Get over how little traction this ship got in the K fandom…😣

Mikoto literally became a nuclear ticking time bomb when Totsuka was killed. He lasted TEN DAYS! TEN FUCKING DAYS without him.

He wore an earring with his blood to remember him!

Totsuka was the only one who could get through Mikotos flames without being hurt and the only one Mikoto would listen to!

Mikoto would be ready to go apeshit and Totsuka would be like hey king maybe not? And wild af Mikoto would be like oh yea ok maybe not…

When Totsuka dies Mikoto is essentially like ok now it’s time for the world to burn then…

And when Mikoto dies who does he think of?! TOTSUKA (front and centre) you can’t make this shit up!

I come back to the ship for the pain sometimes and my god it’s one of the most tragic ships around and I’m always racking my brain as to how they weren’t insanely popular!

If I need to pull up receipts I'll happily do so but friendly reminder that

- The writers said that Mikoto and Totsuka had a "special relationship" that others would think is "unmanly" even going as far as to say their relationship was "kept a secret"

- Izumo saying that only Totsuka could tame the beast inside of Mikoto.

- Izumo ACKNOWLEDGING that he himself couldn't make Mikoto stay and understood Totsuka's important to Mikoto and why Mikoto had to do this.

- Don't forget that Mikoto and Totsuka were alone in heaven together with one bed. Homosexuals <3

- In the Kingdom of Red novel, the parallels to Ichigen telling Totsuka he'll find his king and Honami, Mikoto's teacher telling Mikoto that he's going to find someone that's going to break down his walls and be that important figure who's going to make him the center for everyone else

- How Totsuka Is the ONLY person that Mikoto goes "who hurt you" and is ready to rip heads off.

- In a side manga for a celebration, Izumo has literally thought about killing Mikoto to end his suffering, but Totsuka is there to remind him that Mikoto can be reigned back, his thoughts literally being "so many times I've thought: I should put an end to this. Grant him peace. But every time, you'd calm the flame".

- Mikoto doesn't genuinely smile. Only when he's with Totsuka. One of the writers kinda mentions this.

- Totsuka reads Mikoto like a freaking BOOK and knows his true feelings and inner thoughts. The writers talk about this.

- Totsuka is very important to Homra, to MIKOTO. So when he died, everything literally fell apart. I'm sorry, but only for Totsuka would Mikoto basically kill himself. If it was someone else important to him that died, he would get his revenge but not kill himself if Totsuka was there to reign him in.

- Mikoto was the very first attachment that Totsuka had gotten and also got incredibly attached to Homra. In Totsuka's childhood, he didn't have many real attachments outside of this.

4. Pair earrings. 

thank you @choberibad​ for putting this on my radar.  Even though Mikoto doesn’t wear an earring until he pierces himself with totsuka’s earing after his death. Both of them wear the earring in ‘alternative reality versions’. As if they are matching, and a clear hint of belonging together.   We have three instances of this:  Yata’s ideal world 

Anna’s heaven: 

Izumo’s imagination:

they might not have had matching items whilst they were alive. But in the mind of everybody else, they did when thinking back to them or creating visions of them. They belong together and everyone around them subconsciously or consciously knew they did.   other reasons 1, 2, 3, 4

not be anti mikototsu but no one person gives Mikoto enough credit on his own self-restraint. Like every scene where Mikoto uses his aura everyone is suprised by the amount of power he actually has. Like Reisi who has faced off against mikoto enough times was still blinded by his power on the school island and when mikoto appeared with Anna to blast the path to the slates, Seri was stunned speechless at his power. Saruhiko only reacted fast enough because he has faced that power and accepted his death during Green's side mission event. When colorless king tried highjacking mikoto's soul he was surprised by burning lion inside Mikoto. Mikoto worst nightmare is losing controling, he burns himself up inside to stay in control.

And he did for Totsuka. He kept in cage, he kept his 'kingly court' for Tostuka. He kept himself in check 1st for Totsuka and then everyone else. So it not just Totsuka's aura that kept Mikoto from losing, but his very being. And not even his being alive.

Everyone knew Mikoto was gonna lose control and cause another crater when Totsuka died. Even when all that grief, rage and pain Mikoto kept himself in check until he could find the colorless king.

The way the manga protrays is as soon Mikoto says those words aloud "totsuka's dead" he starts to burn up

Totsuka confesses to Mikoto. How would he do it and what's Mikoto's reaction? What's everyone else's reaction?

 I feel like Totsuka would say it in an almost offhand fashion, like he wasn’t saying anything interesting or important at all, but Mikoto knows him well enough that he realizes immediately exactly how serious Totsuka is being. I think Totsuka wouldn’t say it in front of everyone, at least not the first time — I kinda imagine it as just the two of them hanging out in the bar, while Kusanagi is busy elsewhere with Anna. Mikoto is napping and Totsuka is just sitting nearby at the bar, swinging his legs idly as he chats about his latest hobby. Mikoto isn’t responding but Totsuka thinks that he’s listening anyway, and in the middle of the chat Totsuka just stops and gets this wistful smile as he’s like ‘I love you, King.’ He immediately tries to move on from that, as if he was talking to someone fast asleep, but Mikoto just gets up and leans on the counter next to him. Totsuka acts all innocent like hm what brought this on, and Mikoto looks at him quietly as he’s like ‘it’s all right for you to say it again.’ Totsuka’s eyes widen for a moment and then he smiles and is like well if you say so King, soft and sincere as he says ‘I love you.’

Later I imagine them being all casually affectionate and the Homra guys notice but aren’t sure if they should say anything, like maybe this is just how Totsuka and Mikoto are. But then at some point imagine Totsuka having to do his whole beast tamer thing and calm Mikoto down after some fight, and this time he adds a breezy ‘anyway, I love you.’ Everyone exchanges glances like did we hear that right, Totsuka is just smiling as Mikoto grunts and suddenly pulls Totsuka into his lap while Totsuka laughs. Once they get over their shock though I imagine the Homra guys would be all supportive, they already knew that Totsuka was important to Mikoto so seeing exactly how important isn’t really that much of a shock when you get right down to it. Anna and Kusanagi I feel like already knew Totsuka’s feelings so they’re more pleased that Totsuka said it, sometimes it’s hard to get that guy to seriously admit his attachment and it’s good that he was actually able to properly confess to Mikoto.
