So Are You Doing Anything Saturday Night?, digital, 2023 This originated as some concept artwork for a personal short film I've been developing for what seems like years now. In my experience, a sketch can sometimes evolve into something else, in this case the above artwork. I'm a romantic at heart so I have a soft spot for this one. I hope those two kids had a great Saturday night.

This home is aesthetic, cute, cosy & dreamy all at the same time. There are obviously some elements of it that aren't particularly practical, like the indoor flowers, but I've tried to recreate it as close to the videos as I could!
I hope you like it!

TRAFFICLIGHT SMP MORAL ALIGNMENT CHART!
I know they all look Chaotic Neutral, but some of them are actually Chaotic Evil.
So, lets dive in!
Bdubs:
Main Points:
In Third Life Bdubs makes the Crastle and the Crastle Alience, part of a red-green alience with Cleo, kills because if a clock and ends up siding with the Desert and later the Desert Duo. Dies in third place; kills Impulse, Bigb and Grian.
In Last Life we have the famous Ethbubs, teammate Tango boogie betrayal, team BEST, and he dies in 12th place. He boogie kills Grian (first kill/boogie kill, first LL death), boogie kills Tango, and murders Lizzie to gain a life.
In Double life he leans into a true love relationship with his soulmate Impulse, they build a mid-centry modern home, while trying to break up other couples, and ends up being the team in third place.
Lets look at his track record.
Loyal to one person. Traitor to all else.
Short temper. (we’ve all heard him yelling at someone out of nowhere) Loud.
Willing to betray? Check. As long as it’s not his significant other.
Protective of what he makes.
Too protective to be in Evil?
I’d say he’s… neutral good.
Bdubs waits until things heat up to start behaving badly, cares about his allies (Country to common belief he is not ready to betray all of his allies at the beginning of the alliance) until his hand is forced (and with the life games it always happens to be sooner rather than later) and still, through all of his pain and suffering, he still cares! About his builds, about his significant other, and when he can afford it, Bdubs cares about others.
So yeah.
Neutral Good.
If anyone has their own opinion, feel free to share it!

History of Sexuality critical response
I'd like to preface this by saying that I'm certainly not a Foucault expert. Rather, I have just finished The History of Sexuality Vol. 1, and this post serves for me to work out my understanding of the book. I found this youtube series immensely helpful for my understanding, so I suggest you check it out if you're interested in learning more! I also reccomend this free audio book on youtube.
Summary
Foucault begins with the oft-cited assumption that in our (western) society, sex is fundamentally repressed. While we may have once enjoyed a frankness about sex, we no longer do so. He believes that this assumption is wrong. Rather, sex is built in to our society as an object of discourse, and is one of the many fields that power uses to assert itself.
Foucault points to the fact that we have many specialized discourses that we use to talk about sex - medical, legal, religious, education, etc. Rather than hiding sex away, we search for information about it and from it in every corner of our lives. We try to discover the truth of it, and what it has to say about us, through wha he calls scientifica sexualis. By creating these discourses surrounding sex, we unknowingly(?) reify them. Through the attempt to (supposedly) squash out perversions or inappropriate forms of sexuality, we emphasize their importance. These discourses are wrapped up in power, and there is a kind of pleasure in having or trying to resist this power. As a result, pleasure and power continually reinforce each other.
However, we must reconsider our notions of power to understand why we have these discourses. For Foucault, power is not centralized, stemming from one individual, as we are used to thinking of. Instead, power is within various societal systems, each of which reinforce the others. The government and laws reinforce the family unit which reinforces the economy - and so on and in reverse order. Power, in this understanding, has no author or creator. And still, when examined it seems to have strategy to it. Sexuality is among these strategies.
Power uses sex in what Foucault terms the deployment of alliance - marriage, kinship and ownership systems. This is useful to power because it can reinforce the economy through transmission of wealth, as well as reinforce rules about what is permitted/forbidden. The deployment of sexuality seeks to have control at the level of bodies that produce and consume, and reproduce.
Commentary/Questions
First, let it be known that there is so much more than what I wrote above. If Foucault's ideas could be summarized in a few paragraphs, he wouldn't have needed a whole book to explain them. That being said, I naturally have questions.
Foucault goes to great lengths to assure us that the regulations that govern sexuality did not first appear as a way to control the lower classes, but rather as a class marker between the bourgeoisie/aristocrats and the masses. He writes, "[The bourgeoisie]must bw seen rather as beng occupied, from the mid-eigteenth centry on, with creating its own sexuality and forming a specific body based on it, a 'class' body with its health, hygiende, descent, and race: the autosexualization of its body, the incarnation of sex in its body, the endogamy of sex and the body" (124). This seems, to me, a contradictory to his assertion that power has no centrality. If power has no central focus, why are there so many groups that power clearly favors? In modern intersectional theories, we know it isn't as simple as oppressor/oppressed, and obviously there is no *singular* author of power, but surely some groups have been able to work power, purposefully, to their collective advantage? As he describes here with the upper classes.
Despite my issue here, this book legitimately blew my mind. The idea of out desire to analyze sexuality stemming back to the catholic confession was particularly powerful (see my previous post). I find this analysis of power useful, despite my confusions. Power being reinforced from all sides, rather than strictly top-down accounts for things we see in our day-to-day. Internalized -isms and -phobias. Certain things being reinforced at the level of law, culture, the family, etc.
This book also highlights something for me that I've been thinking about for a long time: how do we reconcile the fact that sexuality/gender shouldn't need to be so important, and yet it is for so many people? According to Foucault, our desire to endlessly analyze our sexuality is part of the strategy of power, but some people do feel genuinely liberated by this. I do not want to discount their experience by saying it is merely due to false consciousness or some other way of dismissing it.
