Thursday 2/23/23 10pm ET: Feature LP: Narada Michael Walden - The Dance Of Life (1979)
The Dance of Life is the second 1979 studio disc from R&B singer-songwriter/drummer/producer Narada Michael Walden. Unlike his last two releases, it featured several songs Walden co-wrote with other people (such as Allee Willis and guitarist Corrado “Pat” Rustici).
“You’re Soo Good” 6:02“I Shoulda Loved Ya” 6:34“Lovin’ You Madly” 5:15“Crazy For Ya” 3:51“Tonight I’m Alright” 5:14“Why Did You Turn…
John McLaughlin's quite curious. His career can attest to the fact as we are going to observe in our discussions on the latter. I mean, one only has to check Mahavisnu Orchestra, one of his major projects, to hear what I mean. The group found him traversing through the different facets of jazz fusion. Then again, the sound of the band remodelled immensely thanks to the fact the entire set of members sans McLaughlin got replaced. That is why there are always debates about the best lineup. To be honest, the volatility of that one might be to blame here.
Todd Rundgren Has Laryngitis; Celebrating David Bowie Tour Adjusts
- Nov. 4 show postponed; Nov. 5 to go on without Rundgren and with Narada Michael Walden
Todd Rundgren has laryngitis and the Celebrating David Bowie tour is making adjustments.
The Nov. 4 show in Ohio is postponed, while Nov. 5 in New York will go ahead without Rundgren and with Narada Michael Walden in his place.
Rundgren, who sings “Young Americans,” “Space Oddity,” “Changes,” “Life on Mars?” and other songs on the gigs, “is navigating a case of laryngitis impacting his ability to sing,” per a statement.
The announcement about Cincinnati came hours before showtime and indicates another leg of the tour - read Sound Bites’ review of Akron here - is planned for “spring 2023,” when the makeup date is to occur.
Meanwhile, Walden will sub for Rundgren Nov. 5 in New York, the venue said in a statement.
No word on plans for the Nov. 7 show in Tennessee.
Scrote, Adrian Belew, Royston Langdon and Jeffrey Gaines are the other featured artists.

REVIEW: Journey – Freedom (2022, Japanese bonus track)
JOURNEY – Freedom (2022 Japan, Ward Records)
Last month we gave Journey’s new album Freedom a glowing review. We also did an excellent episode of Tim’s Vinyl Confessions to discuss the new album. Though many were sceptical, Tim and I agreed more or less on the entire album. We were both pleasantly surprised at its quality. What was missing was the Japanese bonus 16th track. Neither of us got…
