A part of me thinks it was wasted potential that Naraku wasn’t as obsessed with Kagome as he was with Kikyo, since Kagome was her reincarnation, had more of her/their soul, annnd because of the parallels of Kagome versus Naraku plus the original shikon priestess versus all those demons

But also I think it’s hilarious that Onigumo/Naraku was like “no. dead corpse that’s not even actually technically her corpse only.” while other people were struggling with comparing Kagome to Kikyo

Also makes it even funnier to me is that Kagome kind of doesn’t have her own personal beef with Naraku, she wants to take him down to put the jewel back together because she feels responsible for it, she wants to take him down because it’s the right thing to do, and she wants to take him down because of how he’s hurt her friends, but I don’t think she even takes him killing her past life personally (definitely thinks it was messed up of him to do, but didn’t take it personally)

Just. Despite the Midoriko/Kagome versus tons of demons/Naraku parallels especially at the end, they’re very,,,, I don’t know how to put this but it’s almost like if Kagome hadn’t accidentally shattered the jewel or tried keeping it with herself, when she went back in time they could’ve easily ended up never interacting/ignoring each other, if that makes sense?

Not enemies cause they’re driven to take each other down but more like annoyed coworkers stuck in this constant cycle together

So happy 2024!! I hope your year has a good start, and speaking about new journeys- Midoriko herself went through her own journey herself. And I feel that I translated Midoriko's darkness into this form, as a year before last I was pretty much in the dark.

On a lighter note, I reach 100K for I want you which is insane, as I never wrote something as long as this story and it really shows how much I love these characters and the journey they went through.

I want to thank @fawn-eyed-girl for always supporting my long story by her amazing outlook (today she found that I have a missing sentence in my story) and clarity and @serial-doubters-club for believing my mad tale.
