Another violent man trying to worm his way into spaces with vulnerable women. Did he feel like a woman when he attacked a women’s health center?
By Anna Slatz March 20, 2024
A trans-identified male serving a 53-year sentence for multiple domestic terrorism charges is suing the Bureau of Prisons, demanding transfer to a women’s prison. Emily Claire Hari, formerly known as Michael Hari, led a ragtag right-wing militia called Patriot Freedom Fighters, later re-named to the White Rabbits.
Hari, along with the small group, began engaging in criminal activity in 2017 with the intention of carrying out acts of domestic terrorism. In August of that year, Hari’s group set an improvised incendiary device near the Imam’s office of the Dar-al Farooq Islamic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. One of Hari’s associates, Micheal McWhorter, would later confirm the purpose of the attack was to “scare Muslims out of the United States.” No one was injured in the attack.
In November of 2017, Hari and his “soldiers” targeted the Women’s Health Practice in Champaign, Illinois, where they threw a pipe bomb into the building. The bomb did not detonate and was found by a receptionist of the clinic who called police to safely extract the device from the facility.

Hari in Sherburne County Jail in 2021.
Hari and his militia would go on to engage in a series of petty crimes in an attempt to gather the funds to continue their operations, including robbing a Hispanic man and holding up two local Walmarts in Clarence, Illinois in December of 2017.
In early 2018, Hari and his ‘militia’ attempted to sabotage railroad tracks near Effingham, Illinois with a bomb. After the attack, the group sent ransom emails demanding $190,000 in cryptocurrency under threat they would damage the railway further.
Shortly after, Hari tried to frame another individual for the crimes, but the effort would only lead to Federal Investigators more easily tracking him and the members of his militia down.
Hari and his colleagues were ultimately arrested, and, in 2021, Hari was sentenced to 53 years for his role in the Dar al-Farooq bombing. He later received an additional 14 years in 2022 on a number of other charges related to his domestic terrorist activity and the attempted bombing of the women’s clinic. The 14 years is to be served concurrently with the 53-year sentence.
During his trial, it was revealed that Hari identified as a transgender “woman.” While leading the White Rabbit militia, he had been searching terms such as ‘sex change,’ ‘transgender surgery,’ and ‘post-op transgender’ on the internet. Hari allegedly planned on fleeing to Thailand to get ‘gender affirming’ surgeries.
Hari had asked the court to take his gender dysphoria into consideration, and made a request for an amended federal prison placement based on his identity. The details of his request were placed under a seal and the presiding judge stated he would defer to the Bureau of Prisons to make the final call.
But Reduxx has now learned that the judge in the case recommended Hari be placed at FMC Carswell, a female institution, but that Bureau of Prisons instead sent him to a men’s facility. As a result, Hari launched a lawsuit agains the Bureau of Prisons in late 2022 in a case that has been quietly making its way through the US District Court in the Central District of Illinois.
Hari is seeking transfer to a women’s prison under the Bureau of Prison’s transgender policy, which was amended in February of 2022 to make a transgender inmate’s “personal safety” and gender identity a priority when determining housing.
In his complaint, which was hand-written, Hari claims he has been subjected to sexual harassment by “dangerous tranny chasers,” and made fun of for his gender identity. He has since filed over two dozen “exhibits,” attempting to show the court he does not belong in a men’s prison. Among these exhibits include photos of himself wearing a dress-like inmate uniform.
Hari formally applied for transfer to a women’s prison in October of 2023, attempting to exhaust his internal remedies.
In an email exchange dated January 10, 2024, the Transgender Executive Council, which makes housing decisions, re-affirmed his placement at the men’s facility and told Hari his case would be re-reviewed in November — something Hari had been told repeatedly in the past.
Tumblr media
In a Motion for Miscellaneous Relief, Hari claimed that if he were not transferred to a women’s prison in November, he would go on a hunger strike and slice off his own penis.
“The hunger strike is a political protest against both the conditions that I have been held under, and the conditions that my transgender sisters have been held under in BOP custody,” Hari wrote. “If I am not given some reasonable assurance that I am to be moved to a gender affirming housing by November 5, I will initiate a hunger strike and auto-castration on that date.”
Tumblr media
From the motion for miscellaneous relief filed on November 13, 2023.
Hari is currently housed at Allenwood USP, a high-security facility in Pennsylvania for male offenders. While he is classified as a “male” inmate, his name in the BOP system has been changed from “Michael” to “Emily.”
If Hari is moved to FMC Carswell, he will be one of several dangerous trans-identified males held at the facility.
As previously broken by Reduxx in December, a trans-identified male convicted of rape and child sexual abuse was transferred FMC Carswell after launching a lawsuit against the Bureau of Prisons claiming “discrimination.” July Justine Shelby, born William McClain, was convicted on multiple counts of child pornography trafficking after being caught distributing photos of infants being sexually abused.
According to Keep Prisons Single Sex USA, there are approximately 1,980 transgender offenders in the federal system, of which 1,295 are trans-identified males. Of them, almost 50% are in custody for sex offenses. This is compared to just 12% of the general federal inmate population, meaning that trans-identified males are incarcerated for sex offenses at a rate of almost four times that of non-transgender inmates.
Between 2022 and 2023, there was an almost 23% increase of federal inmates who identified as transgender.

Taiyler S. Mitchell and Sanjana Karanth at HuffPost:
College campuses across the country have become home to protests and encampments against Israel’s war on Gaza — leading to hundreds of arrests. The protesters across the numerous universities are calling for a permanent cease-fire and university divestment from companies making money off of the war, according to Reuters. Additionally, they are also demanding that the U.S. stops military assistance for Israel, and that disciplined student or faculty protesters are given amnesty, per the outlet. In one high-profile instance at Columbia University in New York, more than 100 people were arrested Thursday as students and faculty protested the university’s Israel-related investments. The demonstrations mirror a week of protests at the university in 1968 over the Vietnam War, which led to more than 700 arrests and nearly 150 reported injuries.
The present-day Columbia demonstrations seem to have added fuel to numerous other demonstrations across the country despite the arrests. On Monday, 120 protesters were arrested at New York University, 47 students were arrested at Yale University, and three people were arrested at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt. On Tuesday, nine people at the University of Minnesota were arrested, and two were arrested at Ohio State University. The demonstrations at Columbia and across the country have been labeled as antisemitic and unsafe for Jewish students. But many of the protesters at these campuses’ “solidarity encampments” are themselves Jewish students calling for Palestinian freedom.
[...] “We condemn any and all hateful or violent comments targeting Jewish students; however, in shutting down public protest and suspending students, the actions of the University of Columbia are not ensuring safety for Jewish students ― or any students ― on campus,” progressive group Jewish Voice for Peace said in a statement on Monday. The White House joined university administrators earlier this week in condemning the protests, presuming that Jewish students in the U.S. automatically support Israel’s military offensive in Gaza ― a dangerous assumption that JVP said is “actively harming Palestinian and Jewish students.”
Protests over Israel's genocidal Gaza campaign have flared up at college campuses across the nation that began at Columbia University with Gaza Solidarity Encampments.
Their goals are to divest from funding companies making money off the Gaza Genocide campaign, permanent ceasefire, ending US military funding for Israel, and amnesty for disciplined students and faculty.
Pro-Israel Apartheid supporters have baselessly called these protests "antisemitic", forgetting that Jewish folks are joining in support of the protests.

Harvard joins Columbia, MIT, Emerson, Tufts, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, University of Pittsburgh, University of Maryland, Berkeley, Cuny, The New School, Washington University in Saint Louis, UNC Chapel Hill and more as it establishes Liberated Zone
The bold text makes it look like ‘HARVARD ESTABLISHES LIBERATED ZONE’
2nd:
Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine Coalition: Who We Are.
3rd:
We, the Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine Coalition, are a group of students and student workers at Harvard University committed to Palestinian liberation. We are part of a rich tradition of students who stood up to U.S. imperialism in Vietnam and Iraq, rallied against apartheid in South Africa, fought for Black liberation in the United Staes, and built national living wage campaigns on university campuses. We understand that all of our historic movements for freedom and justice are intertwined. The Palestinian cause if not for Palestinians alone – it is a cause for people of conscience, concerned with humanity, freedom, and justice.
We have established this Liberated Zone to call for an end to Harvard’s moral and material complicity in the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.
Over the past seven months, we have witnessed Israel and the United States unleash unimaginable cruelty in Gaza. As we write this, Israel has murdered more than 34,000 Palestinians, including 14,000 children. Every day brings more horrifying images than the last: families facing starvation, people undergoing amputation without anesthesia, newly discovered mass graves, entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble.
4th:
These atrocities are not new. Since the original Nakba – Arabic for catastrophe – of 1948, when 750,000 Palestinians were ethnically cleansed from their land, Palestinians have been dispossessed and fragmented by a pernicious apartheid regime, a brutal military occupation, and a suffocating blockade. Zionism, the political project rationalizing this violence, requires the subjugation of Palestinian life and the continued colonialization of Palestinian land. There can be no equivocation: Palestine is occupied from Gaza to the Galilee, from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
This oppression is co-signed and co-sponsored by the United States government and its institutions. The U.S. continues to sustain the Zionist colonial regime with billions of dollars in military funding. Since its founding, Israel has been the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign aid, receiving approximately $300 billion in economic and military assistance.
5th:
As we walk the halls of Harvard, study in its libraries, and sleep in its dormitories, we are acutely aware that there are no universities remaining in the Gaza Strip. Israel has robbed Palestinians of their rights to education by systematically destroying academic infrastructures and communities. Professors, teachers, students, and academic workers have been targeted and killed along with the rest of Gaza’s population. As students, educators, and graduate workers, we have a duty to fight against this genocide.
Palestine is not only a moral issue. It is an issue that affects our campus, one that fundamentally implicates Harvard University. As of 2019, Harvard had invested at least $200 million in companies with ties to illegal Israeli settlements, a flagrant violation of international human rights law, and at least $86,625 worth of investments in the Israeli military. Today, the Harvard Management Company, which oversees the world’s largest university endowment of $51 billion, discloses no information about the scale of natures of its investments in Israel.
6th
On its campus, we have witnessed the university relentlessly suppress voices in its community speaking out against the actions of the Israeli state and for the rights of the Palestinian people. Time and time again, we have seen Harvard pioneer and affirm the “Palestine exception to free speech,” silencing professors and students when they speak out about Palestine or include Palestinian liberation in their ethic of social justice. The university is also failing to protect its community from violent and racist anti-Palestinian harassment. Just this week, Harvard has unilaterally suspended the Palestine Solidarity Committee after months of administrative persecution and discriminatory measures.
Enough is enough. In the past seven months, our protests against the intensifying genocidal campaign in Gaza have been met with repression, administrative targeting, willfully racist attacks (including from politicians and faculty members), and arbitrary policy changes designed to silence our voices. We will not be deterred. By launching this demonstration, we renew our commitment to protest Harvard’s moral, institutional, and financial complicity in the genocide of Palestinians.
7th:
As student governments in schools across Harvard pass resolutions for divestment, the University must contend with the facts that its students will not tolerate its support for genocide, violence, and apartheid. In doing so, we proudly continue Harvard’s legacy of anti-war, anti-racist student organizing, from the mock “shanty towns” established in Harvard Yard in 1986 to protest apartheid in South Africa, to the 1969 University Hall occupation protesting against the war on Vietnam.
Our movement is one part of the tapestry of liberation movements. Harvard itself is a product of land theft and indigenous erasure: the initial funds to establish this university were used for the ‘education and conversion’ of indigenous people. By creating this Liberated Zone, we hope to begin the work of building the world we want to inhabit: a world free of the shackles of colonialism.
8th:
The Palestinian people, like all oppressed peoples, have a right to resist their annihilation. We hold this to be a precondition for Palestinian liberation, as we do the inalienable right of return, a fundamental value that challenges and denaturalizes the colonial fragmentation of the Palestinian community. Our act of civil disobedience here at Harvard is grounded in Palestinian values of sumoud – Arabic for steadfastness – and love for life.
We are driven by the belief that a better world is possible: a world free of racism, white supremacy, cishetero-patriarchy. Ableism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all forms of hatred. It is for this reason that we are compelled to take action.
9th:
Our demands: Following the lead of our brave comrades on campuses across the country, this Liberated Zone is a demonstration of our love of justice, our hope for a free Palestine, and our dream of a liberated future for all. We see our institution’s complicity as one link among many that must be severed on the path to liberation.
As such, we demand that Harvard University:
1. Disclose any and all investments – both institutional and financial – in Israel, the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and the occupation of Palestine.
2. Divest from all such investments, and reinvest resources in Palestinian academic initiatives, communities, and culture.
3. Drop all charges against students for their organizing and activism, and commit to ending the weaponization of disciplinary policy.
The whole world is watching a genocide unfold before its eyes. We raise our voices to join the chorus of millions demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the occupation, and a free Palestine from the river to the sea. /id]

We, the undersigned organizations, write to express our urgent concern regarding dire and escalating violence in Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territory, which continues to result in significant human suffering and loss of civilian life.
We condemn all violence against civilians by Hamas and the Israeli military. In this critical moment, we believe it is imperative that U.S. policymakers take measures to immediately de-escalate the violence to prevent the further loss of civilian life. We urge Congress and the Administration to:
Publicly call for a ceasefire to prevent the further loss of life;
Prioritize the protection of all civilians, including by urgently securing the entrance of humanitarian aid into Gaza and working to secure the release of hostages; and
Urge all parties to fully respect international humanitarian law.
We implore Congress and the Administration to abstain from rhetoric that exacerbates violence and to unequivocally condemn all violations of international law. Over the last several days, the Israeli government has cut all food, fuel, and humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip. On October 12, Israel issued an evacuation order for the entire northern Gaza Strip, telling residents to evacuate south of Wadi Gaza. This amounts to approximately 1.1 million people. The U.N. is calling for this order to be rescinded, warning it will have “devastating humanitarian consequences.”
We again urge Congress and the Administration to publicly call for, and help to facilitate, an immediate ceasefire to prevent the tragic loss of more innocent Palestinian and Israeli lives. Thank you for your urgent consideration.
Sincerely,

A man in Portland who was out on bail thanks to a liberal "volunteer-run abolitionist organization" was arrested and charged for allegedly murdering the mother of his children just one week after being released from jail, according to local reports.
Mohamed Osman Adan was arrested on Aug. 10 over allegations he cut off a GPS monitor he was wearing and broke a no-contact order stemming from allegations of strangulation and attempted assault against the mother of his children, 36-year-old Rachael Angel Abraham.
He is accused of entering Abraham’s townhome on July 26, which resulted in a warrant for his arrest.
Adan was able to post bail on Aug. 20, after Portland Freedom Fund president Amanda Trujillo provided $2,000 in funds, the Oregonian reported. His bail was set at $20,000, but Oregon often allows a 10% deposit of the full amount in order for someone to be released.
MINNESOTA BAIL FUND PROMOTED BY KAMALA HARRIS FREED CONVICT NOW CHARGED WITH MURDER
The Portland Freedom Fund is a self-described volunteer organization that "only post bail for Black, Brown and Indigenous folks in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties."
Multnomah County Circuit Judge Jerry B. Hodson had denied requests for Adan’s release and a lower bail one day prior to Trujillo posting his bail, according to the outlet. A prosecutor in the county, Mackenzie M. Ludwig, had also told the judge that there were "significant lethality factors" surrounding Adan’s case and argued he remain behind bars.
On Saturday, one week after Adan posted bail, police responded to Abraham’s townhome and found her fatally strangled and stabbed.
A 911 call was made just after 7:30 a.m. Saturday, but the call disconnected and the dispatcher was unable to make contact with the person in a follow-up call. Another call to 911 was soon made by a neighbor who reported a fight between a man and a woman. The caller reported she saw Adan push a woman against a second-story window that was open and heard screaming, the Oregonian reported.
MINNESOTA REPUBLICAN CALLS ON FREEDOM FUND ONCE BACKED BY VP HARRIS TO STOP BAILING OUT VIOLENT OFFENDERS
Adan called police a few hours later and said Abraham was dead.
Officers found Abrahams body covered with a bedsheet in a child’s bedroom on top of a carpet soaked with blood, according to an affidavit. Prosecutors said her body showed bruises on her neck and arms, cuts to her hands and a large vertical cut across her face. A kitchen knife was found near her body, according to court records.
Medical examiners determined strangulation was her cause of death, according to the affidavit.
Police found Adan downstairs at the home with three young children, ranging from ages two to seven. Adan and Abraham shared two children together out of Abraham’s total of six children, according to Adan’s family. The couple were together from about 2017 to this year, the Oregonian reported.
Additionally, Adan had refused instruction from the 911 dispatcher to perform CPR on Abraham when he made the 911 call, according to the affidavit.
"Our prosecutors aggressively pursued a high bail amount in this case," District Attorney Mike Schmidt said in a statement following the death of Rachael Angel Abraham on Saturday. "Mr. Adan’s intent to kill the victim was unambiguous. After the judge set Adan’s bail, the Portland Freedom Fund undermined our efforts and the efforts of the court to save the victim’s life by using their resources to bail him out."
"When a judge imposes bail, the defendant’s ability to pay is among the factors they consider. The action taken by the Portland Freedom Fund circumvented this, with tragic results. We offer our deepest condolences to the family of the victim, and will dedicate our efforts to the full prosecution of this matter," the statement, which was provided to Fox News Digital, continued.
Abraham was described as a "a kind, warmhearted woman. A lovely person," according to Adan’s sister.
"All that she cared about was her children," Ramla Adan told the Oregonian. "They’re all she thought about." Abraham’s children are currently living with family members.
PORTLAND, THE SITE OF MASSIVE GEORGE FLOYD PROTESTS, HAS BEEN RAVAGED BY VIOLENT CRIME SINCE
Former Democratic state Sen. Margaret Carter added to the outlet that she had taken Abraham into her home about 12 years ago and the young woman had become like a goddaughter to her. They had not been in contact for the last few years, and she described being "angry" over the woman’s death.
"I’m just really angry," Carter said. "This woman did not deserve what happened to her."
Carter asked why the Portland Freedom Fund had not done a more thorough background check on Adan’s case before posting his bail.
Six of Adan’s last nine arrests were domestic violence-related involving Abraham, according to the Oregonian. She had petitioned for a restraining order in May, alleging that Adan had repeatedly physically assaulted or threatened her, including reportedly punching her in the head as she slept and saying that he "put a gun on my head and then he said he was playing."
"Before, when I told him that I was leaving him," she wrote in the petition, "he told me that he would kill me."
The Portland Freedom Fund published a public statement on Facebook Tuesday saying their "thoughts are with the families and communities affected by this tragedy, particularly the children who have effectively lost both parents."
The statement added that members of the fund had been in contact with Adan "throughout the time between his release and re-arrest and did not receive any indications for concern."
"The court had deemed him eligible for bail release and he was referred to us as a financial provider for two small children with a letter of community support," the statement added.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Portland Freedom Fund on Wednesday morning for additional comment.
Similar freedom fund organizations grew in prominence in 2020 following the death of George Floyd and as protests and riots erupted across the country in support of Black Lives Matter and defund the police movements. Vice President Kamala Harris threw her support behind the Minnesota Freedom Fund that year, encouraging her Twitter followers to donate to the fund to help bail out the protesters arrested during the riots.

The more I look into "landback" shit the more it seems like a grift. The landback website has nothing substantial on it, and so far I haven't found any definitions or explanations for what "landback" means in concrete terms. It's usually nonsense like:
What is the LandBack movement really asking for? The land. Back.
NDN Collectives "Manifesto" is just a bunch of corpo-gibberish bullet points:
It is a relationship with Mother Earth that is symbiotic and just, where we have reclaimed stewardship. It is bringing our People with us as we move towards liberation and embodied sovereignty through an organizing, political and narrative framework. It is a long legacy of warriors and leaders who sacrificed freedom and life. It is a catalyst for current generation organizers and centers the voices of those who represent our future. It is recognizing that our struggle is interconnected with the struggles of all oppressed Peoples. It is a future where Black reparations and Indigenous LANDBACK co-exist. Where BIPOC collective liberation is at the core. It is acknowledging that only when Mother Earth is well, can we, her children, be well. It is our belonging to the land – because – we are the land. We are LANDBACK!
LANDBACK Organizing Principles
Don’t burn bridges: even when there is conflict between groups or organizers remember that we are fighting for all of our peoples and we will continue to be in community even after this battle
Don’t defend our ways
Organize to win
Move from abundance – We come from a space of scarcity. We must work from a place of abundance
We bring our people with us
Deep relationships by attraction, not promotion
Divest/invest
We value our warriors
Room for grace—be able to be human
We cannot let our oppressors inhumanity take away from ours
Strategy includes guidance
Realness: Sometimes the truth hurts
Unapologetic but keep it classy
How about an explanation in concrete terms what "sovereignty" is supposed to mean? Or how they're planning to administer the land in relation to the other people that they share it with? If this land is supposed to be Indians' private property, there should be some kind of theoretical explanation for how this real estate transaction is supposed to lead to "the abolition of the United States’ concept of real estate altogether."
Then there's the NDN Collective itself. Generally, my rule of thumb is that if NGO money is going to something, then it's probably not radical or revolutionary, and that probability goes up the more money it gets. Black Lives Matter was radical and revolutionary, then its radical members "mysteriously turned up dead," and then it got hundreds of millions of dollars from the Ford Foundation.
NDN Collective in late 2021 was named a recipient of a Bush Foundation grant of $50 million. The organization has announced plans to redistribute these funds to indigenous individuals in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota[15] Through other funding, including grants from the MacArthur and Skoll Foundations, NDN redistributes capital through two loan pools. The Social Enterprise & Economic Development for Indigenous Growth (SEEDING) program offers loans of $500,000 or more, while the Relief & Resilience program provides small business loans to Indigenous entrepreneurs.[16] Prominent donors to NDN Collective include Mackenzie Scott [ex-wife of Jeff Bezos], in 2021, due to her concerns about wealth inequality, discrimination, and the need for investment in education,[17] and the Jeff Bezos Earth Fund, which in 2020 donated $12 million for their work against climate change.[18] NDN Collective was also funded by the Target Foundation in 2022, as one of its "Ecosystem" grant recipients.[19]
So the "collective" is itself an NGO worth tens of millions of dollars. It plans to "redistribute" that money in the form of grants and loans with the explicit aim of "wealth building." According to NDN, it defines wealth as
“Indigenous wealth is a quality of life and mindset that encircles family and community well-being and the care of relationships (self, family, extended family, community, land, environment), and a spirit of generosity. Money is a tool to support basic needs (safety, food, shelter, education) and bring financial security and self-determination so that one can live a “good life,” abundant in social and cultural sharing.
Which isn't really a definition at all. I don't know how "a quality of life and mindset that encircles family and community well-being" is supposed to pay back a half a million dollar loan. I'd be more forgiving I think if there was some explanation about what this money was intended to do, but the Collective Abundance Fund Report doesn't offer much in that what. The grant application does elaborate on what the money can be used for though, including purchasing or expanding a home, paying for higher education, business development, and land purchases.
The anti-Capitalist, pro-communcal stance just seems like posturing to me when instead of distributing this money to the community level for the development of community projects, the money is being distributed on the individual/family level, for the development of private property. This doesn't seem like a fund for all, but one specifically to cultivate a Native middle class along bourgeois lines and provide a return on investment.
To return back to the HCN article, it mentions in one paragraph:
While some private landholders may resist, others, including mainline conservation groups and even art galleries, have already taken it upon themselves to donate property to tribes or Native organizations. These acts are a positive and inspiring step, even if still largely symbolic.
The "mainline conservation group" it mentions is called Save The Redwoods, which seems to have a sketchy past.
During the 2010s UC Berkeley’s Bancroft Library began organizing and curating a particularly revealing trove of primary documents that would allow me to unmask Save the Redwoods League as the first, the largest, and the longest-lasting example of an inward political and economic phenomenon that today we call “greenwashing”— that is, rhetorical support for environmental protection by an institution actually working on behalf of destructive corporations. These were the League’s own records, dating back to 1917, some 200,000 pages of eye-popping revelations that would keep me in thrall for years.
Through deep examination of the League’s papers (I would eventually copy 10,000 pages) and many other sources, I learned that in 1917 a small coterie of powerful industrialists had gathered at the secluded Bohemian Grove, in Sonoma County, during the annual encampment of the exclusive San Francisco Bohemian Club. The industrialists included some of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the nation, and the world, virtually all of whose businesses relied on redwood lumber to undergird the swiftest and most forceful expansion of industry and wealth in human history. They created Save the Redwoods League not to save redwoods as parks, but as standing inventories for use by industry.
STR is also a massive NGO with a yearly revenue of $20 million and an endowment of over $100 million. It's president Samuel Hodder was a guest on a podcast called Climate One, which is a product of the The Commonwealth Club of California, which is another massive NGO with ties to the highest levels of government and big business.
And on the subject of the highest levels of government, again from the HCN article:
The federal government has slowly and selectively begun to engage with the idea since the appointment of Deb Haaland (Laguna Pueblo) as secretary of the Interior, and of Chuck Sams (Umatilla) as director of the National Park Service, the first Native people to hold either office. The United States is currently piloting tribal co-management of certain federal lands, a step in the direction of LandBack.
If you're getting tens of millions of dollars and aid from NGOs, major universities are putting out papers in your favor, and you're getting help from the federal government, then yeah, I think at the very least there's something deeply suspicious going on.

Producing the Feature Film: Blog 4
A. Research 5 Sponsors / Why
Coffee: Folgers - recognizable brand that signals an obvious product placement.
Technology: Apple - shows the lasting popularity of the technology and brand.
Clothing: Todd Snyder - The character is well off and can afford nice clothes.
Camera: Sony - the cameras used to film the TV show.
Cars: Lincolns - The character is well off and can afford a Lincoln.
B. Research 5 Fiscal Sponsorships / Where / Stipulations / How Much / Why
Filmmakers Collaborative, Inc. in Melrose, MA. Good because it offers access to national funding database. However, current rate is 5% plus annual dues and annual fee for certain federally-funded projects bringing in over $500,000. Manages more than $50 million in grants and donations.
The Field in New York. They sponsor projects that are artistic in nature such as film. There's a $250 fiscal sponsorship fee
Film Independent in Los Angeles. They sponsor an array of projects including the arts. They administer funds for filmmakers while offering them the freedom to manage their own projects.  There's a 7% fiscal sponsorship fee.
FilmNorth in Minnesota. They're for projects that seek to raise more than $5,000, but their fee is 5%, a $65 application fee and $45 annual renewal fee for years 2 and beyond. Their mission is to advance a vibrant and diverse community of independent film and media artists through networking, education, funding, and opportunities for showcasing their work.

D. Write a Mission Statement
A film production focused on revamping old films and reproducing them for a new audience.
E. What is the objective of a film market? When do you as a filmmaker consider taking your film project(s) to a film market?
The objective of a film market is to bring buyers and sellers of entertainment together and to focus on the business side of film. You should take your film project to a film market when you are looking for distribution.
F. What is the difference between a pre-sale and a negative pickup?
Negative pickup is when a studio agrees to purchase a film and the rights to distribute it once it's been produced. Pre-sales are commitments from distributors to purchase the rights to sell your film in a certain area and for a limited amount of time. You're given the money upfront and you can take it to the bank in order to get loans.

Where Trump Stands: It’s time to accept how unpopular Donald Trump really is. By Jamelle Bouie July 26, 2018 5:39 PM The latest national survey from Marist and NBC News polls several of those states, giving us a snapshot of the president’s popularity with voters he has to hold to win a second term. The picture isn’t great. In Michigan, where Tearful Toddler Tantrums Tiny trump won by 11,000 votes, 54 percent of registered voters disapprove of his performance, compared to 36 percent who approve. In Minnesota, where he narrowly lost, 51 percent currently disapprove, compared to 38 percent who approve. And in Wisconsin, a state he won by 23,000 votes, 52 percent disapprove, compared to 36 who approve. Dirty Diarrhea Dentures donald trump’s historic unpopularity has yet to harden into conventional wisdom, even as he’s trailed previous presidents in job approval at nearly every point in his administration. By wide margins, voters in these states want a Democratic Congress. They want that Congress to act as a “check and balance” on Trump. What are polls saying now? That Trump, and his party, are in serious political danger. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/07/donald-trump-is-very-unpopular-in-the-states-he-barely-won.html
12 Ways the Trump Administration Has Deepened Inequality By Abby Vesoulis TIME June 25, 2020 7:01 AM EDT Trump claims to have done more than anyone else for the Black community, citing a low Black unemployment rate prior to the COVID-19 recession and the First Step Act, a bipartisan bill reducing federal prison sentences. But behind the scenes, the Administration has quietly rolled back existing rules and issued new ones that have the effect of eliminating protections and opportunities for Black people, migrants, Native Americans, transgender people and other marginalized groups. Here are 12 examples.
Weakening protections for payday-loan recipients that allow for and encourage predatory behavior against vulnerable consumers by financial institutions.
Denying transgender people entry to homeless shelters on the basis of privacy, safety, practical concerns or religious beliefs.
Expanding exemptions to covering birth control via employee health benefits for employers who object on religious or moral grounds.
Denying non-wealthy green-card and visa applicants who have limited financial resources.
Denying food stamps benefits to Americans who've always qualified for those benefits.
Denying low-income Americans, including seniors and people with disabilities, health benefits like Medicaid and prescription-drug funds.
With 21% of women reported being sexually assaulted during college, the trump administration reduced educational institution liability for campus rape, sexual assault, and harassment by requiring both parties in a case to undergo cross-examinations at a live hearing.
Blocking trans troops from enlisting or serving in the U.S. military.
Reducing Native Americans’ land.
Deterring travelers from predominantly muslim countries.
Obstructing access to abortion.

'He's like a child': Biden slams Trump's handling of coronavirus pandemic amid 'heartless crusade' to end Obamacare. Biden took aim at trump during a Pennsylvania campaign event. By Molly Nagle June 25, 2020, 5:51 PM "(Trump's) like a child who can't believe this has happened to him -- all his whining and self pity. This pandemic didn't happen to him. It happened to all of us. And his job isn't to whine about it, his job is to do something about it -- to lead," Biden said in a speech in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Thursday. "The number of cases is increasing in 29 states," Biden said. "We are going to be dealing with this for a long time. Trump can't wish it away. He can't bend it to meet his political wishes. There are no miracles coming." "He thinks that finding out that more Americans are sick will make him look bad. That's what he's worried about. He's worried about looking bad," Biden said. "Well Donald Trump needs to stop caring about how he looks and start caring about … what has happened to the rest of America," he continued. "We are going to have to step up as Americans -- all of us -- and do both the simple things and the hard things to keep our families and our neighborhoods safe, to reopen our economy, to eventually put this pandemic behind us. And sadly, we're gonna have to do it without responsible leadership coming out of the White House. So it's up to us -- all of us. We're going to have to wear masks," Biden implored. Trump says the coronavirus is 'going away.' His own task force disagrees. New internal data obtained by NBC News show the White House is closely tracking big virus spikes around the nation. June 25, 2020, 7:06 PM UTC / Updated June 25, 2020, 9:21 PM UTC By Jonathan Allen WASHINGTON — Dumb Chump donald trump keeps spinning a tale about COVID-19 that is at odds with his own administration's disease experts and data compiled by his own coronavirus task force, which was obtained exclusively by NBC News. In Tearful Toddler trump's telling, the deadly pandemic isn't really a serious threat to the public and rising infection rates are simply due to increased testing. "It's going away," he said Tuesday at an event in Phoenix. But on the same day, the coronavirus task force produced an internal document showing that Phoenix had the highest number of new cases among the 10 metropolitan regions where the week-over-week change in infection rates spiked the most. Arizona's biggest city had recorded 13,169 new cases over the previous seven days, accounting for a jump of 149.2 percent over the previous week's infection rate. The task force records also show that big surges have been recorded in Texas — around San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Christi, Lubbock and College Station — and in other population centers across the U.S., from counties in the Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa regions of Florida to Atlanta's Fulton County, Joplin, Missouri's Newton County, and California's San Joaquin Valley. Local officials have already made it clear that cases are spiking, and on Thursday, Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas paused the reopening plans around the state to deal with what he called an "explosion" of virus infections. But the nonpublic documents show that the White House task force has been tracking the same outbreaks on its own, and they comport with public warnings issued by administration pandemic experts like Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who have been sidelined by the White House. Together, the data obtained by NBC News provide numerical ballast that support the concerns of Fauci and outside experts who say failure to defend properly against the disease will lead to more infections and a higher death toll. In most cases, the new hot spots are in states and counties where officials, including Abbott, eased back on stay-at-home restrictions as the president pressed them to reopen commerce in recent weeks. The reopening has coincided with an overall increase in infection rates in the U.S. and a measurable drop in Tepid trump's political standing. Democratic challenger Joe Biden holds a 10-point lead over Trump in the Real Clear Politics average of national surveys following a spate of reports showing a gap of 8 to 14 percentage points in the last few days. Likewise, state by state polls show Tearful trump trailing in key battlegrounds, including Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona and North Carolina. A Reuters-Ipsos poll released Wednesday found that only 37 percent of Americans approve of Thoughtless trump's handling of the pandemic crisis. Could Tearful Tiny Toddler Testicles Dummy donald trump claim a national security threat to shut down the internet? Tom Wheeler June 25, 2020 “I have the right to do a lot of things that people don’t even know about,” Liddle Lazy Loser Snoozer donald trump told a reporter in a 2020 Oval Office exchange. One of those powers is his authority to shut down radio, television, both wireless and wired phone networks, and the internet. An obscure provision tucked at the back of the Communications Act (Sec.706, codified as 47 USC 606) empowers the president to “cause the closing of any station for radio communications” (such as broadcasting or mobile phone networks) as well as “cause the closing of any facility or station for wire communications” (such as telephone and internet networks). All that is necessary for the exercise of these huge powers is a “proclamation by the President” of “national emergency” in the case of broadcast stations and mobile phones, or the “interest of the national security” for the internet or telephone networks. The statute also gives the president the power to suspend or amend FCC regulations. Such authority makes one tremble when considered alongside Dumb Dumb donald trump’s stated belief, “When somebody’s the President of the United States, the authority is total.” His recent threat to social media platforms to “close them down” continues his efforts to use government authority to coerce and manipulate the media. Since Aleister Crowley and Anton LaVey pushed the idea(s) that the Age of Horus (the extermination and erasure of all Abrahamic faiths, Hebrews, Muslims, and Christians) would usher in the Age of Ma'at, here's even more proof of how pathetic, uneducated, unintelligent, and unsophisticated those two pathetic, non-magical, non-deity, fraudulent freeloaders and sexual predators, domestic abusers, child abusers, and animal abusers actually were: The 42 Laws Of Ma'at are sometimes referred to as "The Negative Confessions" or "The Declaration Of Innocence." I have not committed sin. I have not committed robbery with violence. I have not stolen. I have not slain men or women. I have not stolen food. I have not swindled offerings. I have not stolen from God/Goddess. I have not told lies. I have not carried away food. I have not cursed. I have not closed my ears to truth. I have not committed adultery. I have not made anyone cry. I have not felt sorrow without reason. I have not assaulted anyone. I am not deceitful. I have not stolen anyone’s land. I have not been an eavesdropper. I have not falsely accused anyone. I have not been angry without reason. I have not seduced anyone’s wife. I have not polluted myself. I have not terrorized anyone. I have not disobeyed the Law. I have not been exclusively angry. I have not cursed God/Goddess. I have not behaved with violence. I have not caused disruption of peace. I have not acted hastily or without thought. I have not overstepped my boundaries of concern. I have not exaggerated my words when speaking. I have not worked evil. I have not used evil thoughts, words or deeds. I have not polluted the water. I have not spoken angrily or arrogantly. I have not cursed anyone in thought, word or deeds. I have not placed myself on a pedestal. I have not stolen what belongs to God/Goddess. I have not stolen from or disrespected the deceased. I have not taken food from a child. I have not acted with insolence. I have not destroyed property belonging to God/Goddess. https://dailydish.co.uk/the-42-laws-of-maat/
Without exceptions, every last person on earth who embraces, embodies, promotes, and glorifies the pathetic, worthless, fraudulent, unsophisticated, weak, powerless, delusional, and abusive trash that Aleister Crowley and Anton LaVey peddled has absolutely nothing to do with anything real or authentic, and is, instead, completely detached from reality, facts, truth, sophistication, civility, and true and lasting spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and material empowerment. Aleister Crowley, Anton LaVey and donald j. trump were/are obviously and undeniably the absolute antithesis of the 42 Laws of Ma'at, so no one other than the uneducated, unintelligent, unsophisticated, uncivilized, simple-minded, weak-willed, lazy, and cowardly would ever believe, for more than the literally few minutes it takes to fact-check their con-artist filth, that those three worthless, powerless, and helpless pieces of dung could/would say or do anything to empower anyone other than themselves.
No one on earth should be supporting, enabling, promoting, glorifying, or fundraising for donald j. trump or any of his anti-female, anti-human, anti-humanitarian, anti-American, anti-education, anti-civility, anti-integrity, anti-peace, and anti-prosperity MAGA Nazi cult members, followers, and allies in any way, ever.

Aleister Crowley's and Anton LaVey's petting zoo farm animal face: Behold the Age of Horus where all of the Abrahamic faiths and those who embrace them on earth are permanently destroyed by genocide and ethnic cleansing by the "True Will" and "Great Work" of those with the "demon infested" tongues! And the people who believe that also believe all of that antithetical behavior will somehow usher in the Age of Ma'at where all of that genocidal ethnic cleansing activity is forbidden. Petting zoo farm animal heads, petting zoo farm animal brains, and petting zoo farm animal faces in action… Wow. So unimpressive! Because human beings (Cowboys) naturally believe they're inferior in every way to a meat, pelt, hoof, horn, and dairy-producing livestock/petting zoo farm animal, that's substantially beneath pigs on the food chain, that they choose to embrace and raise as their banner and avatar for "ultimate human evolution, sophistication, strength, genetic superiority, ascension, and unchecked self-deifying 'real magic(k)' power over all of humanity, creation, and the universe…"

Strong's Concordance #306 achlamah: from chalam (and thus dream-stone); a gem, amethyst Original Word: אַחְלָמָה
Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz. The name comes from the Koine Greek αμέθυστος amethystos from α- a-, "not" and μεθύσκω (Ancient Greek) methysko / μεθώ metho (Modern Greek), "intoxicate", a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness. The ancient Greeks believed amethyst gems could prevent intoxication, while medieval European soldiers wore amethyst amulets as protection in battle in the belief that amethysts heal people and keep them cool-headed. Beads of amethyst were found in Anglo-Saxon graves in England. Anglican bishops wear an episcopal ring often set with an amethyst, an allusion to the description of the Apostles as "not drunk" at Pentecost in Acts 2:15. The meaning of amethyst varies from time to time and culture, which is why amethyst has different meanings in Feng Shui and focuses on increasing wealth. In ancient China, it was also used as a powerful tool to remove negative energies and drive away the hazards of daily life. (Wikipedia)
Acts 2:15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! Acts 2:16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: Acts 2:17 “’In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Acts 2:18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
LEGEND: Anton LaVey presented himself as a loving family man.
REALITY: Anton LaVey violently beat his wife Diane throughout their marriage. In 1984 a police report was made describing Diane being strangled into unconsciousness by Anton LaVey, who was in such a murderous rage that his daughter Karla had to pull him off Diane and drag her outside the house to save her life. Anton LaVey routinely physically beat and abused those of his female disciples with whom he had sex, forcing them into prostitution as part of his "Satanic counseling" and collecting their earnings. In 1986 Anton LaVey was a passive witness to the sexual molestation of his own grandson by a longtime friend who was later convicted of sex crimes with minors. In 1990 Anton LaVey informed a mentally-ill stalker of his daughter Zeena of her whereabouts and the time & location of a public appearance she was scheduled to make, deliberately endangering her life.
SOURCES: San Francisco Police records of ASL attack on Diane LaVey, Zeena LaVey, Diane LaVey, Stanton LaVey.
LEGEND: Anton LaVey had a deeply affectionate relationship with Togare, his pet lion.
REALITY: While Anton LaVey was always careful to portray himself to the public as an animal lover, in private he was cruel to and neglectful of his pets. When he was given Togare as a cub in 1964, he was ill-equipped to deal with such an exotic, wild animal despite his pretensions as a circus lion-tamer. As Togare became larger and more unruly, Anton LaVey frequently used an electric cattle prod to hurt and frighten him into submission. Many animal-rights proponents, including Togare's final owner Tippi Hedren, agree that it is detrimental to a wild animal's development to be raised in a domestic environment. Anton LaVey was arrested due to Togare's unruly behavior, and Anton LaVey was ordered to donate him to the San Francisco Zoo. After complying, Anton LaVey made only two visits to Togare. Due to the trauma of his early life, Togare needed special care at the Zoo and at every animal-care facility in which he subsequently lived.
SOURCES: Jack Castor (Lion Keeper, San Francisco Zoo), Diane LaVey, Zeena LaVey, Tippi Hedren (The Cats of Shamballa, McGraw-Hill, 1985).
LEGEND: Anton LaVey had a deeply affectionate relationship with his other pets.
REALITY: In the late 1960s Anton LaVey acquired a Doberman Pinscher (Loki) as an accent to his "sinister" image. Anton LaVey never took the time to housebreak or train Loki, and relegated him to the overgrown and unkempt backyard of the house, regardless of weather. If Loki ever tried to slip into the house for shelter, Anton LaVey routinely used Togare's cattle-prod on him to terrify him back outside. In his old age Loki developed such severe arthritis that he could not climb the stairs to the back door to eat, and began wasting away from malnutrition. Anton LaVey then gave him to one of his prostitute "students", who at least saw that Loki had a warm, inside home until he died a few months later. During her young childhood Anton LaVey's daughter Zeena once awoke late at night to hear slamming sounds and the shrieking of her German Shepherd puppy. Running downstairs, she saw Anton LaVey savagely beating the cowering, cornered dog with a wooden plank. When Zeena begged Anton LaVey to stop and asked him what the dog had done to deserve such treatment, Anton LaVey screamed, "She won't listen to me! I'm going to force her to obey me!" Anton LaVey continued beating the dog until her face was covered with her blood, then dropped the plank and left the dog quivering in the hallway, so injured and frightened that she wouldn't let even Zeena come near her. This incident left the dog traumatized for a long time afterwards.
SOURCES: Diane LaVey, Zeena LaVey.
LEGEND: On Anton LaVey's original death certificate the date of his demise was recorded as October 31, 1997 (Halloween).
REALITY: An official investigation by the City of San Francisco determined that Anton LaVey's actual date of death was October 29, 1997 and that the "Halloween" date had been illegally written on the document.

Oh yeah, clearly no one has done more for modern feminism and female empowerment than Aleister Crowley and Anton LaVey, right? It's undeniable, unmistakable, and irrefutable, right?
The prologue to The Satanic Bible begins by discussing the concept of gods, good and evil, and human nature. It includes the Nine Satanic Statements: Satan represents indulgence, instead of abstinence!
Satan represents vital existence, instead of spiritual pipe dreams!
Satan represents undefiled wisdom, instead of hypocritical self-deceit!
Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates!
Satan represents vengeance, instead of turning the other cheek!
Satan represents responsibility to the responsible, instead of concern for psychic vampires!
Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his "divine spiritual and intellectual development," has become the most vicious animal of all!
Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification! Satan has been the best friend the church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years! Source: Wikipedia
Aleister Crowley lived a completely disempowered, non-magical, non-deity, helpless, powerless, weak, and pathetic hand-to-mouth existence and was dogged by poor health, largely caused by his heroin and cocaine addictions. The fraudulent, uneducated, unsophisticated, uncivilized, unintelligent, and simple-minded freeloader Aleister Crowley believed that in order to discover the True Will, one had to free the desires of the subconscious mind from the control of the conscious mind, especially the restrictions placed on sexual expression, which he associated with the power of divine creation. He identified the True Will of each individual with a "demon infestation" (see: heroin and cocaine addictions and preying upon and defrauding others in order to fund those addictions) unique to each individual. The spiritual quest to find what you are meant to do and do it is also known in Thelema as the Great Work. Crowley believed a "demon infestation" would empower and entitle the "demon infested" individual to "Do what thou wilt" irrespective of any laws or what anyone else thought or felt about it. Crowley believed that for each "demon infested" person, this was defined as a self-proclaimed right and entitlement to: live by one's own law; live in the way that one wills to do; work, play, and rest as one will; die when and how one will; eat and drink what one will; live where one will; move about the earth as one will; think, speak, write, draw, paint, carve, etch, mould, build, and dress as one will; love when, where and with whom one will; and kill those who would thwart these rights irrespective of any laws and/or what anyone thinks or feels about the "demon infested" individual engaging in these indulgent, chaotic, indulgent, uncivilized, and criminal behaviors and actions. Crowley believed that the only real definition of a "Crime" is described as being a violation of one's True Will and that the "demon infested" individual has a divine right and responsibility to the world, humanity, and the Universe to kill those who would thwart a "demon infested" individual's True Will rights. Crowley encouraged religious diversity as long as it only includes wicca, gnosticism, satanism, setianism, luciferianism, alchemy, astrology, qabalah, tantra, tarot divination, yoga, Taoism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and hermetic qabalah. As expected, this is how all of that turned out for him: in need of money, Aleister Crowley launched a series of court cases against people whom he believed to have libelled him. He gained much publicity for his lawsuit against Constable and Co for publishing Nina Hamnett's Laughing Torso (1932)—a book he claimed libelled him by referring to his occult practice as black magic—but lost the case. The court case added to Crowley's financial problems, and in February 1935 he was declared bankrupt. During the hearing, it was revealed that Crowley had been spending three times his income for several years. (Wikipedia)
"I knew how fond Crowley was of pulling the legs of people whom he suspected of being rich and influential. It was a curious kink that he had which had lost him many opportunities and people that would have been useful and friendly to him. It was a kind of schoolboy perversity. A friend of mine introduced him to her and she asked him to her house to lunch to meet some distinguished and rich women who were longing to have their horoscopes read. I was not at the luncheon party, but Crowley, I heard, had a great success and told them all kinds of things about themselves that they were dying to hear. He looked at the Countess and said, " I have met you in another life." She was naturally very intrigued and asked him when and where, and he said that, in fact, he had written a story about her that had been published and that he would send her a copy. This he eventually did and to her horror when she read it, it was a perfectly monstrous story, about a perfectly monstrous and disreputable old woman bearing, of course, no resemblance to her. She was naturally furious and refused to see him again." - Nina Hamnett (Laughing Torso)
On 1 December 1947, the completely impoverished, powerless, helpless, weak, non-magical, and non-deity pathetic loser Aleister Crowley died at Netherwood of chronic bronchitis aggravated by pleurisy and myocardial degeneration, aged 72. His funeral was held at a Brighton crematorium on 5 December; where only about a dozen people attended. (Wikipedia)
Monday, 1 December 1947 = 18th of Kislev, 5708 (the Almighty Abrahamic G-d turns curses into blessings to save and redeem His people) Parashat Vayeshev י״ח בְּכִסְלֵו תש״ח Parashat Vayeshev is the 9th weekly Torah portion in the annual Jewish cycle of Torah reading. Torah Portion: Genesis 37:1-40:23 Vayeshev (“He Settled”) begins the story of Joseph, describing his rivalry with his brothers, slavery in Egypt, and imprisonment after his master’s wife frames him in response to Joseph’s refusal of her advances. America Will Need A New Vocabulary To Discuss Its Presidential Election! Unprecedented, Uncharted, Not Unthinkable
— November 13th, 2023 | By John Prideaux
Barring unforeseen illness or death, the 2024 presidential election will be a rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. This will be confirmed by the party primaries, which in 2024 will be completed much earlier than usual. Normally the incumbent president is chosen as his party’s nominee without much of a fight. On the Democratic side that will happen again. But the Republican side, where one candidate is so far ahead already that he has been able to skip the early debates, will be much weirder.
In a typical primary cycle, Americans have to wait until the end of March, or beyond, to know who the challenger is likely to be. This time the Republican primary could in effect be finished by the end of February. Americans would then be subjected to a full eight months of a general election campaign between two unpopular candidates—while America’s allies around the globe hold their breath.
If the primaries are less relevant than usual, the attention of politically engaged Americans (particularly those who do not wish to see a second Trump presidency), will shift from Trump the candidate to Trump the defendant. The former president’s federal trial for attempting to overturn the 2020 election starts on March 4th, the day before “Super Tuesday”, when 13 states will vote in the Republican primary.
His campaign will take advantage of this timing, portraying the cases against Mr Trump as a left-wing plot to prevent him from winning a second term and inviting his backers to vote for him (and donate to his legal fund) as an act of defiance. One of Mr Trump’s favourite political techniques is to turn whatever he stands accused of back against his accusers. Thus, while he is actually on trial in a federal court for undermining American democracy, he will claim that the real threat to democratic freedom is the federal court.
The coronations of the candidates will take place in Milwaukee, where the Republicans will hold their convention in July, and Chicago, where Democrats will gather in August to enthuse about four more years of Mr Biden (at the end of which their candidate would be 86 years old). The choice of locations is another reminder of the outsized importance of the Midwest in an election year, and the extent to which the contest to choose the president is not really a national election.
It Is Hard To Overstate How Important The Outcome Will Be, For America And The World
If the vote is close, as most presidential elections are now, then the result will come down to what happens in six states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. This means states with a combined population of 50m people, a bit more than Spain but fewer than Italy, will choose the next president. A bigger swing in either direction could bring a few more states into play: Minnesota, New Hampshire, North Carolina, perhaps even Florida.
The federal cases against Mr Trump are unlikely to be litigated by November 5th, the day of the election, because Mr Trump’s legal strategy will be to delay and then to appeal. As a result, for the first time, America will have a presidential candidate on the ballot who stands accused of federal and state crimes. Words like ”uncharted” and “unprecedented” were worn out by the end of Mr Trump’s first term. America will need new ones for this election.
It is hard to overstate how important the outcome will be for America and the rest of the world. America’s next president will face some predictable problems. The trust funds that pay for Social Security and Medicare (health care for pensioners) are running out of money. Nuclear proliferation in Iran and North Korea will be in the in-tray again. And there is the looming question of Taiwan. China-watchers in the West believe there is a narrow window, which overlaps with the next presidency, during which the People’s Liberation Army would have the advantage in a conflict over the island. The president chosen in 2024 will thus be in charge in the moment of maximum danger.
Most crises, though, are of the unexpected sort. In 2016 Mr Trump campaigned on ending American entanglements in the Middle East. Less than a year later, he gave the order to launch 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at targets in Syrian territory. The last year of his presidency was consumed by mishandling the spread of a new virus. Mr Biden’s presidency has been steadier and more successful, but the subjects that have demanded most of his attention—the bungled retreat from Afghanistan, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and a war between Israel and Hamas—were unforeseen.
A second Trump win, though, would be predictably awful. Plans will be laid over the next 12 months to staff his administration with true believers. The full effect is hard to imagine. What would it mean for foreign policy, or action on climate change? Would other countries elect nationalist populists in imitation again, as Brazil did in 2018?
For America, the questions are even bigger. What would it mean for the country’s democracy to re-elect a man who governed as Mr Trump did, who was impeached twice by the House of Representatives—and who tried to overturn the result of the last election? ■

If a politician request financial assistants from the public to put law breaks back on our streets, do they have any responsibility to crimes those individuals commit? I would encourage you to read her actual tweet in this article, she urges anyone able to “chip” in.
Direct Quotes:
MFF’s 2018 tax filing shows it raised only about $100,000 that year. Just weeks after Floyd’s death, it raised an astonishing $35 million, in part because of tweets such as the one by Harris, who is now the Democratic vice-presidential nominee. That influx has put a strain on an organization that at the time had only one full-time staff member.
For the purposes of this fact-check, we are going to mostly focus on Cotton’s claim that “violent rioters” were bailed out in order “to do more damage.” But we will also address Trump’s comment.
Former vice president Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee, also has proposed eliminating cash bail. Critics of the current bail system say it mainly harms people of color, who are poorer and less able to afford bail, forcing them to lose jobs and income as they await trial. MFF says 60 percent of the people incarcerated in Minnesota are being held in pretrial detention — and that Black people make up 7 percent of the state population but 31 percent of the prison and jail population.
According to an accounting by the American Bail Coalition, verified by The Fact Checker with a review of Hennepin County jail records, all but three of the 170 people arrested during the protests between May 26 and June 2 were released from jail within a week. Of the 167 released, only 10 had to put up a monetary bond to be released; in most cases, the amounts were nominal, such as $78 or $100. In fact, 92 percent of those arrested had to pay no bail — and 29 percent of those arrested did not face charges.
One defendant, Jaleel Stallings, was charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting at police during protests on May 30, county records show. MFF paid $75,000 in cash to get Stallings out of jail, according to MFF interim director Greg Lewin.
The probable charge statement against Stallings says officers wore their uniforms, as well as SWAT vests and helmets, as they fired 40 mm plastic projectiles to disperse crowds. As police officers patrolled in an unmarked white van, a group of people ran away, but Stallings allegedly approached the vehicle and appeared to fire three or four rounds from a AK-47-style mini Draco pistol after an officer fired a plastic projectile in his direction.
MFF also paid $750 toward a bond for Chylen Evans, who was charged with looting a liquor store, clothing store and mobile store.
On Aug. 10, Minneapolis television station KMSP aired a report documenting how, after receiving the torrent of donations, MFF had bailed out a number of people charged with violent crimes, including posting $100,000 for a woman accused of killing a friend and $350,000 for a twice-convicted rapist charged with kidnapping, assault and sexual assault in two separate cases.
After Lyden’s report aired, Lionel Timms, a man whom MFF bailed out on an assault charge in July, was charged with committing third-degree assault on Aug. 14, leaving the victim with a traumatic brain injury and a fractured skull.
MFF issued a statement that it was “deeply saddened and troubled” by the arrest and that not enough support was given to Timms “to safely come back to the community,” including promised housing.
Aaron MacLean, a spokesman for Cotton, said the Timms case backs up the message of Cotton’s tweet. “Anyone who donated/solicited donations to the Minnesota Freedom Fund shares responsibility for how the money is used — in this case, to bail out a violent criminal who went on to commit a further act of violence,” he said in an email. “Indeed, no one should be soliciting donations for (or, in the case of Joe Biden's staff, actually donating to) an organization that takes an incredibly reckless approach to public safety.”
Cotton’s claim that “violent rioters” were released with MFF funds has some basis in fact. But we stumble over Cotton’s additional claim that violent rioters were let out of jail to do more damage. MFF did bail out at least two people charged with attempted murder or burglary during the protests.
In theory, Cotton would have been eligible for one Pinocchio because of the second part of his sentence but we will leave this unrated.

Republican Sen. J.D. Vance received support from 10 Democrats as part of a successful amendment prohibiting the Department of Transportation from using any federal funds to enforce future mask mandates.
The amendment to the Senate minibus appropriations bill passed Wednesday by a 59-38 margin and prevents federal mask mandates on passenger airlines, commuter rail, rapid transit buses, and any other transportation program funded through the 2024 fiscal year.
These are the 10 Democrats who voted for the amendment: Tammy Baldwin (Wisconsin); Michael Bennet (Colorado); Sherrod Brown (Ohio); Tim Kaine (Virginia); Mark Kelly (Arizona); Amy Klobuchar (Minnesota); Joe Manchin (West Virginia); Jacky Rosen (Nevada); Jean Shaheen (New Hampshire); and Jon Tester (Montana).
Three senators—Democrats John Fetterman (Pennsylvania) and Alex Padilla (California), and Republican Tim Scott (South Carolina—did not vote. Of the three independent senators, Kyrsten Sinema (Arizona) was the only one to vote in favor.
"This is a massive victory for personal freedom in this country," Vance said in a post-vote statement. "We saw countless abuses of authority throughout the COVID pandemic, and the American people were justifiably enraged by unscientific mask mandates.
"Today, the United States Senate took an emphatic step toward common sense and individual liberty. I'm proud of what we've accomplished here and look forward to continuing the fight."
In September, Vance, who represents Ohio, introduced the Freedom to Breathe Act—a bill intended to prevent the reimposition of federal mask mandates across the entire United States, in response to some businesses and colleges and universities reimposing mask mandates in the summer due to upticks in COVID-19 cases.
In September, the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Ohio announced that all staff will be required to wear masks on the premises beginning September 25.
"This decision was made to promote the safety of our patients, families, visitors, and employees, based on evidence that masks are effective in reducing the spread of respiratory illness," the hospital said in a statement.
A recent map published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) showed that, from October 8 to October 14, COVID-19 deaths increased just 2.5 percent nationally when compared to the previous week. Some states, including Ohio's neighbor Michigan, with a 33.3 percent rise, reported much larger increases.
Vance said prior to the vote on the Senate floor that while COVID will unfortunately be with Americans for likely the rest of their lives, its presence should not constitute "public health panic" for a respiratory virus which is mostly unable to be stopped or controlled on a widespread level.
He alluded to altercations on flights between passengers and flight attendants during the height of the pandemic due to mask enforcement. Vance also mentioned the developmental delays to schoolchildren and division that resulted among American families. "If people want to wear masks, of course they should be able to," he said. "But if people don't want to wear masks on airplanes, on transit, they should have that option as well, and that's all that my amendment does.
"It is narrowly scoped. It applies for the next 11 months and applies to transportation cases. And I think it is reasonable to not ask the American people to reenter the era of mask mandates."
Brown, who along with Vance represents Ohio, told Cleveland.com that he supported the amendment because "the pandemic's over."
"I've got no problems with it," Brown said. "I don't think there should be mask mandates."
A spokesperson for Brown told Newsweek the senator had no additional comment.
Newsweek reached out via email to Vance, the other nine Democrats who voted for the amendment, and the CDC for comment.

Our Moonie son “seemed to be in a bizarre world of science fiction” at Barrytown
Voices of parents of children lost to the moonies 3
February 1976
The following was excerpted from a testimonial submitted by a parent:
Our 21-year old son loudly proclaimed his intention to die in Korea for the Messiah (Sun Myung Moon) in August 1974. This was the first conflict with his family. He is the oldest of __ children. He had been an amiable, respected, industrious, successful 4th year college student.
He met the Moonies on the University of Minnesota campus while waiting for his sister, with whom he shared a car. He told us he was going to a Christian retreat for the weekend in Spirit Lake, Iowa. His emotions exploded there. By his actions we knew that this was not a Christian group, life investigated and found the kind of deception our Bible warns against. He couldn’t – or wouldn’t – hear us.
He was promptly moved to a commune 80 miles away and allowed only short contacts with us. He tried to convince us of the movement’s value, but the platitudes only thinly veiled Moon’s obvious mission for power and money. They followed the con-man pattern of telling the victim lies he wanted to hear to get his money, then making him feel good about it. After months of grueling days of fund-raising, not enough sleep, and emotional pressure-cooker weekends, he turned over his bank account. He had saved $1,150.00 while living at home, working part-time as a janitor, for his final-year at college.
In 1975, they pumped him up into thinking he was getting a scholarship, then flew him to Barrytown for deeper indoctrination. He wrote of guarding Moon’s Lincoln Continental and working nights on the telephone switchboard.
We drove him away from Barrytown for a holiday in July. Many young people who had left cults talked to him on the way back home. His values had changed. Money, personal freedom and comfort seemed unimportant. He had regressed to the level of early teen dependence. He wanted to marry, but it didn’t matter to whom since all Moonie women think alike. He seemed to be in a bizarre world of science fiction, but after 30 days, he promised not to go back. If we had had immediate psychiatric help in a professional Rehab. Center at that time, with necessary security, we would have had a better chance for success.
The cult was calling. They demanded to talk to him or initiate a police investigation and lawsuit on an alleged kidnapping charge. Our local police called them and told them that our son was free, that we didn’t have to tell them where he was, and to stop harassing us. He went to stay in a foster home with a couple who had had over 500 disturbed children from public and private agencies. We contacted the County Mental Health Clinic and gave them the background; they arranged for testing and counseling. It took a few weeks to get into this and many more to get him ready for family involvement.
The cult found his foster home, called and threatened them and alluded menacingly to their ten-year-old daughter. The mother became physically ill and was hospitalized, anxiety attenuating her illness. The stress was too much for them and our son seemed to be slipping back.
After he came home to stay, he found a good job near our home. He was, at last, willing to have us involved in Family Therapy. His father was ill and hospitalized for surgery. His emotions were straining from holding it all in and he told the therapist and me, “When I think like you, I’ve wasted a year of my life.” On New Year’s Eve, he watched Billy Graham’s telecast and became visibly upset. He quit his job and secretly had the cult pick him up outside his place of work. They returned him home at the usual time for a few days until I discovered them. He expected to stay in the cult and continue Family Counseling, but we could not agree to this. He agreed to continue individual therapy, but has not done so due to being so busy out of state on the fund-raising tours.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The St. Paul Fire Department is investigating a suspected case of arson at an Islamic center early Wednesday.
Few details were initially available, but the fire is said to have happened at Tawhid Islamic Center of Minnesota, which is on the 400 block of Dale Street. Crews responded at about 8:45 a.m. on a report of flames coming from the building.
St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter called out this latest attack on a place of worship.
“I’m disgusted,” Carter said. …
Police officials saying they will increase patrols at mosques across the city, and Carter promised he’ll lobby to raise funds for more security cameras.
“If you come anywhere near a mosque in St. Paul, be prepared to say cheese, because you will be on camera, and we will be able to see you,” Carter said.
We’re deeply troubled by the suspected arson at the Tawhid Islamic Center. This is the sixth attack on a MN mosque this year, and it’s an attack on our values of unity, respect, and freedom. To our Muslim community: we are with you and will support you at every step #NoToHate pic.twitter.com/CFJoJeyFbF
— City of Saint Paul (@cityofsaintpaul) May 18, 2023
… Rep. Samakab Hussein, whose district houses the center, issued the following statement:
“I am frustrated that sacred spaces Minnesotans use to practice religion are being violently attacked. We simply cannot normalize these incidents of hate. I urge all Minnesotans to come together in solidarity to combat these atrocious actions and uplift our Muslim community. The freedom of religion is essential to a free and democratic society. It allows people to practice their faith without fear of persecution or discrimination. It also allows people to explore different faiths and to learn about different cultures.
“I call on all Americans to join us in condemning these attacks and in defending the freedom of religion. We also call on law enforcement to do everything in their power to bring the perpetrators of these attacks to justice.”
