speaks up after a few minutes of silence. “Are you not going to answer the question?” You look to him to see an eyebrow quirked, his face stoic.
You sigh and answer vaguely, “there’s not really much of an answer to that question,” you shrug. “I have rarely had anyone else in my life much less anyone else that I’d want to cook my specialty stormy weather soup with so no...”
He studies you. “How could you not have people in your life that want to be around you all the time?” He asks and you have to look away. “How could someone not want to be with you all the time?”
You shrug again but this time don’t provide an explanation. You turn away hoping to shield yourself from showing the hurt that crossed your face. Instead, you pull the pot off the burner and grab bowls, silently preparing your dinner and Morgan’s. You walk them over to the coffee table where you had always gathered around for nights like this and sit back against the couch. Morgan takes his seat next to you in silence.
“Y/N, I’m sorry if I...”
“It’s okay, Morgan. It’s fine.” You stir the soup in your bowl, the steam rising. You pushed through the emotions tearing at you. “Q or true?”
“True...” you look up to him at the sudden turn in the game. Truths were rare and heartfelt and when they came you always listened. “I wish I knew what happened. Why it all happened. I wish I could fix it, whatever it is.”
“Morgan...”
“No, I want you to know that you’re not alone anymore. I left you alone when you needed someone. I let you push me away. I forced you to find someone like that fucking... guy that doesn’t care about you and how you’re feeling because you didn’t have anyone... but you don’t have to deal with everything on your own anymore. I know you’re still hurting. I could feel it from the first time I laid eyes on you again. But you don’t have to... not anymore. Not alone.” You didn’t even notice that you were crying, sobbing, until you were cradled in his arms, his body around you, shielding you, protecting you from the yourself and the world around you.
It had finally hit you. Through the two years you were without him protecting you, watching over you, you were running on pure adrenaline to keep your thoughts at bay. You were sad all the time but kept at 100% to try and keep going. You had no one filling your cup and you were draining yourself empty on a daily basis trying to prove that you are someone worthy of good. You were running on empty, you were dangerously close to being completely spent. And you had no one. You never let anyone in, you never allowed yourself to open up.
You had no one.
But finally you had someone. Someone who should’ve turned his back on you but didn’t. Someone that shouldn’t care anymore but does. Someone that you shouldn’t burden with your heart but you always wanted to. He would always have a place in your heart. He was safe. He was home.
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” he chanted into your hair, holding you tight to his chest, holding every piece of you together. “You’re going to be okay. I’ll do everything in my power to make sure of it.”
“Morgan?” You fall, your voice hoarse and breath shallow from your sobs.
“Yes, sweet girl?” he murmurs against your head, his arms still around you.
“True...” Your eyes fall, your heart slows in your chest, your voice soft and small and scared and vulnerable. “I’ve never felt so safe in my life than when I’m with you.” You hold him to you tighter. You never wanted to let go. You couldn’t for fear of the uncertainty, of what could come.
“I’m not going anywhere. Not again,” he promises. He lets his hands run circuits up and down your back, trying to calm your breathing. “Breathe,” he prompts. “In. 1, 2, 3, 4...”
And you sat there, cradled in his lap with him for what could’ve been hours, the storm brewing outside, your dinners long forgotten. You sat there until your breathing slowed and you rested against his chest. You sat there in silence, your fingers tracing along the neckline of his t-shirt, brushing his skin everyone once in a while. You sat there until the question bubbled up on your lips.
“Are there any other girls?”
“No.” His fingers ran through your hair, the way you always loved, the way that always relaxed you, calmed you.
“True,” you whispered. He slowed his movements and squeezed you, his way of letting you know he was listening. “I don’t want you to see other girls...”
You felt his lips sink into your hair and you sighed contently. You didn’t expect an answer.
“True,” he murmured, his voice muffled by your hair. He leans down and presses a kiss to your temple before breathing, “good, because I don’t want you to see other guys...”

Chance Meetings- Morgan Rielly Chapter 7
Tumblr media
Chapter 7
Word count: 3.2 k
Warning: some mature content
October 14th, 2018
The boys flew in late last night. When Morgan mentioned that he wanted to get dinner with a couple of teammates I had just assumed that it would be a triple date with Lucy, Jake, Mitch and Steph. However once Auston heard Lucy explaining the plans to Jake while on the phone he quickly invited himself. Our plans of a triple date quickly turned into Auston, and Freddie joining in.
Morgan suggested going to Soho house because it’s a members only club that way the fans wouldn’t interrupt dinner, everyone quickly agreed with Morgan.
Since Morgan and I started dating we have not gone out for dinner in a restaurant, we usually either made dinner or ordered takeout.
Flipping through my closet, I didn’t know what I should wear to the SoHo house seeing as it was a members-only club would I need to dress fancier.
I quickly pulled out my phone and called Lucy.
“Hey Lucy, how are you?” I asked as soon as she picked up the phone.
“Hails, I’m going to see you in less than 2 hours. You miss me that much you needed to call me?” Lucy asked teasing me.
“Haha funny, you should be a comedian. I was actually calling to see what you’re wearing tonight? Is it a fancy place or will I get away with Jeans and a nice top?”
“Ooohh that’s a good question. I will probably wear jeans and a nice top.”
“Perfect, see you soon Lucy.”
“See you soon Hails,” Lucy replied before she hung up the phone.
After talking to Lucy I had the perfect outfit in mind. I grabbed my blue jeans, a black V-neck t-shirt, and my grey plaid blazer. I quickly put on my makeup, curled my hair and was out the door and on my way to Morgan’s place in less than 30 minutes.
Tumblr media
Morgan phoned late last night insisting that I sat at his place tonight as he couldn’t last another night without me being in his arms…. dramatic I know. One thing that was noticeably different than Lucas was that Morgan was very verbal about these thoughts and feelings. With Lucas, I was always wondering and guessing but with Morgan, there was no guessing I always knew.
As soon as I got to his place, Morgan pulled me into his arms and into a deep kiss before I could even step into his apartment.
Pulling away he grabbed my hand into his left and grabbed my bag into his right before guiding me further into his place.
“ Well, I hope you don’t welcome all your guests like that haha. Congratulations on a successful road trip, four wins is amazing.” I stated as I kissed his cheek.
“Just you Babe. Thanks, It was a good team effort and a great way to start the first road trip of the season.” He replied as he picked me up into his arms and brought me to his couch.
“You know I can walk right?” I joked laughing.
“Maybe I just wanted to show off how strong I am.” He replied sticking his tongue out at me.
“Babe you don’t have to worry about that, I think your biceps are incredibly sexy. Especially when they are wrapped around me.” I said as I bit the corner of my lip in a teasing manner. “And when they bulge out of your T-shirt’s,” I added pretending to fan myself with my hand.
“God, you’re going to be the death of me,” Morgan stated before capturing my lips with his, his tongue slowly dancing across them begging to be let in.
Morgan quickly disconnected our kiss in order for him to take his shirt off before reconnecting our lips in a sloppy but passionate kiss. His hands slowly started to take off my blazer and shirt, while my hands fumbled with the button on his jeans.
What began as a slow and passionate kiss, turned hot and heavy pretty quickly? It was like we couldn’t get enough of each other. Which resulted in Morgan wrapping his arms around me, and picking me up off the couch with our lips still attached. He maneuvered us down his hallway making his way to the bedroom. Just as he placed me on the bed, His phone started ringing from his back pocket of his jeans interrupting the moment.
Pulling away out of breath Morgan quickly answered the phone in an aggravated tone “What do you want Jake?”
“Just making sure you guys are still coming tonight. I know you’re probably struggling to keep your hands off of her. And by the tone in your voice, I interrupted something didn’t I?”
“We are leaving now,” Morgan replied quickly hanging up the phone and rolling his eyes.
“I’m going to kill Jake.” He muttered before he softly kissed my lips. Standing up he pulled me into a standing position as well. We both walked back into the living room and started to get dressed again since our clothes were thrown around the TV room.
“God, I wish we could stay here all night, but our friends are waiting for us,” Morgan said still annoyed by the phone call interrupting us.
“Babe, it will be fun,” I said as I leaned up and kissed his lips before slowly walking away from him swaying my hips in a teasing manner.
“But this would be so much more fun than stupid dinner, but I guess we can continue this later?” stated Morgan as he lightly slapped my butt.
“Oh, you bet we will. I’m still hot and bothered” I replied turning around and winking at him.
‘That makes the two of us.’ Morgan muttered to himself as he pointed down to the tent that straining against his jeans.
“I’m going to have trouble keeping my hands off of you,” Morgan added as he placed his hand on my back gently guiding me out his door and toward the elevator.
The group was already there when we showed up causing the group to chirp us for being late.
“Look who finally decided to show up?” Teased Jake as he sent a wink my way.
“Sorry, he just couldn’t keep his hands off of me.” I teased as Morgan rolled his eyes at the teasing he was receiving both his teammates and from me.
He pulled out my chair for me before sitting down next to me, placing his hand on my lap underneath the table.
“Hails, I ordered us some rosé wine,” Lucy said as she winked my way.
“Thanks, Babe,” I said as I sent her a wink back in her direction.
I could hear Jake whisper to Morgan jokingly
“Dude our girls are already best friends we are in serious trouble.”
“Double trouble, they are basically the same person,” Morgan whispered back winking at me as our eyes locked.
Everyone sat around drinking, eating and laughing as we talked and got to know one another. Well, mostly me getting to know them and vice versa.
“Wait you played hockey?” Asked Freddie intrigued once I mentioned it.
Nodding my head I replied, “I started playing when I was about four years old and stopped playing after I graduated university.”
“Wow, what university did you play for? More importantly, what position did you play?” Questioned Auston.
“I played defense for the University of British Columbia,” I replied looking towards Morgan to see his reaction. In all the conversations we have had the fact that I played hockey never came up.
Morgan’s face lit up and he smiled as he squeezed my leg. He leaned in and whispered, “maybe we should have a game of one on one... see who is the better defenseman in our relationship.”
Nodding my head “Morgan, you are hands down the better player in the relationship.”
“Jesus, Mo you’re so lucky! I want a hot, athletic and smart nanny. Got any friends Hails? ” Auston asked as he sent a wink my way.
“Well Auston I have nanny friends I could set you up with but the thing is they take care of children all day they don’t want to date one as well,”  I said in a teasing manner.
“Omg, that was amazing,” Mitch exclaimed as he burst out laughing.
Everyone else started laughing including Auston.
“Mo, you got a good one. She is going to fit right in with us.” Auston replied as he leaned over the table to fist bump me.
Morgan’s hand gave my leg another squeeze as he smiled at me.
“Does anyone know when or where the team Halloween party is?” Asked Mitch.
“I believe it’s in our lounge after the Winnipeg game on the 27th” Freddie answered as he took a sip of his beer.
“I can’t believe we don’t have a game on Halloween this year, It's just too bad we play the next day against Dallas or we could have gone out.“ stated Auston.
“What are you doing for Halloween Hails?” Asked Lucy as she filled both of our wine glasses with more wine. A sign that both Lucy and I were going to get wine drunk.
“Morgan and I are actually going to go trick or treating with the Green’s,” I answered before taking another sip of my wine.
“You’re already invited to family events with her work family? You really have it bad for Hailey don’t you?” Teased Auston as both him and Mitch did the whipping motion.
Steph rolled her eyes at her boyfriend as she smacked his arm playfully.
Steph turned to both Lucy and I whispering so that the boys couldn’t hear “When are you guys free to go shopping for our costumes?”
“Well, I’m done work at 6:00 pm all this week so we can go anytime after that?”
“Perfect I’m done work at the same time.” Replied Steph.
“I can’t wait to see the boys faces when they see our costumes.” Smirked Lucy.
Morgan’s POV
I looked towards Hailey as she was in a deep conversation with the girls. I was so thankful that Hailey would have both Lucy and Steph to lean on for support navigating the life of being a Hockey Girlfriend.
“By the way Mo-daddy, if you can’t tell we think Hailey is perfect for you,” Mitch said.
I looked at the boys as they all smiled at me, agreeing with Mitch.
I nodded my head towards them as a silent thank you for their support. I knew that Hailey and I needed all the support we could get if any of the fangirls found out about us before we were a strong enough couple to withstand anything.
Hailey’ POV
I sat back quietly the rest of the dinner as I observed the friends interact with each other, only speaking when a question was directed to me.
From what I could tell Auston, Jake and Mitch were the loud and outgoing ones whereas Freddie was more like Morgan a mix of introvert and extrovert.
The dinner was a huge success in my opinion as both the boys and I had the opportunity to ask questions and get to know each other better.
……….......................................................................................
After the dinner was done Morgan and I headed to his place for the night. We were cuddling on the couch watching a Halloween F.R.I.E.N.D.S episode when Morgan paused the show and looked down at me asking “What are we going to dress up as this year for Halloween?”
“Well, actually...” I stammered kind of nervous to see his reaction. I had been practicing what I would say to him since we came up with the idea to do a girls costume. But now looking into his eyes, it made me sad that I could possibly be disappointing him. “Lucy, Steph, Christina and I are going to do a girls costume.”
“But Babe,” Morgan whined as he flashed me his best puppy dog pout. “I leave for a week and you totally forget about me. I really wanted to do a couples costume with you.” He said as he sighed and sent a wink my way to show me he was joking.
I couldn’t help but laugh at how dramatic Morgan was being. “Well it’s too late now, I already promised the girls that we would do a costume together. But how about we do a couples costume when you come over on Halloween to go trick or treating with me and the kids?” I asked.
“Fine.” He huffed again, pulling me into his arms to tickle me, which caused me to squeal as I laughed.
“Do I at least get to know what you guys are going to be dressing up as?”
“Nooopeeee.” I said dragging out the word “you will find out just like the rest of the boys... at the party.”
“Ugh! Can you at least tell me if you are going to dress up sexy?” He asked as he wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.
“No,” I exclaimed as I hit his arm laughing.
“You’re no fun.” He teased laughing as he threw me over his shoulder running towards his bedroom, and jumping on me after he threw me onto his bed.
“Morgan, your beard is tickling me!” I exclaimed giggling as he started rubbing his beard into the corner of my neck trying to tickle me.
He pulled away looking at me “babe, I thought you loved the beard?”
“I do, I just wasn’t prepared for it to tickle me at this very moment. I thought we were going to continue on where we left off before dinner.” I replied as I pulled his face towards mine deepening the kiss.
“Well, then I guess I have to rock your world that way you never forget about me when I am on road trips.” Morgan joked as he started peppering kisses down my neck lightly sucking.
He stopped right before my chest pulling away with a glint in his eyes and a smirk on his lips.
“Tease,” I whined jokingly just before he kissed my lips again.
Pulling away Morgan whispers “I promise you, you won’t be feeling this way when I’m done.”
Morgan slowly moved his way down my body giving sweet tender kisses as he slowly made his way to the place I needed his mouth on most.
................................................................................................
I laid in Morgan’s arms with my head on his bare chest, listening to his heartbeat as he Absentmindedly drew circles on my bare back.
“God, I really missed you.” Sighed Morgan as he looked down towards me. “Your little note was so adorable. Every time I missed you I looked at the note and smiled. Just knowing that I had my girl back home rooting for me and supporting me made me work just that much harder. Don’t tell the boys this but, I actually put  the note in my locker during the games and looked at it between periods for motivation.”
“Awe babe,” I said as I reached up and kissed him on the lips. “How did I get so lucky?”
“Seriously, I’m the lucky one. I still can’t believe you’re mine and that you agreed to this lifestyle for me.  I promise you I will never let you go.”  Morgan stated as he looked into my blue eyes.
Looking into Morgan’s Eyes there was so much passion behind them that I could tell that he meant what he said. That was one thing about Morgan, I never doubted his words because they were usually followed by his actions.
Before I knew what was happening Morgan flipped us over so that I was now lying underneath him as he passionately kissed my lips making his way down my neck lightly sucking causing a moan to slip out. I wouldn’t be surprised if he could feel the heat radiating from my core.
“please don’t make a mark,” I reply as another moan slips between my lips.
“No promises, being with you makes me not think clearly,” Morgan said with so much passion in his voice.
“Awe,” I said as I pulled his lips back to mine.
Morgan pulled away, leaning over me to pull open his side drawer to grab a condom. I watched as he rolled on the condom biting my lip in anticipation.
He lined himself up and slowly pushed himself into me. Looking me in the eyes as he moved our body’s in sync with each other. With one look into his ocean blue eyes, I could feel how much I really meant to him, more than words could ever say.
This intimate moment between both of us made me feel so much more connected with Morgan. I was falling fast and hard hoping he would catch me.
I fell asleep with my head on his chest and his arms wrapped tightly around me feeling happy and content. I could stay wrapped up in his arms forever.
.................................................………......................................
I woke up still wrapped up in Morgan’s arms as flashbacks of the night before came flooding through my brain. Just the thought of last night was enough to make me wet again, he definitely knows what he is doing and was the best I’ve ever been with.
As if he could feel me looking at him, he slowly opened his eyes a smile forming as soon as he saw me in his arms.
“Mmmmmm morning beautiful,” Morgan said his voice still full of sleep.
“Morning” I whisper as I started kissing my way towards Morgan’s abs.
“Jesus babe, that’s every guy's dream wake up. I really unleashed a monster last night.”
I nodded my head “if you don’t want me to crave it, you shouldn’t be so good.” I teased before I continued to make my way further down his body to the place I wanted most at this moment. I wanted him to feel as good as he made me feel last night.
“God, you’re amazing with your mouth,” Morgan said through his moans.
................................................................................................
I rolled out of Morgan’s arms and quietly climbed out of bed careful not to wake him up. I grabbed his t-shirt off the floor slipping it on before making my way to the kitchen to make us breakfast.
I searched through his kitchen cupboards until I found all the ingredients to make pancakes.
As I was stirring the pancake mix, I felt Morgan slip his hands around my stomach as he kissed the top of my head from behind. I put down the spatula and turned around and cuddled into his arms. I looked up as he slowly lowered his head to kiss my awaiting lips.
We pulled away from the kiss and I turned back towards the stove to finish up the pancakes as Morgan continued to have his arms wrapped around me from behind.
“You look so hot in just my shirt.”
“Hahaha, men.” I joked as I added some chocolate chips that I found into the bowl.
“What are you making?” Questioned Morgan as he peeked over my shoulder to see what was in the bowl.
“I’m making us chocolate peanut butter and banana pancakes,” I replied as I started pouring the batter onto the hot frying pan.
“I literally won the lottery with you, seriously your cooking and baking are to die for.” He said as he sent me a wink as he walked over to the coffee maker to make us coffees.

By the Way
-Y/N is best friends with Willy and is super close with the rest of the guys on the team. One night, during their Hockey Night in Canada watch party, Mitch comes over and they finally get to meet-
-Mitch/reader-
-Willy/Kappy-
Tumblr media
“Hey hon!” Willy calls from down the hall, waiting for me after my game. My face breaks into a smile when I see him and I pick up my pace. I drop my hockey bag and throw myself into his arms. He picks me up and spins me around.
Will and I are best friends, have been since our first year of high school. We were lab partners in ninth grade science and just clicked. The two of us have helped each other through everything and had each other’s backs throughout. We’ve had arguments, but it’s always been the two of us against the world. He tells me everything and I was the first he told about his feelings for Kap.
“Great game, babe,” he whispers. He, along with our closest friends on the Leafs, manage to make it to most of my University hockey games despite their busy schedules. It was a tight game, tied at 2 at the end of the second, but I managed to score the game winning goal with seconds left in the third period.
“Thanks, Willy,” I say, grinning wide. “But it’s only Uni. Nothing like the NHL.”
Will shakes his head, throwing an arm loosely around my shoulders. “You’d be so much better than 99% of the guys in my league. I’m the one percent you’re not.”
I punch Will in the ribs lightly for that comment, earning a soft “oof”. We laugh as we make our way out of the arena. “Kap went to get the car with Auston and Zach, the rest of the guys will be coming over later.”
I nod, wondering how our Saturday Night Hockey Party got arranged at mine and Auston’s place. Again. “Who’s coming this time?”
“Uhh, other than these guys, Freddie, Mo, Travis, and Connor.”
He pauses for a second, looking at me out of the corner of his eye. “And Mitch.”
“Really?! Oh that’s awesome, I finally get to really talk to him!” Once Will made it to the Show, we stayed super tight. He introduced me to all his best friends on the team and around the league, but I’ve never been able to have more than a quick conversation with Mitch.
Will laughs and adjusts my bag on his shoulder as we near the car and releases his arm from around me as I run towards Kasperi. “Y/N!” he exclaims as he pulls me into his arms. “Nice goal, babe!” He releases me to pull Will into his arms and he plants a kiss on his boyfriend’s lips.
“Hey hon,” Auston wraps his arms around me from behind, causing me to jump before I relax into his arms. “Hey, Aus,” I giggle. He turns me around and gives me a tight squeeze before letting me finish my hellos.
“Y/N!” Zach calls as he runs around the car from the opposite side. He picks me up, throws me over his shoulder, and runs in circles as I hit and punch at his back light-heartedly.
“Zach put me down! Hyms!”
“MVP! MVP! MVP!” He chants, ignoring my protests. I give up and shake my head as the boys whoop and cheer. They’re basically my brothers and I love them so much. I’ve never had many friends other than Will and a few other guys in high school, but around these guys, I feel loved. They’re my only family. Zach suddenly throws me into Auston’s arms, who proceeds to gently put me back on my feet before pulling my back against his chest.
“Ready to go, guys?” Will is leaning against the passenger side door with Kasperi, watching the scene unfold. Nobody responds, but we all pile into Kasperi’s unnecessarily huge car. Auston pulls me directly next to him in the back seat with his arm tightly around my shoulders.
“Missed you,” he sighs as he relaxes against me.
“Missed you too, babe,” I say, resting my head on his shoulder. “That game wore me out.”
Auston hums in response. “Nice sweater,” he comments, playing with the sleeve of my Leafs sweatshirt, a birthday gift from him.
“Oh shut up,” I hit his hand lightly and he laughs.
“So,” Zach starts from next to me. “Excited to meet Mitch?” Kasperi laughs from the drivers seat at the question and Auston kicks the back of his seat while tightening his arm around my shoulders.
“I’ve met him be-“
“He’s excited to meet you!” Kasperi says, which receives a slap on the arm from Will and a glare from Zach.
“Don’t worry about him, he’s high on Willy’s cologne.” Auston explains.
“It is kind of strong, Nylander,” I chirp.
“Would you be quiet, Y/N?”
Auston’s phone rings and Mitch’s name comes up. Auston picks it up, glancing at me as he raises the phone to his ear. “Hey, Mitch, what’s up?”
“What do I wear? Do I bring anything? Auston I don’t know what to do I’m fr-“ he stiffens next to me and I shoot a questioning look at him.
“Mitchy, shut up. We’re in the car and everyone can hear you. We’re 2 minutes away from Y/N’s, okay? I’ll call you back.”
I look at Auston with a question mark on my face, which he dismisses with a wave of his hand.
•••
The buzzer sounds as me and the guys finish putting beers, chips, and pizza on the coffee table. We’ve set the living room up with two couches and a bunch of pillows and blankets. By the end of the night, through elbows and stretched legs, half the group ends up on the floor, so tonight we got the pillows beforehand.
“Auston, get the door!” Without a response I hear loud footsteps run to the door before he swings it open and a chorus of the boys’ voices sound through the house. I smile at Will as the three of us stand up and move to welcome in the guys. I watch as Auston fist-bumps or hugs each of the guys until he gets to Mitch. I bite my lip to keep in a gasp. I’ve talked to him before, but he’s been in all his hockey gear and really rushed. He takes off his jacket and hands it to Kasperi who brings all the jackets to the closet. He’s wearing a white Nike sweatshirt with tighter-fitting green sweatpants. His hair is swept lazily to the side with a few strands falling forwards. He smiles wide at Auston as he pulls him into his arms and holds him tight.
I’m pulled out of my daze when Freddie taps my shoulder to get my attention. “Hey,” he says with a soft smile on his face.
“Freddie!” I wrap my arms around his mid-section and the bigger guy wraps his arms around my shoulders. “How are you? I missed you.”
He smiles at me as he pulls away. “I’m good. He couldn’t stop rambling all the way here.” Freddie nods his head in Mitch’s direction, who’s now in conversation with Willy. “He’s really excited to finally get to know you.”
I smile as Freddie tucks a stray piece of hair behind my ear. Then he pouts and gives me puppy eyes. “Why’d you put your hair up? I like it when it’s out.”
I raise an eyebrow at him as he pulls the elastic band off of my ponytail. He smiles at me in satisfaction as my hair falls to just below my shoulders. I shake my head as he makes his way into the living room. I say my hellos to the rest of the guys who have just arrived and turn my attention back to Auston, Willy, Kappy, and now Mitch. I smile at the first three and my gaze lingers at Mitch. Before he notices me looking at him, he’s watching me with a soft look on his face. When I catch him, he looks at the floor at pulls out his phone to scroll through nothing.
I step forward until I’m standing in front of him and smile up at Mitch. He’s still taller than me, but not as tall as the other guys. “Hey, Mitch.” I say, unsure of whether I should hug him or not.
“Hey,” he grins shyly. He glances over my shoulder at Auston before pulling my into a tight hug. It feels right, like this isn’t the first time we’ve talked to each other outside the locker room. When we’ve pulled away, the two of us look at each other for a second too long that should be awkward, but it isn’t. My chest constricts and my temples throb with the way he’s looking at me, but I choose to ignore it. He’s a friend, that’s it. If that.
“Y/N,” Auston drags out my name. “You’re gunna miss puck drop!”
I lead Mitch into the living room where the guys have all taken their usual places. Willy and Kappy are snuggled into one side of the first couch with Freddie and Connor next to them. Morgan and Travis are on the floor with their backs against the table, facing the TV. Auston is on one side of the second couch, saving just enough room for Mitch and I. I take my place next to Auston and Mitch slides in next to me. Hockey night is extremely informal for the group, but one rule we’ve always had is nobody can start food or drinks before everyone else gets settled in. It’s kind of dumb, but we’ve always done it.
“Lets go Bruins!” I joke as I reach for a chip, knowing the overreaction I’ll receive from my friends. Auston punches my arm, Travis turns around and fires a couple pieces of popcorn in my direction, Freddie throws a pillow at my head, and the rest of the guys boo and yell at me. We all laugh and scream at each other. Screwing around with each other is tradition, one that Mitch quickly jumps on board with.
“Marchand’s a catch.” Mitch announces, which makes me laugh from pure shock. The rest of the guys laugh despite themselves and I feel Mitch relax against me.
Travis turns around when the commentators on the TV turn to commercial to reach for a slice of pizza and everyone follows suit.
“No pineapple? Damn you guys suck,” Mitch jokes. I smile at him as I reach for a piece.
“I know right? Auston never lets me order it!”
“Well then maybe you and I should get pineapple pizza together sometime,” Mitch jokes. I choose to ignore the way my stomach swoops and my cheeks heat with the idea of going out with Mitch one-on-one.
“Mhm,” I hum, trying to contain myself. As I sit back, Auston places his hand just above my knee to try to calm me down. I grin at him and put all my focus on the TV, listening to the annoying commentators seconds before puck-drop.
Mitch hands me a beer when he sits back and when our hands brush against each other, sparks shoot up my arm. Calm your shit, it’s just Mitch.
•••
The first period flies by and nothing extraordinary happens. At break, I stand up to gather a few dishes and organize empty pizza boxes. Will follows me to the kitchen and sits at one of the stools at the island to watch me clean up.
“If you’re just gonna sit there, why don’t you help me?” I say as I throw paper plates in the garbage.
“Nah I’m good. How do you like Mitch?”
I swallow hard and tense, but take a breath to relax myself. “He’s cool.”
“Cmon, Y/N, I know you like him.”
“What are you talking ab-“
“Y/N, I’ve known you forever, I can tell what you’re thinking by now. And just so you know, he feels the same way.”
I scoff. “No he doesn’t! He just met me!”
“You just met him, too, but okay.” Will puts his hands up in mock-surrender.
I frown at Will, leaning against the counter across from him. “Mitch is cool, and yeah okay he’s pretty cute and maybe I have a thing for him, but nothings gonna happen. It’s me. When was the last time something worked out with a guy in my favour.”
“Hey, it’s their loss,” he says, pulling me into his arms. “I’ll drop it, okay? Let’s go enjoy the game.”
I follow Willy back into the living room where conversation abruptly stops when we enter. Auston grabs my hand and pulls me down next to him before I can change my mind.
We watch the second period, jumping up and yelling at the TV like the absolute children we are. Suddenly, the puck lands in the back of Boston’s net and the bunch of us jump up and celebrate. Auston stands up next to me and high-fives me, then once I’ve turned my attention away, he pushes me.
I fall into Mitch, who proceeds to cooly wrap his arms around me to help keep me upright. “Hey,” he whispers, so close to each other our noses are brushing.
“Hey, Mitchy.”
After tons of flirting and getting to know each other all night, there’s something in the air between us. For a second, I think he leans in, but only for a second. He abruptly lets me go and I step back to sit down.
After a couple seconds of staring at the TV, Mitch grabs my wrist and pulls me towards him. He plants his lips on mine and kisses me. It’s the best feeling in the world. For the few seconds, I feel like there is nobody else in the world, like we’re the only two people in the room. When we pull away for air, his face breaks into a gentle smile and I mirror him.
We’re brought back to reality when the guys start whooping and cheering. “Yes Mitch!” “Finally!” “So cute.”
We laugh and sit back down, closer to each other than before. “I like you, by the way,” he says.
“Oh really? I didn’t know.”
The room laughs and I smile at Mitch. I’m the happiest I’ve been, surrounded by my best friends and the guy I have very strong feelings for.
“You’re still my roomie, though,” Auston chirps, and Mitch puts his arm around me.

My Side of the Fence Part Fourteen: A.M. Imagine
Warning: Slight smut in this chapter towards the end.
One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight Nine Ten Eleven Twelve Thirteen
It had been over a week since Auston and Savannah had been together and it was driving him crazy. He didn’t realize how much he craved everything about her. With his parents heading out of town and her break in between competitions, he was hopeful they would be able to spend time together and pick things up after their rough ending to Montreal. When she tried to avoid the fact that he watched her competition, and then successfully dodged his offer to seat her parents with his at a future game, he knew he was back on shaky grounds and was pushing her too far too fast.
After the night at the restaurant before they went to Montreal, he thought that maybe he would have some more space to work with. If she was willing to do something like that in a public setting, albeit discretely, he had started to hope that maybe she was opening herself up to being more public with him in general. Everything that happened in Montreal clearly kiboshed that hope and now he felt like he was back at square one.
They had talked sparingly throughout the week, but had not made any plans to see each other. Auston had suggested it the day after they got back from Montreal, but she claimed that she was busy. He didn’t doubt her, but he also felt like saying that she could have plans during the day and still see him at night. But, baby steps felt important now, as frustrating as it was. He wanted everything that happened between them to be on her terms and not because he pushed.
He was finally seeing her today, but for a group event of going to a pumpkin patch. Their group consisted of Mitch, Steph, Jake, Lucy, Morgan, and William. Auston was happy to have Mo and Willy there so that Savannah felt more comfortable and not like it was a couples thing. What he hadn’t expected was for her to completely avoid him once they were at the pumpkin patch. He couldn’t help but take it personally when she stayed on the opposite side of wherever he was. He stayed close to Mo, trying not to show his annoyance as she walked ahead, arm linked with Steph’s.
“What’s up?” Mo asked, walking a hair slower to keep a distance between them and the rest of the group.
“What do you mean?”
“Dude, no offence, but you have the biggest resting bitch face of anyone I’ve ever met and the only time it’s usually not there is when you’re around Savannah. It’s back today.”
Auston sighed. How could he explain why he was so bothered without seeming like a petulant child who wasn’t being given enough attention? Even though Mo could definitely give shit with the best of them, Auston knew that when it was time to be serious, Mo was one of the best people to talk to.
“Man, I fucking hate this,” he decided to just be honest. He explained everything, from the other night at the restaurant all the way until the end of their trip to Montreal. Mo listened carefully, giving Auston a look whenever his voice raised above more than a whisper, always cautious of anyone who knew them overhearing personal information.
“Okay, I get being annoyed about Montreal, but what’s the deal with today? She’s barely paid you a second glance.”
“Exactly!” Auston exclaimed, cringing when Mo’s blue eyes widened at him in warning and lowering his voice when he spoke again. “That’s exactly what I’m upset by. She’s all over me when it’s just the two of us, and now that we’re out in public, she barely acknowledges my existence. I’m not asking her to hold my hand, but she could at least talk to me. I thought we were supposed to still be friends.”
Mo nodded thoughtfully. The more he hung around Savannah, the more he felt like she was opening up with them and he was getting to know her. And after listening to Auston’s stories, he had a feeling he knew what could be happening that day.
“Not to be that person, but you did agree to keep things under wraps, right?”
“Yeah, of course,” Auston conceded, watching as Savannah, Steph, and Lucy posed with mini pumpkins, still out of earshot. Even in his annoyance, he still couldn’t help but notice the way her eyes lit up as she laughed with her friends. “But I didn’t realize that meant she would treat me like I had the fucking plague.”
Before Mo could respond, he heard a chatter of young girls nearby and wondered if they had been recognized. It took less than a minute to realize these young girls didn’t care whatsoever about the Leafs players; they were only interested in Savannah.
“Oh my gosh! You’re Savannah Lane,” one of the girls squealed, hands reaching up to cover her face in excitement. They watched as Savannah’s face instantly changed. Her smile was still just as warm, but the light in her eyes started to fade a little, now a little more closed off.
“I am!” Savannah laughed lightly. “Are you girls skaters?”
“Yes! We skate with the Newmarket Community Centre,” a second, slightly taller girl answered.
“Wow! Good for you. I love meeting other skaters,” Savannah spoke to them like they were comrades, colleagues, friends even. Auston couldn’t help but be impressed at her ability to simultaneously close part of herself off and remain so personable.
“Can we get your autograph?”
“Of course! Do you have a pen and something to write on?” Mitch and Willy walked over to Mo and Auston as Savannah signed random items, including mini pumpkins for her young fan club.
“It’s kind of nice not being the ones recognized, eh?” Mitch asked, tossing a mini pumpkin of his own back and forth in his hands.
“I heard the girls and immediately thought they were coming for Willy,” Auston laughed, thinking back to their rookie season and the Christmas Market experience.
“Not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed when they didn’t,” Will laughed. “Bruised the ego a bit.”
“Is one of these guys your boyfriend?” one of the girls asked Savannah as she signed her last pumpkin and handed it back. Auston waited, only slightly embarrassed at how badly he wanted to hear her answer.
“Nope, just a bunch of friends out for the day,” Savannah smiled. Not surprised by her answer, Auston still felt a twinge of disappointment. “Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to say hi. Enjoy the rest of visit!” Savannah thanked the young girls and waved as they all walked away, excitedly shrieking over meeting their idol.
Auston watched carefully as Steph linked her arm through Savannah’s and whispered something in her ear, almost as a comforting gesture. Savannah laughed gently, but he noticed that the light in her eyes from before the girls recognized her still had not reappeared. He tucked that piece of information away for later.
__
A few hours later when the group decided to leave, Savannah surprised Auston by asking Mitch to just drop her off at his place instead of her own. He was obviously happy to have her over, but after the way the day had gone, he fully expected to be going home alone again.
Nothing was said in the elevator up to his apartment. Nothing was said as they removed their jackets and shoes at his front door. Nothing was said as Savannah went to the bathroom and Auston moved to the kitchen to grab two glasses of water. And nothing was said when Savannah walked into the kitchen and wrapped her arms around his torso from behind and smushed her face into his back. Auston squeezed her arms around his stomach and waited for her to speak. When nothing came, he loosened her grip and turned around in her arms to face her. He tilted her chin up with his thumb and forefinger, forcing her to meet his inquiring eyes.
It was then that he noticed for the first time how exhausted she looked. His curious gaze turned to concern as he swiped gently at the bags underneath her eyes. Usually it was her teasing him for his bags.
“You okay?” he whispered, almost like any loud noises or sudden movements would cause her to retreat from him in her fragile state.
She nodded wordlessly and buried her face into his solid chest, burrowing herself into him as if she were trying to hide. Auston, still confused, felt a swell of pride erupt in his chest at her clearly seeking him out for some sort of comfort. He was happy to be a source of peace for her. He wrapped his arms tightly around her shoulders and placed his lips on the top of her head, giving her little kisses here and there. They stood like that, wrapped around each other in his kitchen, for what felt like hours but was only about five minutes. Savannah was the first to pull away slightly, her arms still wrapped around the small of his back.
“I’m sorry about today,” she whispered, looking up to meet his eyes.
“What about today?” he raised his hands to cup her cheeks softly. Savannah sighed. She should have expected him to pretend like he wasn’t hurt by her actions. He always seemed to be looking out for her feelings.
“I’m sorry for avoiding you today,” she searched Auston’s face for any indication that he was upset with her. All she got in return was a small smile and a peck on the lips.
“I hated every second of it,” he smirked teasingly, trying to put her at ease. Savannah laughed gently. How did she get so lucky?
“I know.”
“So what happened? What was with the invisible wall between us?” Auston couldn’t help but pry. As much as he didn’t want her to be upset, and seeing her exhausted state made him want to forget that anything about this day had bothered him for her sake, he wanted to know if this is something he should expect for future outings so he could prepare himself. He knew what he agreed to at the very beginning of this and didn’t want to her think he was going back on that.
Savannah sighed and moved out of his warm, comforting embrace.
“The fans that were there could have recognized both of us. All it takes is for one of them to post something online and it would take over my entire narrative. In your sport I feel like people don’t care as much, but the skating world is tiny and not quite as newsworthy, so they’ll pick up anything,” Auston watched as she paced back and forth in his kitchen. “Plus, I am currently what Skate Canada calls ‘Canada’s Sweetheart’ which is a term that makes me want to revolt, but I get it. And it’s what they want to keep pushing, so I have to go with it.”
“So being seen with a hockey player makes you less of their sweetheart?” Auston was confused.
“Possibly. I don’t know. I just know it becomes a story somewhere in there.”
“What’s the big deal with a rumour though? Can’t you just address it and say that’s all it is - just a rumour?”
“Is that how rumours work in your world?” she stopped pacing to face him.
“Well, yeah. No one really cares who hockey players date. Once in a while there’s a story, but it rarely lasts more than a week, if that,” he shrugged. She had to have known this from her years of friendship with McDavid, right?
Savannah just shook her head and walked towards Auston’s bathroom. “I’m going to wash my face.”
Auston usually waited for her to finish, but he wanted an explanation, so he followed her into his bathroom and sat on the toilet while he watched her wipe her make-up off. He had found her pack of make-up wipes the other day and was happy she was starting to leave a few things at his place.
“Come on Sav, what’s really going on here?”
She sighed, dropping the make-up wipe into the trash can. She leaned her back against the counter and folded her arms across her chest.
“Do you want the long or the short version?” she asked as she pulled the sleeves of her white henley down to cover her hands.
“Whatever version you’re willing to share.”
“During my first quad, I was really young. I was 17 when I participated in my first Olympics. You don’t know it unless you’re in it, but because the skating community is so small, there’s a lot of drama and I always tried really hard to avoid it but then I started dating another skater when I was 16. It was really brief, only a few months, but there were rumours that we broke up because he was cheating on me with another skater. These blogs wrote that he had used and manipulated me, I guess as a young naive girl, and then moved on to someone who could give him what I couldn’t or wouldn’t.”
Auston sat motionless, waiting for her to continue, but inside he was seething. What a disgusting thing to do to someone so young.
“The thing was, he didn’t use me at all. We were really good friends and we thought we wanted to date. I broke up with him because I just wasn’t feeling it and he was fine with that. He did end up dating another skater who was his age shortly after, but the timeline just made people assume that’s what happened. So that was my first introduction into that world of rumours.”
She paused as if mulling over what she wanted to say next. Auston waited.
“And then, during my next quad, before I started dating Dylan, I became really good friends with Brian and Claire. Do you remember meeting Brian that day at the beach?”
Auston shook his head.
“Maybe I didn’t introduce you. He was my volleyball partner.”
“Yeah, I remember now,” he nodded. How could he forget? Auston had been watching this girl with an incredible body make a huge spike and then be lifted into the arms of a some blonde fratboy. Turns out the fratboy was a figure skater. Who knew?
“Well, Brian and Claire were an ice dancing team at the time. Everyone always assumed they were dating, like what people do with Scott and Tessa, but they didn’t care. The closer we got, the more we hung out outside of the rink. Brian is really affectionate, so we were photographed, unfortunately without Claire, with his arm around me one day and it all went crazy from there. I was suddenly a homewrecker, it was my fault they weren’t performing well that season, it was my fault they weren’t in consideration to make the Olympics, and I was just this ice princess who didn’t care about anyone or anything except her career. It was…awful.”
Auston rose, seeing her start to shake. It took a lot to break Savannah’s cool exterior. He approached her at the sink, pulling her arms away from her body and wrapping her in a big hug, resting his cheek against to top of her head. He rubbed his hand up and down her back to soothe her, feeling her tension start to melt away under his warm hands.
“What happened after that?” he asked, though he wasn’t sure he really wanted to know the answer.
“Skate Canada came down really hard on me for it, worried it would affect my sponsorships and public persona. They understood that I didn’t do anything wrong and believed what I was saying, but there needed to be a change.”
He pulled back and cupped her face in his hands. “So, that’s where all of this narrative stuff comes from?”
“Pretty much,” she nodded.
“I’m sorry, baby,” Auston leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead before pulling her into a hug again.
“Don’t be. What could you have done?”
He shook his head slightly and pulled away to look at her.
“Not for what happened to you, although I am sorry that it did happen and you had to go through that. But that’s not what I’m apologizing for.”
“Then what are you apologizing for?” Savannah’s brow crinkled in confusion. Auston smiled slightly, rubbing his thumb against her forehead wrinkles to soothe them away.
“For being upset with you for avoiding me today. I can see now why you did it, but also that you could tell I was unhappy about it. I didn’t mean to make you feel guilty for protecting yourself.” I should be protecting you, too, he wanted to say.
“I’m sorry for being so extreme about it. I just don’t want to drag you into any of it.”
“I get it. Thank you for telling me about that.”
“Thank you for listening,” she smiled up at him as he leaned down to kiss her.
When they pulled away, they stood in the bathroom smiling at each other, neither making a move. Auston was so happy with how much she had opened up to him; Savannah was so relieved that he was so understanding.
“Want to make some popcorn, grab some blankets, and watch a movie?” Auston asked, already pulling her by her hand back into his living room.
“Mhm. But only under one condition,” she followed along willingly, looking forward to the snuggles she knew she was about to receive.
“Anything,” he responded, turning back to her before they reached the couch.
“Can I have some of your clothes to change into?” she smiled almost shyly at him and his heart soared.
“As if you needed to ask,” he laughed. “Go grab anything you want from my room and I’ll make the popcorn,” he tapped her on the butt as he shooed her away.
Hours later, Auston awoke to Savannah’s hot mouth on his neck. They were a mess of limbs on his large couch after having fallen asleep during the movie, both facing each other with their arms wrapped around each other and their legs tangled.
His body responded to her touch instantly and he pulled her hips closer to his so she could feel her affect on him. His eyes opened when he felt her movements stop, wondering what happened. His curious eyes met her laughing ones.
“What?”
“You really are so easy sometimes,” she laughed. All it had taken was one neck kiss and he was more than ready for her. She would never admit it out loud, at least not any time soon, but she loved that about him.
Her laughter caught in her throat as Auston flipped them over swiftly, her landing on her back on his couch.
“I bet,” he paused for effect and to place a kiss just under her pulse, “that I can have you writhing beneath me and screaming my name in under five minutes.”
“Oh really?”
“Really,” he nodded confidently. Hell, even if he was wrong, he was just happy to have the chance. He wanted her to be as easy and as gone for him as he was for her, and he wanted - no, he needed - to see it happen right in front of him.
“I’m not sure I have that same confidence, but I’m 100% willing to let you try,” she shrugged as if she were doing him a favour. He laughed at the smug look on her face and leaned down to kiss her passionately, his hand wandering down his large sweatpants she wore to her heat where he could feel her already soaked panties.
“I am happy to report,” he mumbled against her lips, slipping a finger inside and relishing in the gasp that escaped from her already panting lips, “that you are clearly just as fucked for me as I am for you, baby.” Before she could respond, he kissed her again, one hand continuing to work down below and the other snaking up her torso to cup a breast. Savannah sighed into his mouth before pulling away, eyes darting back and forth between his as she tried to regulate her breathing.
“You have three minutes now so I suggest you stop talking and get to work,” she playfully ordered, moaning loudly when he unexpectedly slipped a second finger inside.
Auston smirked. He curled the fingers inside of her up towards her stomach and felt her start to shake around them. He moved his thumb to her clit and rubbed small circles as she writhed beneath him, hands gripping his biceps. An almost imperceptible “Auston” escaped her lips and he amped up his efforts, needing to hear her say his name that way again. He was not disappointed. Her legs started to shake and he felt her clench around his fingers. He placed gentle kisses all over her face and neck as her whole body was taken over by the sensation. When she calmed down and her breathing was slightly back to normal, he pulled his fingers out and brought them to his lips. She watched in awe, not yet able to speak.
“So that was what? Four minutes?” he smirked, pretending to check his watch. He was happy to see the afterglow replace the exhausted look in her green eyes from earlier.
“Just shut up and kiss me,” Savannah demanded, pulling his head back down to hers for a searing kiss.
And just like that, this day turned out to be pretty good for both of them after all.

Damage- Auston Matthews
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH OKAY THANK YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!
So maybe (Y/N) had a hard time understanding where life would take her, she after all was in her 20′s and apparently according to everyone around her. That is supposed to be her stupid period where she can make mistakes and live her life to the fullest.
Yet, as soon as (Y/N) had moved to Toronto in the summer before her school year started. (Y/N) had never felt more alone.
She had joined the University of Toronto and it was exciting, especially since she had never left home a day in her life like this at all.
Surely it was supposed to be fun and independence was a thing she had to learn, so that summer she adjusted and slowly started gaining friends in order for her not to be lonely.
An easy thing to do in a city like Toronto, so (Y/N) forced herself to be social and that meant going into clubs she didn’t remember the name of by the end of the night. It was fine with her because that’s how she became friends with Freddie Andersen and why she was currently in his apartment playing scrabble.
“You fucking cheater” (Y/N) said to Freddie who just laughed at her before placing an E on the board earning him a triple word score. “How do you cheat in scrabble (Y/N)?” Freddie asked his friend who just shrugged before looking at her letters.
“You know what this is bullshit I don’t even like scrabble who suggested this?” (Y/N) asked in a defeated tone, she hated to be defeated in any way possible. Freddie rolled his eyes at his over dramatic friend before getting her a cup of water.
“What’s this for Freddie?” (Y/N) asked before grabbing the cup and taking sips out of it before Freddie replied with a “you seemed thirsty”. The subtle jab making (Y/N) wonder why she was friends with the goalie, he was quiet but honestly that was just because of the media in Toronto being annoying.
Freddie laughed before getting a text and seconds later, six guys busted into the living room surprising the two of you. “What the fuck I gave you guys that key for an emergency” Freddie said to the group of guys who were looking at him expectantly.
“It is an emergency, Kappy is finally going to do it” A blonde piped up within the group, the proclamation of this making Freddie pop up and get his coat. All of the guys filing out while Freddie grabbed (Y/N)’s hand and bringing her along with the group before locking his door.
“Kappy! Kappy! Kappy!” The group chanted along with (Y/N), who was informed by the same blonde who said that Kappy is finally going to do something, what was going on. Whose name she learned was Morgan but everyone just called him Mo, he was a slight instigator but not meaning anything behind it and honestly was a generally funny guy.
(Y/N) had also met the rest of the group whose names she all learned, eyes lingering on Auston’s for just a little bit too long. He was attractive to her what could she say?
(Y/N) shook her head of the thoughts of the pretty brunette before continuing to chant for Kappy in order to eat one of the biggest cheeseburgers she’d ever seen. Learning that the burger just wasn’t a burger but a ‘I’m getting over my ex girlfriend, Annika, burger’ since she was vegan and meat was the last thing she’d ever touch.
This burger meant more than just earning a spot on the wall of a cool restaurant in Toronto, it meant getting over his ex. (Y/N) was in full support of this and when he accomplished eating everything, everyone cheered for him. Everyone happy that he could finally do it.
The group talked while Kappy was getting his picture taken, the pretty brunette (Y/N) couldn’t stop thinking about soon started up a conversation with her. “Wow you really are a nerd” he said in reference to her Star Wars shirt she currently had on.
“Hey fuck you Star Wars fucks” (Y/N) defending her movie before the brunette laughed before revealing that he was Auston. Names being all jumbled up in her head so she was thankful for the fact that Auston told her his name again.
“Explain those prequels then” Auston said to her, (Y/N) opening up her mouth to defend her movies when she realized something. “So you have watched them!” (Y/N) replied wondering how he had the audacity to make fun of her for something he was very much guilty for himself.
“You know what, I’m not going to tell you. I like to make people wonder sometimes” Auston explained.
(Y/N) smiled, she was completely fucked by this boy and she knew it.
“Auston what the fuck, why did you go into my Instagram DMs?” (Y/N) shouted at Auston who was looking grumpily at her. They had reached their one year mark and were supposed to be celebrating today, that’s not how it worked out. “Yeah apparently you’ve been going through the whole NHL” Auston retorted while trying not to yell.
“Just because I message a guy doesn’t mean shit, I have friends too. You have girls lined up for you and trust you” (Y/N) confessed showing an insecurity she never wanted to show. She was usually so confident when it came to Auston.
Not when the girls pictures he liked looked like models, not when they have history, and especially when they give (Y/N) a look of ‘I feel so sorry for you not knowing what’s going on behind your back’. She was kind of fed up with everything but not when Auston didn’t trust her and she trusted him, even with him giving her every reason not to.
“You know what I thought I could trust you but what is this?” Auston asked pulling a message on her phone with Clayton Keller telling her that he was “so excited to see her in Arizona”. (Y/N) snatched her phone from Auston’s grip before going through her phone and pulling up an email on her.
Soon (Y/N) threw her phone on the table and went into their basically shared bedroom while Auston read her phone. The email congratulating her on being accepted to a prestigious internship in Arizona, a once in a lifetime opportunity. Auston soon scrolling through the messages with Clayton realizing he had fucked up and it was more harmless than he thought.
That realization coming too late when (Y/N) walked out of their bedroom with a suitcase and a puck from a game where he promised he scored for her. She set it down on the table before looking up at Auston with tears in her eyes, giving him a soft kiss before leaving.
Auston standing frozen in place not knowing what he could do at that very moment. She was obviously broken and fighting for her would be pointless, Auston had thought. So he stayed in place while he looked at a picture of the two on their third place, it wasn’t supposed to end like this.
“Auston” (Y/N) had smiled a radiant smile as she stood in front of her now ex boyfriend seemingly happier than ever at a mutual friends wedding. “(Y/N)” Auston said while eyeing the boy she showed up with. Blonde hair, green eyes, and seemingly the picture of perfection which from what Auston saw; it was perfection.
The first jab at Auston’s heart was how he looked at her and only her, something Auston knew he should’ve always done for her. Yet they both knew his wandering eye got the pair into a couple of fights during their relationship.
“Auston this is Tanner” (Y/N) smiled as she beamed at him, another jab because she never looked that happy with him. At least towards the end of their relationship, she looked miserable dating Auston and he felt bad he caused that.
“Hi I’m Aus-” Auston started before Tanner interrupted and said “Auston Matthews, pretty much everyone in the hockey world knows who you are man”. Tanner beaming due to him not being an asshole, making the plan that was forming in Auston’s plan all the much worse.
“Oh thanks, so how did the two of you meet?” Auston asked in order to be polite, he didn’t care about their relationship whatsoever. “We met during a movie showing of a film we both like, we started having movie nights and coffee shop talks and it bloomed from there” (Y/N) said before Tanner kissed (Y/N)’s temple causing her to scrunch up her face in happiness.
The two laughing causing the last and final jab to Auston’s heart he could take, he had to get Tanner away from (Y/N). He texted Mitch who soon enough distracted Tanner enough to let (Y/N) slip away from Tanner.
“Yes Auston” (Y/N) said with an irritated tone proving that she wanted to be anywhere else. “I miss you” Auston said reaching out to touch her, (Y/N) backing away knowing that she would be putty in his hands if he touched her. Soon Auston had her putty in his hands just like he had planned, silently thinking to thank Mitch and he owed him big time.
“Auston we can’t-” (Y/N) said to Auston while looking up at him due to their height difference. Yet (Y/N) was the one to lean in and kiss him with a fervor she hadn’t felt in a long time. Soon letting Auston take her in the bathroom while he covered her mouth with his hands in order to not let anyone know what they were doing.
Auston falling more in love with her and (Y/N) letting all of the emotions she had suppressed reach the surface again after they both came. Setting (Y/N) down and letting her fix her hair and walk out of the bathroom to leave Auston with his thoughts while he waited for an acceptable time to leave.
Seemingly he left at the perfect time due to her breaking up with Tanner before she went off to the girls while the guys accepted Tanner for the night. Auston being a major player in that because he knew that he was a major reason the two broke up in the first place.
“We’re going to create a deal Auston” (Y/N) had texted Auston, explaining that until they got their feelings sorted out for each other, that they would hook up every time she came back to Toronto and he was there. That way the tension can be released when she came back and there would be none.
Auston subsequently agreed knowing that (Y/N) would be the death of her.
(Y/N) smirked as she saw a girl that supposedly was supposed to go back home with Auston tonight brag to all of her friends about this. She saw it in her eyes and the way she was acting, she knew she was going to be Auston’s next conquest but Auston hadn’t seen (Y/N) yet.
That would change everything and probably ruin the pretty red headed girls night, and honestly (Y/N) didn’t care about her. She had missed Auston and after being away for 3 months due to work sending (Y/N) Arizona, she knew she had to see him tonight.
So she made a plan to look amazing and dress in a way that would make Auston weak for her, and when they finally saw each other in the crowded club. (Y/N) knew she had made the right decision for the night, especially due to Auston immediately gravitating towards her.
“(Y/N)” Auston said while blatantly checking her out meaning (Y/N)’s plan worked and the red headed girl was the last thing in Auston’s mind right now.  “Hi” (Y/N) said back before hugging Auston and pulling back to check him out noting his all black attire which also was matching hers.
“How was Arizona?” Auston asked before the red headed girl came back to try to get Auston’s attention. Not realizing that this was (Y/N) and that (Y/N) could easily ruin her self confidence with just one laugh. Which is also what happened because (Y/N) let out a bitchy laugh before smirking and looking at the red head.
“What?” The girl rudely asked (Y/N) before rolling her eyes and looking directly at Auston. “Sorry Samantha” Auston said before wrapping his arm around (Y/N) and pulling her close, meaning that anything they had going was immediately stopped by (Y/N) being there.
“Bye Samantha it’s so sad we couldn’t have talked more” (Y/N) said sarcastically before waving bye at the girl. The two of them looked at her until she broke out into a “whatever” Samantha said before turning away and searching throughout the club to look for the group of girls she was with.
“Anyways, Arizona was great Auston I had a ton of fun and actually ran into Clayton and he said hey by the way” (Y/N) explained to Auston knowing exactly what she was doing again. “Is that all that you guys did, talk?” Auston asked angrily meaning (Y/N)’s plan worked.
She wanted to make him jealous, maybe even a little pissed off, because she is the only person in the world who could possibly piss him off to the extent she does.
“Yeah and I ran into your parents, sweetest people still I see” (Y/N) replied causing Auston to smile. Auston’s parents really did love (Y/N), seeing her as a daughter in law already and they weren’t even technically dating. “So what are you doing in Toronto?” Auston asked another question causing (Y/N) to roll her eyes.
“What is this an interview? Come on let’s go back to my new apartment so that we can talk” (Y/N) said grabbing Auston’s hand and leading him back to her new apartment. The two doing more than talk but then again, they never just talked. The inevitable was unavoidable and they both knew it too.
“So I’m sitting there like what the fuck is happening, I started slipping and yeah it just wasn’t good” (Y/N) explained to the group of Leafs and their WAGs at brunch. Everyone laughing at (Y/N)’s recollection of one of her first times ice skating due to her being clumsy on the ice, which is funnier because she is friends with tons of NHL players who could teach her.
“You should learn to skate (Y/N), I could teach you” William Nylander telling (Y/N) since everyone was tired of her not knowing how to skate. This was especially due to her saying it’s okay and then moping while everyone else was having fun on the ice.
“Willie, I can easily teach her” Auston answered for (Y/N) before she shrugged and turned back to William and smiling at him. “Willie I would love that, don’t listen to Mr. Over Protective over there who never has time for me, and we could have some fun” (Y/N) said in a fake mocking tone.
(Y/N) soon winked at Willie who caught on fast and started insinuating that they would do more than learn how to skate. “(Y/N) maybe we have something to do that day” Auston said to the two who just looked at each other before turning back to Auston.
“Auston we didn’t even say a date yet” (Y/N) said trying to hold back a laugh before Willie smirked and slipped his arm behind (Y/N). “Okay but still and also-” Auston was about to say something else when he was interrupted by three fairly gorgeous fans.
“Hi can we take pictures with you guys” One with blonde hair asked while looking directly at Zach Hyman. “Sure” Mitch said to the girls who gave Steph the camera in order to take a picture with the guys.
“Auston can I just take a selfie with you” asked one of the girls to Auston, not missing the fact she was a gorgeous brunette who was one of those girls who was just hot. Auston smirking before nodding his head and actually smiling for once in a picture, causing (Y/N) to become angry.
He barely smiled for any of their photos, but here he was smiling for a random girl he just met and didn’t know the intentions of. (Y/N) rolled her eyes which Auston caught a glimpse of, making him more happy because he always seemed like the one to be jealous.
(Y/N) got annoyed but knew Auston wasn’t good with jealousy either so she went outside with Willie, they were close friends and they’d never try anything with him. Yet, (Y/N) wasn’t thinking straight and so she just went outside with him to calm down.
“(Y/N)?” Said Auston as he went outside to meet up with the two that left, not realizing he’d see Willie and (Y/N) kissing and his heart break into a thousand pieces.
“(Y/N)? Willie?” Auston asked causing the two to break apart and look at the broken boy. “Auston I-” (Y/N) reached out to him in order to take his hand, Auston soon flinching and moving away from the two.
He wanted an explanation but he also wanted to get as far away from the two as possible, he couldn’t do it right now. “I’m going to go now” Auston said before walking to his car, Auston not stopping to listen to the two screaming out for him.
Auston woke up with a leggy blonde next to him, becoming disgusted and angry with himself. This girl wasn’t (Y/N) and she may have been hot, but she wasn’t (Y/N) at all but then the feelings of yesterday popped up and soon he felt better.
“Austy” The blonde piped hugging him and trying to cuddle him, him shrugging her off him and soon telling her to leave. Her fingertips felt toxic and disgust slowly crept back into his conscious, he wanted her to leave faster but she took so long. He let out a sigh of relief when he was left alone, he had time alone to his thoughts which kept drifting back to (Y/N).
“Auston” Auston heard (Y/N) yell from his apartment, suddenly regretting the key he gave her but that was due to him being a little bit too overconfident about her coming back into his life.
“In here” Auston yelled knowing (Y/N) would continually look for him until she found him. Soon she was in front of his bed with a stern expression on her face, looking mad as he was looking at her. Their glares basically turning into daggers they wanted to take each other out with.
“We are going to talk about this right now, you can’t be mad at me for kissing someone and sleep with some random the next day are you fucking kidding me?” (Y/N) shrieked as her culminated anger with Auston boiled to the surface.
“I can do whatever I want, what are you my mother?” Auston snorted as he turned away from her icy stare. “No but I fucking care about you enough, I might as well be” (Y/N) replied back, soon crossing her arms over her chest.
“You care about me? That’s rich” Auston replied with a tone that signified he wanted her to hurt as much as he was right now.
“Yes why would I go through this with anyone else in the world unless I cared about them dumbass” (Y/N) countered. (Y/N) soon seeing Auston get up and roll his eyes before walking into his bathroom.
“Oh no you fucking don’t” (Y/N) said while putting her boot between the door in order to leave it open. “What (Y/N)? What could you possibly want right now, honestly fuck off” Auston replied with malice hoping to hurt her enough to leave.
“I have a key and I want to talk obviously, I can’t stop thinking of your face after everything that happened yesterday” (Y/N) said as she ran her hands through her hair.
“Okay so why’d you do it?” Auston asked quietly while looking at her expectantly like she could break with his next sentence. “I was jealous” (Y/N) admitted making Auston smile slightly, he was always afraid of their relationship just him showing constant jealousy. She felt it too, meaning that (Y/N) did care about what happened to them.
“Oh” Auston said as he tried to hide his smiling, (Y/N) soon catching meaning it was her turn to roll her eyes. “Listen both of us are miserable not being with each other, I care about you deeply so why don’t we just get back together?” (Y/N) asked Auston as she looked at him expectantly.
“I honestly have been miserable but I think are things we need to work on” Auston admitted as he looked at her. “Of course I kind of just miss you and life hasn’t been the same really” (Y/N) admitted.
Soon looking at him for the same kind of verbal confirmation, Auston just smiling down at her. “Okay fine, you are the only thing I think about” Auston admitted as he pulled her close and leaned down to kiss her.
(Y/N) soon pulled back before smiling at him, “whoa Matthews, I only kiss after the third date” (Y/N) said to Auston who smiled down at her.
“Let’s go ice skating, play scrabble, and go to a dog park then” Auston said knowing how she felt about each thing. (Y/N) laughed and smacked him lightly in the chest before smirking at him.
“Strangely enough that’s three dates, also I can’t skate. Scrabble is reserved for Freddie and if he found out I played with you, you’d be facing your death. Also, yes I’m always down for the dog park” (Y/N) said smiling at Auston while he got dressed.
The two joking around with each other before Auston took her hand and kissed her knuckles lightly. He promised himself he wouldn’t lose her this time, to try and keep her this time and (Y/N) meant to try the same for the sake of their relationship. They were going to try again in order to end up damaged.

🍼 - kid fic/(accidental) baby acquisition (your choice) for mitch/auston please!
the first thing mitch says when auston sees her is, “she’s not mine.”
his cousin just got married, he explains, and he’s just doing them a favor, so they can go on the honeymoon they’ve been planning for, like, years
“her name is abby,” mitch says, then she holds out her hand for auston to shake
he’s afraid he’s gonna, like, break it.
mitch complains that everyone keeps offering to, like, babysit the kid he’s babysitting
“i’m 20,” he complains. “i can take care of a six year old for two weeks, jeez.”
auston just keeps looking at her and thinking oh my gosh she’s a small person how is she so small does she know how small she is wow so small
auston isn’t that good with kids
mitch is very, very good with kids
mitch is especially good with abby.
auston’s there for like two hours and in that time, literally every teammate they have calls to check up on mitch
“literally no one is allowed over here because they like… hover,” mitch says. “like, she has parents? they trust me with her?”
auston agrees, because mitch is really good with this child.
the next day, mitch says, “hey, me and abby are going to the zoo and you’re the only one who’s not gonna be annoying about it, you should come with us”
mitch and the small person at the zoo oh my gosh she’s gonna look so small next to the big animals, auston thinks
it’s terrible for auston because abby loves animals and mitch keeps lifting her up to so she can get a better look
auston just smiles fondly the entire time
he also shares some fun facts about lions with her and she freaks out about his super cool lion tattoo, and mitch just has this grin on his face as he crouches down so she can touch it
at one point mitch is in the bathroom or s/t and then abby’s like, “are you and uncle mitch married?”
auston just stares blankly and sort of gapes. “uh, no? we play hockey together.”
“i bet you can play hockey with someone and still be married to them,” she says, matter-of-fact.
mitch comes back from the bathroom and auston’s blushing a whole lot
at the end of the visit, auston buys her a stuffed lion.
as he checks out the woman who’s ringing him up is like “is this for your daughter over there?” and auston does a double take and is like “no that’s not our daughter, i mean, not my daughter and also not his daughter, she’s his cousin’s kid and i’m just his very good friend and teammate who likes lions a lot uh bye”
it says a lot about how much fun auston has that he still would say it’s a good day despite almost dying of humiliation
later that night, mitch calls auston and is like, “abby fell asleep, but i thought you’d want to know that she named the lion auston.”
auston is thoroughly incoherent
mitch laughs on the other end and auston wishes he could be there because he loves the way mitch looks when he laughs–wait what
auston just keeps hanging around with abby, who likes him a lot, as an excuse to spend time with mitch
he’s not actually that bad with kids, it turns out
he’s really good at reading books out loud
his hair is longer than mitch’s and abby likes to play with it
mitch gets weirdly jealous about abby preferring piggyback rides with auston but auston figures mitch can get over that on his own time
their teammates are still kind of annoying about it. mo and gards show up one day and are like “mitch we just want to help you watch this kid” and mitch is like “i have help” and auston and abby pop out and scare them
gards almost jumps into mo’s arms
it’s literally the best video in the universe
auston stays late one night watching “the lion king” with abby for the 90th time, because it’s her favorite movie and was auston’s when he was a kid (and still kinda is), but they both accidentally fall asleep
auston wakes up to mitch walking back into the room, because he put abby to bed.
“hey, sorry,” mitch says, his voice soft, and he’s giving auston a weird look.
auston blinks. “sorry?”
“didn’t mean to wake you,” mitch says, sitting down next to auston, and auston’s eyes flicker down to mitch’s lips subconsciously, because he’s too tired to stop himself.
mitch notices
mitch leans in
mitch kisses auston, and auston kisses back
they share a bed that night but don’t like do anything, and the next morning abby’s super happy that auston’s there
they don’t really talk about the kiss, though, because they don’t have time.
then, abby’s parents come to pick her up, and she says to auston, her voice very serious, “i know you and uncle mitch aren’t married, but i think you should be, because he makes you smile a lot and that’s really cool.”
mitch hears her and auston gives him an awkward look, but mitch just smiles
once she’s gone, mitch is like, “so, about what she said, i don’t think marriage is in the books yet, but like, a date could be, yeah?”
auston’s never said yes to something this fast in his life.
they go to the zoo, and they send a picture to abby’s parents, who put her on facetime with them and she’s like “please say hello to the lions!”
they do, and auston grabs mitch’s hand as mitch leans his head on auston’s shoulder

On The Rock - 8
Part 7  Masterlist
Tumblr media
They lost 5-2.
They had a lot of chances but Minnesota was better. We were sipping our wine and watching the post game interviews so long we saw the re-runs of the pre-game ones as well. Auston was on and he was pale and his eyes were darker and was bundled up in more layers.
"He's sick" I stared at the pale man on screen annoyed he played when he was sick. Steph noticing as well.
"He probably didn't tell anyone not want to miss anytime" she reasoned. A very truthful reason too. Not want to think deeper into more than it is I change the subject.
"So how are you getting home? I'm drunk." I flat-lined I am drunk, not as much as the first time we met but enough to know I shouldn't drive.
Steph's eyes widen at my words before pick up her phone and texting I can only imagine being Mitch.
"Mitch said he'll get me"
"You have his truck"
"Dammit" her fingers go across the screen texting, Mitch. After couple minutes.
"Auston's driving. They land soon. So I say an hour" I nod at the blonde.
"More wine?" I ask standing up from my spot on the couch. "Mm yes please"
True to word hour later there is a Knock at the door and a much more boozed up Steph answers to let the two hockey players in. Both drinking in the Rustic feel and dark colors.
" Amelia is gonna be my new roommate!" Steph said to Mitch.
"She even has a spare room for when you drag poor Matts here or Mo! Ou I have to give you a tour!" She and Mitch wonder up the stairs.
As their voice drift away it's silent other than the hum of the tv. Taking this time to look at Auston, who's currently sleeping against the wall looking like shit.
As I approach him I can see he for sure has a fever. Moving his hat off his head I check his warm temp it's way warmer than it should be. His cheeks flushed pink but pale with shadows cast over his eyes.
"Auston" I carefully try to wake him from sleeping against the wall. His eyes snap open unfocused clearly shocked he was just asleep well standing.
"Where'd the lovebirds go?" His features display confusion because they were just here before he fell asleep.
"She's showing him around, do you need anything? Water?" Trying not to let him know that I'm aware he's sick. He nods yes to the water as I head for my fridge he sprawls on the couch.
"Here you go" handing him the cold bottle and as soon as his hands are on it's gone.
" You guys look exhausted. You can stay here if you'd like" I offer hoping he doesn't choose to drive. I guess he knows that I'm on to him.
"It's just a cold" his voice defensive but he body language is relaxed.
I just nod skeptically eyeing him but I don't want to push it.
"I'll just find the two and make sure the rooms are set up" he nods and dozed off.
Up the stairs I can't find them frowning I head up the stairs to my room and find them both passes out on my bed. If they weren't so cute I'd be mad. Quickly grabbing pj shirt and shorts I head back down stairs where Auston isn't asleep much to my surprise he's actually stretching out his back standing in front of the tv.
"Sore?" he jumps not aware of my return.
"Yeah I really got nailed tonight" he frowns wincing when he stretches too much one way.
"You want me to get the knot it's kinda what I do for a living" I joked. He graciously nodded and eased of his winter jacket and suit jacket. Coming around behind him I lay my hands on his back and starting to gently massage his back, which causes him to shiver.
"Where is it? Low, mid or high?" I asked professional as I can be with a buzz.
" mid to low"
Working my finger around the area of his well defined back I find multiple knots and a knot in my own stomach starts to form the more I massage his did I mention well-defined back muscle. Hockey has really down him good.
"This is gonna hurt" I warned digging my finger into the muscle working out the knots one by one. He lets out pain groans and moans from relief. He flexes his back more with more mobility. After getting the knots I gently massage the areas to relax any possible tension from his trouble spot to his shoulders and then I work his tense shoulders a bit.
He was a human noodle by the time I was finished.
"You're really good at that- well it's your jobs I guess you have to be but thanks you got more out than I thought I had." He stretched his arms over his head and shook it out. He's still sickly looking.
"Let's get you to bed Mr.Matthews," I smiled teasingly starting to lead the way to the upstairs rooms.
Getting the up the stairs and to the bedroom door.
"We'll put you in this one so the sun doesn't shine into your eyes in the morning" I open the door the bed not made like it should've been.
"Uhm just gonna make the bed. The bathroom is to the left if you'd like,"
He heads into the washroom as I get to work with the bed sheets and blankets. Getting everything together in time just as Auston re-enters the room this time in A LOT fewer clothes. Schooling my Features to hide my vivid thoughts.
" I'll be across the hall 'cause the love birds are passed out in mine. Goodnight" I rushed out of the room as he gets into bed un aware of distress.
Stepping into the other room the mattress is still wrapped in the cleaning plastic meaning it's still damp. Sighing I grab blankets from the closet and head to the couch.
Being lifted brings me out of the sleep I just got into After two hours staring at my roof.
"Wha?" My voice groggy.
"You weren't in the room when I passed and I found you on the couch shivering to death." He voices very firmly with a tired edge to it. At the mention of shivering, I am indeed still shivering and my skin is covered goose bumps. Staring at him with tired half lid eyes I take in the mess that his hair and his relaxed face.
Getting up the stairs Auston sets me into the bed I set for him. I'm on the far left side and he gets on the right and pulls up the blanket before he rolls to face away from me he says.
"You shouldn't be displaced in your own home," His only words.
I shiver at his kindness and the cold. I lay back into the pillows still shivering but trying the not make it obvious but in turn, makes me turn and fidget to find a warm spot. I guess I made it more obvious because I felt Auston move behind me and instantly I stopped shivering and almost breathing when he pulls my back to him warm front.
"Thank you" I whisper into the air. He nods his face practically buried in my hair.
I have the best sleep of my life-again thanks to Auston Matthews.

“He probably didn’t tell anyone not want to miss anytime” she reasoned. A very truthful reason too. Not want to think deeper into more than it is I change the subject.
“So how are you getting home? I’m drunk.” I flat-lined I am drunk, not as much as the first time we met but enough to know I shouldn’t drive.
Steph’s eyes widen at my words before pick up her phone and texting I can only imagine being Mitch.
“Mitch said he’ll get me”
“You have his truck”
“Dammit” her fingers go across the screen texting, Mitch. After couple minutes.
“Auston’s driving. They land soon. So I say an hour” I nod at the blonde.
“More wine?” I ask standing up from my spot on the couch. “Mm yes please”
True to word hour later there is a Knock at the door and a much more boozed up Steph answers to let the two hockey players in. Both drinking in the Rustic feel and dark colors.
“ Amelia is gonna be my new roommate!” Steph said to Mitch.
“She even has a spare room for when you drag poor Matts here or Mo! Ou I have to give you a tour!” She and Mitch wonder up the stairs.
As their voice drift away it’s silent other than the hum of the tv. Taking this time to look at Auston, who’s currently sleeping against the wall looking like shit.
As I approach him I can see he for sure has a fever. Moving his hat off his head I check his warm temp it’s way warmer than it should be. His cheeks flushed pink but pale with shadows cast over his eyes.
“Auston” I carefully try to wake him from sleeping against the wall. His eyes snap open unfocused clearly shocked he was just asleep well standing.
“Where’d the lovebirds go?” His features display confusion because they were just here before he fell asleep.
“She’s showing him around, do you need anything? Water?” Trying not to let him know that I’m aware he’s sick. He nods yes to the water as I head for my fridge he sprawls on the couch.
“Here you go” handing him the cold bottle and as soon as his hands are on  it’s gone.
“ You guys look exhausted. You can stay here if you’d like” I offer hoping he doesn’t choose to drive. I guess he knows that I’m on to him.
“It’s just a cold” his voice defensive but he body language is relaxed.
I just nod skeptically eyeing him but I don’t want to push it.
“I’ll just find the two and make sure the rooms are set up” he nods and dozed off.
Up the stairs I can’t find them frowning I head up the stairs to my room and find them both passes out on my bed. If they weren’t so cute I’d be mad. Quickly grabbing pj shirt and shorts I head back down stairs where Auston isn’t asleep much to my surprise he’s actually stretching out his back standing in front of the tv.
“Sore?” he jumps not aware of my return.
“Yeah I really got nailed tonight” he frowns wincing when he stretches too much one way.
“You want me to get the knot it’s kinda what I do for a living” I joked. He graciously nodded and eased of his winter jacket and suit jacket. Coming around behind him I lay my hands on his back and starting to gently massage his back, which causes him to shiver.
“Where is it? Low, mid or high?” I asked professional as I can be with a buzz.
“ mid to low”
Working my finger around the area of his well defined back I find multiple knots and a knot in my own stomach starts to form the more I massage his did I mention well-defined back muscle. Hockey has really down him good.
“This is gonna hurt” I warned digging my finger into the muscle working out the knots one by one. He lets out pain groans and moans from relief. He flexes his back more with more mobility. After getting the knots I gently massage the areas to relax any possible tension from his trouble spot to his shoulders and then I work his tense shoulders a bit.
He was a human noodle by the time I was finished.
“You’re really good at that- well it’s your jobs I guess you have to be but thanks you got more out than I thought I had.” He stretched his arms over his head and shook it out. He’s still sickly looking.
“Let’s get you to bed Mr.Matthews,” I smiled teasingly starting to lead the way to the upstairs rooms.
Getting the up the stairs and to the bedroom door.
“We’ll put you in this one so the sun doesn’t shine into your eyes in the morning” I open the door the bed not made like it should’ve been.
“Uhm just gonna make the bed. The bathroom is to the left if you’d like,”
He heads into the washroom as I get to work with the bed sheets and blankets. Getting everything together in time just as Auston re-enters the room this time in A LOT fewer clothes. Schooling my Features to hide my vivid thoughts.
“ I’ll be across the hall ‘cause the love birds are passed out in mine. Goodnight” I rushed out of the room as he gets into bed un aware of distress.
Stepping into the other room the mattress is still wrapped in the cleaning plastic meaning it’s still damp. Sighing I grab blankets from the closet and head to the couch.
Being lifted brings me out of the sleep I just got into After two hours staring at my roof.
“Wha?” My voice groggy.
“You weren’t in the room when I passed and I found you on the couch shivering to death.” He voices very firmly with a tired edge to it. At the mention of shivering, I am indeed still shivering and my skin is covered goose bumps. Staring at him with tired half lid eyes I take in the mess that his hair and his relaxed face.
Getting up the stairs Auston sets me into the bed I set for him. I’m on the far left side and he gets on the right and pulls up the blanket before he rolls to face away from me he says.
“You shouldn’t be displaced in your own home,” His only words.
“Thank you” I whisper into the air. He nods his face practically buried in my hair.
I have the best sleep of my life-again thanks to Auston Matthews.
