Holds up great! The plot is great. Could see why it''s been remade. I could see a modern remake working as well. I think the remake is set in the same setting. Really like the full circle ending.

Poor Tess: Not only does she keep getting damsel'd so much, the event barely raises an eyebrow among her friends and family, she can't even get the Dick she so desperately craves because he keeps running off to be a cop at people.
